This was my first time trying this place and it's off the hook. I had the turkey ciabatta sandwich and it had veggies and it was sooooo good. Also got the Botock (not sure if that's the name)- it's a French toast bread with custard and berries and toasted almonds. That was very delicious and not very sweet. Wish I try the coffee but I had my tea. Next time will try they coffee since everyone seems to be getting one with their pastry. Definitely worth the stop. Service was great too.
THE MORNING BUN. ABSOLUTELY INSANE MORNING BUN! They make it with orange zest inside which adds the perfect hint of citrus to this pastry that is already otherwise OUTSTANDING with the perfect dusting of cinnamon sugar and the most insane crackly crispy ASMR puff pastry crust. The contrast between the crunch of the crust and the fluffiness inside is ABSOLUTE CINEMA! ART! PERFECTION! 11/10, if you go here, you MUST order the morning bun or you are doing yourself a massive disservice and you will need to go back again (so maybe you're doing yourself a long-winded favor instead). We also tried the peach macaron (the thing behind the beautiful morning bun), blueberry lemon scone, and chocolate truffle ice cream. The macaron was fine, but a little too sweet. The scone was a tad overwhelmed by the lemon zest IMO, but the plain scone underneath was delicious. Mix Bakeshop does an insane job with textures and this showed in the scone as well, with the crust/corner pieces being absolutely perfect, and the thickness helped to balance out the lemon zest a little more than the center parts of the scone. I also love that they used fresh blueberries instead of the dried ones you find in other pastries, as they helped to keep the scone less sweet while adding some juicy pop when you bit into the blueberry pieces. The ice cream here is super creamy and smooth, but a little too sweet for me. Their hand-rolled cones are great though, I might order just a cone next time. TL;DR: Order the morning bun.
This little bake shop is the inspiration for Torte, the bake shop in Ellie Alexander's Bakeshop mystery series. Knowing that, I absolutely had to try it when I was in Ashland, Oregon. I am so glad I did. The hotel clerk warned me there could be a long wait but I arrived around 11am, there was no wait. I struggled to decide what I want because everything looked so good! I ended up ordering a ham and cheese croissant with a hot chocolate. Whoever made the croissant knew what they were doing. It was crisp, flaky, and perfect. The hot chocolate was so good, not too sweet. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Ashland. Between the very nice employees and the amazing food, Mix Bakeshop is worth the wait. The boy downside is that there isn't much seating so you may have to get your food to go and head to Lithia park to enjoy the food and the take advantage of the beautiful park.
Listen. I am obsessed with the Bakeshop Mysteries by Ellie Alexander, which are all set in a bakery in Ashland. So, when I knew I'd need a pit stop between Oregon and California, I wanted to be cheesy and stop into a bakery in Ashland. Came in around d 2:30 and there was still a mix of sweet and savory options. We got the savory scone and a lemon doodle cookie - both were top notch! Might have to swing back in on the way back home...
The reason I travel is for places like Mix bakeshop. It's a discovery that literally changes the way i think about what is possible, what is good, and the creative mind of chefs with flavors. Candied kumquat brown butter tart, homemade granola, lemon doodle cookie, ginger cookie, lemon thyme croissant, homemade ice creams, and a variety of very beautiful pastries. That's the offering here and more. The uniqueness of taste truly amazes me. I tried most of their ice cream flavors and they were all delicious and different. The lemon doodle cookie is a treat as I love lemon. Casual. Indoor seating. Good service. Please come and create your own adventure.

What an adorable little bakery/coffee shop. Located on the Main Street near all the theatres it makes a great stop to have a drink or little treat. I stopped in to get a chai and was so glad I did. I holes for hot with almond milk and it was the most spicy chai I've ever had. If you're looking for a sweet vanilla option this might not be the drink for you but I loved it! It bet it would be great iced, too The sandwiches and baked goods all looked delicious! read more

My first time coming into this coffee shop and I'm a barista myself- this place is hands down one of the cutest places and the staff is exceptional. Especially the girl that took our order, Kira, greeted us with a smile and was so sweet in answering all my matcha questions. I came for the coffee but the food- THE FOOD is so good. Best macaroons I've ever had- and I've had a lot! Espresso martinis were too good to be true and they don't come in those tiny glasses- it comes in a bigger glass- much more enjoyable to drink out of! read more
I'm in Ashland for a few days and have gone twice. So far. First stop was a Saturday mid afternoon. There was no line, I think bc everyone was still at the Shakespeare show. We sampled 4 different ice creams-earl grey cookie dough, tayberry, cherry, and strawberry lemonade sorbet. All were delicious. Eventually settled on the strawberry lemonade and then also got a berry tart. All the baked goods were sold out so I returned on Sunday morning and got a croissant, Ham and cheese croissant, plain croissant, pecan roll, and morning bun. My favorites were probably the pecan roll first-chewy and flaky and crispy all at once, and the chocolate croissant-also lightly layered and chewy and crunchy. The morning bun was good but I think my expectations were higher bc everyone had raved about them--it was a little too crispy on the outside, and I prefer the inner layers slightly more cinnamon-y and moist. Also ordered an earl grey caramel matcha latte--super tasty and not too sweet with a light matcha and earl grey flavor--who knew the combo would be so delicious! Cafe is cute with a little bit of indoor and outdoor seating. Overall would absolutely be back. And in fact may go back tomorrow before we leave! read more

The lemon meringue tart was beautiful and made with love. Absolutely divine! the meringue was so creamy and toasted to perfection. I was eyeing the cupcake with the meringue as well amongst all the other lovely desserts. Service was pleasant. We will be back on our next visit to Ashland. read more

Love stopping by when I'm in Ashland! The cashiers and baristas are always very nice and the coffee is good! This time, I got a romesco and manchego sandwich on a baguette which was delicious! read more

Came here for the lemon tart and was not disappointed- terrific meringue with a nice crust to it, lemon custard was tart and sweet. Other desserts looked good and the chocolate chip cookie was fine, but that tart would bring me back again! read more

Oh my! If I lived in Ashland and had a high metabolism, I would come here very often. The gelato is amazing. The staff are cool and kind. After dinner, we decided we wanted some ice cream and found this place. We struck gold! read more

I'd call Mix a go-to spot in Ashland! I went a few times during my first visit to town and enjoyed everything I tried, such as the lattes, pastries, and ice cream! I even grabbed some goodies to bring for the flight home. I loved the variety of items they had for a quick coffee break, dessert run, or even a picnic lunch. It can busy but the lines move along and service is friendly. My favorites were the banana bread latte, jalapeño cheddar scone, and affogato. I will definitely go back the next time I visit Ashland! read more

This is one of my first stops on the first morning I'm here. After my early morning walk through Lithia, I stop here for something delicious to eat. I did inquire about those golden oatmeal cookies but they didn't have them, and they might be seasonal. But if you ever come in here, and they are available, buy at least 4-6. You won't be sorry!!! The worker was friendly, and I ordered a plain croissant, a blueberry scone, and a ginger cookie. When I pulled out my wallet, the guy told me that it was already paid for. What a great surprise for my first morning! To the guy who did this kind gesture, thank you again! It was my graduation weekend and you made it extra special! As always, everything was soooo good! Traditional French Pastries and Baked Goods [Ashland OR] I love bakeries and whether we visit a little town or a big city I always look for a bakery. This was a shop I found in the city of Ashland in Oregon (around 19 miles from the Oregon/California border). We arrived in Ashland around 2:00p. The shop is located in busy Main Street on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was challenging but we got lucky and found a spot almost across the shop and not too far away walk from Lithia Park. Inside has the flair similar to a French café. There was a line and it was a bit crowded. The line went fast though. Service was fast and efficient with a touch of a small town hospitality. The pastry shelf was loaded with yummy treats... I had a difficult time deciding whether I should get a Malted Milk Cake, a Chocolate Croissant, an Almond Croissant or a Morning Bun... okay, well, I solved that problem and I got the Malted Milk Cake, Chocolate Croissant, Almond Croissant and Morning Bun... yes, one of each LoL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The pastries were soft and delicious. We munched on them on our way home. Oh my! They have a location in Reno NV! Much closer than Oregon! But whenever we're back on this side of the region in Southern OR we're definitely stopping by. Busy but delightful little coffee shop. On the outside, the place looks small. Once inside, the coffee shop is deep into the space with bistro tables and chairs. Don't be deceived by its front store exterior. Mix has a variety of breads, cakes, cookies, bars, and signature. I bought cookies and croissants. Their signature drink, Honey Lavender Latte, which I asked cold hit the spot for me. Perfect drink on a hot day in Ashland! We shall return! read more

Mix Bakeshop was nice post-dinner dessert spot. We walked around downtown Ashland before seeing a show nearby, and had stumbled upon Mix Bakeshop for a nice pick-me-up. There was quite a few patrons inside the bakeshop, even around dinner time. My partner and I wanted to share a dessert and saw that they offered house made ice cream and had a full coffee menu. We ordered an affogato with earl grey chocolate chip ice cream, which didn't take long to get. The affogato was just what we needed before seeing a show, with that strong caffeine jolt of espresso. Plus, I love earl grey tea, and the earl grey chocolate chip ice cream was loaded with earl grey flavor, which I loved. If only I could find an earl grey ice cream around me! In addition to ice cream and coffee, there were pastries in the case that looked appetizing, such as tarts, truffles and cakes. Get some! read more
I want to give it 5 stars for the great quality of the desserts and ice cream, and the great price too! The Earl Grey chocolate chip ice cream was so good! The strawberry cake was the best I've ever had--I love it because it's fresh, made with real cream, and not overly sweet! read more

Everything here is OMG delish. I usually eat very little bread but this might be my one indulgence. The pecan roll is to die for, as is the ham n cheese croissant. Don't let the line scare you; they're quick and efficient. read more

I went to this bakery as a tourist. The shop itself is so cute and it's a great place for a date night or solo time. The desserts look so delicious and the peanut butter bar I had was yummy. The staff was also nice too! read more
Delectable baked goodies, pastries & desserts and a variety of coffee drinks here. They have ice cream too. Everything is made with care. They get busy but we didn't wait more than 5 minutes. We had a chocolate hazelnut tart which was delicious and rich and a good size. We also had a coffee which was good and a bottle of sparking water. Nice, clean place with helpful and professional staff. read more

YUM. Really all you need to know... we came by on a Saturday night after having dinner around the corner. Cute little corner shop, looked like they had a good variety of offerings. We decided on baked goods for dessert, as we'd had ice cream earlier. I chose the meringue lemon tart and my husband got the carrot cake. The tart looked like fun, with the cupcake-like toasted meringue on top. It did not disappoint. It was so good! Meringue was like whipped cream and the tart was just right on the tartness. The crust wasn't to be forgotten, it also had good flavor, not like some crusts you just want to leave behind. Husband said the carrot cake was very good as well. Definitely give this place a try. read more

I only have amazing things to say about Mix Bakeshop. On the weekends, it will be exceptionally crowded with a line out the door and for a good reason. Located in the middle of the Ashland downtown square on the corner, you can find Mix. The cozy little bakeshop is home of some amazing sweet treats and drinks. They are best known for the cakes, pastries, and really anything they bake. If it is on the Mix menu, it will be delicious. While their drink menu is less popular, their coffees do not mess around! If it is wintertime, I recommend getting their hot cocoa (with homemade marshmallows of course) after ice skating in Lithia or getting their latte spiked with bourbon then taking a winter walk in the park. If it summer, Mix has some of the BEST ice cream in town! Their unique flavors like earl grey chocolate chip are AMAZING!! Plus they make their own waffle cones. Mix is definitely a more social coffee shop meant for meeting friends and chatting. If you are looking for a quiet place to work, then I would not recommend this location (try their sister coffee house Re-Mix in South Ashland). Overall, Mix is wonderful! read more
