Cassandra was very direct and quick to respond with answers for all the questions I had before purchasing 36 cupcakes and an 8" double round for 40+ people. Turned out 6 days was enough time for Cassandra to conjure something absolutley magical; metallic icing, amazing thick cake texture, sprinkles and glitter as far as the eye can see! I've heard nothing but great things about Cassandra's work but I got to see it first hand and all expectations were met and beyond. The hype is real!! I remember driving into Ashland in the middle of a snowstorm because I had an appointment with my yoga teacher and I do NOT cancel on her. After we finished yoga, I decided to pop in to Dobra tea and get a hot mushroom latte. I sat at one of the tables in the front room looking out at the snow falling. Almost no one was out and it was like being in the middle of a snow globe with a warm cup in my hand. Another time I was there with a friend for lunch. He ordered their avocado toast with egg, which I had never ordered before. He insisted I take a bite, which I graciously agreed to do. The flavors were so exquisite that it immediately became one of my many favorite things to order at Dobra. I learned they make their own English muffins, which is the "toast". Wow!!!!!! The lemon frosting was topped with a fresh blueberry to start. When I unwrapped it, the bottom was more blueberries baked in. When I bit into it, there was a lemon filling! Numerous guests commented on the quality, and most were left uneaten on the tables. After the event, I contacted the owner to discuss my concerns. He asked for time to investigate and stated that he would call me back after speaking with his staff. That call never came, and I ultimately had to contact the bakery again a week later. What followed was extremely disappointing. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or considering that something may have gone wrong with that particular order, the owner repeatedly insisted that the cupcakes could not have been dry because they had been made fresh. My experience, as well as the experience of my guests, was dismissed rather than acknowledged. I was not demanding anything. I simply wanted to discuss a product that failed to meet expectations and hear how the bakery intended to address the situation. Instead, the conversation became confrontational. The owner focused on defending the product rather than understanding the customer's concerns. He made comments about my guests that I found inappropriate and repeatedly implied that my account of what occurred was not credible. At one point, he even stated that he did not understand why anyone would pay $3.50 for a cupcake, despite that being the price his bakery charges. While the owner ultimately issued a refund, the refund does not change the fact that the customer service experience was deeply disappointing. Everyone makes mistakes. Products occasionally miss the mark. What matters is how a business responds when concerns are raised. I also offered to give the bakery another chance and stated that I would be willing to come back and try their products again in case this was simply a one-time issue. The owner responded by telling me that I was no longer welcome in the bakery. That response alone speaks volumes. Based on both the quality of my order and the way this matter was handled, I cannot recommend this bakery.

It's on the bottom of the cake and she then says you didn't see the plastic when you were serving these cakes to these kids? First of all no I did not, omg are you suggesting I was negligent? I cut the cake in wedges from the box and served it flat on a white plate. I remember looking at the plates and did not see it. I did not expect the plastic. I suspect that it was wedged on the side of the cake and it got pushed in. It went unnoticed because if you see the picture it's pretty noticeable, it's an 1.5" piece of paper with plastic tape but if it's in the cake I'm not going to see it. They offered a refund and they can have it. I am dissatisfied with this place and their lack of professionalism. I was an upset mom and they treated me like I was culpable of serving plastics to little kids. To the manager who called me a liar that there was no ingredients on the paper, read it for yourself. I was simply describing what was found in the cake.
