One of the two best Mexican restaurants I have ever found. They serve the best pozole I have ever eaten. Ever. Ever. Ever. I posted a photo of it topped with cilantro and onion from the small toppings bar they have near the register. This is a smaller place with a few tables/booths. There are Mexican items to buy including cooking tools, food stuffs, snacks, boots, and apparel. Not a huge selection, but enough to browse while waiting for your food. I know my husband ordered something really fabulous . . . but I really don't remember because I was so distracted by the amazingly flavorful pozole. For around $13 it was savory and flavorful and full of yummy ingredients. The broth, the pork, and the hominy flavors were perfectly balanced. It comes with tostadas. The pozole is only served on Saturday and Sunday. It's worth the wait. This is one of the foods I've eaten that leaves me craving to return and get more. On the way out, I grabbed some Mexican snacks and candy. This is a great place. You can't go wrong. read more

Easily 5/5!!! This is the best, most authentic Mexican food I've had so far in DE, and I've been searching for a while. We tried the chicken tamales, beef tacos, and beef tortas. The proportion of meat to maize dough on the tamales were perfect. The beef tortas were JUICY and flavorful. This is the biggest thing for me because I've had too many dry tacos at other places. The tortas were beyond amazing and delicious-- the bread was soo soft but lightly crispy on the outside. I'm literally still dreaming about the bread itself. Do they bake it themselves? We found this place on yelp while we were in town visiting the laundromat. Ya'll, these were some of the best tacos I've ever had. They were all delicious but the pastor and birreira were incredible. We come all the way from Houston, Texas twice or three times a year to this place. And we love the food from they serve here. The food is very authentic and good flavor those salsas are an A+. The store has its unique touch lots of products from Mexico, and it makes you feel you're at home. The employees and service is extremely nice and the prices are very reasonable. This is a small shop that is part restaurant and part grocery. You can order at the front register then have a seat in the other seating area until your name or order is called. I ordered the 2 steak tacos and 2 tamales, and an order of rice & beans. While I was waiting I noticed they sell all kinds of goods including a large selection cowboy boots. There is a toppings bar when you get your food. It has lettuce, onions, cilantro, and 3 kinds of sauce. A green mild sauce, a darker green medium sauce and a really fire red sauce. You can put what you want on your food. So for the food: 4 stars for the tacos & beans In rice. Tacos were in a double tortilla, the steak was very seasoned and good. Beans and rice were fresh and very delicious. 2 stars for the tamales, I think they need to be less dry. I will go back for tacos and loved the local family owned business! read more

I walked in and I knew that was an amazing place. The smells take me back to the streets of Condesa and Roma Norte instantly. The music, I remember hearing it everywhere - and food is perfect and the service is even better. I looked all over for sugar skulls and papel picado, and NO WHERE to be found and I walked in and VOILA! Papel Picado and the last 6 sugar skulls - and these needed accessories for the ofrenda we are building at school - I felt like I hit the jackpot. I was so eager to pick up my order I accidentally picked up another individual's food and drink, and despite realizing I did this, the staff made up for my mistake and treated me as if I did nothing. Generous, the taste you would be looking for from Mexico, and tons of items for sale on the other side of the restaurant. The atole was nothing short of AMAZING and hit the spot perfectly and again I accidentally picked up Horchata and downed that not realizing until too late, I had picked up the wrong dinner - however, both were AMAZING. Hole-in-the-wall GEM in Georgetown!! Part grocery store and part taco joint, this place is a must try if you're in the area (even worth making a special stop for it!) As a vegetarian, this place had amazing options, including quesadillas, tostadas, and burritos. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. So glad I took her recommendation and got the burrito. The refried beans are to die for! The portions were large, the food tasted fresh, and the flavors were incredible. In addition, they have a variety of hot sauces and salsas to try (self service). Only downside is the seating area could be improved upon. Hopefully they will expand and come to the Lewes/Rehoboth area next. This was the best Mexican food I have had outside of Puerto Rico. What a terrific place! Wonderful carne asada tacos - don't forget all the fresh lime, cilantro, lettuce, cabbage and home-made (I think...) salsas in their condiments bar. Ohhh! So good. The burrito was full of flavor without being unduly heavy. The tamales had just the right spice level (add more salsa picante should you wish)... and may have been a bit brittle in texture... but all the flavor was there. Warm and friendly service in what appears to be a family-run establishment... so good. The ambiance is a classic hole-in-the-wall - The restaurant is combined with a mercado (market) and situated in a long narrow section of a strip-mall. Ok, the prior reviews were right on this place was GREAT! I did not know what to expect when I walked in the door. The young adult employees who I presumed are the owners children kindly explained how the ordering process worked. So my family grabbed the menus and browsed around the store portion of the store. We were AMAZED by the selection of authentic Mexican products from shoes, snacks, drinks and multiple gifts. So we finally ordered and when our entrees were anounced I was stunned how BIG the portions were. We ordered almost every type of entree available. Everything was AWESOME!! This is authentic Mexican food for the masses!!! Sometimes when you walk into a place as culturally rich as this joint, you feel intimidated and uncomfortable if you are not "from" this demographic. These guys were so friendly. The young host offered to translate anything we didn't understand and encouraged us to look around the store, where they have an incredible range of dried peppers. This place is a hidden gem! If you're looking for authentic Tacos like a taqueria, I recommend you stop here. They had a great selection of tacos like Lengua, Pastor, Asada, Carnitas etc. I haven't found any good Mexican food in the south & this was soooo tasty! If you're going for good food, stop by here. Don't judge the book by its cover because this place looks like a store at first but is more catered towards food. My FIL read somewhere that this was the best taco joint in DE. The article was right! Everything is fresh and authentic. Not a fancy place, so don't worry about dressing up.
