A little pricey but I don't mind it as they are very reliable and all of their products are good.

Prices were different when I got to the counter than what they were marked on the floor. Guy apologized and gave me a discount that I can use next purchase. I went back to buy more boxes, and when I went to use my discount they said there isn't one, a total lie. The two people behind the counter seemed clueless and rude. I do have an update on Box City in Pasadena. I do not know what happened but it was for the better for sure. The place is now cleaned up and very organized. Now even though one person is still there that was very rude, but now they seem to be more professional and respectful. i went to the Pasadena location wanting to ship a letter-size package priority overnight to Arizona. they very firmly quoted me $243 to do so. it took me a minute to get my jaw off the floor. other options that they gave were equally horrid. i went down the street to another fedex ship site, per their suggestion, and got the task done for $58. Great reliable local store for my small online business. I run a small online store RC's Kawaii Stop making plush doll bouquets and the bouquet wraps are basically delicate floral wraps. If I didn't have the proper box size, my bouquets can shift around and wrinkle and if they're too tight the bouquet can also get all bent and wrinkled. As a small business I can't afford to buy tons and tons of boxes online just yet and I don't want to order the wrong sizes from Amazon, so I'm very thankful to have found Box City. I come with a few measurements each time and the number of boxes I need. WOW! I just visited Box City. I go regularly for all my boxing, shipping, packing, and moving needs. They just did an amazing reset of the space and it is fantastic. Also a much needed redo of the staff. New sharp, helpful, super customer oriented team members helped me with everything I needed. They wore uniform polo shirts and were extremely knowledgeable. Before you would get a grunt greeting, maybe. Big shout out to Sako and Jordie. They were both amazing, and they double teamed me on answering questions. Funny thing, the reset now better showcases everything they offer. Stuff I thought was new was reg merchandise that I couldn't see because of the clutter. Now you get a clean, bright, fresh looking environment. It makes me want to come back. BTW, they have great gift boxes in all sizes, from tiny jewelry to big stuffed animal sizes and tissue. went in to build a box to ship an assemblage sculpture. Talked with the boss and two workers about my needs, what I was boxing for shipping, shared a photo explaining what it was. Boss says they can do the job, will wrap and build container for shipping and will ship it for me too. Asked me to come back with the art. Which I do. When I get back to the shop with the sculpture, it was as if I had never been there. The guy working the counter couldn't figure out what we needed. He measured the art piece, grabbed a box and then proceeded to tell me that shipping was going to be expensive. I acknowledged this. I tell him that I am a professional and understand the expense of shipping art. He then asked if the art was fragile. It is. And then he refused to pack and ship my art insisting it was going to break. No discussion about how solid the piece was built. Nothing. A big waste of our time. (An hour to run back to the studio, get the piece and come back.) I could understand it if I was a jerk. I wasn't. I was treated like one, because a kid working the floor was overwhelmed with my project. And that's a shame. Guess I will use an art shipping company instead. They won't break the art. read more

Who knew such an extensive box store existed!! I needed a box for a pair of boots. I was afraid I'd have to buy an overly large box because of the bulky/awkward size, but Box City came to the rescue! I have used the pasadena store for many years but this is probably the last time. The price shown online for the box I needed was $4.92. At the store on the shelf it was $6.52 and then I was charged $8.24. That's a big difference. On top of that I was charged for a box that I didn't buy. I didn't notice this until I got home. I'm not going to waste the gas to drive back. I just won't be a customer in the future. read more

Rude employee. When I entered from the back, one of the young male employees was blocking the walkway since he was trying to tape up some boxes. I was in no rush so I wanted to let him finish and not interrupt him. I'm confident he saw me too but another employee told him that there was someone (me) waiting and that he should move.
