The BG has elevated their game even more. Service on this visit 10/10 (thanks Tucker!). The redfish and grits was amazeballs! One of the top local specials I've had in a while. The deviled egg flight was a hit. Always a cool vibe!

    Steak. So good.

Lights out food. The bourbon gospel is worth going out of the way for. We liked it so much we came two nights in a row. The hospitality is on point. Every dish we had was incredible. I could've run back the Gruyere appetizer all night long. The steak was on point. The brisket enchilada melted like butter in my mouth. It's only been a day but I miss you already. The drinks were top notch. Loved everything.

Service here is 15/10 probably the best experience I've ever gotten. Lovely lovely staff and owner it was great to hear their story. Wish I lived here so I could go more often and support. Brisket tacos: amazing flavor in the brisket. could use slightly more meat & ingredients in the tacos to balance the ratio with the flour tortilla. Shrimp & grits: decadent, creamy, delicious, very rich. was amazing to try a bite. Burger: amazing!!! I'm not even a burger person but they have it down it was amazing. Salmon: good, nothing crazy but a solid dish. I would say to add more of the sauce they had to it - which seemed like a sweet soy sauce. Drinks: I forgot the name but the yuzu sour was light and refreshing! Ambience: the bar area was beautifullll. I'm excited to see how the other areas turn out as well. I think some string lights could be added to the outside to take it to the next level. All this is without the experience of the music which I know will be amazing - would HIGHLY recommend.

Old Fashioned for me, Dolly's Bath Water for her. Two perfect pours, one perfect night at Bourbon Gospel.

If you want a glimpse into where downtown Columbia is headed, look no further than Bourbon Gospel. This place isn't just a bar--it's a vision. Every corner of the space feels intentional, from the moody lighting and marble tabletops to the curated cocktails that deliver both flavor and finesse. I had the Barrentine Old Fashioned, which might just be the best in town. Perfectly executed, bold without being overpowering, and served with a clarity and respect for tradition that's rare these days. My wife ordered Dolly's Bath Water--vibrant, sparkling, and smooth with just the right amount of cheek. Refreshing and complex in the best way. But what truly sets this place apart is the heart behind it. The owners are not only stunningly beautiful (truly--style, grace, the whole package), but they radiate authenticity and warmth. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel like old friends. It's rare to see hospitality delivered with that level of sincerity--it's even rarer to see it paired with such polished execution. We finished the night with dessert: the Cookie Dough Flight, which is an experience all on its own--playful, rich, and plated like a fine dining tasting menu. My wife also had the Flourless Chocolate Torte, and it was divine--dense in the best way, like a velvet punch of dark chocolate. The energy in the room is magnetic, and the buzz around their upcoming 3,000 sq ft expansion--complete with live music--is completely justified. Bourbon Gospel isn't just part of the future of Columbia nightlife--it's leading it. Whether you're coming for the cocktails, the dessert, or just the vibe, don't sleep on this place. The welcome is real, the drinks are strong, and the vision is just beginning. Pro tip: Come hungry, stay late, and introduce yourself to the owners--you'll be glad you did.

Wow, wow, wow!! Awesome dining experience in such a cool space, with an excellent atmosphere and wonderful service. We used RESY to make the reservation and it asked if it was for a special event. We were with my sister and brother in law who were celebrating their 1st anniversary and the staff had a a congratulations card on our table and provided a complimentary dessert! The food and drink menu is unique and everything we had was delicious. The only complaint we had was that my wife asked for her burger to be cooked well and it was borderline medium. Will definitely make this a regular stop when heading to Nashville.

After my experience, I think the statements are a bit exaggerated, although I do give it high marks. The name Grindstone cowboy is a nice play on words. First, they are a coffeeshop with a bar and deli type items, so grindstone fits well with the title. Grindstone Cowboy is a nice play on Rhinestone Cowboy, the song by Glen Campbell in the 1970s. The western feel of the restaurant complements the name. There is also a vintage store attached to the restaurant/bar for those who happen to like a little shopping with their meal. I had the BLT and she had the chicken salad sandwich. I will say I am not a huge fan of chicken salad, but I could eat this one (would not be tops on my list, but I could do it). The BLT was very nice. I added avocado and don't regret that decision. I thought the bread and bacon choice was on point. A heirloom tomato would have popped this up another notch. Overall, enjoyed it. I do feel the pricing is a bit high for a small town diner. Perhaps it is as popular as the social media post suggested? I did pay in cash to avoid the 4% credit card fee. Would I return? I would not go out of my way to get back here, but if I was passing through, I would certainly consider another go if I was in the mood for a sandwich.

There's something special about sitting back with great food and drinks while listening to talented local musicians in such a historic, laid-back setting. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope to find in a small Tennessee town--welcoming, authentic, and full of character. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The food was delicious, the drinks were cold, and the live music truly made the visit memorable. It wasn't just background entertainment--it created an atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we planned. Fox & Locke perfectly captures the charm of Leiper's Fork. Whether you're a local or just exploring the area for the weekend, this is the kind of place that keeps you coming back. Great food, great people, and fantastic live music--what more could you ask for? Highly recommend!

(3.5/5 stars) I've…read morebeen to Fox & Lock many times over the years, enough to try nearly everything on the menu. It's a solid, casual meat-and-three that's become a gathering place for both locals and visitors. The friendly staff and frequent live music create a lively atmosphere, and if you're already coming to Leipers Fork for a show, it's a great place to grab a meal beforehand. The menu offers classic Southern comfort food with rotating daily specials. The pulled pork is one of the more consistent meats, although I've had it arrive perfectly tender on some visits and a bit dry on others. The second meat changes throughout the week, which keeps things interesting for repeat customers. I've worked my way through all of the sides, and the fried okra is easily my favorite. It's consistently served hot and crispy, though I think a signature seasoning blend would make it even better. The macaroni and cheese is another standout, although I've occasionally received it lukewarm. The sweet potato fries are also enjoyable but could use a little more crispness, and I think they'd really shine with a house-made dipping sauce like a hot honey mustard. The green beans appear to be canned, which doesn't personally bother me, but they leave an unusual aftertaste that keeps me from ordering them often. The collard greens have good flavor but tend to include more stems than I'd prefer. The baked beans lean savory rather than sweet, which may appeal to some diners, though I usually prefer sweeter baked beans with barbecue. The mashed potatoes are simple and would benefit from the option of either cream gravy or brown gravy. One item that always kept me coming back was the chicken fingers. For a long time, they were some of my favorites in the area--crispy, flavorful, and good enough that I've driven out from Nashville just to order them. Recently, however, the breading seems to have changed, and they haven't quite been the same. The onion rings are another reliable choice, arriving consistently crispy, though I think they'd be even better paired with a signature dipping sauce or seasoning. Overall, I think the atmosphere is what makes Fox & Lock special. The staff is consistently welcoming, the live music is excellent, and it's an important part of the Leipers Fork community. If you're visiting the area for the music or exploring the town, it's absolutely worth stopping in for a meal. While I don't think the food alone is worth making a special trip from Nashville, it's enjoyable comfort food in a fun setting and a place I'm sure I'll continue to visit.
