Love Ashland, stopped for snacks and a brief break and was craving some delicious chocolate and Yelp led us here. Very small place with kitchen behind storefront and one young girl working counter. She was very quiet and courteous but didn't offer much in the way of any other information. I was only buying for myself and purchased all dark chocolate (62%) caramel chews with smoked sea salt top. The caramel was very thick and very chewy. My daughter said it was definetly a workout for her jaw! 2 different types of toffee squares, these were okay but nothing spectacular, to me the toffee was a bit off in flavor. I got 2 Almond clusters and the almonds were rancid (now that really threw me...what do you do when you have the taste of rancid nuts in your mouth, ugh! Those 7 chocolates were almost $25 of wasted money but by the time I figured that out we were already out of Oregon and into California or I would have gone back for a refund! I should have just gone to See's Candies in Medford! I was raised on See's and at least they are always consistent and they have great quality control. read more

Happened upon this boutique chocolate confections shop while in Ashland, Oregon. Chatted with the owner. She is lovely, down to earth, and passionate about making delicious and elegant gourmet edible indulgences. I bought a dark chocolate mix of gourmet liquor infused soft centers (I prefer to eat my booze), truffles, and caramels. Tequila never tasted so good. Our family fave was the Exotic Fruit Caramel. I enjoyed all the liquored up ones! I'm so glad I made a u-turn to go to the shop. read more

The pictures of the candies and chocolate on their website look great, and I am sure that if you go to their store their products will be fresh or in better condition... I purchased products directly from Branson's chocolate at the farmers event in Central Point, the bars when I opened the wrappings, the chocolate looked old and unappetizing.... I tried it anyway, it was crumbly, the flavor was good and a little on the sweet end. I would buy it again if the condition of the chocolate was better, not my favorite though. read more

The factory store on the south side of Ashland also has truffles and other candies in addition to the bars. Ashland's very own Branson's Chocolates are a little bit of heaven. I was originally introduced to Branson's by my wife when she came home from the Ashland Chocolate Festival a couple of years ago. She arrived with a sampling of my favorites including milk chocolate peanut clusters, peanut butter cups and a spattering of other goodies, all delicious. Recently they took out a booth in the Ashland Artisan Market I was reintroduced to and they have made it far to easy to acquire. Once a year at the chocolate festival was okay but having them so easily available is downright dangerous. They offer mail order as well as being sold through a few local outlets, to the best of my knowledge they do not have a retail outlet at their factory. Oh yeah, the no sugar added chocolates are every bit as good as their regular product and in some cases possibly better. I purchased no sugar added peanut cluster by mistake and actually prefer them over the regular ones. Trying Branson's chocolate for the first time reminded me of a story Garrison Keillor told about Pastor Ingqvist's trip to Italy with his wife. At dinner, halfway through the mushroom soup, his wife said "I'm NEVER eating Campbell's cream of mushroom soup again". That's how I feel now; I will never eat a Hershey bar again now that I know how good chocolate can be. I read about it in the paper and stopped by and picked up a variety...Peanut clusters, coconut clusters and peanut butter cups....All delectable. But the real stars here are the truffles! Absolutely the best sweets I've ever tasted. Tried the Amaretto, the espresso and the Chambord, all superbly balanced and textured. Treat yourself here, you deserve it. This chocolate is so good, I heard that the Swiss are suing for damaging their national pride. read more

I live 2 blocks from this sinfully delicious supporter of my biggest vice. Not only is the chocolate wonderful, the service and easy access have saved me on numerous occasions when I'm driving home and remember that I forgot. A birthday, a thank you, a please feel better , or some occasion when chocolate is needed. The salted caramels, chocolate sauce, chocolate cherries and whiskey or porter chocolates (you have to wait til valentines or Father's Day) and Ashland nougats, and mints, and did I say caramels? Me and my boyfriend have walked by here a few times, and finally decided to try this place. We got a semi-sweet peanut butter cup, and a small square of tiger butter fudge. The chocolate itself was kind of disappointing. We are both foodies, and really picky about little things like texture and such. He said the peanut butter cup was really hard (like, hard to bite into) and the peanut butter was not smooth at all. it was chunky peanut butter... Everything should be smooth! As for the tiger butter... much too peanut-ey for my taste (I hate peanuts. But love peanut butter. There's a difference, stop judging me). The place is a pretty cute little shop, and you can see where they make everything, which is really neat. And the owner was there, and she was really nice. Everything was pretty decently priced, as well. No worse or better than what you would see in... say, a See's store, or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. But the product itself could be better... I think I will try this place one more time, but I will try their truffles (which are kind of pricey). Hopefully those are better. read more

I love Branson's Chocolates! I've been going there since they opened and their chocolate has spoiled me for any other kind. I never liked fudge until I had theirs--creamy and smooth, not dry and crumbly like everybody else's. Their peanut butter cups and cashew turtles have always been my favorites, until I tried smoked salted caramels last month. I've always preferred milk chocolate, but the smoked salt and the caramel perfectly contrast the dark chocolate, and I have to say they've won me over.
