Great food ,good service also nice atmosphere ,has pool tables close to home right on the river

Just recently moved to area and this came up as a recommendation for great burgers. We went and it was a fun relaxing, friendly environment. We ordered crab balls and wings as starters which were amazing and then burgers which were a good size, tasty , filling and came with fries, tater tot's or chips. I went with fries - delicious and he chose tater tot's which were as expected. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying other options. read more

The place is a typical dive bar but I love it. People are very friendly, we go with a group of people. We have so much fun especially Mingo night. Food is good, drinks are never watered down. If you're in a hurry to eat, don't go but if you don't mind having a few cocktails first ,I highly recommend. The price is very reasonable read more

Riverside offered friendly service on a quiet midday visit, with unexpectedly good food by chef Sean Lasher. The big boy Mac and grilled cheese with brisket made my husband very happy, as was I with the flounder fish and chips- absolute standout: the best collards we've had in ages! Best fries in Sussex! I'm at Riverside once a week and I dream about their fries the other 6 days. The foods from the fryer ALWAYS taste fresh and clean - they must be on TOP of cleaning the oil. Recently discovered their fried rockfish which is delicious and second IMO only to the fries. So tasty. read more

Monday my friend brought dinner home and surprised me. After eating the best damn cheeseburger I ve had in a long time with an appetizer of delicious blackened tuna bites. I ask her, "where did you get this food."? She says , "Riverside Grill". I'm like," where is that?" She had been sailing and found this grill in Oak Orchard on the river. On Mondays its free burger toppings. You have a new fan. Prices are reasonable and food was so Damn good. Delicious tasting cheeseburger with awesome bread bun. I wish I took a picture of the cheeseburger. There are so many places that sell mediocre cheeseburgers but not a good cheeseburger. She said the owner, Gus, was super friendly and nice and struck up conversation with her. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here. She said its really close to "Seredepiditys" whose prices are a lot higher and not as good as what I've eaten. Thanks Gus. read more

My friends and I were not local to the area (or state for that matter). So with that said, we ended up here randomly after a wedding at the local fire department (not too far away). Having been dressed from head-to-toe in formal wedding attire we obviously got looked at and upon entry we immediately felt judged. Everyone in the bar looked as if they were in pajamas. Legit in the pajamas. PAJAMAS. Hahaa, I remember being in that moment and feeling so jealous (and WAY overly dressed) that they all looked overly comfortable and all I could think about was my burning desire to throw my heels across the room. The bartenders (both females) ignored us and our overall presence until my girlfriend and I disappeared into the bathroom. Fortunately, we came back to drinks purchased by our boyfriends. Both bartenders told our boyfriends that the kitchen was closed, however, after a few minutes passed by she delivered French fries to the man next to us... -.- I wouldn't say the bartenders were friendly or even the patrons for that matter. Once we finished our drinks we left because we were just uncomfortable. Also, there was a very odd sign on the door stating "No Colors No Thugs No Drugs." --I'll just let your mind wonder. read more

Great place for locals. Just discovered it thanks to a neighbor recommending Taco Tuesdays. We met the owner, Gus, when we drove by yesterday who told us about the menu and weekly specials. Today when we ate lunch the chef came out and told us about the different chicken wing flavors. Our waitress was friendly and helpful answering our questions about a few menu items. Will have to come back some Thursday for Mingo, Music Bingo, and half price wings special. I really enjoyed the rock fish and fries basket. Overall nice place. Pool tables are decent they only have 3 tables wish they had more. Staff is friendly and nice. Good prices on food and drinks. As for the people who come in here they are friendly delaware people. Place is as clean as one would expect for a pool hall / bar / grill. read more

Worst. Service. Ever. Waited an hour and a half for our dinner. When my husband went to check, he was told, "We're very busy tonight." However, more than a dozen people were served before us. On the second try to find out what happened to our food, he discovered that our order had never even been entered. No apology, no rush to finally get us our food. Food was beyond bar food greasy -- as in dripping with grease. Would have left, but it was important for us to support a friend who was singing with the band that night. read more

My family owns property in the area and whenever the hustle/bustle of northern life gets to be a bit too much, I come south to get away. Having a bar within walking distance of you house is awesome:) I keep coming back not just because it's close, but because the food is legitimately good. Yes, some of the fried items are legit greasy, but mine have always been cooked all the way through and again: TASTE GOOD. Yes, the menu may be small/limited but it is appropriate for the size of the establishment and actually covers a good variety despite its small size. There are only 2 negative things that I could say about this place: 1) The Bar opens at one time and their Kitchen opens at another and 2) The place still smells of cigarette smoke from when you could still smoke inside in DE. Let it be known: neither of those things is a turn off for me. Neither one of those things affects my desire to want to come back. Honestly? Went there last night with four others, first time in nearly seven years. Liked it a lot. Beers really reasonable. Sliders awesome tasting as well. Loaded nachos were good as well. Staff friendly and attentive as well, even as busy as they were at the bar (we had table). Definitely a hidden gem of friendliness and amazing food. Don't let the understated outside give you the wrong impression. The seafood tacos are the best that I've ever had. Try it without the orange sauce and just use the mango salsa. It is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, the acidity and freshness. They have a way of making the taco shell that produces a light, crispy container that somehow has the best of a hard and soft shell. Feeling adventurous, then try a bucket of river water.
