Delicious lunch on Guanajuato Way. Big portion and very tasty. The mild was a tiny bit spicy.

Wow!!!! What an amazing place that we came across! Thanks to Yelp for finding this place. The name…read morespeaks for itself with their biscuits. The restaurant is huge and open and friendly. We sat down fast and ordered pretty quickly. I ordered a pesto bacon and egg biscuit sandwich it was 10/10. I actually used the raspberry jam my mom got with hers and mixed it with the biscuit which made me end up buying the jam to go. Fresh homemade jam for $8 what a steal!! I fell in love with this restaurant, it's too bad I don't live in Medford or I'd be a frequent customer.

One day we hopped in the car and said, "Let's drive down to Medford for the night." We found a…read morecheap hotel and as chance would have it, this little bakery was right around the corner. It is a small, intimate space where we were greeted with a big smile by the hostess and our waiter came by soon after we were seated. It was a chilly walk around the corner so I was looking for a hot coffee to warm me up. Having never been here before I opted for the special of the day, which was something with lavender in it, and I was surprised at the delicate way the latte both supported the robust coffee flavor and the delicate lavender addition. It was better than I anticipated and I knew that we had stumbled upon a gem of a spot that emphasized quality of what they serve. Now, for breakfast, I love a good gravy but I am always disappointed by my order. The country gravy is usually too thin, to bland, too chunky with some sort of meat product, and too small of quantity to really enjoy a good biscuit with it. With this skepticism in mind, I ordered the "The Works" assuming at the very least, the addition of fried eggs and ham were good enough to eat on its own when the gravy, which I also assume will disappoint me, runs dry. I apologize for my assumptions, ButterCloud Bakery, because I was served a thick, seasoned, peppery gravy and plenty of it. This is actually the best gravy I have ever ordered from a restaurant, if I was not traveling, I might have bought a few sides of this delicious concoction and brought it home for the next several mornings! Nothing skimpy on my plate. My husband ordered the beef and blue and devoured every last bite. I managed to steal a few bites off his plate and was pleasantly surprised, I did not expect to like it as much as I did. I stole a few more bites when he was in the bathroom! We left very satisfied with our meal, our drinks, and our service. Fast forward a few months later and we are traveling with my parents to California and we insisted that we stopped by ButterCloud Bakery to share our gem of a find. My mom considers herself quite the cook and she also was skeptical of the gravy. One bite and her eyes popped...she was also impressed. This time round I had the scone and gravy and enjoyed every last bite. My mom tried a specialty hot chocolate and I, again, had the latte special of the day, both were rich with flavor. Our second round at ButterCloud Bakery did not disappoint and we have decided it will be our go-to spot when we are in the area, there is still a lot of menu items to try!

A Leap of Taste was one of the few spots open, and after seeing all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. The ambiance is really cute and cozy -- lots of decor, lighting, and seating that makes it feel welcoming and comfortable. Service was also quick and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered the Green Machine smoothie and a matcha, and both were really good and definitely a highlight of our visit. Where the experience fell a bit short for us was the food. While the presentation was great, the taste didn't quite match expectations. The breakfast tacos listed potatoes, but they ended up being more like tater tots, and the tortillas weren't warm -- my friend wasn't very fond of them. I ordered the #5 sandwich, which was described as being on jalapeño toast, but it came on regular toast instead, along with a pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was okay -- not bad, but something I could easily make at home. For the two drinks and two food items, we paid around $40, which felt a bit high considering the overall food experience. I can see why this place is well-loved by locals -- it fits the neighborhood vibe and likely appeals to the regular crowd -- but as visitors, the food didn't quite live up to the hype for us. Overall, it's a cute spot with great drinks, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I'd probably come back for beverages, but I'd skip the food next time

So we thought we'd have breakfast there before we headed out. The atmosphere is very hip, but that's about it. The mocha was decent, but not awesome. The Americano, the same. My wife got the Monkey Bread because it looked the moistest of the pastries (they all looked very dry). Even heated, it was dry. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which is one of the more popular menu items. It was very average. And mine got mixed up with another order, so I had to go ask for it. My wife was waiting to eat her pastry until my order came so we could actually eat breakfast together, so her already-dry monkey bread was no longer warm. All in all a very average experience. Not awful, but not great.

The bacon comes crisp, the pancakes fluffy, the omelettes delicate, and the hash browns seared beautifully. Beyond that, they push their menu to incorporate delicious, more elevated ingredients. The smoked bacon omelette is a banger. If you like the carmelized flavor of French onion soup, you'll love this! So rich and deep with umami flavor, melding with diced bacon and fontina cheese. The Belgian waffle is also intense with bits of walnut and bacon baked in, which collides beautifully with hot maple syrup. So delicious! Lastly, I like to champion breakfast spots that have the courage to deliver expertly done hash browns. Breadboard doesn't even try, with the usual "home fries" cop-out (that nobody loves but will tolerate). Brothers serves hash browns, but they're usually soggy and falling apart. Not the case here. You get a nice, flat, crisp, rigid slab of hashbrowns, ready to accompany your main. Overall this is my number one spot for an Ashland breakfast. Definitely worth the small drive from downtown.
