This is the GOAT breakfast spot of Ashland. They serve all the usual classics with finesse and love. The bacon comes crisp, the pancakes fluffy, the omelettes delicate, and the hash browns seared beautifully. Beyond that, they push their menu to incorporate delicious, more elevated ingredients. The smoked bacon omelette is a banger. If you like the carmelized flavor of French onion soup, you'll love this! So rich and deep with umami flavor, melding with diced bacon and fontina cheese. The Belgian waffle is also intense with bits of walnut and bacon baked in, which collides beautifully with hot maple syrup. So delicious! Lastly, I like to champion breakfast spots that have the courage to deliver expertly done hash browns. Breadboard doesn't even try, with the usual "home fries" cop-out (that nobody loves but will tolerate). Brothers serves hash browns, but they're usually soggy and falling apart. Not the case here. You get a nice, flat, crisp, rigid slab of hashbrowns, ready to accompany your main. Overall this is my number one spot for an Ashland breakfast. We had a little bit of a wait but it's a lovely garden setting so we enjoyed it. The food is so flavorful and well-conceived. We loved the salmon crepe with dill (salmon fillet instead of lox) and the huevos rancheros with chorizo (extra charge). The plate is a bit soupy with all of the ingredients and oil but don't let the first impression fool you. The mix of savory chorizo, black beans, pico de gallo, fried egg, and a cilantro (?) pesto go together so well and make for a great taco with the two small corn tortillas they give you. Gayle and I started coming to Ashland in 2006, and until COVID hit we stayed at the Peerless and enjoyed Michael's custom breakfasts. I remember Morning Glory have the "Best Breakfast" vibe, but there was no need to go anywhere else when the next Peerless breakfast was just around the corner. Fast forward to this year and with the Peerless under new management (with no breakfast), Gayle and I were staying at the Ashland Springs. Their now $18 so-so breakfast buffet had us reaching out for other options. So one fine Ashland morning, Gayle and I enjoyed a nice to Morning Glory. Considering it's reputation, this was a solid 4 Star experience. It's among the best in Ashland, but with apologies to Toni, maybe not the world. :) The decor was colorful and inviting, our wait guy's service was spot on, coffee was strong and black, and Gayle's scramble and my breakfast sandwich (both with fruit and more than enough to eat) was tasty. We were here on a Thursday morning, meaning that the place was not crazy busy. We then worked our breakfast off via a long walk into the SOU campus and then into the hilly neighborhoods behind. We'll remember that walk as we diligently followed the "Habemus Papam" announcement. This is a place we'll probably return during our next Ashland to OSF trip. Mixed review of this popular breakfast spot: The menu reflects lots of thought, skill, and dietary needs. The kitchen does a great job cooking food that is delicious and attractive, with nicely sized portions. Our issue was with the service. Very hit-and-miss depending on your server. We waited over 40 minutes for our food! To be fair, it was at a busy time and I do not fault the kitchen crew as I could tell they were working hard. NOT ONCE during the 40-minute wait did our server check in, reassure us it was coming soon, or anything. The server at the next table apologized to his table for the wait and offered them a free muffin to compensate. I was looking for our server to do something similar, but no. Not even an apology when the food was delivered! 2 stars for the food, the Lemon Ricotta French toast and Sourdough pancakes were pretty good. However we won't be returning, and I'll explain why. After we first got seated after about a 20 minute wait (and there's also no parking anywhere aside from 6 spots) we took 2 available spots at the bar. Shortly after we sat down, one of the workers (I'm not sure if this was one of the owners, but he was working the floor and the register) walked by me, grabbed my hot tea that I brought in, without saying a word, and chucked it in the garbage. At this point, I wasn't sure if it was an accident, or intentional, but I said "excuse me, that was my drink". When I finally got his attention, he looked over and was like "oh, well we don't allow any outside drinks". Which is understandable, but it's extremely rude to grab anything that belongs to a customer without saying anything. Also, there's no signage anywhere saying this. He could have easily said "Hey we don't allow any outside beverages" which would have been fine and I would have taken it back to the car. Anyway, I proceed to ask him to grab my drink back out because he was like "Oh you still want it?" Like bro, this drink was still full. Anyhow there was no apology, which makes me think he either did it intentionally or absentmindedly and didn't want to admit any fault. This should be customer service 101, you don't grab anything from a customer without asking. So for this reason alone, we won't be returning and in all honesty, we probably should have walked out of the restaurant. But we had already waited 20 minutes and didn't want to bother finding another place. But the staff could use a lesson in treating customers better. read more

Road trip to San Francisco. First and only stop Ashland OR for breakfast at Morning Glory. We were looking for places to eat and this had the best and most reviews. The restaurant is quaint with friendly and eclectic servers. Our waitress recommended the bacon Belgian waffle with maple syrup for that perfect amount of salty and sweet. I ordered that along with the house made breakfast sausage patties while my boyfriend ordered the biscuits with country gravy with hash browns. He demolished his plate. I loved my waffle it was light and airy and was perfect balance with the sausage patties and maple syrup. We didn't wait long for a seat but I would recommend coming early because it does get busy. You cannot leave Ashland without going to Morning Glory for breakfast or brunch first. We've been go there for years. The atmosphere is delightful. Lots of art and things to look at. Seating is comfortable. The service is great. Sunday's special was an outstanding king mushroom and bacon omelette -- comes with several side choices, all of which are delicious. I was in Oregon, visiting a friend, and decided to check out this breakfast joint. There's about 5 parking spots in the back of the restaurant. We parked in a neighborhood nearby and walked about a 3 minute walk. Be sure to check the signs, just to be safe! There was no wait on a Saturday morning around 9 a.m., surprisingly. It started getting busy after 10:30 am. The fireplace was on, which felt nice in the chilly morning. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but we chose to be seated inside. The atmosphere of the cafe is cute. It's very welcoming! Workers were enthusiastic and friendly. They were quick to check up on us and answer any questions we had. I ordered the lemon ricotta French toast. My friend got the apple gouda chicken sausage omelet. We decided to share half our food so we could enjoy both dishes. The portions are big here! The French toast was heaven. Every bite was pure joy, especially with the lemon butter. Surprisingly, the French toast wasn't too sweet. The apple chicken sausage omelet was delicious. Went for a late breakfast on Valentines Day, we got there close to closing time (1 pm). We were sat at the last booth nearest to the bathroom & shortly after we were sat, the booth next to us left. Since it was now after closing, there were no other tables near us and the remaining customers were progressively leaving. We ordered, got our food, server was great, no issues with her. We've eaten here many times previously and enjoyed the food and have never once had any issue. My husband was showing me a video on his phone as we were eating, his phone volume was very low - it was barely audible, we were actually reading the subtitles. A few minutes into watching the video, an employee walked by our table and said "we're gonna need you to turn your phone off, we don't allow customers to be on their phones on speaker." My husband was very surprised but initially said OK and turned it off. After thinking about it for a minute, he asked a different employee if he could speak with a manager about what we were told. The employee responded that it was the owner who said that we couldn't be on the phone so we asked to speak with the owner. The owner that came out to speak to us was the employee who had told us to turn the phone off initially. My husband said to him that it was not ok to tell a paying customer to not be on their phone, we were not being disruptive in any way and that while we may have been watching a video on speaker, the volume was barely audible and given that the restaurant was closed and no one was seated by us, we did not see an issue and were shocked that an owner would tell a customer that they couldn't be on their phone. The owner took a hard line on what he had told us and said we could leave. Which we did once we were done eating. And we will not be returning here. Nor will any of our family members or friends. For a business owner to tell a paying customer that they can't be on their phone is absolutely absurd. Would he have said that to a parent whose child was watching a tablet? We were in no way being disruptive or watching anything inappropriate. This restaurant in not a quiet spot - there was a very large, vocal group eating while we were there and every time we have been there previously it is a restaurant that is on the noisier side. Small business owners in Ashland constantly complain about how hard it is to stay in business and this is how they treat their customers? I know this restaurant has been around for a long time and my singular review may have minimal effect on their business but I would be remiss to not make others aware that the owner thinks that it is OK to treat their customers in this manner. He was totally out of line and out of his mind to think he was ok to tell us we couldn't be on our phone. I will absolutely tell anyone who asks for a breakfast recommendation to not go here. read more

As good as it gets! I love the ambiance here, and the team is really friendly and helpful. We have made this a tradition, every time we are in Ashland helping a friend doing the 100 mile Ultra Trail run called "pine to Palm" my husband and I have made time to go here for breakfast during the weekend. It is a highlight! I love the food choices of savory and sweet, and tons of vegetarian options! And, their coffee drinks are really good too. They make the most amazing pumpkin oatmeal pancakes with an almond flavored butter, so you don't really need the syrup. We also had the chorizo scramble which was also very tasty. They are typically very busy so go there intending to wait about 15 to 30 minutes. It is worth the wait! The only downside, which I am not counting against them, is the parking. They have a one way drive to their small parking area so the likelihood of having to park about a 3 minute walk away is likely. read more

This place was rough. The parking with a nightmare but we managed to get in after circling around a few times. The staff was pleasant and that's the only reason I rated this so high. I love biscuits and gravy. We are out of town so not being familiar the first thing I do is look this up on yelp to see pictures so I could judge whether or not to order it. It looked fine (as in not from a can or bag or some awful bland "milk" gravy). What I got was something that was awful to look at and eqully awful to eat. I could not even identify the meat, I had to ask. I though it might be ham but when he said sausage I was floored. There was NO color on it and it felt like little pink blobs of fat. The flavor, texture and color were all wrong. I asked for the eggs to be cooked a soft scramble. They came out brown on the edges and overcooked. If you only do breakfast, know how to make eggs. We loved our brunch at Morning Glory. My husband and I were visiting Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival, and we looked up good breakfasts spots near our hotel. This is a quaint little cafe that looks like a refurbished home. There are pretty, colorful murals on all the walls inside and some outside, too. We were seated inside. The host and the waiter were both friendly. We were served coffee quickly, and we were given a few minutes to decide on our food. They have a good menu. A lot of crepe options, but there are savory dishes as well. My husband ordered the crepe wrap which was kind of like a breakfast burrito but instead of being wrapped in a tortilla, a crepe. I ordered the bacon Belgian waffles which were served with walnut butter and maple syrup. Both dishes we ordered were awesome! Really yummy flavors, good presentation, and nicely executed creative offerings! I'm glad we tried some of the more unique items on the menu. We had never tried anything else quite like it before. The coffee is good quality from a local roaster, but it's pretty dark. We ordered a chicken sausage omelette with mushrooms and substituted spinach for kale. Very nice! Ashland hosts numerous amazing brunch spots but Morning Glory stands out as having a perfect mix of cozy/ comfortable and unique brunch food. Their crepes are the best of the best. I always order the au Gra crepe!! The bacon bits are otherworldly! If you have more of a sweet tooth, then the stuffed lemon ricotta French toast is 10/10. If you are a pro like me then I would recommend ordering your main dish as a crepe and then asking for a half order of lemon ricotta stuffed French toast to share with the table. That's the best mix of food right there! Morning Glory gets very busy on the weekends so I recommend either coming early or in a small group.
