Inexpensive, yummy options. I got the jalapeño burger which was small and i was disappointed that it didn't come with a side without an upcharge. My husband got the Hot Chicken Sandwich and it was hot, juicy, and delicious and came with a side and he got a side of fried okra which he enjoyed. Because of a previous review I read we tried the chess pie, it was not good. The inside of the restaurant is well organized and has a welcoming atmosphere. The waitresses are friendly, attentive, and we enjoyed their service. We sat outside in their covered seating area which was a peaceful experience. We may come here again. read more

Service was timely and staff were super responsive. I got a cheeseburger and fries and it was delicious. Usually can't go wrong with a cheeseburger though. I ordered a side a candied yams and they were great! Sister ordered hamburger steak and side salad and fried okra. The only thing that wasn't that great was the salad. Food and service were great. The portions were smaller compared to other restaurants that serve the same kind of food and have the same price range in Columbia area. I didn't expect food to be served in styrofoam even you dine in the restaurant. I found that a bit strange. It is not recyclable. We should be more mindful to use compostable containers and reduce waste. read more

First visit & the food was great. I had a 4-veggie plate for $12 with cornbread. Green beans, turnip, grains, fried okra and cream, corn... I'll forward delicious. Hubby had the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. He was happily surprised with the freshly battered onion rings, golden brown. The staff was nice & helpful. The dessert menu is large & all made in-house. We got ours to-go. Chess pie & Reese pie. Restroom was extra large, easy access for a wheelchair too. Dream Girl and I got a recommendation to try Old Glory while in Columbia. We did and were pleased. We got there at 12:30 on a Friday and the place was packed, but there was a seat for us. The menu is extensive, so first-time visitors need to spend a little time perusing it. I had two catfish fillets, white, beans, and cole slaw plus two hush puppies. DG had fried shrimp (you get seven), apples, and potato salad. We had Pepsi and sweet tea (which was good - not too sweet). We were stuffed, but got peach cobblers to take home. Old Glory is small, but the waitresses move quickly and the tables turn at lunch, but they DON'T pressure you at all. They have a big take-out business, too. My meal tonight was horrible. Never in my life have I had drier chicken. It was so dry so bad there was no way I was going to finish it. It wasn't just mine either, my wife got a chicken dinner and my daughter as well. The both were extremely unhappy with their dry terrible chicken dinners. I just can't believe how bad the chicken was. I didn't think you could make chicken, That bad. I will never be back. Came here on a weekend because of local sports tournaments. We were politely greeted and handed menus once inside. The menu was extensive and our server gave us adequate guidance. Burgers were ordered for all, though all different varieties. My burger and fries came out hot and fresh. The portion was quite generous and boxes were required for take home. We didn't really save room for dessert, but the pieces of homemade pie that we saw changed our minds. Once the bill came around there were no issues, and it was not expensive for the food we got. The restaurant has a sports bar type of feel as many televisions are showing football while many people seem to come in for carry out orders. We had business in Columbia Tn and wanted to try something new besides Jumbo House. We both ordered catfish, good, seasoned well however it was fried too long. Tasted great but the ends were too crispy and the meat in parts was dried out. Fried okra was fantastic, baked potatoes great, and pintos beans on point. Reasonably priced until it came to desert. We got cobbler to go, blackberry and peach. Extremely small serving for $5. Took up less than 25% of the container! The blackberry was good, the peach had a weird flavor and after we both tried it we threw it away. We will go back, I don't know if I will order the fish, I will definitely not have desert. read more

Normally I would recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious but the service is horrible. I eat there on a minimum of once a week, most weeks it's two times. I placed an online order. I went it to pick the already purchased and already tipped order. The server was getting drinks for eat in customers. I patiently wait on her to finish. She walked up, never greeted me, and barked "NAME" I gave her my name to which she barked back, "well it's not there. Another name?" I said responded with "no". She then said "oh there it is" and pointed at a bag on a table. She then turned around and started working again. No thank you. Nothing. While I love to support locally owned businesses, and have recommended this restaurant to many, they need to learn to greet and say thank you to the paying and tipping customer. read more

This is a great example of a small town diner. On our maiden visit, my husband had a 2-piece fried fish meal with fries and green beans because Friday is fish day in the south. He said the fish was not greasy at all and was seasoned well. I had a hand-patted cheeseburger with fries. I mean, how can you beat that? It was delicious and my fries were crisp and tasty. This place is amazing. Some of the best home cooked food In the area. We went for lunch and the chicken fried steak was sooo good. The mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly and the grilled chicken was out of this world. Did I mention the pecan pie????? The best! So good.. Old Glory is definitely a hidden gem! Meals are as affordable as they are delicious. We have been customers since they opened and we have tried most of the menu by now and everything we have had has been excellent! I'm a big fan of the chicken tenders, which are hand-breaded and always fresh. My husband has several favorites including the meatloaf, roast beef, and burgers. He often orders two meals, one for now and one for later. Neither of us are fans of catfish, but we have gone in on Friday nights when the catfish is all you can eat and not been able to get a table, so I would guess it's good catfish. read more
