The best latte I have had in my life, rivaled by maybe one other. Perfect fresh local milk with well brewed high quality espresso. A MUST for any latte drinker in the Annapolis vicinity. read more

Old Fox Books - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

This is an amazing book store. Books and nooks and crannies, lots of places to sit and read, lots of books from all eras. Lots of old books. I love their courtyard too! They also have a small coffee bar to enjoy. Friendly staff. Street parking. Don't forget to check out the basement. There are little areas full of gems. read more

This book store is nothing short of amazing! One other patron described it as magical and it truly is. You feel at home as soon as you step foot inside. The shelves are bursting with books categorized into fiction, sea tales, mythology, children's, and many more genres! There are fun little nooks and crannies throughout with lots of Fox decor, as you would imagine. There is an outside garden which has some lovely seating and a little book house which unfortunately is closed to covid but such a great spot, I would imagine, for children to hide away to. There's a coffee shop in the back as well, which I will also review - it's called Brown Mustache Coffee. What was really great was that the staff was so helpful! As a visitor to Annapolis and seeing so many positive reviews and suggestions to come here I made a point to stop by! I love picking up copies of the Wizard of Oz while I'm away and I asked if they had a copy. Between the two ladies working they weren't sure if they had one but checked for me anyway and even checked the new book drop offs for me which, just as the one lady had suspected, there was a copy! They got it priced for me relatively quickly and I asked if they had a stamp for their book store, which after some digging, they found and happily stamped my book for me! I would definitely spend hours here daily if I lived here but alas I don't and I just hope that this place stays put so that others can enjoy magical afternoons! read more

I felt like I was walking into Hogwarts library, the bending bookshelves, the mystery sections, the coffee smells wafting in the air. It was a wonderful place, and there were lots of folks, enjoying it, just as much as me. read more

Adorable book store. Reminds me of the old time book stores where you can actually smell the books. The girl at the small register in the front section of the store was was extremely friendly and helpful. Free WiFi, a long table and chairs along with comfortable seating. A beautiful garden area out back with tables and chairs. Also, a cute little children's area with a table, chairs and toys. The book selection in this area was thoughtful ... books you'd want for your children. I'd highly recommend. There is a coffee shop "The Brown Mustache". This was a great addition to the store. Teas, all types of coffees. A small selection of pastries. Again, exceptional and friendly service. I'd highly recommend both shops. I'm returning on my next trip to Annapolis read more

Lovely little book store with a coffee place inside. New and used books. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Can be a little crowded with the coffee crowd, but the downstairs is quieter. Found an excellent, old book out of print. Bought it as a Christmas present for my husband. read more

My heart felt full here. What a lovely way to spend a morning: peruse the shelves for a new book, pick up a coffee or hot chocolate from the cafe, and then go read your new book amid a quiet garden in the backyard. There are cozy little nooks everywhere you look, and the people all seemed happy here. I wish I lived in Annapolis so coming here could become part of my routine. Worth a stop in even for visitors like me! read more

I've heard about this place for a while but stopped in finally with a friend. It's a nice, comfy, cozy feel, and being downstairs felt adventurous and mysteriousness. There's quite a lot packed into this little place. The selection was decent enough, but the ambiance is what really made this place special. read more

Extraordinarily charming new & used bookshop in the heart of downtown Annapolis. The coffee smelled amazing, but I don't drink coffee.

I cannot day enough good things about Old Fox Books and I've still not been there nearly enough. By far my new favorite bookshop. I love the eclectic selection-wouldn't be great if there's something specific you're looking for, but it's a really fun place to browse and find new/used books you didn't know you couldn't leave the store without. The prices are wonderful-I've gotten a whole stack for what you would probably pay for 2 new books elsewhere. I haven't tried the coffee or pastries yet, but they brew Ceremony coffee, which is one of the absolute best local roasteries in the area. And let me tell you about the buckets of charm Old Fox has. It's gorgeous! It's the perfect bookstore environment, from the warm and welcoming first floor coffee shop to the spooky-cozy basement level-the whole place is like your favorite cozy blanket that you just want to wrap around you (perhaps with a good book and a fresh cup of coffee!). I can't wait to visit again! read more

Old Fox Books - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

Easily one of my favorite places in Annapolis. Since moving to the area, I was struggling to find a place that felt comfortable to just be in. This place is it. It's so welcoming, you can't NOT go in! Owners are amazing, the place itself is perfect. Incredibly cozy with an expansive library of titles of all genres. The cafe is great, and the book clubs the shop offers have been my saving grace. Could not recommend this place enough. read more

A wonderful gem of a true fantastical cozy style inviting book store that caters to all ages. I come every 2nd Tuesday whenever possible for the Citizens and Sovereigns book club run by former educator and lawyer. They have coffee, snacks, many books and an outdoor play area for kids. The great books and garden are a true gem in the area. Ms. Frolic the Fox comes on the first Friday of each month from at 9am to 10am. Shhh this is a big deal and often will have well over a dozen young ones. Definitely something to see if you want a coffee and a quiet spot to relax while visiting this beautiful historical downtown area. read more

The staff was great! The books varied from topic to topic and were everywhere. Many of the books were books that I had read but there were also fun sections that I had not even considered. I left with a dozen books under my arm because I ran into things that were not common to my cell of learning. Go and ask for the "fruit filled healthy" donut and the mocha expresso! Then wonder down the tight stairs and have a great chat with a friend or go and meet some strangers. Both comfortable and uncomfortable seating can be found in the building but their is no place where you will feel alone. There also is a place to sit outside but it was raining the day I visited. Parking is found on the street. Good luck! read more

What a great find! We were looking for an indie coffee shop in Annapolis, and happened upon this gem of a business. The coffee is fantastic, many gluten free snack options, and all combined with books. I could spend all day here! read more

Ahhh love love love. What a charming little bookstore! I'm so glad I stopped in for a visit. Take the time to seek this out if you are in the area because it is really easy to miss if you are just walking around Annapolis. You are just surrounded by books the seconds you walk in and you are free to browse and grab a cup of coffee if you'd like. They have a downstairs area that is basically straight out of a booklover's dream. If I ever own a bookstore (which was/is my dream for my future retirement) I want it to be exactly like this. The selection may not be huge but the ambiance, the vibe of Old Fox Books, makes up for anything lost. read more

This is a surprisingly cute bookstore/cafe. The store itself is tiny but they have books for adults, for kids, as well as some tiny stuff like notebooks or pens that you might wanna check at the bookstore. Just to see the interior inside was totally worth the visit. We tried hot chocolate and chai, which were so yummy too :) Another pro is that the staff were friendly and we felt welcomed. read more

Very kind and friendly staff. I needed help while waiting for my next event and staff initiated a way to make my wait more comfortable. Love the garden and patio area. Um, hello this bookstore is amazing. The toilet had a ministry of magic sign! There was also a "signed" photo from Gilderoy Lockhart in the bathroom - definitely make a point to visit. Such a great collection of books and a warm and welcoming environment. There's a table in the middle where everyone can sit down and read. There's a great patio for reading or working, as well. They had book "blind dates" for $7 where there is a description of the book, but it's wrapped in newspaper. Such a great gem in Annapolis! read more

A great bookstore and cafe. They sell used books and the collection isn't huge but there's enough variety and you can't beat the ambiance. Leather chairs, a fireplace, an outdoor patio, and an attached cafe. The woman I'm guessing is the shop owner seems knowledgeable about books and friendly to customers. They sell surprise books for $7, which I love. I've only been once but there was a shop dog, a Bernese mountain dog, there. Great place to spend some time! read more

A stellar collection of passionate and nerdy human beings and books. As a bookstore owner, it's rare to discover unfamiliar gems but the curation here is truly brilliant and inspired. It's a wonderful deep dive into subjects that I'm familiar with but handled with a slight twist. I really appreciated the minimalism here. They aren't trying to be completists on any topic, rather you can always find something that impresses, entertains, and informs--even if it's not what you were looking for. read more

This space used to be called "The Annapolis Bookstore", and it just didn't get any better. It was a book lover's dream, complete with a fairy garden out back. Last summer, one of the owners took her stock and the store's name down the street. The other owner busted her behind to open Old Fox, and the space you know and love is back. The stock is noticeably smaller, but the rest is vastly improved. The Brown Mustache coffee shop is much more inviting in the back of the ground floor. Make sure to stop by when you are in Annapolis. This place is just a gem, the kind of store where you can lose yourself for an entire afternoon. read more

I love bookstores and Old Fox Books embodies everything I love about them. It has an amazing atmosphere that is inviting and homey. It is a great place to meet people and share ideas or a delicious drink from their cafe Brown Mustache, or to immerse yourself in a private world of imagination. The owner is kind and intelligent and after prompting for suggestions she has led me to some really incredible reads. The books are all very affordable. I am grateful that businesses like Old Fox Books still exist, it is just so much more fun and meaningful to go there than chain bookstores. read more
