We've been here several times now, and it's quickly become one of our favorite local spots. The service is always fantastic, everyone is so friendly, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. I ordered the Abe's Favorite (highly recommend adding mayo!), and the pastrami was amazing. The sandwiches are always piled high with meat, and everything tastes fresh and high quality. My boyfriend asked if they could make him a sandwich with as much meat as they could possibly fit on it, so he ended up building one with every meat they had. He lovingly named it the "Big Nasty," and the whole shop got a kick out of it. They even labeled our sandwiches "Big Nasty" and "Not Big Nasty," which had us laughing the whole drive home. It's little things like that that make this place special. Great food, great people, generous portions. We already can't wait to come back and work our way through the rest of the menu. If you're looking for an awesome local sandwich shop, this is it.
This place is amazing. A cozy little sandwich shop tucked inside a mixed use building with plenty of street parking in the area. We came in and waited in a short line to order, which was great because it gave us a chance to figure out what we wanted. We also made some friends in line and learned a lot about the restaurant. We ended up with an Italian and the Reuben, both were incredible. The Italian had so much meat piled onto it and every bite felt luxurious. The Reuben was much the same, a generous helping of meat and the sauerkraut really helped balance everything. I was blown away by the bread on both sandwiches, so soft and it really added a lot to the sandwich as a whole. We sat at the counter and chatted with the owner a bit and were so happy to hear that they're going to be opening a bigger space soon. Pro Tip: They sell out of meats regularly, so if you want to be sure to get the sandwich you desire, you need to try and get there before 1pm.
Great food and staff. We sat at the counter, there's not a lot of seating inside, there are a few tables outside also. We got a Ruben and a Pastrami with potato salad. The sandwiches were HUGE we should have shared,
Golds Deli is a staple of my trips to Columbia. The owner is fantastic to discuss with and really wants to have a unique deli experience for the Columbia population. The food is ALWAYS so fresh and delicious, I typically get the Italian sandwich, but I opted for the Golds special sandwich this time. When I say this sandwich is massive, I am talking pounds of pastrami/corned beef. Typically not a cole slaw fan but adds a nice textural difference for this sando, the thousand island was a nice addition as well. You can either sit in at the counter and chat with the staff, or take it to go. It gives a new modern take on the old school deli counter seat. Seating is super limited! Maybe 10 seats total in the entire place.
Great classic sandwiches with generous amounts of meat. They have a gluten free bread option on smaller bread but they make you two sandwiches so it's the same equivalent size. I had the Reuben on gluten free bread and it was delicious. I had enough left over for another meal. You can eat out on their little sidewalk area (there is limited seating inside or go around the corner to the green area with picnic tables.
I drove here from downtown Nashville and this sandwhich definitely lived up to my expectations. It was fresh and had a little kick to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I must say at all costs get the potato salad. It is SO good. I can't say I will always make the hike down here but if I'm in the area I will certainly swing by to give Abe's favorite a try
A Hidden Gem in Columbia! We recently stopped by this New England-style deli, and let me tell you, it was an experience worth sharing! I had The Original sandwich -- warm corned beef on rye with Swiss cheese -- and it was absolutely outstanding. The corned beef was tender, perfectly seasoned, and piled high on the bread. Every bite was perfection! The pickles were also fresh and tasty and the cole slaw was authentic, creamy deli style. My husband couldn't stop taking bites of mine. We got to sit at the counter, which was a nice touch, and I loved the cozy, old-school vibe of the place. To wash it down, I had a cold bottle of cream soda. The service was quick and friendly - but make sure to get there early as a line does form and they can sell out of deli meat. We were in and out in no time, but I still felt like I got a true deli experience which I had missed living in Nashville. Can't wait to go back again. If you're in Columbia, don't miss this spot!
The sandwiches are stacked with meats. I ordered the pastrami and it was delicious and not fatty like some other sandwich shops. Quick service and very friendly. I will be back.
Still the best in Columbia. We had the Original this weekend. Enough for 2 meals. Delicious. Line out the door and deservedly so! This place is FANTASTIC!
If you're in Columbia stopping by gold's Deli is a must. The prices are amazing for the sandwiches that you get. Definitely check out Abe's Fav. The owner is extremely friendly and so is the staff.
I learned about Gold's Deli from one of my customers a couple of years ago. She said it was THE BEST deli in Middle Tennessee. I love trying out new places to get my grub on, and she wasn't lying! Their sandwiches are incredible. Some might say they're "pricey" but not for the amount of food you get!! Their sandwiches are huge and are often enough food for two! I have quite the appetite, so that's saying a lot for me. If you don't take it to-go, there's a bar that you can sit at to enjoy your food, or you can take it outside to the picnic tables around the back on a nice day. I usually order the FAT ANDY on a Sub Roll with Turkey, Pepperjack Cheese, Jalapenos, Lettuce, Jalapeno Chips, and Chipotle Mayo, but all of their sandwiches are amazingly delicious and quite filling. Be sure to bring your appetite!
Probably the best sandwich shop I have ever been to. I love me some pastrami and they did not disappoint. Friendly service with a HUGE sandwich. It seems like all the sandwich shops are now skimming on the meat, but not this place. They filled that sandwich so full I couldn't only eat half. Which was great because I had a half for dinner. It's not a big place so don't come looking for tables to sit back and relax. They have 4-5 barstools at the counter and that's it. It was great for us because we got to eat and chat with them. If you are looking for a large deli style sandwich, this is your place. Definitely worth the drive if you are not local to Columbia, TN.

When someone expands their business because of its popularity without ever compromising on quality, you have to share it! Gold's Deli in Columbia, TN has become a destination sandwich spot for me. I'll drive 46 minutes just to get one of their sandwiches--and it's worth every minute! If you're craving that authentic deli sandwich you'd find in New York or Boston, you've got to try this place. Caution: These sandwiches may become addictive! Congratulations to George, the owner, for setting the bar so high--and, more importantly, continuing to maintain that level of quality as the business grows. Great food. Great people. Worth the drive! read more

This place is exactly like their slogan; small but mighty. You walk in and are promptly greeted by the friendly staff. You can eat at a couple counter bar stools or order to go. The menu is not vast, but the sandwiches are. I don't even know how I finished a whole one for lunch and dinner and I don't regret it either. The sandwich was piled high with warm corned beef and the Swiss cheese was slightly melty, over the dressing and sauerkraut. It's one of the best I've ever had. I can't even describe how much meat is on it. You can share a half with someone easily! Everyone was fantastic and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back! read more

My foodie family came by today and ordered five sandwiches. I customized the special and put it on a hoagie. Absolutely loved it. It could've used a third more dressing, but it was just fantastic. I look forward to having another , and I'm excited to live in Columbia soon to make that easier. My wife (who runs a from-home bakery) and daughter ordered The New Kid on sourdough. The sourdough is the one downer we had with Gold's. It's dry and takes away from the other quality ingredients. Fixing the bread is an easy fix. Think about this if you're not highly committed to what you've got. read more

10/10 ever time we visited! I love the Italian hero. It's got a good kick. My husband's tried everything on the menu and he loves them all. We brought our family here to have lunch and of course, they loved it too! You can sit at the counter or sit in the park next to the restaurant. It always looks squeaky clean inside. The service was superb! read more

Great food, quick service and nice people - what more could you ask for? I ordered a pastrami and Swiss and got a massive sandwich stuffed with a pound of meat. Incredibly delicious sandwich - will be trying their potato salad the next time after hearing other customers rave about it. read more
Took a ride to Columbia to visit Gold's Deli. Saw a few posts about this spot, pictures were "WOW", and when I hear the word "grinder" being tossed about I'm in. Arrived late in the afternoon and met George Kougias who is the owner and the place has been open about 10 weeks. The place is small...pony up to the counter which seats about 6 and they have some outdoor seating. Enjoyed talking with George, he knows food having been in the food industry for many years. Seems the Reuben and Gold's Special (pastrami) are popular...it was sold out. I had already decided on the Italian Hero and watched George artfully stuff that roll was with so much meat and veggies was magical. I asked for the oil/vinegar on the side so if I only did half it wouldn't be soggy. The meat...delicious and you could taste all of the different flavors while the veggies used were fresh, plentiful, and complimented the sandwich. The roll is soft and good, but not quite a traditional Grinder Roll. It's going to be a tough one to solve, but the roll they use is solid and holds together well. What makes this sandwich different??? For me a couple of things like purple onions, oil/vinegar that also includes seasoning, and a pepper relish that puts this sandwich over the top. I only ate half and took the other half home for a late night snack. George shared with me his version of potato salad...mustard base which normally is not my favorite. When I tasted it I was blown away, lightly sweet, creamy, great flavors, and you barely tasted the mustard. I must admit, this is the best mustard based potato salad I've ever enjoyed. While they have a brand of chips called Dirty Deli Style and they are awesome...grab the potato salad as a side and you will be sooooo happy. Great food, excellent service, and a simple but solid menu...well worth a drive to Columbia or a visit if you're passing through. read more

Gold's Deli does not disappoints. We had "The Original" today which is a pound of pastrami on rye bread and deli mustard! A meal for 2 people to share! The rest of the family shared the "Reuben". George makes some outstanding sandwiches. Line today was out the door at lunchtime. read more

I had a build-your-own sandwich, I really enjoyed the quality and freshness of their ingredients as well as the generous portion sizes. Yes, pricing might be a shock, but you truly get what you pay for - I had to split my sandwich into two meals because it was so substantial! This is a really cute and retro lunch spot. It was great to quickly pick up some sandwiches after church and head home to rest. The staff were so kind and prompt. I love supporting local and seeing so many creative spots blossom in our community! Way better to invest in local talent than in chain food. read more
