This time I asked the owner for recommendations. He was very friendly, asked me some questions…read moreand gave me some guidance. I had the werewolf with a side of collards. So good! Everybody I know loves their Granny's collards best, but I swear that these are truly outstanding. The werewolf was great, I really liked the slaw/collard/mayo synergy, with a generous amount of roast beef. Service was great today, so I am assuming my previous visit was the exception. Every time I pass through (or near to) Columbia, I shall be back.

I have been recommended this place by multiple people throughout the years and finally got a chance to give it a try. (Well, I say that but mainly because I go to Gold's Deli everytime I'm in Columbia. So it was time to share the love) They have a pretty large menu of various sandwiches, I wish I had grabbed a picture of them. I asked the cashier if she had to pick one sandwich which one would it be, she gave me a list of about 3 that all sounded amazing. The fourth she suggested was if you're overwhelmed or unsure just get the Italian. I LOVE Italian sandwiches so that is what I ended up with. Everything here is fresh so I waited about 5-10 minutes for my sandwich to get made. I will definitely be trying out some of the more adventurous creations next time but this was so good. This Italian has a freshness to it that I have a hard time describing but their olive oil blend is lovely, the olives, banana peppers and lettuce helped with that fresh taste as well I'm sure. The bread is incredible! It taste house baked, crisp outer crust with a pillowy interior. The house chips were also really good and salted perfectly. The inside is cool, it's a microbrewery and there's subtle like alien themes throughout? Overall can't wait to try it out again, stop by if you're ever down in Columbia!

Hubby got the biscuit with the sweet jam, very yummy. I got the smoothed salmon, I liked the dill sauce, but it slightly overpowered the other flavors. But, still delicious and a good portion. Connected conveniently to the entrance of The Factory; The August Sage Cafe sets the brunch bar high in Columbia. * The decor is modern, laid back, and inviting. * The staff was very kind, warm and a pleasure to interact with. * My honey cinnamon latte was hot, well crafted, and a nice balance of bitter and sweet. * The breakfast taco was a fantastic blend of flavors and presentation-- definitely was worthy of sharing on socials. I'll be honest, I was so in the moment and enjoying my time that I forgot to snap pics of everything. I guess you will just have to take my word for it and go experience this great find for yourself. Rest assured, you are in for a treat. Add this to your list of local business to support and frequent. It has definitely been added to mine.

When we arrived, we were warmly greeted. Inside is clean with 4 tables for sitting inside to eat. The restaurant is small and cutely decorated. The display cases with meats, cheeses and different salads and condiments looked great. The deli meats for the subs is sliced very thin. We started with lasagna and garlic bread that Dave and I shared. The filling had beef and Italian sausage and it was delicious. The cheese pull was good and not too much. The red sauce was very good. 5/5 We ordered foods to go after eating the lasagna in store. I failed to take a picture of the lasagna. Suffice it to say it was inhaled quickly. We tried the eggplant panini in store too. Everything else was to go. I ordered a Bruno Sub and asked for roasted red peppers to be added. Honestly I couldn't taste the roasted red peppers as there weren't very many added. There was a thin slice of 1 onion ring on the sub so I couldn't taste any onion at all. For me that's a fail as I like to taste ingredients. 4/5 The eggplant panini came with a side of marinara. I have had eggplant panini's before and was anticipating this one. When I saw it, I was very disappointed. There were 2 very thin slices of eggplant inside a sub roll that had been put in a panini press or under bricks to smash the bread down. The only taste was bread. Marinara was good but couldn't rescue the panini. 1/5 We bought 1 arancini and it came with marinara. I heated it up along with the marinara. One bite in and I was sold. I would definitely go back and order arancini again. The meat inside was flavored well and the marinara made everything come together well. 5/5 We ordered a pastrami. For us there was way too much fat and we couldn't remove the fat like we can in a Jewish deli because this meat was sliced paper thin. 3/5 The potato salad was lacking in flavor to me. There was a significant amount of mayo in my opinion. Dave liked it. 3/5 The marinated artichokes were delicious and so were the white bean salad. 5/5 Dave ordered a Super Sub. It had 4 meats plus lettuce, tomato, and cheese. There was a tiny sliver of onion but we couldn't taste it. He loved his sub. 5/5 The two cannoli's were delicious. I favored the vanilla and Dave favored the chocolate. 5/5 We will return as the food was good. If you are missing an Italian Deli taste, please stop by. This place makes everything from scratch. It was worth the trip.

The Pepper Popper Burger was outstanding--juicy smash burger patties topped with spicy cream cheese, bacon, jalapeño poppers, and hot pepper bacon jam. It hit that perfect balance of savory, smoky, sweet, and spicy without any one flavor overpowering the others. The burger was cooked perfectly and loaded with flavor in every bite. The crispy Brussels sprouts were a pleasant surprise and paired really well with the burger. I do wish they had some sort of sauce to dip them in or to pour over. They were certainly good on their own. The pork rinds were fresh, light, and crispy--not greasy at all. They made for a great appetizer and were perfect for sharing. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, the food came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh. Eighth & Main is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back!

Overall, this is a solid spot if you're in this area and craving a burger.
