This is my go-to UPS store in the pasadena area. They are usually very busy, but the team here is super nice and very helpful. I've mailed hundreds of packages through this UPS Store and never had one get lost. They have self-scan stations available if you don't want to wait in line and have labels on your packages already. This saves me lots of time. The only issue at this location is the parking can be as busy as a costco, and the lot is somewhat small especially with a Trader Joes now sharing their lot. We generally go to this store because it's close. Lately we have had to notarize quite a few documents for retirement reasons (pension packages). We booked an appointment online through UPS for the notary. The appointment was for 2 pm. We arrived at 2 pm to be informed that we would have to come back around 3 pm because the notary was at lunch and they are short staffed at the moment. I said, "But we made an appointment for 2 pm." "The notary is at lunch, come back." Not an apology for wasting our time and scheduling. In fact, why have a scheduling system at if you aren't going to use it or adhere to it? Would have been nice to know something before we got in the car and drove all the way to this location. If you can use automation to send out reminders, you can use that same automation to contact your customers of changes in scheduling. Otherwise, what's the point? read more

What a difference this place is to the fed ex up the street. Although these folks are even busier, they take the time to help out an old lady in distress. Lovely souls here. There was a nice customer with her Shepard dog with her, who was trying to calm her pup. Apparently the dog was nervous and thought he was at the vet. The female worker who helped me took out some snacks for the customer's doggy and the sweet animal quickly calmed down. Super multitaskers, these workers. I used to like this store bc if there's a line it goes quick and they're no nonsense. The issue now is finding parking. Since Trader Joe's moved in and they share a lot there's never any parking and it's really frustrating when you just need to park for 2 min to drop something off. After 5 years of going to this UPS and seeing how bad the customer services is, I wanted to write something so hopefully leadership or management can train their employees to be respectful to their customers. Today I walked in and was helped right away. The person helping me looked like he didn't want to help or hated his job. When scanning my QR code he looked mad and then took out what was in my package and kind of threw it on the counter. I asked him "how he was doing today?" And he looked at me and didn't say anything and acted like I wasn't even there. On several occasions when dropping off my package, I've seen the same employee talking about customers saying how customers take advantage of Amazon returns (as I returned an Amazon return) and as another customer did the same. This happens twice and in two different months. It's unfortunate, seems like the workers hate their life or job or something. I hope management or corporate can do something to train these employees to be more respectful to their customers or hire employees that enjoy customer service. It's unfortunate the store is ran this way and for so many years. :( And recently seeing a 5 star review below and then saying "they're flabbergasted about the bad reviews" is probably a friend writing this. Updating to 2 stars: Picked up my package from UPS today and I was able to notice my package was tampered with. I brought it back to the employees letting them know that my package was tampered with clearly by how it was already precut and had a white sticker on top. The employee asked me if I opened it, but I literally picked it up 2 minutes ago. Which kinda frustrated me cuz he basically accused me of opening the package myself and lying about it being tampered. Anyway, he opens it in front of me and as expected item was taken out. I then request documentation like video footage or written letter from the store that the package was tampered with. They tell me they can't provide it and say I have to call corporate. Also they said they couldn't give me a reference number at all. Pretty sucky service if you ask me. I'd rate them 1 of 5 stars but I'm being nice so here's 2 stars. read more

The WORST service ever ! Allen was incredibly rude. Made my life so difficult for no reason. We had an attorney on the phone and he was yelling, over talking her and being incompetent. I didn't think I needed to get the names of those involved, but I wish I had. The parking lot has been chaotic since Trader Joe's opened and especially that Friday 12/6. When I arrived, there was a cone blocking the only available spot in front of the store, with no fixed or temporrary sign indicating it was reserved for a UPS truck. Outside on Oxley, four UPS trucks were idling on the street. As I ran in to the store with my package, an employee rushed past me to look into where the cone went (I'm assuming). I handed my package to employ #2 who placed my package in a bin by the door. Since I moved the cone, I wanted to make a quick in-and-out trip, so I didn't ask for a receipt. Employee #1 was pacing behind my car. It took about 30 seconds to hand off my package and return to my car. I told the first employee that I moved the cone and intended to put it back. He responded rudely, even though I wasn't blocking any trucks from loading, as they were all idling on the street. We exchanged some choice words, and I left. That was Friday night. On Monday morning, I checked the status of my package, and it hadn't been delivered. I believe employee #1 either pulled it out of the bin and threw it away, or the second employee placed it in the wrong bin. Now, UPS can't track it. I paid premium prices for shipping and tracking, but they can't tell me where the package is. I've to that store before without issues, but this time, the guy who was a total A-hole and was the main problem. Horrible experience considering tere are multiple businesses doing the same thing within a two mile radius. I hope this lost package doesn't result in a fine due to the delay. I'm willing to identify the guy and tell the owner or manager the whole story if you are interested in it. read more

I came in on 11/1 around 5:30/6p to ship a Nutcracker that I needed them to pack & ship. All of the employees seemed really reluctant to help me when they saw I had something that I needed packed. The first employee was disrespectful and shouted to his colleague, "this guy wants to ship his doll!" I continued to ask questions about what size box they would use, etc. I tried to get them to help me and then the employee finally said, "we can do it but I won't be able to get to this for a few days as I'm out of boxes." I found this really hard to believe and told them I would go to another location. I drove out of the way to the location on 466 Foothill in La Canada where I told them what happened and they helped me out immediately and were surprised by the service I received. I guess I'll have to continue to go out of my way rather than using my neighborhood UPS store. read more

He talks to you from the back of the store "Can i help you!?" and immediately gets to working on your tasks. When I was done with my photocopies, printout (had to email a file to them which was in my cloud), and purchased a few security envelopes (they sell per piece) as well as a birthday card, he gives the total to the cashier. i paid promptly and as I was going out the door, he tells me "see you next time". I lived in South Pasadena for over a decade and I just found out we had an UPS store, haha. I always drove further to KinKo's because thats all I thought we had. I had to return something from Amazon and I didnt see Kohl's as one of the options but saw UPS was able to take it. I located the store only to find out it was in the same plaza as Vons and Jamba Juice! My return was super fast. Waited outside until one of the customers left and told them I had a return for Amazon. The whole process was a breeze! Took like 10 seconds or less to get my receipt. I've had my mail box here for a number of years now and am so incredibly happy with the service. Alan, Tom, and the rest of the crew are so incredibly nice, courteous, and helpful! They always greet me with a smile when I come in and help me carry heavy packages to my car. They have never lost a package, and I have peace of mind knowing that my mail is safe. They are very well organized, even during the holidays when things get chaotic. In addition to shipping, they also have a notary on site, and sell greeting cards, boxes, envelops, and have a copier on site too. Went to have notary services and the guy really didn't want to do it. Made two excuses not to. His coworker set him straight on the first excuse regarding my ID. The second excuse was incorrect regarding my trust. He said he couldn't do it and did an addendum instead which my attorney then said wouldn't work. She suggested I find a better notary as all was in order. I went up the street to a little hole in the wall called ProPrint. Guy was great. Got it done with no problems. read more

I stopped to drop off a package and I saw that they had printers. I asked if I could print. They said I had to email it to them. I asked for the price and they said there was a three dollar charge. I asked if there was a price per page. The man helping me said if there was "a lot." Then their computer that I emailed the document to was slow. That took a while. I emailed two Excel documents. When they printed it the first time it came out in portrait instead of landscape. I had to show the man how to change the settings to landscape in the printer. Still didn't print properly. I then explained that they needed to download the document instead of printing it directly from my email. I had to show them how to open in Google Drive. Then I had to reformat it. I printed it. It turned out to be 24 pages of printing, not to mention wasted pages that were not formatted properly. They charged me more than three dollars. I told the cashier that I was quoted three dollars and then more if it was a lot. They said 24 pages was a lot and I didn't properly format the document. The document was formatted properly , but they were trying to print directly from email without downloading it into a program. I had to fix all the formatting so the document would print. I had to show their employee how to adjust their own printer settings. Poor customer service. They don't know what they're doing. They have no sense of urgency. It takes forever. And they miss "quote their prices. read more

Went in earlier today to ship a return. Another customer had mistakenly took my car keys leaving me stranded. Luckily the staff was attendant enough to aid in the recovery of my keys. Low rating pertains to the unsettling lack of communication despite the diligence that was presented. I started off by taking fault for my inattentiveness and asked for help checking the cameras. 10 minutes in I had to verify a few times whether the cameras were being checked. The staff had weird demeanors despite clearing my intentions - which were to get my keys back only and leave. (I've gone through identify theft a couple of weeks ago and a theft attempt at my car). Albeit I had explained that to the staff to no avail - I was confronted by the silent treatment. Honest to god I'm absolutely thankful to the gentlemen that helped recover the keys - I just think there were numerous other ways the situation could've been dealt with and I'm not taking the risk next time read more

I am so thankful for Eric/ Erin (sorry!) in this location. The company I worked with required me to return equipment through their "Bill My Account" Service so all shipping bill is directly through them and to make sure the correct address and places. Anyway, I was calling on Tuesday to make sure they have the service and the one who picked it up said yes. Mind you, I had been going back and forth with some other UPS saying they didn't have the service, so I had been very frustrated. Coming Wednesday, the other employee said they did not have the service. I was like "?????????" I literally called yesterday and they said they have it. I am sure anyone understands the feeling that you need to do something soon and you only had limited time. That was me, I was literally working during the day, and from Friday until the next week, I have a meeting out of town so I just want to get it this as soon as possible, especially since there is the due date on this equipment process. The guy I talked to previously insisted they do not have the service. Eric/ Erin came in and said, "let me try". The guy previously talked to him, "What do you mean?" I wanted to say Excuse you he just tried? I do not mind if it does not work it just means maybe I need to pay a fine for the next two weeks, but at least be willing to try? So, being said that, I am grateful to Eric/ Erin to be willing to try and did actually help me. I appreciate it! Went to this UPS store to return an item and the manager/owner was extremely rude. I was first in line and he skips me. When I tell him, "excuse me I'm next," he get an attitude and tries everything in his power not to help me. First, he says my box was too damaged so I buy one of his. Then he says he won't pack it, so I do it myself. I understand certain requirements are needed when receiving Amazon returns (nothing new here) but his horrible attitude was totally unacceptable and unnecessary. Even his employee was apologetic and came out to speak with me. (The owner wouldn't let me pack the package inside.) I didn't go somewhere else because we all know how Amazon returns go; should be in & out in less than 2 minutes. (NOTE: read my other reviews, I'm fair and have sung many other companies praises). For some odd reason I thought UPS was a place that will help you pack and ship items. I had to return an item I purchased from Amazon. Amazon usually sends me to Kohl's (which is amazing) every now and then Amazon will have me return something through UPS. I walked into UPS and there were two employees. The employee that helped me was an older man with black framed glasses and it was obvious he didn't want to be there. I let him know I needed to return an item from Amazon, he told me the label had to be printed and the item has to be packaged. I told him the last time I had to return an Amazon item through UPS they packed it for me, printed the label and changed for the service. He seemed so annoyed by me and told me they don't do that and it must have been a different UPS. I informed him this is the only UPS I ever go to since I work down the street and YES, they have printed and package an item I needed to return. We stood in awkward silence for a minute or two until I asked if he had a box. He put a post-it down in front of me that had the UPS email address on it and said "email the label to print here." He printed the label, put my item in a bag and charged me $6. It's frustrating because it's UPS, I know packing and shipping is a service they provide.
