I saw this local bookstore and coffee shop while walking in town. It's so cute inside. It's bookstore with many seating areas and the coffee shop in the back. They have an outdoor deck with tables and chairs. There is a second floor down a winding staircase and they had apothecary sections. I got an iced London fog, very delicious. I would definitely come back and it's a place where you can bring friends or cowork (there are outlets).
My husband and I were strolling through downtown Annapolis one morning when we stumbled upon Old Fox Books. From the moment we walked in, the vibes were absolutely immaculate. Someone was playing beautiful music on the piano, which created the most peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The bookstore itself is charming and thoughtfully laid out, with multiple levels to explore and perfect for browsing. There's also a coffee shop inside, which just makes the whole experience even better. Their selection is also varied, with a great mix of new and classic titles, and the location couldn't be more perfect.
It looks cute from the outside, but the inside is far more charming. I took two steps inside and fell in love. And around every single corner, fell more deeply. I joked with the gentleman who checked me out that I was in love and he said that's what happened to him and now he works/lives there. Ha. There is a cute coffee shop in the back with outdoor deck seating and an even cuter ivy covered patio on the first floor down some steps. Coffee smelled wonderful, with a few pastries, and some seasonal monthly drink flavors that looked delicious. Didn't try anything bc we had just eaten lunch. Inside on the first level there is additional tables and seating and some comfy chairs throughout - then, you can go down some old iron spiral stairs to the lower level and find two cute rooms loaded with interesting books, more comfy seating, and a witchy section with several herbs and items. In general - I loved absolutely everything and would be here ALL the time if I lived here. What a cool spot to meet a friend for a coffee, read a book, or work from home. Another reviewer called it epic. I agree, the word fits here if you are at all a literature nerd.
Calling all book and coffee lovers!!!! Wow!!! This spot is super cute. This amazing spot has a plethora of new and used books and other goodies for purchase. I took my daughter and her friend here and they were so excited. We tried out their coffee (I went with a regular small black coffee by Ceremony and it did not disappoint). Seating is limited but looks like there are options to sit outside during warmer temperatures. Will definitely return.
This place was an epic Coffee and drinks in the initial room that's full of foxes. The basement has an alchemy room essentially where you can learn of herbs and their use, along with buy some on site. (Let me try out your new shipments pls) There's the main cafe area and then the downstairs where you deep dive into alchemy and the like. Great place
I'm not in Annapolis often, but when I am, Old Fox Books is always a stop I'll make. It's adorable inside. Super cozy with seemingly endless corners to explore. They have an impressive collection of used books of all sorts of topics. My favorite section is downstairs where they keep the witchy and occult type books. They also have a coffee shop in the back and even an outdoor area. It's one of those places you want to spend hours inside exploring but you'd still never feel like you saw it all. I recommend taking anyone to Old Fox Books, but especially the out of towner. It's certain to be a memorable little adventure.

It was relaxing and beautiful and I got to chat about a book I found with one of the employees who clearly had a passion for beautiful books. They have so much comfy seating, a variety of books, and a great atmosphere!
Old Fox Books has the cozy, warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel at home when you walk in. They've got a huge variety of books, everything from rare old out of print books to local interest to the newest releases, and if they don't have what you want they will order it for you, no problem. You'll also find some locally made cards and crafts, and a whimsical and chill back patio area with tables and chairs where you can enjoy your yummies you bought at the café inside and/or read your new book, write out that artistic and gorgeous card you just bought, to top off your very enjoyable visit.

Walked around the store a bit and loved the selection. There's some seating scattered around the store to read and enjoy your coffee. Overall a great bookstore!

Easily the best bookstore I've ever been to, partly because it's so much more than that! If I had kids, I'd bring them here every weekend. There's a garden in the back, DELICIOUS coffee, a patio, a toy house, a witch section downstairs, comfy recliners, and a harp! For little telescopes, great art, and a really chill location on Maryland Avenue. I'd stop by again if I'm ever in town.
Super cute book store that also offers a good cup of coffee to drink while reading your book! I love the antique witchy vibe of the place. As someone who is always on the lookout for witchy things, I loved spending time in the corner where they had a quaint apothecary, as well as a good amount of witchcraft books. This is such a cute cafe bookstore in Annapolis! This is a great spot to meet and do homework or meet with colleagues to discuss projects of research. The bookstore is small and well decorated. The cafe is charming, I got the Pistachio Cookie Crumble Iced Latte with oat milk, I highly recommend the delicious drink! The bathroom is clean and organized. read more

The Old Fox is a must see stop for anyone visiting Annapolis! It was beautifully decorated and organized. Such a whimsical stop. I got a Lavender Earl Grey tea and strawberry jam bar, both of which were delicious! read more

Great little book store in on historic Maryland Ave in Annapolis. Super busy Sunday with fall festival 2022. Bought 2 used books this round. Actually went down to the basement this round. Great history collection down there. Employees very friendly. Nice sitting areas. Great coffee bar. Great outdoor seating area. Must do in Annapolis (home). read more
I found this coffee shop when I was exploring Annapolis, and was very happy that I did. I was thoroughly impressed. It reminds me of a barns and noble but a unique and cozy one. I love books and coffee, so I was very pleased to find that this location had both. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a variety of books to read while you sip your coffee or tea. They have plenty of seating inside, outside, and downstairs. They have coffee and other trinkets for sale. Highly recommend. read more

This little hole in the wall is the most cozy book store I've been to. My son loves to read and finds comfort in visiting libraries and book stores. They had all genres that would satisfy the mind of anyone for whatever you like! If you are ever in the beautiful, quaint town of Annapolis and want to relax, go find a book, get some coffee (can be bought here too) and cozy up in one of the chairs; the adventure will be worthwhile! read more

I stopped in at Old Fox Books today to have a look around. I will be meeting some book club friends there in a week or so to browse and buy. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon in Annapolis. This is a very cozy independent bookstore--the kind of place where you want to hang out every week for a while. They have a coffee counter, which was very popular today. In addition to the indoor space, you can enjoy a coffee in the rear garden. I look forward to going back soon to browse their whole collection. read more
I love independent bookstores, so when I saw the bookstore when I was walking around the area this past weekend, I had to go in. I'm so glad I did. It's a charming store. It's small but it's well stocked: new books and old books. A few steps into the store, and I saw several books I wanted. I ended up walking out of the store with a special old copy of a Nancy Mitford novel. The bookshop also has a coffee shop in the back - Brown Mustache Coffee - so you can get a great book and a great coffee in the same place. I definitely recommend stopping by both the bookstore and the coffee shop if you're like me and find the smell of books plus coffee to be the best in the world. Support your local independent bookstores - they're treasures! This one is special! read more

Came from DC to visit Old Fox Books and it was worth the hype and so cute! Crowded on a rainy Sunday evening, the space was bustling with book lovers and coffee drinkers. A mix of old and used books gave it a homey vibe, as did the holiday decorations, rugs, and comfy chairs throughout. There's a basement with even more old books and hidden gems. The coffee shop has a diverse selection and some seating, plus really cute branded merch! Staff was very kind and helpful! Definitely worth a visit to see this iconic little find:) read more

Really enjoyed the brief time I spent in this little shop. There's something really wonderful about bookstores in general, and Old Fox is no exception. I recently relocated from Massachusetts, and have been pleased to find several local book shops that AREN'T big box corporations. Unless I can't find what I'm looking for, I'll be shopping these gems for the foreseeable future. I have the tendency to be as invested in ambiance as I am in options, and where I find the selection somewhat limited, I am going as much for the visual stimulation as I am for the books. In this category, Old Fox does not disappoint. As a caveat, I only had about half an hour to browse before closing time. The selection is interesting - depending on genre preference there's a good chance you won't find something you're looking for explicitly. Their history and literature sections seem quite robust, though, and despite not having a ton of options of the types of titles I'd usually go for, I still managed to take home 3 books. I had a prior coffee date planned, and didn't feel like buzzing through my night, so didn't get to check out their coffee options. But the set up is such that I intend to make my way back soon for a coffee, some more browsing, and an hour or two with a book in the seating area. read more

Love love love this place! From the moment you walk in, you are sure to notice the home-like atmosphere. There are cool old school touches like one of those sliding ladders you see in pictures of old libraries. There are Easter eggs to look out for, like a tiny closet under the spiral stairs labeled "Harry's Room." Thoughtful displays including Women's history month, local flavor, and I even remember seeing one at one point on nature's hidden signs and forest bathing. You can tell the staff members have diverse, rich interests. Brown Mustache coffee shop also calls this place home, so you can sip a coffee while you browse! The children's section is just adorable and very well-curated. The staff us super friendly and helpful, too. I've stayed here for hours before and would love to do it again any day! read more

As every book shop should be - unique and welcoming. Fox Books is literally the Shop Around the Corner. Grab a book, snuggle up in a corner, the only sound you'll hear are the footsteps. Even on a Sunday before closing, the walkways are a constant flow of couples and browsers. I followed the finding staircase down to discover Harry and Hedweg, shelves are loosely labeled by category, and random baskets and crates hold surprise books, mysterious wrappings, and intrigue. At checkout, we verified our purchases at the desk, the pricing can be a little tricky, but very reasonable. We were also notified that Horcruxes are all over the building and only one had been found, so that's reason alone to return. I may have spotted the sword... Which House are you? read more

This two-level store boasts a unique, if not large, collection of mostly used books and gift items, as well as an in-house coffee shop. The welcoming storefront leads visitors into an eclectic, packed space that will be a welcomed change for book lovers seeking something different from the chain retailers. read more
