O'Ryan's appears to be the local's favorite dive bar, considering the number of people that were crammed in here on a Saturday night. We'd been walking up and down Main Street, and had stopped in to a few places, and O'Ryan's was our last before heading back to our hotel. After explaining to the manager why I was taking pictures (for Yelp, of course!), we ordered a couple drinks from the bar, and settled in for some people watching. We were pretty exhausted from the days' events, or we probably would have been more engaged and social, but we still enjoyed our time here. My Old Fashioned was strong and cheap; exactly what I would expect from an Irish bar. My wife has been abstaining from alcohol lately, but still ordered a mocktail to sip on, while we soaked up the atmosphere. O'Ryan's was crowded and noisy (old man me talking), or packed and lively (young me talking), depending on how you like your dive bars. Fortunately, I'm still closer to the latter than the former, but your mileage may vary. Of course, if you are coming to an Irish bar on a Saturday night, you better know what you're walking into: rowdy, crowd-y, and down to party. Don't make any early morning plans, because you'll be out all night!

This is a really nice spot in Ashland! It's a go to for locals to enjoy good drinks, atmosphere and karaoke. We went here and encountered the college stundent scene of indulgence and fun. Great time! Be warned though! ***** The cops out here are INSANE. I didn't have anything to drink but made the mistake of parking out front the bar. Within seconds of leaving I was pulled over and harassed by a cop who "knew" I was intoxicated. It was an very scary experience. So if you come here to drink, call an uber!

11/25/2018. Dropped in waiting for a movie. Had a couple of drinks. Found it strange that an Irish Pub would have so much gaming but I guess that's what the customers want? The bar was clean. Very few people on a Sunday evening. New manager was looking at the inventory as we were there. He was very open about how they were improving. Hopefully new manager will make changes to get this pub hopping every night!

Local spot with great ambiance and fun and friendly folks. There is no food but you can bring it in. Pool tables are a plus.

O'Ryan's is the perfect stop on a hot evening before dinner and/or a play. Air conditioned to perfection. Not too crowded or too noisy.

It was clean and the bartender was nice but it was crazy loud. Drinks were fine but not a place I'd want to spend the whole evening.

I love that the restaurant store front is opened wide, it makes it easy to approach and order at the counter. They have a very large variety of alcoholic drink options and some very tasty non alcoholic options as well. Even though we sat outside about 5 tables down, they still came by to deliver our food to us instead of having us waiting inside. The food was amazing. Meat was juicy, bread was perfect, both the sides of fries and house made chips were delicious. The ranch tasted like it was house made as well but I forgot to ask them. My cider was great and my partner got a strawberry slushy- both did not disappoint. The overall theme inside is adorable! It's got a lot of wooden pieces and a camping trailer inside really ties the theme together nicely. There is plenty of tables and shade outside and lots of indoor seating as well. Bathrooms are super clean and clearly well maintained by the folded toilet paper roll. The only thing I will say is if you're going to sit outside expect outside things to happen. There was a lot of flying debris from around the creek due to someone down the way doing outdoor maintenance. Despite this, my partner and I thought it was worth it to hear the running water and be in such a beautiful area for lunch. I would scream my recommendation from the roof top if I could. Thank you for a great meal!

Location, location, location!…read more At Skout tap house all three meanings are working in the restaurant's favor. First, Ashland is a great LOCATION to grab a bite before braving the mountain passes on either side. Within the town the Skout building is LOCATED at the edge of the creek and beautiful Lithia park, and finally the Skout LOCATION itself is a building comfortably decorated with a camping themed ambiance. We ordered the Ultra Meltathon (grilled cheese), a Brisket sandwich, and truffle fries. The Skout version of a grilled cheese, augmented with bacon and jam, was the standout for us. The thin cut and crispy truffle fries were also very good and were gobbled up quickly. On the other hand the brisket was a bit dry but serviceable today rather than a standout. Maybe add some bbq sauce to elevate it a bit? I loved the curated craft beers on tap so check these out if so inclined. See the pics for a glimpse of the roll-up door window that opens to the park, the inside tables and camper, and of course the food. Probably a 4.5 but rounded to 5 stars because of ... location, location, location!

Host staff was very hospitable which is always a plus upon arrival. HH was happening when we arrived so we chose the herb dough bites off that menu, along with 2 house chardonnays. Dough bites were underwhelming to say the least. Some were hard and some were soft and chewy. They were served with a grainy Dijon mustard and some sort of an aioli sauce. Marinara sauce would have been more appropriate. On to the entrees. I chose the ahi tuna salad and my hubby went with a basic burger. His opinion ... just a burger. Fries were fresh and yummy. My ahi tuna salad came with passion fruit vinaigrette and unfortunately it was super tart and not good at all. Make sure to have them give you a taste before you commit. I asked for a side of balsamic dressing but unfortunately the passion fruit one was already overwhelming it. I know not to order seafood in bar and grill but I thought I was safe with it incorporated in a salad. My advice ... stick with the basics ... beer and a burger !!!

We went in at dinner time on a Thursday. We were seated right away without a reservation, but you can make one online. I could see them being busy on a weekend or a busier part of the season. There are tables for groups from 2-6. They also had some pinball and other games in the back (as well as some board games in a side room). We didn't find out the ins and outs of the games, but it makes it feel like a place you are welcome to stay at for a while. They had a great kids menu. Our girls both wanted pizza and the observant server recommended they share a pizza because they are not small. It was accurate and kept us from having a whole leftover pizza, even though the prices were reasonable and it would have been a good value. The two adults shared the spicy cauliflower from the appetizer menu and the quesacarnitas tacos. Both were seasoned well, very flavorful, and all around delicious. The cauliflower wasn't super spicy, but it was super tasty so we weren't mad. The place is a brewery but we had cocktails. My husband said it was the best margarita he had on our trip and tasted like it was made with quality ingredients. My Paloma was also good! Overall, we were super pleased with our visit. Gluten free items are marked clearly and there is also a gluten free bun and pizza crust to choose from. Highly recommend before or after a play or a day of shopping in the Main Street area of Ashland.
