Got seated promptly, while looking at the menu I noticed that the menu that I had and the menu that my wife had, had different prices. When I bought it to the attention of our waitress, the manager promptly brought over a new menu with the higher prices. Waited for about 10 minutes before my drink arrived. We ordered pimento cheese bites for the appetizer, a piggy Mac for my wife and pot roast with collard greens for myself. The cheese bites were ok. They were deep fried too long and the coating was very hard and too crispy. The table next to us also had some and they were a different color than ours. You could see the difference in the fry time. They would have been much better if weren't overcooked. My pot roast and collard greens came out, the greens were good but would have been better if they were hot. The pot roast was a disappointment. There was 3 cubes of beef with carrots, celery and rice. The broth was more grease than gravy. It was like I ordered vegetable beef soup instead of pot roast. And the amount of beef in it was not even enough to make it worth the price. The piggy Mac my wife enjoyed. The only downside was that the Mac and cheese wasn't really very cheesy. The decor is really very nice and the restaurant was clean and well lit. Drove about an hour to get there, not sure if I will come back. read more

Spent the night in Columbia while traveling south and decided to try Puckett's. What a great experience! First of all the town square is spectacular and is full or bars and shops if you have the time. Puckett's is a historical restaurant and continues the tradition of great food and drink. We had the smoked chicken and southern fried chicken and both were outstanding. You get a half chicken in both along with sides - you will not leave hungry! Added bonus was the live music which was fun. Our server was great as well - attentive and informative. Overall a great experience for some "weary travelers "! Went there Friday night and just had a really bad experience. We have been going there since it first opened several years ago. It used to be a premier restaurant to go to but something happened to really go downhill. I'm not going to bash it to death but they better wake up and improve or they will be history. Just seems to be dependent on who is working. If you have a set time that you want to get in, eat, and leave; it might be a bit tough to accomplish within a normal reasonable time. read more

My husband and I stopped in for dinner while walking around the town square. The staff was pleasant and attentive, and the food was delicious. The only thing I would change is that the fried chicken was well-seasoned on the outside, but once I cut into it, it was a bit plain. Thankfully, they had a great hot sauce on the table that added plenty of flavor. The last few of times we have eaten here, we have had terrible service and took a long time for food, the last two times we sat in and this last time we ordered food do go. When trying to collect, we couldn't get anyone to acknowledge us for 10 min then when they delivered food they gave us wrong order even after we had spelled out name. Even though they said it was ready just in the back, it took an additional 10 to collect. Food was completely cold by the time we got it. Think we are completeLt done with Puckets now, it's a shame, we used to love it. read more

This place has great customer service, a friendly environment, clean dining area, and an overall good feeling. Unfortunately, the rating is due to the incredibly long wait and the serving time even though the restaurant was not that busy. Our appetizers were also a little cool and they were fried pimento bites. We had several dishes, the brisket platter, the music city chicken sandwich, the fire corn, burgers, and much more. The flavor was decent. The fire corn was a bit bland and is served cold. Our sever was very nice and the service was good. Definitely excellent staffing. The brisket is tasty and Smokey. The chicken sandwich was tasty and spicy and we overall had a decent time. I can't believe the wait time for our food and some of it was not hot. I will definitely give this place another chance. Delicious food and desserts. Puckett's was on our list visiting TN. Came for an early dinner and the place was pretty empty so we got in right away. We tried to go to the Franklin location yesterday but way too packed and a long wait. Got the brisket plate with the Puckett's Brew and it was *chef's kiss*. Friends ordered the Nashville hot chicken sam and it was delish. We even ate some of the chicken later and it was still crispy even when it was cold. Amazing. Great flavor. Another in our party ordered the fried catfish and it was great (and big!) but she's pretty sensitive to hot food and the batter was a bit spicy for her. Got the banana parfait and the chocolate cobbler for dessert and both wonderful. Only improvement on the cobbler would be to add something crunchy to the topping! Used to go to the Puckett's in Franklin quite a bit but it's been several years. Took a road trip to Columbia with my wife and daughter for an early dinner expecting to have the same tasty food I remembered getting in Franklin. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near what it used to be. I got the Nashville hot chicken and it was mostly fried batter with a sweet/spicy sauce. What little chicken I had was dried out. Really enjoyed the BBQ. Pulled pork was some of the finest I've had anywhere. The chicken was fantastic also and the brisket was solid. Turkey was done well, but I didn't find it very flavorful. Smoked Sausage was a bit tough and was a little too smoky. Sides were very generic and service was slow. Pimento cheese balls appetizer was great, the cinnamon roll bread pudding was not. Hostess on 10/26 was too busy on her phone to welcome us into the restaurant then proceeded to drop silverware on floor, pick it up, and gave it to us at the table. We traveled to Columbia, Tennessee for Thanksgiving, and took my daughter and son-in-law to Thanksgiving day dinner at Pucketts. Having lived in Columbia six years ago I was familiar with Puckets. The meal was fantastic. The restaurant looked great. Everything was perfect. The best part about the day was the service ,it could not have been any better. The young lady that took super care of us, has been very attentive ,on top of everything she told us she had only been in Tennessee a short time moving there from California. She was getting married in the new year, but she went at her job like she enjoyed it. Next meal, sausage and potatoes came out burnt (like black), next meal, sausage, eggs and potatoes fine but toast came out with butter (not toasted like right out of the bag), todays meal, walked into the facility and smelled burnt toast, sausage burnt, eggs and potatoes fine, no toast. She came back 3 times after taking the food order to inform us that side dishes from our order (having asked for alternatives twice) were unavailable. I love the location of this restaurant and wanted this to be my go to restaurant. I love a good restaurant with live music. The way this restaurant is organized and its charming atmosphere makes it seem family friendly. I want to leave a good review but my experience here was less than great. I dont even remember what I ordered because the whole time I was focused on how overwhelmongly LOUD the music was. I had a killer migraine after five minutes of being seated in this restaurant. In theory this place would be a family friendly place to eat, they have a great setup, but I brought my toddler and newborn and was constantly thinking about how loud the music was and how it could damage their longterm hearing! Literally we couldn't even have a conversation with our friends at dinner because the music was way too loud. Having live music is charming and a great way to attract more people to your restaurant but I will steer clear of this place until they bring the volume lower. I dont even know if the food was good, i couldnt even enjoy the meal or even hear myself think. Sunday the 18th was my first time here. I have been a resident of Columbia since June 24. I have heard of this place so I was excited to go. Me and a friend went for a late lunch/early dinner. Super easy to get a seat at 3 pm. Parking was easy, our waitress was pleasant. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and kind of already decided on something. I got the Nashville Cheesesteak with Brisket and no BBQ sauce, and fries. I also ordered a sweet tea which was delicious. My sandwich came and visually it looked amazing, however they had kind of drowned it in so much cheese, the hoagie was soaked and split apart so I had to eat it with a fork. There wasn't very much meat, peppers, onions or mushrooms on it and the meet was super salty. The fries lacked luster for me too. They were just basic fries with some sort of their own seasoning which didn't taste different to me. The ketchup needed refilled, I could only get out a nickels worth and they need to be a little more generous with napkins. All in all the service was great, friendly, average pricing, good parking, clean, but the food to me was MEH. read more

Chose Puckett's BBQ restaurant after a visit to the Polk Home and Museum down the street. Location is a corner of courthouse square. We've dined at other Puckett's' restaurants, so knew what to expect. Our gang of 4 arrived after the lunch time crowd. That was helpful because Puckett's is loud for normal conversation when full. Enjoyed BBQ Beef Brisket with three sides. All very good. If I wasn't driving, I'd choose one of the draught brewskies. Two kinds of BBQ sauce is offered: vinegary spicy and sweet (original). Good value. Appetizing presentation. Tasty food. Freshly prepared. Finished our lunch with a visit to Hattie Jane's Creamery, next door. Delicious ice cream...but pricy. Two small gripes: Our server became visibly annoyed about correcting errors on the bill. So unnecessary...just make it right and skip the attitude. The women complained about the lady's room and men's was fine. Tip I: Private parking lot is behind the restaurant and public parking lot across the street. Both free.
