My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice spot for brunch while on an overnight trip to Annapolis, and Google led us here. Location is amazing. Gorgeous views of the water and boats in the marina. Outdoor tables right next to the boats. We even got to see a giant boat being moved that went right past our table. Ordered our food inside at the counter, and they brought it out to us. Surprisingly little to no seafood on the menu given its proximity to the water. My girlfriend got the Hippy Hash Skillet with marble rye toast, and I got the brunch burger with house chips. She loved her rye toast but said everything else was just ok, and I loved the chips, but I was very underwhelmed by the burger. I asked for it medium but there wasn't a trace of pink on the inside. In addition, while writing this review I looked over their menu again and realized my burger was supposed to come with roasted garlic aioli and maple bourbon bacon jam, but came with neither. This would have been an easy fix at the time but I just didn't remember these two ingredients were supposed to be part of it. So all I got was a dry burger with a hash brown and a fried egg with the yolk cooked through. Not a bad place to eat but as there are so many options in the area, not sure if we would return on our next trip to Annapolis.

Came here for the first time for Sunday brunch. Very crowded, but that's expected (and a good sign!). There was live music outside by the water. You order at the counter and then find a seat. There was a relatively long wait for food. The food was good - pancakes were yummy and the hippy hash skillet was decent too. My only complaint is the skillet was rather burnt. It would've been great if the skillet wasn't burnt. Would come back though!

We tried this place because it had so many great reviews. We weren't disappointed by the food...it was delicious, but the ambiance was a bit funky! I had the BBK Sandwich and it was delicious. My husband had the Hippy Hash and loved it too. The restaurant is right at the marina, so it's fun to see the boats. The place was packed when we went there and only the sofa with TV trays were available. Unusual, but whatever!

This is a casual diner serving all-day lunch and breakfast. Came here on a Friday around 12:30. Service was fast and friendly. There were a few tables available outside and inside. I got the oyster mushroom po-boy and my partner got the Philly cheesesteak. I'd give them 8/10. Pretty good. I liked how there were lots of vegetarian/vegan options. I'd come back!

In the charming neighborhood of Eastport along the water is an equally charming cafe that serves breakfast all day. The menu is big with lots of comfort foods like pancakes, but I ordered the Southern Chicken Biscuit and I wasn't mad about it. On a busy Sunday around 11:30am, it took ten minutes for the food to come, but when it did, I was happy. A fried chicken breast comes on a warm biscuit with bacon, cheese, fried egg, and sriracha honey. Don't worry. It's not spicy. In fact, I wanted an extra side of the hot honey. The sandwich was very good and filling! The space itself is small, but next door is another room with more tables, restrooms, water, etc. There are a few tables outside along the water too.

Really cute little dockside eatery in a cozy space with outdoor seating. I was in Annapolis just for fun and wanted to try a local spot for lunch. It was hard to tell online if there was indoor seating--there is a bar with stools and a couple tables. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. The menu was interesting, there were vegetarian/vegan options and all day breakfast. I got the black bean with butternut squash grain bowl. It was a bit underwhelming. I didn't like that the quinoa was served cold, then topped with some hot ingredients. It didn't taste very good with cold quinoa. If it had been warmed up it would have tasted a lot better. Nothing was really seasoned and the dish relied heavily on the dressing for flavor. I kept looking over at the guy next to me who ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich (which looked amazing), yearning for some flavor. I doused the whole thing in Cholula I found on the table in desperation. I did enjoy the molasses cookie I got. It was nice eating by the window at the bar seating. There's little planters hanging which really adds to the vibe. Cute spot, nice little lunch place.

Mixed reviews for our table, but I would return for their lunch sandwiches. Skip breakfast items, especially the biscuit. One exemption was rhe buttermilk pancake, that was tasty. The ITEM to get was the toasted sandwich and the taste of chicken and avocado was perfection. Some fyi's would be that they give tou a cup for water to be filled by fountain type device outside. Drinks are limited to tea and everything else pretty much bottled. Service was efficiently speedy. Breakfast a 2 lunch food a 5 so meeting in the middle ish.

Annapolis has a number of vibrant local gathering spots, but Bread and Butter Kitchen is at the top of the list. They have added to the original space so they have multiple seating options: Counter stools, cozy tables, and even a couch. There is a conference room space that can be booked for meetings, and it is lovely--so nicely decorated and fully equipped. My senior women's group met there this morning for a coffee gathering. Today was a rainy morning, so the marina waterside tables were not in use. But we had such a nice, cozy gathering in "The Hub." The coffee bar has multiple coffee offerings, and a number of flavoring syrups. And the scones are to die for! I had a blueberry scone that was pure heaven. The owner goes out of her way to greet guests, and the whole staff is consistently friendly. No wonder the line is often out the door. On weekends, they often have musicians playing outside. It is a community-centered, warm, and inclusive establishment with a very positive vibe. They also do catering. I visited another establishment up in Crownsville that had food items from B&BK.

I really enjoyed our visit here! We came for the 4th of July for lunch. It was very busy but they kept the line moving quickly. Food only took 15 minutes to come out! Seating is limited but we were able to grab some at seating by the window. The chicken biscuit here was by far the best part of the meal! It's a honey sriracha and was perfectly seasoned/garnished. The kale salad was light and refreshing (I added some pepper to give it some more spice). It's a casual family friendly spot, and had lots of plants and large windows to keep it airy! Came by while at the naval academy, parking seems to be super congested (but we got super lucky with a spot right out front). I have admittedly struggled to locate vegetarian meals in Annapolis (honestly, across the DMV) that are not lifeless salads given the understandable obsession with all things seafood. Bread and Butter kitchen was a fantastic find to address my meatless needs. There were so many options for meat avoiders and meat lovers, with unique finds like the Banh Mi made with oyster mushrooms - it rocked and kinda stayed on water theme (oyster?! Even if the mushroom variety??) Right next to the water, you can also eat your meal in a picturesque setting, perfect for the 'gram (or the yelp). Highly recommend and will be back!

This is a nice spot for breakfast. It is small and definitely for the locals. You place your order with the cashier and find seating (if you can) or take your order to go. There is outdoor seating if you come during the warm months. I had a veggie omelette and potatoes. Both were good. The potatoes were seasoned. Hubby had the western omelette with potatoes. I really enjoyed our breakfast experience at Bread and Butter Kitchen! Bread and Butter Kitchen makes most of their items from scratch, they work with local farmers and vendors for best ingredients, menus feature seasonal items, and there are vegetarian and gluten-free options! The hubs and I came here while we were passing through Annapolis, and we decided to have an early breakfast here. We ordered: Salsa de Huevos (came with scrambled eggs, homemade salsa, refried beans, and corn tortillas; this dish was so tasty! We both loved the homemsade salsa and how this was all about assembling!); Biscuits & Gravy (fresh baked biscuit smothered with the house chorizo sausage gravy; also served with two eggs; the gravy was creamy and thick and the biscuits were buttery and fluffy!); and, the BBK (two fried eggs, bacon, sharp cheddar, avocado, red onions, and roasted garlic aioli on a choice of bread (toasted white, wheat, rye, or sourdough; I opted for the sourdough); this sammie was so tasty! Loved the garlic aioli, and I should have asked for extra!). The staff here are super friendly, and while there is a line and the place gets super busy, super quick, the food comes out pretty quickly, considering! I'd love to check out their lunch menu on our next visit! There is limited seating indoors, so grab a spot as soon as you can! Great spot for a waterfront lunch or breakfast away from the crowds of downtown Annapolis. This little restaurant has tables right on the marina and they bring your food out after you order from the friendly staff at the counter. We came here for lunch and then took a nice walk through the Eastport neighborhood checking out cute old restored houses with nicely landscaped yards. I had a classic grilled cheese with tomato soup which as perfect. I want to get the cheesesteak on my next visit. We enjoyed the food and location so much that we came back for Saturday brunch and were pleasantly surprised to see they had a singer performing as we ate at our waterfront table. They have music every Saturday morning! I got the Huevos with salsa refried beans and tortillas which were great after I added some Chollo Sauce heat. Our grandson really liked his kid plate of silver dollar blueberry pancakes and bacon. Really nice staff, great food, music with brunch, no crowds, on the water. Can't beat this place. read more

Such a cute place!! The vibes here were like a little family restaurant and I wish I had known about this place earlier!! Definitely support them if you can!! Customer service- the cashier was super nice and friendly. Hippy Hash Skillet- really really GOOD!!! this dish has potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, spinach, green pepper, mushroom, tomato, onion, and cheese, scrambled with eggs. I thought it might be too salty because of all the meat in it but it was actually the perfect amount of saltiness. You can see them making your food right behind the cashier which I though was really cool. I don't think there is parking designated for this place but the streets are usually pretty open so you can find a parking spot pretty easily! Loved this place and I'm definitely coming back for more! read more

Bottom Line: A quaint cafe with some of the best views in Annapolis. Bread and Butter Kitchen was a little tricky to find and figuring out where to park was even trickier. But once I found a spot on the curb I thoroughly enjoyed a casual weekday lunch with amazing views of Spa Creek. The staff was super friendly and equally welcoming was the menu of comfort classics. I had a chicken wrap with fresh homemade chips. I can usually pass on chips but these were quite addicting. Bread and Butter Kitchen is a small space best suited for solo diners or pairs or perhaps a trio. But, you can also get your meal to go. read more

Woman/VETERAN OWNED, fully inclusive and disabled friendly! The food is second to none and they even have a pay ot forward program to ensure those who cant afford a meal could get one! I've been to Bread and Butter kitchen countless times since they opened their doors. I love the quality of the food, the diversity of the menu- truly something for everyone and the unparalleled quaint location, the service is awesome and you can generally see/speak with the owner as she is ever present right behind the counter working alongside everyone in the kitchen. Eating here is like getting in on the "locals" secret treasure. During the early days of the pandemic, I'll never forget the owner gave out rolls of toilet paper when it was hard to come by in Annapolis, she just gave them when you went to pick up to-go orders! read more

Found myself in Annapolis on a Saturday morning and wanting a quick breakfast before I hit the highway. As always, I used Yelp as my guide. Bread and Butter is a cute, little place. The staff was *extremely* friendly -- and the setting is charming. I ordered biscuits and gravy, with eggs and sausage. The food is so good!! I got the chipotle chicken sandwich on sourdough and it was probably the best sandwich I have had in a long time. Came with our 3 little kids on Sun morning. Couldn't believe how quickly our food was prepared, and I'm still dreaming about the most delicious biscuit I'd ever had. Even though there is only a tiny inside seating area, my kids love sitting at the counter, and they had the perfect tiny seat for our 6 month old. There is SO much outdoor seating right on the water, parking can be tricky, but read the signage and there are always spots available. I love that we can place our order online and swing in and pick it up. The scones are fantastic, the vegan BLT is extra amazing. My kids LOVE the pancakes. Came here at the recommendation of a friend. Lots of parking nearby. A number of small tables (2 and 4 seaters) by the water, most with umbrellas. It was a lovely place to have breakfast, although a little noisy at times with boats being towed back and forth. The guy at the cash register seemed pretty new and wasn't able to answer our questions, but the biscuit and fried chicken sandwich I had was excellent. Coffee was okay. My husband enjoyed his burrito but felt that the portion size could have been better. Overall, solid place for a meal, especially if you can snag one of the tables with a view! read more

We had a fabulous carry out breakfast from Bread and Butter today. It was fabulous! I got just a simple egg sandwich and I thin it was one of the best I've ever had! Very friendly people working there. Has a beautiful view, right across from the Chart House. I found easy parking right next to it. Probably easier to take 2nd Ave all the way down if coming from Eastport. read more

I have the same breakfast order no matter where I go. This is hands down the best omelet I've had. It was a cool, windy morning, and we sat out side. The entire staff was super friendly, there were a few pups around which is always great and they were setting up live music. My husband had the chicken biscuit with sausage gravy which was also excellent. Everything was scratch made and they even had GF bread! Wish I lived closer!! read more

One trip, maybe not enough to have the full story, but, this place rocks!little indoor seating, so, rainy days it is mostly take-out, I guess. We were there on a beautiful sunny day in March, and both the egg salad and chicken cheese steak sandwiches were top drawer. They offer house made potato chips, which were just fine. Coffee, well, I got there at lunch and the pots were at the bottom of their previous fill. It still tasted good. I'd be coming back to work through their menu, but I live over 2,000 miles away. Good little spot, gave me diner vibes, food was really good. The chicken sandwich was super dry though, so I'd stay away from that. But buffalo chicken grilled cheese I think it was called? It was SO GOOD. Nice outdoor seating right near the boats. read more

Came out for a Sunday morning breakfast and was surprised by a wonderful live band and great outdoor seating right by the docks. We had the BBK breakfast sandwich on sourdough and everything was delicious down to the bread which most restaurants usually overlook. Highly recommend and would come back again and again! A star for the seating on the water, a star for the friendly service, and 1 out of 2 stars for the food. I deducted 1 star for the food because I got the chicken biscuit with egg, cheese, and bacon which I was excited to try. The biscuit was fresh baked and I love biscuits, so I had high hopes. I bit into it and... nothing. Almost no flavor. I couldn't believe my tastebuds. My eyes could see the biscuit, what looked like freshly made chicken, but there was almost nothing there. The bacon was undercooked for my taste too. I finished it and as I ate it I got some more flavors but it really fell flat. My daughter loved her silver dollar pancakes though. Ok, the other deducted star... This place has a very in-your-face ambiance. There are so many pride and trans flags you could get epilepsy. Fine, cool, it's "Pride Month" I get it. I don't know if it is like this all the time or not. Yes, love IS love. All rights are good rights, science is science, water is wet, got it. Tons of, ironically, vanilla platitudes everywhere. It is a virtue signaling confetti blast in the face. All good. They mean well, "celebrating a lifestyle isn't political," etc. However, the food was served on (I am telling you, it is EVERYWHERE) wax paper that showed an avocado cartoon saying "Pro (duce) choice!" Like I said, you want to go 11/10 over the top on the pride stuff, I get it. You can never have too many woke bonus points. But getting your abortion stance while eating my breakfast left a bad taste in my mouth. And, as mentioned, it was the only taste I got. Bread and Butter Kitchen doesn't need another 5 star review, but I had a hard time believing the reviews before I went, so hopefully this helps. This place is a super cute, homey cafe right on the water in Annapolis. They don't have indoor seating (that I saw) but the outside is first come first served. We ordered inside, snagged a little high top right by the water and the servers came out with our food. Our table felt well spaced and they even had disinfectant wipes for our use. For $25 (incl. tip) we got a yummy vegan sausage breakfast biscuit, cinnamon roll pancakes, coffees, and some very nice live Jazz! Parking was very easy as well. This may not be your decadent / fancy brunch spot, but if I lived close by, I'm sure I'd come at least a few times a month. read more

We had a wonderful time here on a Saturday morning. The food was delicious- I had the BBK sandwich, which I'd totally recommend. My daughter had the kids sized blueberry pancakes, which were full of blueberries and she just inhaled it all. We ate outside by the water and listened to the wonderful jazz singer (please invite her back!) I also am glad they enforce mask wearing inside, especially during this delta variant. There was a difficult customer when we were there and the staff handled it well. But it's just such a bummer they have to deal with it. Kudos to the staff! read more

Established in 2016, Bread and Butter Kitchen began by providing meals-to-go at the local farmers market. Sourcing ingredients directly from farmers and making everything from scratch, we provided our customers with fully prepared, delicious meals they could trust. In May 2017, Bread and Butter Kitchen opened the doors to the cafe. Offering breakfast and lunch, 7 days a week, we continue to work with local farmers to source our ingredients and make meals from scratch. Meet the Business Owner: Monica A.

After losing her job in 2012, Monica Alvarado took a brief sabbatical from the corporate world. It was during this time that she rediscovered her passion for cooking and began a blog that was focused on making delicious food using local ingredients. The blog provided an outlet for her to share her recipes, as well as interview local farmers and vendors in the Annapolis area. Over time, she realized that the time she spent in the kitchen was far more fulfilling than the time she spent in boardrooms. A reformed corporate rock star, Monica left her 22 year career in technology in 2016 to start Bread and Butter Kitchen with the vision of sharing her passion for making amazing food that celebrates local ingredients. Monica works closely with local farmers and vendors to source the best ingredients available. She and her amazing team serve up great food 7 days a week at the cafe. We don't come here for pasta. We come for sandwiches. If you can't serve one at 2:30AM, close earlier. What's the point? Who leaves a bar at 2:AM and thinks about a reheated slab of pasta? I can get that at home. Make me a cheeesesteak!! For my Italian and my Capo special, I asked for hot peppers and got an appropriate healthy portion. It had just enough onions on it for flavor but not so I tasted bites of onion. The fresh high quality cold cut meat flavors came through great. Both sandwiches were superb. I personally liked the Italian better, but if you're a true lover of Italian meats you have to get the Capo Special. The Cheesesteak is also legit. I had it once with Prov and once with American. Even though the provolone has a nice cheese pull, I do prefer American on a cheesesteak. I like my steaks with just cheese, onions and red hots. If you like it that way you have to order the standard steak and say "no peppers, add red-hots." By default they put peppers on it. There are several sandwiches I still want to try, in addition to some pasta dishes they have. However, I think my next sammy will be the Roast Pork or the Meatball sub. * The only downside is the price. A large sandwich on a seeded roll will cost you $18ish, plus tip, which is $21 for a sandwich. That is a lot. However, the small (half?) sandwich is $14.50 so you might as well get the large and take half home even if you are not finishing it. It'd be cool if they had a sandwich of the day on special, so you could get a large for $15 or something. But they do not. That said, maybe you get what you pay for with price because the sandwich is QUALITY and it is CONSISTENT. I have eaten there when the owner is present or late night when it's just younger staff working. Sandwiches have been the same both times. There is good training and appreciation for quality. I hope that stays. If the quality stays I'll keep coming back. They need to add some accessible napkins, water and bottles of hot sauce. A few misses that would make my visit more comfortable. They can also offer "For Here" or "To Go" options. They make everything to go which means they at least waste a bag each time I eat in house. If they're closed or crowded, don't overlook the OGs- The Big Cheese for another great Italian in town or Pip's for a cheesesteak. Not to take anything away from CAPO though! They have both sammies and you won't be disappointed. Just saw that they are now open until 2:30AM on Friday and Saturday! That is awesome. We now have TWO late night food stops in town; Capo and Secret Spot Pizza.

The slammin salmon and the aloha chicken are our absolute go tos and they are always delicious. You can even ask for them on Brioche or as a wrap. All in all we love this place and continue to make it a staple when we are close by and even when we aren't!

I guess black families who love on each other and their children, who travel an hr away from home to visit downtown Annapolis are foreign to her and/or rub her the wrong way. And wouldn't you know as I am leaving I saw a tip bucket on the counter. Go figure. My husband and I discussed our visit and he informed me that while I was off doing another final lap of the store she had asked him if he was hungry and he said no...so maybe that's why she was mad-that we didn't get her food. He said she had a look as if to say then what are you doing here. Terrible. And I know from reading this it seems like she asked basic questions, but it is one of those you had to be there conversations; her tone, lack of eye contact and all made for a very uncomfortable experience. One thing is for certain, I will never patronize this store again and for anyone reading this and the other reviews, believe the ones that say these people are mean and rude because they certainly are.

Absolutely phenomenal place. One of our go to favorites. It's an unassuming location with a fantastic view of a marina and the Annapolis harbor. The food is unbelievable, whether breakfast or lunch. Some of our faves include the BBK breakfast and the BBK burger, the Banh Mi Bowl, the Hippy Hash Skillet, the gyro, and, well, everything. Love the ice cream and the ice cream sandwiches and always stop in for the queso and sausage to take home. On top of all of it, the owner and staff are wonderful. Monica helps everyone who needs it and is an amazing boss and the staff is always happy and helpful. They offer local delivery, which is so awesome, including staff lunches and breakfasts. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I was thrilled to start off my day with a burrito from Bread and Butter. It was jammed packed with eggs, cheese, and chorizo, which added a special little kick. I would eat these every day if I could. As you walk in, you are greeted with homey decor in a clean, open space. You can watch the busy bees in the kitchen cooking your food if you don't get distracted by the gorgeous views of the harbor. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. You can tell they love working there. Monica, the owner, was very welcoming and made you feel as though you were a special guest in her home. Best food in the area hands down. Was only in the area for a few hours and had to try after seeing the welcoming environment! Thank you for those signs out front and the messaging throughout! It's hard to always find somewhere welcoming. Ordered and ate way too much, I think I was busting at the seams, and I'd do it again too LOL. Fresh ingredients served by some kick ass staff. I've been coming to Bread and Butter Kitchen from the beginning and I love everything on the menu. My favorite is the Chicken Cheesesteak but, honestly, everything is fantastically done with that extra bit of love. The service is so welcoming and kind. I'm a big fan of the location right on the water. I regularly slip in and out with takeout orders but I also enjoy sitting outside on the water. This place is fantastic. The staff are extremely friendly and you can tell they genuinely love working at this restaurant. Anytime I pass through Maryland I always make it a point to stop here for breakfast, their breakfast sandwiches is unbelievable. The bread alone is worth coming here for! This is honestly the safest restaurant I've ever been to. I feel so included and welcome, and everyone was so incredibly friendly. The restaurant is clean, free of clutter, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. I got the chicken Panini and honestly thought I died and went to heaven. Fantastic weekend brunch is served here. Service was spot on and able to sit down almost immediately. Hands down, the best Banh Mi quinoa grain bowl I've ever had and my wife loved her Banh MI Burger! Everything is great. Quirky décor amazingly friendly staff and amazing food and drink menu. 5 hateful stars. I can't even believe I went in here and the words on the walls hurt me so much. It was summer, my snowflake body melted as I struggled through the waitstaff being pleasant and accommodating. I love this place drove all the way from New Jersey to try the food Salsa de Huevos is my favorite breakfast dish! I love how they have Black Lives Matter sticker on the front door. We love this place! Food is top notch and fresh. They get their bread delivered fresh from the last Italian bakery on Baltimore for the best subs! Good sausage gravy for breakfast and more.
