STAY AWAY FROM THIS PUB! I sat down by myself at a hi-top table in this Pub at 5:30 pm Friday night August 9th in order to celebrate my 77th birthday. It's now 6:20 pm. The only server is the bartender, who has never even given me eye contact. There have been 3-8 other guests at the bar since I arrived, seem like locals. No one has attended me and I have been totally ignored by the bartender as other guests have arrived, been served and left. read more

O'Ryan's appears to be the local's favorite dive bar, considering the number of people that were crammed in here on a Saturday night. We'd been walking up and down Main Street, and had stopped in to a few places, and O'Ryan's was our last before heading back to our hotel. After explaining to the manager why I was taking pictures (for Yelp, of course!), we ordered a couple drinks from the bar, and settled in for some people watching. We were pretty exhausted from the days' events, or we probably would have been more engaged and social, but we still enjoyed our time here. My Old Fashioned was strong and cheap; exactly what I would expect from an Irish bar. My wife has been abstaining from alcohol lately, but still ordered a mocktail to sip on, while we soaked up the atmosphere. O'Ryan's was crowded and noisy (old man me talking), or packed and lively (young me talking), depending on how you like your dive bars. Fortunately, I'm still closer to the latter than the former, but your mileage may vary. Of course, if you are coming to an Irish bar on a Saturday night, you better know what you're walking into: rowdy, crowd-y, and down to party. O'Ryan's is the perfect stop on a hot evening before dinner and/or a play. Air conditioned to perfection. Not too crowded or too noisy.

This is a really nice spot in Ashland! It's a go to for locals to enjoy good drinks, atmosphere and karaoke. We went here and encountered the college stundent scene of indulgence and fun. Great time! Be warned though! ***** The cops out here are INSANE. I didn't have anything to drink but made the mistake of parking out front the bar. Within seconds of leaving I was pulled over and harassed by a cop who "knew" I was intoxicated. It was an very scary experience. So if you come here to drink, call an uber! read more

Lovely little spot in downtown Ashland on the main road of this little city. The entrance is reminiscent of the old school buildings of a time gone by. The Xmas lights and overall atmosphere is unique for the area and the staff is friendly, serving quick drinks and bar food. The folks that visit this place remind me of a Cheers episode; diverse, varied conversations as it is a mix of college kids, retirees and laborers and of course tourists. It's my favorite dive bar (but it's Ashland so not truly dive-y). read more

I'm not sure why this is called an Irish Pub, but it's a perfectly fine drinking establishment despite its confusing title. I loved the music selection that was playing the night I visited: Thrift Shop, Colt 45, Can't Stop the Feeling... it was a fun vibe. The bartendress said she was cooking up a new pizza, so my hubby wanted to wait for a slice. After 20min we found out she never did, so we left. It's not a highlight of my visit to Ashland, but it was an alright stop. read more

11/25/2018. Dropped in waiting for a movie. Had a couple of drinks. Found it strange that an Irish Pub would have so much gaming but I guess that's what the customers want? The bar was clean. Very few people on a Sunday evening. New manager was looking at the inventory as we were there. He was very open about how they were improving. Terrible experience walking into this bar with two good friends, all of us well-dressed in either button-down shirts or dresses, and excited to grab a drink after work. We were immediately yelled at by the bartender who jumped out from behind the bar yelling "HEY YOU! HEY! HEY!" as we walked from the entrance to the long bar where he was stationed. He actually stopped serving other patrons to do this. We asked him to stop yelling and to "please treat us like fellow humans" as we assured him we were well over 21 (I'm 32) and we immediately all got our IDs out to show him. The whole scene was totally unnecessary. We never refused to show our IDs nor did we walk past any visible bouncer. His response as he looked at our IDs, "Or I could just ask you to leave." We told him that if he thought it best to turn away business, to go head and ask us to leave. He agreed. End result was that we were all kicked out before we made it 20 feet into the bar, which is beyond belief. This employee was an embarrassment to the bar and should not be working with the public. We asked to speak to the manager about this treatment, to which he proudly said he was the manager. So no help there. I asked if he wanted the business to make money, and he said, "Not from you." Bystanders who witnessed the interaction came up to us to essentially apologize on behalf of the bar, though they were just customers. Don't go here. Ever. Better bars downtown like Creekside, Caldera, Brickroom, and Granite. read more

I would give it 0 stars if I could. It looks more like a biker bar than an Irish pub. We went in on a slow Sunday night when there were a handful of people at the bar. We sat at a table across from the bar. We saw 2 people working and another person bringing a box in to the bar. They talked to each other and to others at the bar. No one ever acknowledged us. The bartender walked into the back, or to the office off to the side, came out and never came over to help us. After almost 10 minutes, we left. My husband heard someone say, "Thanks for coming." I've been here several times and each time was worse than the time before. Weekends it is well past capacity and week nights the bartenders are jerks. I was there recently on a weeknight and the bartender was straight rude to me, despite the fact that my friend and I ordered several drinks and are generally low-key and well tipping customers. The thing that startled me the most was the lack of concern or care for the patrons as I watched a young girl teeter back and forth on her barstool with her eyes barely able to stay open. I told her friend she needed to take her home and told the bartender the girl had been clearly over-servered. He snapped back at me "we don't use the 'o' word here" and went on his way, not paying any concern to the young girl who was now being dragged outside. Hey ipub, you know what "o" word I'm about to use? OLCC. You need to take care of your customers, liquor is not a joke, it can kill people and these young college kids are turning 21 and don't know what their actual limits are yet: THAT IS YOUR JOB. read more

Never again. I actually found myself feeling offended by this place after sitting inside for about two minutes. "Irish Pub" does NOT mean "We don't know how to cut people off here", it does not mean "place full of drunks", it does not mean "if you still have cash, then you haven't been over-served". I am continually baffled as to why it is apparently okay to adopt a racist attitude concerning Irish people. As a person of largely Irish decent, I really am offended by this place. Firstly, there is NOTHING even remotely Irish about the place, I don't even think they have an Irish beer in the house- they certainly have none on tap. The patron base seems to be the drunk and over-served crowd, which I am guessing is what qualifies this place as "Irish" in the mind of the proprietor. Now, as you read this review you might think that I'm some elitist twat that just hates any "real" bar, and I assure you that this is absolutely not the case. I do love a GOOD dive bar from time to time, but this place just isn't cool at all. It has no real character. Everything in the place is generic and dull. There was no soap in the men's room, and there hadn't been any for at least a week is what I heard from another patron. If this place (I can't even bring myself to type the name, it so offends me) would just suck it up, realize that it's nothing but a sorry divey hole, loose the Irish moniker and call themselves a bar, public house, tavern or just about anything other than an Irish pub, then I don't think I would be offended by this place... But get real- this place is not an Irish pub. it is a sorry hole, and I won't be back if I can help it. To qualify as an Irish pub (in my mind at least), you have to have Irish beers. You have to have Irish food items. You have to attempt to provide a classy atmosphere. This place 100% fails on all three counts. I really don't think you could pay me to go back there. read more

While this is a nice venue, there are signature drinks on the menu that not all the bartenders working knew how to make. In particular, my personal favorite, the Old Fashioned, none of the two on staff could make one. In my opinion, you don't belong behind a bar if you can't make this quite basic cocktail. I don't care if you have to Google it on the spot, or look at your training manual, whatever. Karaoke was fun though! read more

For some reason I didn't safe coming into this place. I went for a karaoke night a while ago and everything was just like your average pub, cheap beer, juke box, and pool. I wasn't sure what made it an "Irish" pub besides a few decoration on the wall, but I went specifically for a Guinness on tap and the bar tender told me they didn't have it, (to put it nicely). After a few drunken songs and some cheap beer I witness a barfight that ended up with a cue ball being thrown across the room and blood all over the karaoke machine. Maybe i'm just not used to how things are done in Ashland, but that was enough for me to stumble to the next place. read more

This is my favorite bar ever. It's dark, it's cheap, and there's usually some shitty metal on the jukebox. This is where the William Shatner-lookin fool (poor man's version, of course) will chat you up (aka scare the cheap beer out of you) and you can make the clothes fall off a virtual girl on one of those computer game / gambling machines. There's also pool tables, which are moved off to the side on Saturday nights to make room for the dj and the strobe-lit dancefloor. But really, who cares about all of that nonsense. They have dollar beers, either PBR or Coors Light, on Thursday nights until midnight and on Saturdays they have dollar jello shots. I'm guessing they choose to do jello on Saturdays so you don't spill all your stuff while you're grinding up on William Shatner. A lot of cheap college kids at I-Pub like myself, as well as a lot older down and outs. Last time I walked by, there was a girl passed out at the window table with her tramp stamp showing. Some person came in and over my shoulder obnoxiously combed his hair in the mirror and said, "You know who's son I am?!" Dark, dirty, smells bad, lots of flies, dirty bathrooms, bad service, riff raff, homeless backpackers, drunk goth types, dark souls, and demonically possessed people. How can you not love this place? The staff sucks except for 2 bartenders, Alex and Colton...but I think they both left by now... This place has 2 crappy, lop-sided pool tables but pool is free all day Wednesday and FUN! read more

Great cocktails, great people, great service! Went in on the eve of Thanksgiving. It was packed and there was only one bartender. He made me the ridiculous drink I ordered (lemon drop-instead of something simple like a G&T) complete with a sugared rim, and he did it quickly with a SMILE on his face! After working for over ten years in the service industry and as a bar tender, I can say from personal experience that it is not an easy task to do that, especially when there are twenty other drunk people waving money at you waiting for a drink. Plus, the drink was excellent! Karaoke is a fun time as well as pool tables and a foosball table = fun for all! read more

My wife and I got away for our anniversary, and since this bar was close to our hotel, stopped in for a drink. The bartender (daytime) was very friendly, had good advice on local beer, and was overall beyond pleasant, and helpful. The atmosphere is your average dive bar, but it was $3 microbrew day, so we felt we couldn't go wrong. In short, the bar is fine, the prices and beer is great, and the bartender (at least daytime) is fantastic. Stop in, have a pint, and relax. read more

The staff is all great and you will definitely meet some characters among the patrons. It's a casual and even a bit grungy spot but not in a gross, offensive way. My best friends and I came here for our first Irish pub experience and it was not as we expected. The prices were good and the atmosphere was alright but what was a buzz killer was the bartender. Whenever we asked for anything it was a chore for her. We wanted to buy merchandise and after some huffing and puffing we finally got to look at some shirts, we pretty much had to beg her to look at other sizes. There was one size left that we wanted but it was the one on display and she refused to sell it.
