Great experience. Ordered 3 pies: forager feast and the spinach pizza. The dough is actually the best I've ever had in my life. Sesame is a little heavy due to the cheese used, but if you stop when your body tells you to (I didn't) you will enjoy. Great staff that checks in regularly. I do wish the space was smaller or more furnished, but that won't stop me from coming here every time I'm in Montclair. Tell them to go light on creamy cheeses and you won't be able to put your pie down. Can't wait to go here again. read more

Ignore the negative reviews. Those people don't appear to have any appreciation / understanding of what Neapolitan pizza is, how it is prepared and the end result of that process. It's not quite on the level of places like Motorino, et al in the city, but it's damn close. It's some of the best Neapolitan pie I've had in the states. The meatballs were also fantastic; melt in your mouth level of tenderness. read more

Great pizza, also good brussel sprouts appetizer. The BYOB is a plus. great vibe, very lively.

Love this place. Very creative, unique crust with the flavor of brick oven but a deliciously doughy chew you'd find in a bakery.

Came last night with my family for my birthday dinner. Luckily we are just a short walk away--we have done takeout from here many times but never ate in. Very nice dining room, fantastic waiter who gave us impeccable, friendly service, and everything we ate was extremely delicious. Plus the food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. The highlight for me was the Mary Had a Little Lamb pizza, which was very unusual and so good--homemade merguez sausage ragu, tomatillo salsa and grated ricotta salata. The dough on all the pizzas is so good--with that nice blister you get from a very hot wood burning oven. Honestly, any pizza here is outstanding--you can't go wrong. Highly recommended! read more

Went for gluten free pizza and I wasn't disappointed. If you don't mind a deep dish gf that's light and fluffy, then this is the place!!! read more

Update to my previous review. Brick + Dough has figured out service. We had a pleasant meal outside with attentive service. Huge difference from six months ago. All of the wait staff has shirts that say "it's all about the dough" ... I completely agree- it is all about the dough, but the dough ain't that good here. It tends to be very doughy. Love the taste, love the pie choices, but please crisp up the dough. read more

Went here last week and was blown away with the food service and overall vibes. I'd say it's priced reasonably and the food comes out quick! We got the plain and chicken parm pizza and they were visually appealing to the eye and to the stomach! After dinner we tried the cookie crumble cheesecake and it was the perfect desert. Nice and light and was sweet but not too sweet... just right. Perfect date spot and will definitely be going back! read more

Went to dinner here recently with some friends. It's really a 3 1/2 star place. Nice decor, friendly staff although our waiter was a typical clueless millennial. Didn't know half of what they served there, but by the end of the meal we were joking around with him. We all loved the apps: cheesy breadsticks with marinara and stracciatella, crispy brussel sprouts and poutine. The pizzas were burnt and mediocre tasting. Hence my rating, if your prime business is pizza it better be awesome, it was not and it was also overpriced. We all said not going back. Plenty of other better options in Montclair. read more

Great pizza and other delicious food -- BYO -- great service -- very affordable -- give this place a try!

Excellent pizza. We'll definitely be back. The menu has very interesting choices. I recommend it.

So happy I found this place. Pizza was so good- the dough was a perfect blend of crispy and soft. And the pepperoni was so savory and delicious. A definite hit! read more

We drove an hour to the restaurant. When we arrived, we were told that we would be seated in 45 minutes. After an hour, we called to check on the availability of our table. The phone just rang. We called back and while on hold we walked into the establishment to see a worker standing next to the phone ignoring the call. While waiting to inquire about an update on when we'd be seated, we were told that there was still no inside seating available. Immediately following the remark, we watched a walk-in party be seated right away inside the restaurant. After and hour and a half, we realized that they weren't going to ever call us to be seated, so we picked up food from another restaurant on the way back home. Three and half hours later, we've not received a call back, text or smoke signal to alert us that our table is ready. We're never stepping foot in this unprofessional establishment ever again. read more

When you get a chance stop here and the cheeseburger bowl. OMG you will thank me later. It's the cheeseburger without the bread but with garlic rice added. Geesh I'm addicted to this dish. The rating is strictly based on the cheeseburger bowl. Haven't tried other items because I can't stop eating this. read more

If you love brick oven pizza this is the place for you! Really awesome people that work there, friendly environment. I am not a gluten free girl but if I had to be I would eat their gluten free pizza all the time, by far the best I've tried. But back to the regular pizza.....delicious!!!! The buffalo chicken was so yummy and pepperoni was ok point. Really enjoyed! read more

Lots of attitude. Careful. Don't dare ask for gluten and vegan in the same sentence. You will be trounced upon, denied and set upon.. You may have gluten free or vegan free. Just Not on the same pizza. I think they were to lazy or angry birds to cook me a fresh pie. Say what? Had the hamburger...fantastic! And, what is with No Menu's!!! Counter Staff said I had to "Download" the menu on my phone. My blood was boiling by then. Ixny on the Brick and Doughy read more

Wanted to love this place - went for the first time today to get a small pizza for my daughter - we waited, service was quick as they had just opened and had a small pie handed to us in under 10 mins ....but that small pie was $17!!! And then we got home and found that it was totally burnt :(. The few bites that weren't black were good, but more than half the pie was blackened. For $17 for a small pie I would not expect that. Will not be returning. read more

I want to start off by saying I have never left a bad review in my life. I got takeout and loved my pizza. My issue was with the manager who fielded a complaint. I ordered a caesar salad for $14.00 and they sent me a side of ranch dressing instead of caesar dressing. I called for a refund and the manager told me he was "visualizing" my order and that he put caeser dressing in the box. I told him 3 times it was ranch and he insisted that this was their caesar dressing. He refused to refund the salad. I am a supporter of small business and the customer is NOT always right. He could have just refunded the mistake, but decided to dig his heels. The condescending tone that I don't know the difference between ranch and caesar was really frustrating. Now he can answer to ownership for the negative review. read more

My family and I got the 5 cheese pizza with sausage, crispy pepperoni, and 3 Sicilian slices of pesto burrata, cheese, and margarita. The Sicilian slices tasted as if it were sitting out for a while and the bread was a bit stale. The whole pizzas tasted average but not worth $15. This is personal taste but I would have liked the five cheese pizza to have tomato sauce since it was a bit dry. I wouldn't personally go back and felt as though it was overpriced. My friend and I shared the 5 cheese pizza and we didn't even fight for the last slice. If you're a crust lover this is a place for you, but my friend and I unfortunately aren't so there was way too much crust for us. read more

Great food and really appreciate the quality of everything. I'd left an earlier review and removed it because I was talking about how disappointed I was that management closed the bakery and didn't offer slices or bakery items anymore. But I corresponded with the management and it was really beyond their control, and times are very very tough for the restaurant and local business industries. I should have been more empathetic. Of course I will continue to support this business and I've already been telling friends about how great their pizza and GF pizza is! read more

Really nice Neoplatonish style of pizza. Great inviting atmosphere really well done. Worth a visit if you love great pizza.

Not terrible, but not amazing either. What dampened by overall rating was the service of the young lad at the counter who definitely had no intention of helping us with orders or giving options, I had to ask a lot of probing questions to the point where I felt like I was interviewing a candidate. The chai latte had no flavour but maybe this is not the place to expect a flavourful chai. The almond croissant had a tasty almond centre but was burnt on the edges and hence inedible. The aesthetics and set up is actually really nice but could do with better counter staff who try to smile and whom really promote the products. Would be handy to have a menu on the hot beverages visible. read more

Just wow. This pizza is perfection. The dough is so light and fluffy. The sauce is expertly balanced. The cheese and toppings are amazing quality. Can't wait to come back snd try more!! read more

All of the meals here are delicious, with some quite unique and others just great renditions of classics. The newly added pizzas are are solid, especially the sesame seeded one. The only thing that lacks a bit here are the breakfast pastries and the coffee which is a bit too light for my taste...but that's just me being picky, I think. read more

Amazing, the food makes my mouth water and every time I go there I leave with a full stom

Fist time visiting this place.... the food was fine, however the SERVICE from the OWNER was NOT. The owner needs to invest in hospitality and customer service skills. The hired help was great the OWNER was not flexible and rude! Will not be frequenting this place again since the owner did not make us feel welcomed. We asked for a different table and were told that if we did not like our table we did not need to dine here (the owner told us this). It's a BYOB place and I always have my wine bottle opener in my wine bag and the OWNER followed us outside accusing us of taking his corkscrew ..... very POOR customer service skills - by the way we were middle aged ladies getting together for a friend's birthday. Poor service = No more business from us. read more

I ordered the buff chick. The pizza tastes pretty good but it's expensive for the size. The website didn't list the size of the pizza, which was unfortunate when I received a personal size pizza pie intended to feed 3 people. read more

So I went to this place on a whim for the first time with my family. It's byob which is great! The food was also very good. My issue is with the service. The second time I tried to go to the restaurant I booked online with Resy at 7:15pm on a Saturday for a table, (not a high top) my reservation was confirmed via email. My fiancé and I went in and there were plenty of 4 seat tables available, but they tried to seat us at a high top table which we don't like as my fiancé has a fused spine and gets uncomfortable in high top chairs. I told the waitress this and we walked back to the front. The manager then told us I booked a high top table so I pulled up my confirmation email which stated table not high top. He then tried to back track and state that once Resy is filled with reservations for tables it auto fills the reservations into high tops. That wouldn't be the case though because Resy allowed me to book a table and there were plenty of times available for table reservations and high top reservations. Instead of trying to fit us in at our scheduled time, or offer something for the wait, he suggested we go to the brewery nearby, or a bar and then come back at 8:30pm. We picked the reservation time for a reason and the fact that the accommodations were not honored made me very upset. So we ended up going to the Thai restaurant right next door for dinner. Very upset with the way they handled this situation and tried to put the blame on me. read more

PERFECT outdoor private event space. Intimate patio that fit 13 guests comfortably. Lindsey + Jason could not have been more lovely to work with, and made my sister's baby shower perfect. Last evening I posted a review that expressed my disappointment that the customer was receiving less product for the same amount. We called the restaurant first to check into the change and they said it was just cut differently. Shortly after I posted my review, the owner reached out to explain that they have changed the dimensions of the pizza (as explained in an Instagram post. I do not follow them on instagram) and also they have reduced the upcharge of the crust by half, so he knew I paid the new price and to please remove my post. I'm glad he reached out so I could correct my review. Upon reading the Instagram post, I went back to the website, that I'm sure will more efficiently be updated after this review, because it still shows on the main page a 12" pizza for $25, then when you click the link it's a 9" pizza for $20. So where I was asked to remove my post regarding paying the same amount for less, I can accurately state where it was once a six piece cut (if you chose) to now a four piece cut, the customer is paying more. And while it is a marginal change in price per slice, it is the principle of the matter. As someone with many food sensitivities I often end up paying more for things, it's not great but I've come to accept it. I also don't post reviews often but in this case I'm glad I did. Being asked to update a review once information is received is one thing, being asked to remove is another. But again, I'm glad this interaction occurred so I could get all the information and share my review, that will not be removed again. read more
