    Spicy Noodle Soup (Lamb)
    Shawn S.

Lamb spicy soup was good and similar to ones I have had in China - it's got Chinese dishes on top of Vietnamese - there is vermicelli and pho but not much Vietnamese rice dishes on the menu. Good anyway

Credentials: grew up getting food in little saigon in socal. Best and only authentic pho in the Rogue Valley! The broth is divine and they load you up with high quality fresh veg in the veggie pho. Brisket pho is great too. All of their other dishes are amazing too. I go the spicy hot dumpling sauce (more of a dumpling soup) and have also tried the garlic udon noodles. It seems they are still tweaking things - cucumber salad was different the second time I ordered it, but still great. Of their milk teas I have only had the Thai tea, but it tastes like actual tea and not powder, which a lot of boba shops use. You can definitely taste the difference. Service is quick and friendly. They are all super nice. I hope they are prosperous and stay open for a very long time.

Most of the Vietnamese restaurants are family run businesses. But Mr Pho is a chained restaurant with friendly staffs and robots serving the dishes. Though I didn't see the robots in action, but the pho was pretty good. The briskets pho has plenty of briskets. Seatings are plenty as well as the parking space. I think they will do well.

    Singapore Stir-Fried Noodles with Chicken

Sept 29th was their soft opening, so I went to check it out. Everything from this point on is made in present tense reference because I was describing it in the moment: It feels way more open (they took over what used to be a Pizza Hut) because of the lighter flooring & white-painted bricks. Obviously a little disorganized due to this is their first day; there wasn't a sign suggesting "seat yourself" or otherwise, but the owner (who also runs Happy Bowl in Ashland) waved his hand to do so. Also took a bit to get a menu- lots of tables around me are dirty even though they seem to have been vacant for a while. The men running everything (only two people, which is nuts) have certainly been nice, though I've had to make some assumptions because it's hard to hear them- not to say the music is 'loud' per se, just that it's louder than how they've addressed me. It adds to the ambience, though, so once you've ordered the atmosphere feels homely. You get a paper menu that's front/back only; looks pretty good- & lots of GF options. (Only just got water 15 minutes after sitting down, could use work on that) It's a little weird, looking around at my table, that not all of them have chopsticks or napkins available (mine included)- all the condiments, sure (hoisin, shoyu, chili crisp, sriracha) & a display for "feedback for mgt? Scan the QR code"... but that's it. Seems inconsistent. I ordered their Singapore Stir-Fried Noodles with chicken- more like they asked "with chicken?" I hadn't even thought of the protein & mostly didn't want to take up more time. Nice thing was it was rather quick- 10 minutes, maybe- fairly simple rice noodles with cabbage, carrot & (I think) onion with sliced chicken in a vibrant curry sauce. It's tasty, albeit salty, so the hoisin is a great touch of balance. Bathrooms are, apparently, ONE long stall. Not exactly ideal for multiple people, but it works for me. There's, also, no personality to the space- again, 'not like that's a bad thing', but it's boring otherwise- just white walls & some cleaning supplies that didn't get put away (who leaves toilet bleach sitting by the toilet?). The biggest drawback this place suffers from is time management- which I know, theoretically, will get better the longer it's around... but today seems especially slow. I, also, feel like having the multiple entrances makes it harder to flag staff down about seating... not like it's a bad thing, again, just feels disorganized... speaking of, do they want me to come up & pay like in Ashland? Am I supposed to wait for the check? Again, it's disorganized. The single dish ran for $13.95- not bad for a pile (& I DO mean 'pile') of noodles! Including tip, it ran for $17 even. I imagine it'll be hopping & bopping once they find their groove- in the meantime, this was fun & I wish them well.

When I got home I saw they charged me %20 large party fee. I was really put off but o was ready for some great food. I only ordered 2 things. $60. An appetizer of teriyaki chicken skewers. They were not marinated or anything, not cooked in sauce, nothing. It was reg, plain tasting chicken. They added a side of teriyaki sauce but I was very thin and lacked flavor and didn't add to the dish at all. Bummed. Then I got the shrimp pad Thai. The noodles were so over cooked they just disintegrated. There was no heat option so it was bland and no spice whatsoever. So with all that I was even more annoyed I paid $10 mandated tip for crap food. Never again. Stay away unless you dine in and can get waited on for a tip and they can fix their errors. Do not prefer to go.

Cons: A bit pricey and parking can be hard to find. Overall: 4.68/5 I got the spicy ramen and it was way better than anything I was expecting it to be! The ramen noodles felt similar to what instant ramen noodles feel like which kind of threw me off, but the broth was so incredibly flavorful. The toppings and amount of food was also great. I barely finished my bowl and my partner couldn't finish hers. It was a bit on the pricey side but was well worth it. We also got the veggie tempura which was decent but I don't think I would order it again personally, but my partner really enjoyed it! Would recommend. Would go again.

The restaurant was still busy, with one large group of about ten people wrapping up their meal and three four-top tables just getting their food. The, and I selected the 12-piece menu item, was really good, but I do wish there was more variety of fish in a 12-piece dish. Miso is served with the sashimi but rice is not. I also ordered the Ikura Nigiri and it was great - salmon roe was very cold though (needs to be stored at a certain temp, I get it) so I waited for it to not feel frozen before finishing the second piece. Overall, great serving size but I don't know if I'd get the same sashimi again since you only get four kinds of fish for a rather high cost. I tried asking the server what the difference was between the 9 and 12 piece and they did say "more of the same but better" and I'm still not sure what it means so the next time they update the menu they really should offer more detail on this item.

Well, it's definitely not Sauce anymore which is sad tbh…read more Other than the dumb new name, the menu is very similar but different. No more kale chips (the best ever btw!), way less sauces to choose from, the fridges are all empty, the sautéed cabbage sucks when it used to have flavor and was cooked well and now is basically raw, I could go on. Btw you're supposed to remove the stems on kale, not serve it to customers w stems! They removed all the lamps and fun wall paint in the bathrooms and looks like a generic boring cold bright light white walls bathroom. ***The chicken is much, much better tho so I'll give them that. I wont be surprised if soon they repaint the walls white too and take down all the wood. It has a very medford conservative energy now with people pretending to be hippies wearing ponchos they just bought etc. So that's awkward. Definitely waaaay different energy.. not inna good way. I appreciate what they offer food wise though with veggies and dairy free desserts so I will definitely return. The music SUCKS now. Sauce used to be such a cool vibe with indie music and even classical and jazz etc. Now it is top 40's pop and country-pop. Just god awful. The drama that came from this revision is very interesting also... something like the owners husband and wife, husband cheated on wife with the now new co-owner who is supposedly also married and the ex-wife has chronic illness and was basically blindsided and then bought out. It's all really messy and gives a bad energy. Probably why it is empty every time we've been since the change... Sauce used to always be packed.. we also would always buy the frozen soups and salads etc in addition to our meals ordered but now spend less bc nothing in fridges to buy! Anyway, I hope they stay open for the food bc not much else like it in the valley but hOm, please don't forget the loyal following of Sauce and completely obliterate its energy. Please dont paint everything white and black. We need color and creativity and community. Not cold pretend hippie energy. Sauce was packed constantly for a reason... don't lose sight of why and why you're always empty now facing closure...
