Big portions, decent value. This is the Mexican food I remember getting when I lived down in Virginia. The chori-pollo is something I always love to get at Mexican restaurants and this one does a great job with it. The chicken is a little dry, but the savory chorizo and tangy queso work well to bring out the best flavors of this dish. Unfortunately the Mexican rice it is served with is a little bland and not very fluffy. If offered another opportunity I would come back here and try another dish. With the menu as vast as it is, you would be hard pressed to not find something you would be able to eat. read more

Stopped here for lunch and it was very good. The inside is very cute with lots of murals and wall art which I enjoyed. The service was okay, not great but I noticed that the other server for booths across the way was very attentive so it was just our server that we rarely saw. As far as food, timelines and quality, we were very pleased. We had a chicken dish, some enchiladas and a steak meal and all of the food was excellent. The portions were a decent size and I even had enough left over for dinner. Most people seemed to be enjoying margaritas so I am looking forward to going back again and having a beverage. Beautiful wood work everywhere booths,tables, chair, etc. Was sat promptly and before I could get adjusted at the table, there hostess was there with homemade chips and salsa! Salsa was incredible. My wife ordered the two chicken chimichangas deep fried and it was very good. I order the Pinch3s tacos (#60), 3-steak shrimp tacos w homemade hot sauce that's to die for! Finished off with fried ice cream(me) and Xangos for my wife, delicious! So if you're looking for authentic tasty Mexican food, this is the place. As a restaurant worker for 10 years and going this is one of the most amazing Mexican restaurants I've been to (and I've worked at plenty in this areas helping out) but Pamela was such a darling she Greated us right at the door and turned on the open Sign right when I got there 2 minutes before opening (it made me and my friend feel real special) but yes 10/10 recommendations please ask for her her hospitality is out of this world read more

There are two kinds of Mexican food the area - very traditional, and "Americanized". Sol Azteca trends towards the later - not a "bad" thing, just a "thing". What they do, they do VERY well. Inside it's bright, colorful, and clean. The moment you come through the door, you're greeted with people who smile, and clearly want to be there, and treat people well. The service is excellent. Queso with chorizo was very good - clearly made with good ingredients and not skimping on the meat, which was quite spicy. Drinks are a solid pour, and the house margarita is a steal at $7, served up in a huge goblet. Other more "top-shelf" drinks and margaritas are also excellent, and a strong pour. Food always comes out piping hot. Carnitas are superb, as are fajitas. Shrimp and scallops, surprisingly, are not overcooked and portion sizes are big. I ordered shrimp & scallop fajitas and received 6 shrimp, and 4 full sized scallops - much more than I expected. Tamales are great too. Rice is not dry, and beans are well seasoned. Ignore the negative reviews - there were NO flies, the drinks are a great pour, and "bland" is not a word that applies - everything is tasty and flavorful. Yeah, you can't please everyone, but if you're looking for a place to enjoy some good tacos, fajitas, queso, enchiladas, etc... Sol Azteca is a solid "yes". read more

Extensive menu and good food. Tonight my partner has California burritos which he loved and I had the chimichanga trip- fried. Prices are reasonable! Came here for dinner and the restaurant is nicely decorated & clean. We were seated immediately. They have a large drinks & food menu. Drinks: Modelo Especial, frozen mango margarita and frozen strawberry margarita. The margaritas were good and beers were cold. Food: Tex-mex fajita - portion was big and has shrimp, beef & chicken. It came with tortillas, frijoles, guacamole, lettuce & sour cream. The meat were a little over cooked but did have. Good taste to it. Roast steak ribs - came with tortillas, 2 fried eggs. The steak ribs were tasty and moist. Definitely will go back to try their other dishes. read more

Great experience! We popped in here close to closing time and the place was jumping! Service was wonderfully friendly and prompt. The mariachi band was playing around the dining room and sounded great! The food was delicious and came out very quickly. Chips and salsa for the table were excellent. The salsa has a little kick to it but was delicious. We really appreciated how welcoming, upbeat and friendly the entire staff was. We would definitely recommend giving this place a try! read more

Everything about this restaurant is positive from our experience. They are welcoming, quick to serve and friendly. It's nicely decorated - much more than normal, including nicely done woodwork. We had iced tea (they have both sweet and unsweetened), the vegetarian quesadilla and the tri color chicken enchiladas. Everything was fantastic, including the chips and salsa. We'll be back! Mexican food for gringos. Definitely Taco Bell grade beef, chicken was pretty bland, a tiny side of pico de gallo was $2! They left off the tortillas from our order so I can't grade them. Everyone working there had the mestizo look to them so we (used to eating Tex-Mex in Texas) had some expectations, but this was the equivalent of El Chico- bland bland bland. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, do not come here. Go next door to the panaderia or the bagel place. If you have zero experience or expectation, the food is fine. read more

Do not go here and use your debit/ credit card. They will add a tip to your bill even when you write on the reciept not too. They have done it several times to me on takeout orders. read more

mannnnn this place! i came around 6 and i was severed at 7:30 when we got sat down the waitress didn't come to us until we told someone else to get our server. we got our drinks and everything was fine till our food got here, everyone got their food but my sons food was the very last one to get to the table. we didn't get our tortillas till we was almost done eating it was UNEXCEPTABLE. the server took long to get use our refills that we had asked for.
