We went to the Longneck location last night. First, we ordered the brisket blue cheese spring rolls. They were flavorless. Looked like they were cooked hours before and re=heated. At $14 for 2, it was such a disappointment. I ordered the Fig & Pig flatbread which was very good. My husband ordered a cheeseburger & fries. He said the cheeseburger was good and cooked as requested. The fries were limp and oily as though they'd been sitting in oil. Absolutely inedible. I was there this Monday night. I came in and sat at the bar. It was $10 bourbon and burger night. There was only one customer sitting at the bar eating a burger. I waited 6 minutes while the bartender did everything but acknowledged that I was there. We looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders. I got up and left. Well I didn't write this immediately I did let my experience sink in, I had the Ruben sandwich, it just wasn't good, the meat slices were not the same thickness, the thicker slices were very chewy and hardly any sauerkraut was on it. Not sure how to start, but our server was not very server friendly at all. I guess it is ok with the owners that they come to work and leave sunglasses on and are just not looking so professional. Playing on cell phones chatting pretty loud seeing is how it is just a partial wall and we were seated next to it. My husband got up to use restroom and came back to tell me the girls and a tall thin guy had been eating out of a large bowl ( french fries) because he had seen that we really looked around. Floors dirty with food and then our food finally came and when we opened the silverware up it was NOT clean. ( we asked for more) she said oh sorry not my fault I didnt roll it! Our food was ok not large portions at all. They asked how my husband wanted his burger cooked, but it was so well done almost burnt ( dried out) he ordered it medium, so I guess its just a question not really how you will get it. We have stopped here 3 or 4 times over the last few years. Most recently we were on our way back from kayaking at Trappe Pond, and had a good appetite worked up. We were a party of 4 and stoped early afternoon for lunch. We were quickly seated and the staff was very attentive. We ordered a burger, wings, and the Mac and Cheese. Everyone really enjoyed the food. I picked a lager and found it very good. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing and have always had positive experience with the service. We stopped by even though the reviews weren't stellar. But after reading the bad reviews it had to do more with service than the food/beer so we decided to roll the die and take a chance. This is a case of "don't judge a book by its reviews" - see what I did there So it looks like the service reviews did have some validity to them. It took a few minutes for someone to come greet us after being seated and the table that got seated after us received waters before we did but that's it on the bad. The waitress did make an effort though and it shows. The food was stellar and the beers weren't bad. Of course the opinion on flavor is customer dependent but I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend this place to others. Looks like a family run business based on the servers (who knows?)
