Great drinks in a fantastic environment! One of the best places to get a crafted cocktail in town. The business claims to have the largest whiskey selection between Portland and San Francisco but also has a strong rum and tequila selection. I recommend the patio in particular out back if the weather is nice. We enjoyed tiki drinks (painkiller, mai tai) and cocktail classics, which all were beautifully presented and on point. The food sounded delicious but we ate elsewhere on this pub crawl. Staff took their time on making cocktails from scratch but it's worth being patient. read more

A quick 2023 update. The whiskey selection is just crazy. If you are a Scotch or Bourbon hound, this is the place for you. I'm not sure I've seen a better selection, and this is right here in Southern Oregon. The bartenders are excellent here, and are super friendly. Absolutely love! My partner and I were looking for a good place to go for our date night and Oberons was the perfect match. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cozy and it was all around a fantastic experience. Food: incredible!! From appetizer to dessert it was all worth it! We started with the warm Brie which was to die for. Main dish we had the Shepards pie and the Harvest salad. It's important to note that their "full" size salad is massive, so take that into consideration if you want something smaller. The dessert was the molten lava chocolate cake which was topped with whipped cream and caramel. Every last bite was amazing Drinks: while we didn't order drinks tonight their menu looked incredible! Service: absolute gems! All of them were sweet and friendly and all the dishes came out very quickly Price: not bad compared to the area! Oberon's has got a really cool, laid-back vibe.  It's all done in the mode of an English pub from back in the Bard's day, and the overall effect will make you feel like you're not all that far from Stratford-upon-Avon ;-) The service here is great, and the menu is as well.  It's tough to go wrong with whatever you might choose to order. Tip: If you're not fond of eating meat (or even if you are) there's a very tasty mushroom pie on the menu that I'd recommend :-) When last I was here, I tried the Shepard's Pie and was quite impressed!  They use an excellent cut of beef in the pie, which loans just the right amount of richness to the dish. read more

I couldn't wait to try this place and it exceeded my expectations. You feel like you've stepped into a Midsummer Night's Dream the minute you enter. Bonus: dog friendly patio seating outside by the creek. Drinks are top notch. My fav the Obe's Manhattan also with an extensive global whiskey list. Having scouted things out on Google Maps beforehand, Oberon's was first among my list of places I wanted to visit upon arriving in Ashland, and thus it was our first stop after checking in to our hotel and dropping off our luggage. Everything about its interior aesthetic was what I wanted to see in this Shakespearean-influenced town, and their healthy selection of various Old Fashioneds had furthered my interest in patronizing this pub. Thus, on our midsummer afternoon's visit, we were greeted warmly upon entry, told to grab any available table, and order at the bar when we were ready. We did so, and between us, settled on a Beeswax Old Fashioned for myself, a Midsummer Night's Tea for my wife, and a Caprese Grilled Cheese to split between us. Unfortunately, this is when Puck's mischievousness began to manifest. At the bar, I ordered my drink, and then my wife's tea, only to be informed that they were out of that particular blend. Returning to our table, my wife pivoted and ordered the Love tea instead. Back at the bar, I updated our order, and tacked on the grilled cheese, only to learn that they were also out of mozzarella. They could substitute cheddar in its place, but that's not exactly a Caprese sandwich anymore, is it? Disappointed, we stuck with just the drinks. Still, our drinks were nothing to turn up our noses about. The Beeswax Old Fashioned was just sweet enough to take the edge off the whiskey, and was a nice change from the standard orange aroma and flavor. And Love (both the drink, and the emotion) would be welcome at any tea party or wedding. Queen Titania would approve of its pleasing blend of sweet, herbal and fruity notes! Minus the two mentioned disappointments, our time at Oberon's was close to magical. The interior décor is both rustic and romantic, good for plebes, patricians, publicans and playwrights alike! Oberon simply needs to kick out the troublesome satyr messing things up in the kitchen (he's apparently eating and drinking all the vittles!), to elevate this otherwise exemplary tavern to a level of performance worthy of a standing ovation. read more

My husband and I agree that we are unsure how we slept on Oberons for so long! My parents come for cocktails and sausages all the time and we have never caught on until a couple weeks back when my parents invited us along and... oh my word.. obsessed!!!! We had the sausage platter, the baked Brie and the bacon flat bread.. all of them were cooked to perfection and delicious! The REAL star of the show are their cocktails! Every single one we have tried over our last few visits have been wonderful - my personal favorite is the Passionfruit Mai Tai! Others that we have had and loved are the Really Good Old Fashioned, Lavendar Drop, Really Good Negroni and regular mai tai! If it's warm out, they have beautiful outdoor seating on the river walk area .. and if you prefer to be indoors, there are lots of different seating options in their eclectic and cozy building! read more

Came here with my brother and mom for a drink after dinner. There was live music which was awesome, but we chose to to have a drink on the patio by the creek since it was beautiful weather. My mom got a wine, my brother a kombucha and I asked the bartender if he made any mocktails since I don't drink alcohol. He said he had some ideas, asked my tastes and came up with a wonderful drink. I loved it and enjoyed spending time here. Would definitely recommend and return. read more

New Ownership has taken over and completely taken away all of Oberons whimsy that it was beloved for. The music was like elevator music, the espresso martini was not great which is what I use to come here for! The old bartenders were way better at making drinks and being personable- the regulars have changed. It's a different vibe overall. Sad to see Oberons like this- they should have changed the name when they bought it because they are doing a disgrace to it. read more

Highlight: the awesome notes tucked into the gaps between the bricks Lowlight (?): the music The food here is good. We had the warm brie, bangers and mash, and the apple bacon grilled cheese. We also had the earl grey sour, some mead, and an old fashioned. Drinks were great! They have solved the short staffing by having customers order at the bar. This seems to work well for them. I had a blast hunting down notes in the wall and trying to extricate them. Found some really cool old stuff, and left a note of our own. The one downside (and this was big for me) was the music. It did not fit the ambiance at all, and I honestly didn't like it much. They were playing rap/hip hop/r&b, which seemed to clash so hard with the Ren Faire vibe of the place. I heard another patron complain about it to the bartender, and the bartender replied with "I wonder what they would think of YOUR music" yikes Overall I kinda wanted to make this our regular date night spot, but the music was obnoxious. Absolutely incredible! We're passing through Ashland, staying at a cute little hotel. This place is within walking distance and is right by the creek! Indoor seating with great decor, outdoor seating on a patio or down closer to the creek. Perfectly balanced cocktails. We got the lavender mule, razberry mule and lavender drop. They make their own simple syrups and our waitress explained a bit more on how they do that (just upgraded my simple syrup game for home ty)!! Our waitress was super sweet and fun! Loved her and her dope nails. Food was delicious, I got the the shepherds pie, Ma got the apple grilled cheese I believe? Both were delicious, just enough to fill us up after a long 11 hr drive from LA area. There are so my options in this town, I'm stoked we tried this one. Highly recommend! read more

I would like to start with service was great, everyone working there was a joy. But I've been a patron there for years but recently had a baby and have not been able to visit until now.. We went to enjoy our most favorite spot... the new ownership has destroyed one of the greatest kitch spots in town, it should lose the title of most "Ashlandiest Spot". It no longer resembles a place a fantasy and fun and is obviously slowly transitioning into an over priced arcade. The walls were bare, booths removed and an entire seating area with tables previously, converted to arcade games, a tv and gaming couches. The menu offers nothing exciting in the drink arena, we literally went to enjoy our seasonal hot toddy's, nowhere to be found and had to special order. Once my favorite spots for sausages, savory pies, and a delicious pretzel.... Now offers poor quality standard bar fare, they still include a Shepard pie which I most regrettably ordered in hopes that it was still the same. Not only was it over priced it was clearly canned beef stew topped with boxed potato's... we also ordered the nachos which were wet and watery leading me to believe it was canned meat and canned cheese and were, if I remember correctly, over 20 bucks. The food was edible and I would not fault the kitchen staff for doing the best they can with the materials provided. I don't mind some change while keeping a name of a previous establishment, but this is a completely different bar. Change the name, make it clear you know longer care about a niche community. read more

I have wanted to come check out this little bar for a while. As a person who works the late shift, I like that they keep later hours when most of the places in the area close early. We stopped in a few weeks ago and were lucky to get a table on an evening that all other restaurants were full. The bartenders are real bartenders! I ordered the Really Good Old Fashioned and honestly can't remember what my partner ordered - just know that he loved it. The decor is warm and eclectic while keeping in the theme of Shakespeare's play. We both ordered the honey bacon apple grilled cheese and while we secretly wished for a little more substance to the sandwich, the flavors were cohesive. There were definitely more kettle chips in the basket than cheese in the sandwich. It is nice that they offer gluten free bread. read more

Oberon's has a great location downtown. The staff are friendly and strictly enforce people wearing masks when they're ordering at the bar. They also put reserved signs every other table to ensure social distancing during COVID. We stopped in for a quick drink about half an hour before closing. My husband got his Elysian Space Dust and I got the Viking Cream Ale. Oberon's was scheduled to close at 10 that night (a Thursday) and the staff let all customers know about the closing time about 15 minutes before 10. I guess they're pretty strict about closing on time. No problem, though. They let everyone know. read more

Came in on a Saturday night, pretty good hippy jam band playing. Full bar, but service was still relatively quick. Had 3 cocktails; Mai tai, and 2 different gin drinks. All were quality drinks, well executed, great flavors and presentation. Robust selections of premium spirits, whiskey, rum, tequila, etc. Wide variety of craft beer and local wine as well. They had a small food selection, I had the mozzarella sticks, which were exactly what you would expect, perfect bar food. Overall, very impressed with the vibe, drink quality, and service. I've been coming to Ashland for years - decades really, but I haven't ever been to Oberon's. There was lovely live Celtic music in the front, but we were seated in the back in front of a lovely fireplace. When we first sat down, it was great to see a group of people playing Dungeons and Dragons. This to me speaks volumes about the comfortable nature of Oberon's. Lots of downtown Ashland is very touristy but the fact that this group felt like this was a good spot, made me happy. We got just the right amount of attention from our server (not lurking but not ignored). We only ordered noshy food but it was tasty and reasonably priced for Ashland. I will return! read more

One of the best bathrooms that I have ever used in Oregon. The decor is phenomenal and the elbow room is fantastic. Overall ambiance is relaxing and relatively peaceful. Toilet paper softness was above average and nice quality. The bartender ensured that my food and beer was left untouched while I was in there. Overall, if you're looking for a bathroom in Ashland and you want to take your time to peruse Instagram or reply to emails, this is my recommendation. 5/5 would definitely poop here again read more

Mark and Dalton were both friendly and welcoming (without being too much) -definitely a grasp on customer service- how to be just the right amount chatty when I initiate- I was traveling alone, so some chatting made it less awkward- and the food was all perfect. Good spot for a hearty meal before a play. The setting is fun and rough hewn, with space for regular live music performances. I suggest grabbing one of the small booths if they are free. Food is British inspired with dishes like pot pies, sandwiches, and sides like mashed peas and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. We had a pesto flatbread to start and it was nice. Pot pies were great as were the sides. The French dip sandwich was on good bread with great au jus, but the beef seemed like heated deli meat. Side for sandwiches was listed as chips, which I initially hoped meant British style fried potatoes. It ended up being US style crinkle cut potato chips (out of a bag?). Very nice bar staff, a killer selection of spirits (full EH Taylor horizontal, Blanton's, Elmer, etc.) great cocktails (the Negroni riff was killer) and a variety of local drafts. Food was also on point - the Shepherd's pie was a feast. The peas that came on the side were the best peas I've ever had in my life - like, not hyperbole, actually the best ever.
