Pistachio cardamom cookie, empire matcha, and kumquat cardamom coffee.

The restaurant is so cute and has an amazing atmosphere. The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful despite me being so indecisive. They were very helpful and patient. Food wise pretty good - got the French toast! Not super thick and crunchy like I dream of but good flavor and way better than what I make! The coffee and matcha drinks on the other hand were -and I hate to use this word but- mid. I got the komquat coffee and the saffron cardamom matcha (I wanna say empire matcha). I preferred the matcha but felt like the flavor was a bit bland? I also think of foam as foam not a cream floater which it felt more like. It just tasted a bit bland. But I definitely recommend checking this place out for yourself! I know I will when I'm back in town! They had so many options that were hard to choose from!

Holy profit margins, Batman! It seems the basis of this restaurant was to take simple elements and up-charge based on the infusion of spices, often in an unbalanced and excessive way. We ordered the kebab sandwich and French toast. In total, this ended up being 5 slices of identical fried bread, accented differently. The French toast was not traditionally battered before preparation, so a bit of false advertising if you are expecting a fluffy exterior. It came with several clashing flavors of orange, mango, cardamom, and saffron. Not much subtlety and a little bit of flavor confusion. The kebab sandwich didn't match the menu, which described sliced beef, goat cheese, tamarind, and yogurt. It was rather a heavily cardamom spiced hamburger patty with salad, picked onions, and a light sauce. With missing internal components and no sides, not worth $20. The drinks were also a bit confused, with the aftertaste becoming cloying from too many competing spices and floral elements. While spice is the flavor of life, I'm not sure a spice-forward restaurant is my cup of tea. Perhaps spices should be used more as an accent than a staple.

The atmosphere was great! Loved eating on the patio, the chai is delicious and I tried the harissa chicken sandwich- SO BOMB- literally one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The servers were very sweet and had good conversation with us. 10/10 definitely going to go back to try more of the menu

Wow, what a gem. I know Ashland is full of great restaurants with amazing food, unique selections and a welcoming ambiance but this place takes the cake. Or should I say the gluten free cookie! In addition to all of the above the service was delightful and extremely attentive. Our server Gio and his team, Amy and Alana were equally interesting and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. This is the place to come and soak in Ashland and all of its delights. Don't come here expecting fast food or a quick pick up before your curtain call. Go to Burrito Republic for that. This is where you come for crafted drinks and artisanal plates to savor and relish. Can't recommend enough. Live music - check for times. Dogs especially welcome!

Everything they make is gluten free! And they accommodate other allergies too

I had the beef kebab salad and the cacao elixir. My sister had the eggs and toast. The flavors popped in your mouth and made you want to keep relishing each bite. They were super slammed when we went in around noon on a Thursday and that speaks for itself! The owner never lost her cool and handled each person just as kindly as the next. The decor is very simple and modern with some Fun photos of chickens and the inside of their handmade chocolates. All the food is organic and regenerative! I'm blown away! They have parking and an outside, covered seating area. I even bought a loaf of their gluten free sourdough despite baking my own at home, I'm on a trip and wanted some!

    Pistachio latte

Delicious gluten free restaurant. They make everything in house and bake their bread daily. Extensive drink menu for lattes, chais, cocktails. Food delivery wasn't quick but food was beautifully prepared. 5 stars!

Winding down my visit with the kids before returning to Portland required two stops here barely 4 hours apart. My daughter said it was new & wanted to try since she lives just up the hill. When your staff provided a beautiful description of your fried chicken, we came back just for that. Loved the comfy & cozy nature, seeing the meal prep in the open and the beautiful touches in tableware & food presentation, quality I would recommend to anyone visiting Ashland. Will be back! That orange blossom French Toast & saffron whipped cream on a pistachio brownie turned into the perfect shareable brunch. Thank you!

Blush rush matcha and avocado toast

Such flavorful, fresh, and exciting food! You can even take your non-celiacs here, everything is so good.

Cute little space with five indoor tables and outside seating as well. Plenty of parking, too.

I'm really glad I listened to all the good reviews here on Yelp. Cocorico is a great restaurant. I…read morewas able to score a reservation for dinner about a week before we traveled to Ashland. Our table was in their patio space, which I actually like better than the indoor part of the restaurant. The patio space feels very open and has a lot of live plants in the planters that make space between tables. It was a little warm on the patio since it was 98 degrees outside, but they keep it relatively cool on this mostly enclosed patio. Our server was great. She was so friendly and fun to talk to. She helped us figure out what we wanted to order and checked in on us just the right amount. You can tell the food here is very fresh and homemade. We started with the Deviled Eggs, which are really special. I love how they serve them over a bed of crushed up potato chips as they give this dish some salty crunch. Next we had the Beet salad, which is marinated beets over a whipped cheese. The beets do have a strong vinegar flavor, but it's balanced out beautifully by the cheese. My wife ordered the Mushroom Bolognese, which was probably the best dish of the evening. This is an incredible, vegetarian dish that is so meaty without any meat. The finely diced mushroom sauce is so good along with the handmade noodles. Also, adding burrata to it gives it a perfect creaminess. I ordered the pork chop, which was also excellent and enormous. It did take me a lot longer to eat since it was a little hard to cut, the compote on top added a great sweetness, but I feel like it could've used more. Also, the polenta and grilled asparagus was awesome. Lastly, we got the Rice Pudding for dessert. It comes with a hazelnut crumble and a dolce de leche sauce. Normally, I feel like rice pudding has a kind of thin, milky consistency, but not this. It is think and has a wonderful texture. It is probably the best rice pudding I've ever had. The nuts give a satisfying crunch and the dolce de leche sauce is light and sweet. Disclaimer: we did order one dish we really didn't like. It was a special salad with endives and lentils. The server was happy to get us another dish.

The food here is great! A little pricey, but definitely worth the price for the quality. The salads…read moreare fresh and creative, and the main courses are well-made and delicious. The pear dessert was so good! The atmosphere is cozy, cute, and a little tipsy--such a fun vibe. The service was also great. Definitely a lovely place for a good meal and a relaxing time!

BTW: It's delicious cold as well. My salad was topped with Mua's delicious Coronation (curried) chicken salad. Three is us at our table for 4 had that and loved it.
