Josh and I came to have lunch today since we were looking at Hay Long Chapel. The restaurant vibe was nice 50's diner but with an upscale twist! We were greeted by Eva the manger extremely welcoming! Our server was Sophie.. She gave us great service and was helpful in my lunch option, I had Salmon with a side salad and it was just what I was craving for!! Josh had the Ref Beans and Rice with Jalapeño Sweet Corn Bread! When I tell you this was the best corn bread of our lives!!! It was amazing!!! After lunch Eva gave us a tour of the upstairs venue! We wanted to try new restaurants outside of Columbia and we found this place. We ordered deviled eggs and Cajun dip with pork rinds as an appetizer. They were delicious. The club sandwich and Chicken Marsala were also delightful. I added Cajun dip in the smoked gouda grits. Oh my, the combination of smoky cheesy grits and Cajun dip were so good. I ordered their Swiss cheese burger with sautéed mushrooms and onions, they're not using regular hamburger bum but brioche bun which is delicious, it was really good burger and their service also good and fast, definitely come back when we are around town. read more

Looking for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Mule Days was happening in Columbia, so we decided to venture to Mt. Pleasant to avoid any of the large crowds. We found Mt. Pleasant Grille. We had a total of 9 of us and we're able to get a table fairly quickly. The waiter let us know right away it would be about 20 minutes before our order could be taken. They do this to avoid backing up the kitchen, that way your food comes out as fresh as possible. I had the Creamy Cajun Pasta and it was fantastic. Had the perfect amount of spice. The service was great and the food came out very quick for how many people were in our party. Prices are reasonable and they also have a full bar. I do not know why this place isn't packed with customers all day, everyday!! Not only is the food great (I love the Beni Biscuits) The cinnamon rolls are unbelievable, melt in your mouth, delicious! We came for dinner in between ballets recitals for our girls and we're pleasantly surprised! This place looked great and there was plenty of seating. Our server was friendly and helped out when we needed to quickly pay to get back to the second recital. We would love to try this place again when we have more time. read more

We decided to take a day trip to Mount Pleasant and visit the Mt Pleasant Grille. It was a charming restaurant, very clean, looked newly renovated. Bathrooms were some of cleanest public bathrooms we've ever seen. Food was reasonably priced given the amount of food you receive. The quality of food was excellent. My wife ordered a "well-done" Mushroom Swiss burger and I ordered a "medium" Smokehouse Burger. Both came exactly the way we ordered them. The server was very attentive and provided excellent service. Needless to say we will be back and soon. read more

Even if you did have the words, you wouldn't bother using them, because speaking would just translate into less time spent eating. How good? My wife was happy with the steak and frites cooked perfectly! We shared the beignets on the way home, denser than expected but very good. The berry compote made them pop! Found a new favorite place to eat! I stopped in for a weekday lunch. Once you enter you will be surprised how spacious it is inside. Very clean and nice decor. Our server promptly came and greeted us. They had daily specials that come with two sides, but I ordered a shrimp po'boy off their regular menu... and I did not regret my choice! Food took longer than I had expected (but can't remember exactly how long it took, but during the entire time the server was attentive). The side, sweet potato fries were abundant, and my po'boy was so yummy! Delicious sauce and plenty of shrimp inside. Five stars! I was satisfied with their service too, but one thing that impressed me besides that is I saw them constantly cleaning. One was sweeping the floor, and another was cleaning the restroom- and no wonder, the entire restaurant was spic and span. Very well looked after. Kudos to the staff at the Grille! Oh- and on a side note, they do have WiFi for customers which was very helpful as my phone did not have good reception in Mt. Pleasant. read more

The food here is really, really good. We've been coming here for dinner quite a lot lately- I always get the grilled chicken sandwich and my husband gets the grille burger- both always taste amazing!! Even the fries are really good! The food was fine but very very poor service and kitchen management. An hour 45 minutes to roll out two appetizers, 3 fried fish orders and a bowl of soup is crazy. We don't know the actual problem but the fact that the management never stopped by to explain says a lot. The waitress did offer us free desserts however we gave up waiting after 15 minutes. Nicole, our server, was fabulous. The Mac and cheese complimented the fabulousness fairly. I asked what the secret ingredient was in the collards and the chef refused to divulge. I had to talk my bro out of ordering a sundae to split after too many days of indulgence. The blue plate special had gravy and you really can't go wrong if there is gravy. I bet they would do a veggie burgers smothered in that gravy and onions. Do not make the mistake of ordering without a the super cheesy Mac and cheese. Walked in this Sunday at lunch to a hostess picking her teeth with her fingernails. Asked for a table rather than a booth and was told there were no tables available. After seeing 5 open tables on the way to the booth I asked the teeth picking hostess ( yes still picking her teeth ) for a table. She guided us to a table and made a comment to the waitress and cashier about us wanting a table. She placed the napkin wrapped silverware on the table with the same hand she had been picking her teeth. Decided that we would dine elsewhere. This is twice now in the past 2 months that we have had poor service here. This was our first time here, and it was pretty outstanding! Our waitress, Alex, was extremely kind, attentive and helpful! The chef even came out to say hello after we HAD to buy his in-house made balsamic vinaigrette. It was the best either of us has truly ever had! The food was SO flavorful and tastefully displayed, along with fair prices. The space was also extremely clean with a great interior.
