Formally O'ryans Irish Pub.. Lesssss Gooooo..
    Freddie G.

2020 will be 4yrs strong visiting this FANTASTIC Ashland OR downtown watering hole! Formerly O'ryans I believe.. Great environment, high energy, well lit, excellent sound system! TouchTunes IS available and let me tell you, the locals LOVE when us Cali boys get on the 1's & 2's dropping the latest, greatest and best of Top-40, PLUS classic 80's & 90's Rap, HipHop and all genres of Country music NEW & OLD!! Barkeep/Owners a true WARRIOR behind the handles: serving, pouring, hooting, hollering and maintaining order all the while thirsty patron after thirsty patron comes piling in as the night marches on. DJ's do a good job of keeping the crowd chomping at the bit to dance, sing, bob and weave on the dance floor.. Pool tables are moderately fast, well kept and always always have games going on em. Beers are ice cold, bottles and drafts available to go with the full bar!! Security on sight keeping the peace, very active walking up and back watching the crowd making sure everyone has a good time. Bathrooms are good, urinals sinks and toilets all work proper. Have had a fantastic time here each and every visit, again Barkeep/Owner is a Bulldog behind the bar, always takes care of us when we visit!! Excellent sense of humor, vocal and talkative, quick to aid us in keeping our thirst at bay!! SOU football season is coming around the bend, cant wait to get back in here and have another great time!! For you Central Valley Yelpers wondering if I can tie in a familiar place or two with this spot? It's like Old Town Saloon on college night, without the threat of bullies or show offs flexing on patrons. So, Old Town but well mannered +the best of Crossroads.. Cya soon!!

Permanent urine smell. UNtrained bartenders who don't even know what an Old Fashion is! FILTHY and plenty of other spots for a drink.

We started with the deep-fried pickles, which were a letdown. They tasted like basic bottled pickle slices lightly dipped in flour with minimal seasoning--nothing special. Dinner didn't improve much. The menu items sound really appealing, but once they arrived, the flavors were bland. We ordered the Irish stew, and the meat was very tough. Tried cutting it in really small pieces so I could chew it, but it wasn't worth the effort. Had a few pieces with gristle and fat. I ended up picking the meat out and just eating the carrots and potatoes. We also tried the famous meatloaf, which was the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed it, though the portion could have been a bit larger. The gravy was tasty, and it came with peas and mashed potatoes. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were great, the dishes lacked flavor and felt overpriced for what was served.

The ambiance, was classic pub throughout, and we enjoyed this quite a bit having just returned from Ireland few weeks ago. The food was properly done though I felt that the chowder, which was delicious, was a bit tepid and could have been a bit warmer.

We will likely be back on our weekend here!

Was looking for traditional London fish and chips *Found It Here*…read more Cod dipped and fried to a light crispy texture. Fish is super moist and meaty. Good size portion of cod. The tartar sauce is really good. The ranch dressing is excellent! Not at all vinegary, it may be house made. I don't normally order something like the bangers and mash, but it came highly recommended. I am SO GLAD we did! It's not regular mashed potatoes, it's the whole potato prepared with a crisp outter shell, smashed down and seasoned to perfection. The sausages were surprisingly good and bursting with layers of flavor. The star was the onion gravy! I don't think I've ever had "onion gravy", but it is my new favorite thing. I even went home and checked Pinterest to see IF I could somehow replicate it... for now, it would be easier to just come back and order some more *smiles* The fish tacos are the same dipped cod used for fish n chips, but in set in 2 large white corn tortillas (per taco) instead of on fries. Fish tacos don't come with a side, but 2 fish tacos can be split into 4 smaller tacos. It was very filling and I didn't need an extra side of anything. It's a complete meal *cheers* The daytime service was excellent. The adult beverages were exactly as expected, water was refilled w/o asking, food was served hot and the guy checked on us a couple of times to see how the food was *yay* I could see this venue being super festive later in the evening. Lots of seating, high tables, low tables, wrap around wood bar, shuffle board, a pool table and speakers throughout. The place is very clean and has plenty to look at on the walls without feeling cluttered. Opens daily at 3pm.

Louie's of Ashland - Black bean burger, this patty was thin and overcooked. It was like eating cardboard.

We looked at the menu, it said something about a 'creek'. We're sold! As we entered the restaurant, we were asked: "Would you prefer seats by the creek or inside. It was too dark inside to read the menu, and anything to do with water, I'm there. I found the perfect table, where it's closest to the creek waves, but we were soon have to move, because the restaurant shares the outside tables with the restaurant next door. I was sort-of disappointed. The waiter, and the excellent BBQ Ribs & Kettle Chips took that away! Hubby's Recession Burger and Classic Fries were also just as good. He also ordered a side of black bean chili. Service was exceedingly friendly. Waiter was very informative about the direction, how to get to the other side of the creek, it was a perfect hike for us, on that beautiful afternoon. UPDATE: Our dinner was so good last night, we ended back to the other side of the creek, to Louie's for lunch! Our waiter recognized us. We sat closer to the wall, almost the same table as we sat last night, too, with a different waitress, who is just as pleasant and friendly as our waiter. This time hubby ordered a BLT (smoky bacon piled HIGH, and I mean piled HIGH) and Kettle Chips, while I settled for Spring rolls. The spring rolls were not large, they're like half of a normal size. His BLT came on a multi grain bread and just the right amount of mayo. We both agreed, it was the BEST BLT sandwich in the world! (We've traveled the world, we know!) But to top things off they gave him a complimentary, a chocolate lava cake as it was hubby's birthday. Thank you!

Inside the restaurant was pretty with almost a speakeasy vibe, but fairly empty. The bartender and the host at the door were very friendly and the host helped me order exactly what I needed for my dietary restrictions. I'm trying to give them a little grace as we did take this to go, but I was there when the order finished so the food was not waiting for me and my hotel was less than 5 minutes away so the food did not wait long. I also opened up the to go containers in the car to let any steam out so the burger and fries did not get soggy. For a place with such good reviews the food seemed like nothing more than basic diner food. The regular burger was bland, with floppy lettuce and a boring tomato. The black bean vegan burger is exactly why people hate plant based patties. It was overcooked, the edges were literally black, and it was drier than cardboard. I couldn't even finish it. Both the fries and onion rings were decently crispy but were oily like they were cooked in low temp frier oil. Again, I could get better at any diner along the freeway. The staff saved the day really, they were so nice I couldn't give this a 2 star. But, I'm not sure I'll give them another chance with such other great options available on the plaza.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a cozy little restaurant inside with a lot of cool pictures from the early 1900s. I wish I would have taken pictures of the decor but it was a long day of driving and I didn't think about it. All the food was really good. My husband had a French dip, my daughter got a cheeseburger, and I went with the chicken quesadilla. The avocado didn't work for me but being a California girl, I get it. My daughter's French fries were the absolute best restaurant fries I've had in a loooong time. My husband enjoyed a local beer and I went with my standard white Russian, which was nice and strong. They had a really interesting cocktail menu, but I wasn't feeling adventurous there. As for service, outstanding. Our server was so friendly, attentive, and helpful with all of our questions and requests. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future road trips now that we will be driving though from time to time! I tried to add more pictures but they don't seem to be uploading ‍
