Omg The place is super nice, and the food is delicious!. The lady was excellent and nice music

Great service. Our party of three all thought our food was good. We got fried gyoza and prawn tempura appetizers. Beef teriyaki with vegetable tempura, miso ramen, stone pot bibim bap, and a caterpillar roll, which was better than I've had in a long time. I wish I could go back often to try more items on the menu, but I live hundreds of miles away. read more

I use DoorDash to have this delivered and we are in Medford. Still the quality by the time that it got to us was superb. The fish is so fresh. We ordered three different rolls. Needless to say there was no leftovers. Butterfly Roll was off the chain! A must try if you like salmon read more

I'm exploring my new home town(s) and checking out places that might go overlooked. Sushi & Bento is such a place: in a strip mall with that mirrored stuff all over the windows, which always puts me a bit off as I can't see inside before opening the door. However, inside is clean, comfortable and friendly. I ordered a lunch Teriyaki Veggie and Tofu Bento, which the very friendly woman helping me made vegan by substituting the gyoza for 3 fried rolls and the California roll for a veggie roll for a modest price increase. I was honestly very pleasantly surprised. The meal was generous, freshly made with quality ingredients and delicious! Another wonderful meal that honestly could have gone either way based on my parking lot first impression. Upgraded bento and green tea:$22. read more

Sushi & Bento - Vegetable and Tofu Teriyaki Bento--YUM! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Phoenix, Oregon

Its ok; decent takeout, but doesn't really stand out for the price. Nice staff, and gets it done, convenient location.

A SOLID 3-stars. Food is still good. Service is a-ok. Portions got a little smaller and prices have gotten a little higher after the cosmetic remodel. STILL a family owned business, still serving quality Americanized Japanese food. Still a fan, but no longer my go to for sashimi. The bento box is STILL a good option for picky eaters of all ages *smiles* For reference: 8 slivers of vegetables deep fried in tempura batter for ~$1/slice. Toroko in Ashland provides an overfilled basket of tempura veggies w/ dipping sauce (12-15 pieces) for $6. Downtown Ashland prices and slightly smaller portions, but located in a strip mall in Phoenix several miles away *great freeway access off of HWY 5, EXIT 24* Take-out still seems to be their primary clientele *not a bad thing* read more

Sushi as good as Kobe in Ashland at pre-pandemic prices. Went here on a date night, even though it's in a strip mall. We've eaten a LOT of sushi in the US and Japan, and this was excellent! I had a salmon bento box (previewing for our next visit with daughter - her favorite) that came with miso, salad, rice, 4pc California roll, and three crispy potstickers for $21. Wife had an Alaska Roll with crab, avocado, cucumber, salmon, and thinly-sliced lemon for $15. Large and excellent. Plus, they use organic vegetables. read more

Nice little restaurant in a strip mall. I've driven by at least 100 times and never noticed it. My husband isn't a sushi fan so we both got Bento boxes. Everything was excellent including the little bit of sashimi on my plate. Next time I'll try a roll. The portions are great and the prices seemed reasonable. read more

Get the Korean short ribs plate! I've had short ribs from a lot of places, but this lady makes the best. Also best white rice texture I've had. Great combo! read more

BEST sushi we've had near Ashland. Great variety of rolls all packed with fresh tasty fish and accompaniments. Highly recommend!

Located in the left back corner of a small plaza, Sushi & Bento is a clean & well-maintained shop. The family running the restaurant is friendly. Food is prepared on order, so you know it's freshly made. Prices are a bit steep-- which I found surprising since you'd expect food in Oregon to be less expensive than California's pricey Silicon Valley or LA. In terms of food, I can only speak for the beef bento (~$13). You get an array of small samplers including miso soup, potstickers, California roll sushi, salad, rice, and stir-fried beef. PROS: The beef is the highlight. They use a sweet & tangy sauce that pairs fantastically with the meat & onions. If I could get a bowl of just this, I would. The rice is perfectly cooked & puffy with a nice chew. The mixed salad is a crisp and refreshing. CONS: The potstickers have a strange minced filling that tastes grainy and mass-produced. I understand it can be difficult to have freshly-made dumplings on hand, but I would recommend to the shop to change whatever potsticker brand it currently uses. The imitation crab in the sushi consists of finely shredded & mushy threads-- which makes me question its quality :( Never have I ever seen imitation crab made like that... and I've had a lot of sushi throughout my life. Miso soup also lacks contents (no tofu or seaweed). Overall, I didn't find my bento to be worth the price paid. Other Yelpers seem to really enjoy the sushi here though, so perhaps that would be a better option than the bentos. read more

The $15.95 dinner meal. Went in at 1:45 for lunch asked for Korean ribs I feel I got taken. Lunch price was $13.95. If this is dinner I hate to see the lunch size it must be two strips or ribs, half scoop of rice and less than a cup of salad. I also asked for nigiri 4. Flying fish row (tobiko) got octopus 7. Even though I pointed to it on menu. The people are super friendly but I will never go back since the was the second time I tried there food and both times weird stuff like this happened. Food was good but not for the price. read more

Great little place and cheap for what it is. Good for kids with kid options

I enjoyed my dinner teriyaki salmon Bento dish, the tea was good, miso soup was lovely as well. However, for this rather higher priced bento item the piece of salmon was not large at all, and was only seasoned with the sprinkle of sauce you see on the photo, from the taste of it. If there were less greens or even if they skipped the California roll but added a good value size piece of salmon, I'd order this again. read more

Frequent visitor. Food is nothing short of fantastic. The service is hit or miss depending on the mood they're in that day, still worth it.

good for the price' miso was flavorful, flavor punch. Good. The one problem, it was hardly any. I ate it in three spoonfuls. The salad was slightly warm but was paired with a traditional Japanese dressing. The bento box itself contained California rolls, pot stickers with sauce, white rice and spicy pork. All of which was bland, but still tasty. The spicy pork has a kick. The California rolls came with a bit of wasabi For $12, this meal is banging for a cowboys bucking. Update: just ordered from them again and received a pathetic amount of soup and salad without any dressing. Very disappointed. Removing a star. read more

When we went, there seem to be only one staff member, but she seem to be efficient took care of us. We had California roll, avocado, roll, and edamame and seaweed salad. All the food was very good and the beer was very cold in and the prices are very reasonable for a Sushi place. read more

Newest fan! I can't believe I waited so long to try out Sushi and Bento. Last night I popped in to get a roll and was immediately greeted by delicious smells and friendly smiles from this small family business. The menu has a good variety and prices are reasonable. I chose the Sun and Moon roll and it was so good I'm still thinking about it today. read more

I don't understand the positive reviews here. I am not a fan all and actually genuinely very upset. Guess I just threw $100 down the drain. For starters my daughter is a little picky so I ordered her yakisoba noodles and requested that there was only bean sprouts on it and it says on the app if there wasn't any available requests I would receive a call. No call and they smothered the yakisoba in mayonnaise which is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. And all the rolls are ordered just taste like mush. The scallops don't taste right at all. The seaweed salad also tasted like theres was mold in it. If I could give this place 0/5 I would. Don't eat here or maybe don't order to go because they give you the bad food. read more

A great family run sushi restaurant. The sushi and sashimi are delicious and the family is the best.

OMG so good! how has the business been around for so long without me knowing?! I was having a bad day and needed sushi so i checked doordash and this place popped up with good reviews. I was nervous because they are in Phoenix and i'm in Medford but went for it and DAMN ITS GOOD. I like "cheater" sushi so keep that in mind (california roll and deep fried stuff is my favorite) the firecracker is BOMB. Please support this business they are awesome! read more

I have always got great food from this place! My go to is the spicy pork bento and the yellowtail nigiri. Super good food. 100 pct worth supporting these guys. Been getting food here for 3 or 4 years now and it's a great local spot. Give them a shot! read more

This is the first time I tried this place. I'm always happy to see another sushi place open. I stopped in for lunch. Tried the lunch special beef bowl. The flavor was pretty good. A little on the sweet too side. The beef was very tough. It really gave my jaw a workout. $2.00 for a tiny bottle of ice tea was a little steep. The place is clean and bright. I'll be back to try the sushi and post an update. read more

Came here by chance on my birthday because everything else was closed by the time we got to searching. We couldn't believe what a tremendous find this place was. They welcomed us in even though it was almost closing time and the staff was cheerful, kind and went above and beyond. Best of all the sushi was delicious! We got a few different plates and ended up ordering double on one that we could not get enough of. Fresh fish, perfect sauces, and super hospitable staff. We will definitely be back! read more

Sushi & Bento - Presentation was awesome! Sushi was delicious! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Phoenix, Oregon

This place went downhill right after COVID shut them down. When they reopened, everything was different. The menu is not the same. Sushi photos, that were once hanging up on their walls, are gone and so is the delicious sushi that was depicted. We started off with an order of cold Sake: our server had no idea what it was but we pointed it out to him. Then came our shrimp tempura; it was panko covered, frozen shrimp you can purchase at any grocery store. Worst part was that it wasn't even completely fried. It was cold in spots. Our sushi rolls were cold, (pre-rolled?) with all the fried parts (soft shell crab and such) badly over fried and over breaded. WTH. The rolls were sloppy; the rice looked and felt different. I stopped eating and just put the lid on my same and asked for the check. I think that they're under new ownership and one of the sushi chefs left because the fish on one of our rolls was badly cut, not cut the way a sushi chef would do. What a disappointment. It was so expensive for low quality ingredients and sub par presentation. Thumbs down. read more

This place is awesome, totally blown away by how good the food is. Owners are super nice and friendly with good service.

This may very well be the best, highest quality sushi in southern Oregon. My friend and I came here for an early dinner. We ordered the Dragon Roll, the Yummy Roll, Tuna, Salmon and Steamed Pot Stickers. Everything was very high quality and absolutely delicious. Brian is an experienced sushi chef, having worked in both Los Angeles and Seattle. Very friendly too. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were as well. If you're in the mood for sushi, and only the best will do - head on over to Sushi & Bento. You'll be glad you did! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Sushi & Bento - Hungry scallop roll and it's absolutely delicious!! Fried California roll with fried scallops on top and great sauces. A must get! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Phoenix, Oregon

This place is right next door to me so I've tried it a few times. The first time I got it my sushi was so covered in sauce it was disgusting I brushed it off thinking it was just that roll the next time I went there I got a different roll but the same thing just covered in gross sauce and the fish just didn't look right. My third and final time there I got a roll with no sauce and I honestly think it's just the grossest sushi I've ever had lmao. The fish wasn't cut right and for some reason there was a hard texture to the fish??? Idk what's wrong with the fish but it doesn't taste or look right. For the prices of the sushi it is not worth it at all. The sushi looks unsafe and I do not recommend unless you want to Risk your health trying this shit read more

amazing food!! Great family restaurant and good for kids!!! I definitely recommend there sushi was amazing!!

Great and fresh sushi, family owned and ran. Quiet and intimate atmosphere great for a date and middle of the road prices for high end nigiri and rolls. The chicken bento was alao quite good and the cali rol S with it, which i usually hate, were actually tasty, good sauces as well. read more

We just ordered ramen off of DoorDash and it came with mushy noodles, a mangled hard boiled egg and the taste was not it at all.

This small restaurant serves the standard sushi and bentos with specials for the nearby high school students. We ordered the chicken bento with salad, miso soup, chicken, gyoza, rice and California roll. The salad lettuce with two cherry tomatoes and slivers of carrot was better than average. The soup was thin and what yo'd expect from a cheap miso soup packet. A thin, not so-so-sweet teriyaki sauce was poured over the tender chicken and in a cup for the gyoza, that latter was okay. The sushi was okay too. read more

To the Owner: Went there for lunch today. Miso soup was cold. Vegetable tempura was cold. I've been a customer since you opened but the last 2 times I've been there it's gone down hill..the waitresses really dont have their act together. They forget what you order too...I wish they would just write down what you order since they cant remember it. It was worth the $40 we paid for lunch. Won't be back....at least for awhile. I'm giving you 4 stars because you used to have better food....hope you train your waitresses to serve hot food. read more

Had to eat here three times before I could be sure, but this is hands down my favorite sushi in The Valley. The rolls are gorgeous, fresh, reasonably priced and the owners are very friendly and gracious. Chef/owner Brian Kim was a sushi chef in LA and Seattle before setting here in the valley with his wife, and his food is fresh and creative. Highly recommend! BEST firecracker I have ever eaten. Best ramen in the valley. Great inexpensive meat/rice bowls for lunch (5.95). Love it and excited to have an awesome place to eat in Phoenix! read more
