We really enjoyed our dining experience here at the Georgetown family restaurant. Prices aren't inflated like you see everywhere else, and the menu has a plethora of options for everyone! I ended up getting the country style steak with mashed potatoes & corn..it was absolutely tasty. My son got a cheeseburger and scarfed it down super quick! The restaurant itself was very cozy and close quarters to other diners but we didn't mind sharing the space as everyone was pleasant. The waiters and waitresses were also all very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back if we ever find ourselves back in Delaware. read more

I have eaten here twice, once in the late afternoon for lunch during the week and the second time for breakfast on a weekend morning. Both times the food was good and the place was very clean. They have an extensive menu Otherwise there were some differences. The lunch was great as we were served quickly and efficiently. We were one of only about eight tables seated so not very busy at all. Our service was quick and extremely friendly and the food arrived very quickly. Made a great first impression. The second time here was durning a Sunday morning breakfast hour. It was seat yourself and there were tables open. The server acknowledged us after about ten minutes and it was at least another 15 minutes before she came and took our drink orders and asked if we wanted breakfast or lunch. After about five minutes we got he menus and then waited awhile again for her to come back so we could order our food. It was all quite a wait for our food to arrive once ordered and the server never checked in us for refills on drinks so this experience was not as a great. I don't know if it is always like this when it is busy but I will shoot for off hours in the future. So, will I come back, yes because the ambiance is nice and the food has consistently been good but I will aim to come at more off hours so maybe I don't run into service issues unless I have lots of extra time. read more

What a gem!! Met a friend for lunch and everything was marvelous!! Had flounder special and it did not disappoint. Served w soup and a side allowed me plenty for a second meal. It's...fine. For context, we stopped in the day after Thanksgiving around 1pm. Hardly any other customers, yet service to the table and service from the kitchen was slow. I ordered the roast beef "grilled panini" served with an jus. Don't expect a panini (it was just warm on toasted bread, not pressed) and don't expect a traditional French dip either, which is normally on a baguette or sub roll. I was hired by John as a cashier. In the interview I made it clear that I could only work 15 hrs per week due to my disability. I was assured I needed no "restaurant experience " as I was hired as a cashier. I worked 3 days seating folks, getting their drinks, cleaning the tables, and cashing them out. I went above and beyond because I wanted to help out any way I could. On Friday, I had a disagreement with Ashley, the owners girlfriend from what I'm told. It was over 5.00. Ashley wanted my carry out tip and was furious when John agreed I was entitled to the money. Last night I was fired. John said due to my hours (which were discussed at length in my interview). Although he hired me agreeing to adhere to Social Security guide lines, he terminated be due to my disability. Shame on John, the general manager, and the owner!! What a cute little place!! Very bright and inviting. The food was delicious! I had the Cobb lunch special with an upgrade to a bowl of the cream of crab soup. The soup - nice and warm with a touch of old bay. More like a bisque - very thick. Tasty. The salad was huge! Unlike other Cobb salads, this one has 3 grilled shrimp, lump crab meat, bacon AND grilled chicken. Nice crisp greens. Fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and onion. You could tell this was a freshly made salad. Tiffany was my waitress - appropriately attentive and pleasant. I do recommend this restaurant and will be back if I'm In the area. This place has it all. And beautifully remodeled interior with stacked stone, covered ceilings, friendly waiters, surprisingly good portions, and excellent taste. Add to that reasonable price. What's not to like here? We got the turkey bacon salad and the prime rib sandwich and both were outstanding. The chicken noodle soup is good. Fried mushrooms are great. Highly recommend! There's one TV on the wall, and it's showing dog and cat videos. What a treat! EDIT- the bathrooms are clean, but the toilet paper is the thinnest single layer I've ever seen. And, it's on a roller that makes it impossible to get more than just scraps. Bring your own TP!!! read more

Stopped for an impromptu lunch today. I wish they were closer to my location. Pretty empty with only a few tables occupied but it was after lunch and they changed hours to closing at 3 pm daily. I had the lunch special Cobb Salad, which included a soup. This Cobb salad was like no other! It had 3 very large grilled shrimp, sliced very nicely seasoned grilled chicken. Also included in the salad was lump crab meat , bacon and shredded cheese all on a very crispy bed of lettuces. Cherry tomatoes and some cuke slices. I chose the Raspberry Vinaigrette salad dressing but the Bleu Cheese may have been a better choice. Either way , it was delicious and the best Cobb salad I ever had! Served with a slice of garlic bread. The Cream of Crab soup was served hot, was good and creamy served with a sprinkle of my "favorite" Old Bay seasoning. This actually was tasty on the soup. The soup could have had a bit more crab flavor and meat. There is an up charge of $1.50. I had an unsweetened ice tea but it lacked tea flavor , a bit watered down. The have daily lunch specials with several choices. The regular menu is pretty decent as well. Reasonable prices and big portions. Will definitely stop in again when in the area! The service was quick and accurate, our server anticipated our needs, and the place was busy. The ambiance is clean and cheerful. Sodas were McDonald's-level quality, mixed well and cold. Oh man, if I could give this restaurant six stars I would! The scrambled eggs are fantastic and the home fries are even better. For all the restaurants I've been to, this one has the best breakfast. The drinks are also amazing. The Coffee's great, and the orange juice is refreshing. When I first had the O.J. I did not expect it to taste that good. But food and drinks are not the only things great about this place. The service is astounding! It's easy to get seated, there's not a lot of waiting, and the waitress is very nice. After seating ourselves, we watched for 15 minutes patrons who appeared to be regulars have their orders taken despite seating themselves after we did. Mid day meeting - in a rush, in and out, and yet, this restaurant was the greatest pick. In the middle of Georgetown, not so exquisite it exuded fancy to the hilt, yet clean, inviting, welcome when you walk in- unpretentious and comfortable- definitely. Coffee was great and I never drink coffee - service was prompt and constant, the eggs were perfect as well as the toast and overall quick in and out meal. Paying for the check seems a little awkward as far as the location, to the right of the doors you come in, it just seems you are going to pay in an wrong area, not sure why- but that has nothing to do with the experience as a whole. We eat out virtually everyday and love exploring new places. We keep a list of "best dishes"-where to get the best steamed shrimp, cheesesteak sub, hamburger, french fries, pizza, crab cake, etc. The fried chicken here is in our top 3-just terrific and well worth the 20 minute wait. We love this place. The breakfast is what we mostly go in for. Just wished they would season their potatoes lol. As of the end of January, they close at 3 pm due to staffing issues. Sad, because they had great dinners. As for the servers, currently, they are mostly all great folks. There was one, won't say her name, that as soon as we went in, saw her and were like, do we really want to sit in her section or what 10-15 minutes for another section. We always enjoy the food here. The staff is hit or miss, and they seem to have a really high turnover. If you like lettuce leaves you can see through, order a salad. The veggie quesadilla is a favorite, but it seems they'll use whatever veggies they have. It's never consistent what you might get. We've been getting take-out regularly for YEARS, and I can't tell you one time that they got it right. Something is usually missing or wrong. There were so many amazing sounding options on the lunch special list, and they were all very affordable. I ended up ordering a tuna salad wrap. It came with a side and a soup, so I chose the mac and cheese and one of the (several) special soups, pea and dumpling. The tuna salad wrap was good--pretty standard and exactly what I was expecting. The mac and cheese was delicious too! My favorite part of the meal was the soup. The broth was extremely flavorful, and I really love dumplings. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and we got giant-sized iced teas to take back to work with us. I will definitely be back, and it's nice to know that they offer takeout as well. read more

The only problem I ever had with this place is when I ordered $25 worth of food, ate half, got up to use the bathroom, came back, the food was gone and the table was cleared, and when I said "Oh, I wasn't done yet." The girl snapped at me "Well, we didn't know where you where!' loud enough that people in the store stopped and looked, then proceeded to treat me like I was garbage while I paid for it...
