$30 for a lb of bbq, buns and 2 sides. To go order. Worst bbq I've ever tried to eat. Will not be back. Nolen's, why did you leave?

Long wait time for only 2lbs of meat. The brisket left much to be desired. Owner was also extremely rude.

Everybody I know loves their Granny's collards best, but I swear that these are truly outstanding. The werewolf was great, I really liked the slaw/collard/mayo synergy, with a generous amount of roast beef. Service was great today, so I am assuming my previous visit was the exception. Every time I pass through (or near to) Columbia, I shall be back.

I have been recommended this place by multiple people throughout the years and finally got a chance to give it a try. (Well, I say that but mainly because I go to Gold's Deli everytime I'm in Columbia. So it was time to share the love) They have a pretty large menu of various sandwiches, I wish I had grabbed a picture of them. I asked the cashier if she had to pick one sandwich which one would it be, she gave me a list of about 3 that all sounded amazing. The fourth she suggested was if you're overwhelmed or unsure just get the Italian. I LOVE Italian sandwiches so that is what I ended up with. Everything here is fresh so I waited about 5-10 minutes for my sandwich to get made. I will definitely be trying out some of the more adventurous creations next time but this was so good. This Italian has a freshness to it that I have a hard time describing but their olive oil blend is lovely, the olives, banana peppers and lettuce helped with that fresh taste as well I'm sure. The bread is incredible! It taste house baked, crisp outer crust with a pillowy interior. The house chips were also really good and salted perfectly. The inside is cool, it's a microbrewery and there's subtle like alien themes throughout? Overall can't wait to try it out again, stop by if you're ever down in Columbia!

They have stiff competition with Gold's (best lunch counter in middle…read moreTennessee, about 100 yards away), Bruno's Italian (other side of Columbia) and Boot Stomping BBQ (same building - top notch). The restaurant itself is in an old industrial building, the CAB, that has been a number of establishments just in the past 4 years. I don't know why most places can't sustain themselves in this location, but my guess is that they are hidden and if you don't know they are there, you'll never find them. The menu is limited to about an about 8 or 9 different sandwiches. The matador is a good, traditional roast beef sandwich. Again, it's not going to knock your socks off, but it's good. Sides come separate. Here's the rub though, the couple of times I've been in, nobody has ever been very friendly. You go into Gold's or the BBQ place, you get a warm welcome and good conversation. Here, it's dark, industrial, and eh, "what do you want for lunch" kind of attitude. I'm not knocking the place. It's a decent lunch, but they need to "wow" their customers so they tell people about it because of its hidden location. I hope they do well, but somehow they need to do better than what's been a revolving door of lunch counters and coffee shops that have populated the Columbia Arts Building. Hole in the wall vibes, small interior, but enough seating as people move in and out pretty quickly. Let me get back to the food. The food is nothing fancy but everything is absolutely delicious! Seems to be burgers and sandwiches and some fried foods, etc. They do have a refrigerated case of beer so that's a treat for some. I dealt with who I think is the owner and she was very helpful to me as I've never been here before. I ordered a club which I love a traditional club, but this was actually hot which she told me, I got to order how I wanted it and I must say it's very good. I also ordered just regular french fries. They are also very good. They have fountain drinks and I got to mix my sweet and non-sweet tea the way I wanted it so that was nice. The ambience is pleasant and the prices seem fair. So overall, it was a good experience. I would love to see a traditional, thin meat sliced, fatty, shredded lettuce, style deli sandwich on the menu, but for what it is as I said, it's good.

It's a humble little shop inside, but everything on the shelves appeared to be unquestionably authentic. Fresh pasta & sauces, balsamic vinegar, infused olive oils... Shops like these are a rare gem in the states, let alone Middle Tennessee! Originally propelled by curiosity to enter the store and not planning on purchasing anything, the baked goods became a nonnegotiable upon seeing them. We snagged a lobster tail filled with lemon whipped cream & a slice of carrot cake and rushed out to a picnic table to dig in! The lobster tail is the stuff of poems: The pastry was audibly crisp and flakey, and the inside was busting with a lightly citrusy lemon creme -- it tasted like a Spring day; like Easter egg hunting and lawn clippings and chicks hatching.
