I had a similar experience to Sharon in an earlier review. These guys are scam artists. I also had everything pack and ready to go which you could tell was a disappointment to them. They wanted to do most of it so they could really drag it out. They'll also give you a morning appointment time and tell you they have to finish quickly so they can make their afternoon move. This leads you to believe that they'll be fast. There isn't an afternoon move, its part of their scam. The packing tape is part of the scam as well. Not only do they charge you for an egregious amount of the stuff, but they wrap everything with so much tape it takes forever to unwrap everything and get their blankets back to them. I was moving a mile up the road and they wrapped small tables with so much tape. They would wrap a blanket around it and then wrap each table leg with multiple rounds of tape. They wrap it tightly as well, so it's a full time job to get it off. They could have gone around all four legs with a wrap and a half and it would have sufficed. I also got the 15% story for a tip but like Sharon gave them a lot less. I can't remember what I was quoted and what the final bill ended up being, but it was way off. The truth is they still ended up being somewhat less than the fixed price moving company that you see advertised. They should have just been up front and honest in the first place and not run the tape scam. Thousands of dollars worth of my property and items were lost by this moving/storage company and no one from claims ever bothered to call, and their company refuses to respond or reply to my messages, emails, phone calls. So my stuff is long gone by now, and they won't do anything about it. I have proof of photos, my checklist inventory list, and my emails listing out missing items that began immediately when I started to notice things were missing. When my favorite movers (Delancy Street) weren't available I went with Laprom. I arranged to have 2 movers. When they showed up there were 3 and they told me that the jumbled email I had replied to confirmed 3 and I had to pay it. Ok. The movers were pleasant but surprisingly slow. I was dismayed when it took over 4 hours to empty my 650 sq foot apartment. The move ended up taking the whole day and with a materials charge of $250 was just short of $1000! Delancy street moved the same stuff the same distance for under $700. Next time I'll just wait until my favorite movers are available. read more

The driver crashed into the stanchion of my new house and broke it, the camera, the intercom, etc. They also turned an expensive wood table upside down, dragged it on the floor, and damaged it. Despite months of demands to fix it, they will not return calls, event to their own insurance company. I am unsure if they even have a license to do this work. We now need initiate legal proceedings, which is a total pain in the butt. Really disappointing because we had hired them in the past, tipped the drivers well, etc. read more

A real rip off company. They quoted me a price on the phone based on facetime and descriptions of the move. As soon as they got to our home they shook their head and said it was a very big job (it wasn't) and didn't think they could do it in one day. They came late in the first place and couldn't complete the move. They were supposed to pack but I ended up packing myself as I could see the move would never be completed had they done the packing. We had to stay at a friends that night and they called that night to say they wanted payment in advance or they would not return with the truck the next day. We paid as they had us over a barrel. They broke things, scratched a very expensive table. It would be hard to find a worse mover. They go by different names so beware. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! RIP OFFS! EXTREMELY SLOW, EXCESSIVE CHARGES! RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! These guys took roughly 8 hrs to load and unload a 1 BRM. Everything was boxed, bed was broken down, no kitchen furniture and no night stands or dressers. They lied about the amount of time it took to drive to the storage and the amount of time it took to unload the truck. They charged my credit card for charges we didn't agree to and an amount totally different than what was on the credit card receipt I signed and authorized. And refused to return any funds. When we called in for assistance we we're treated and talked to rudely by everyone in the sales department. When we asked for a manager or owners contact information, they refused to give us any information. I've moved more items in (2) previous moves, that had just as much drive time and distance to and from the truck. I paid half the cost. THESE GUYS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, SLOW AND DISRESPECTFUL. The worst movers!!! liars. quoted me "at the most $700" to move 3 rooms of my house into an apartment. Move cost me $1600.00. Which the movers told me after they moved me. I also had to ask them to set my 65" tv back up on the stand which was included in the move. 2 russian guys showed up on moving day who were rude. Moving is a horrible experience. I spent a few hours comparing companies and chose 24 Moving because they seemed to be the most honest. I went with their "Golden Package" so I wouldn't get overcharged for boxes/tape/crates etc (all the hidden costs of other companies). However, the salesperson said it would take 4-5 hours. It took 20. And because I had to be at work I couldn't control how the hours racked up and get a feel as to what was going on. I had my Aunt there and she said they were moving but were wrapping every piece of everything on my shelves slowly and carefully. The movers themselves complained that they were tired and wanted to go home on both days. They took forever. They went slow. They acted like they were doing me a favor. The salesperson conveniently never picked up any of my calls on the second day. They lied and said they would assemble everything back as it was- that's why I paid for the golden package. I still have 25 boxes and my tvs are in boxes and all the wires are in boxes- they did not assemble everything back. DO NOT USE THEM. Reccomendation- get it written in your contract how many hours they estimate the the job. Make them come and look at everything BEFORE the moving job. Because the salesperson and the movers will not agree with each other. It's a wicked system. The move cost me $2700 instead of the estimate of $900- $1300. Beware of hourly rates- they mean nothing without a limit of max hours written in to your contract. read more

Since my move in October, Laprom has rectified some of the issues I had in regards to the fridge. They sent their guys over to fix the damage, but in the end, I had to call GE. GE charged me about $250 to fix the damages and Laprom sent me the $250. My fridge is fixed and Laprom paid for it. I think it was a fair trade and they've been pretty polite throughout the process. read more

Long Distance Moves Beware! Use with caution. They offer and promise you delivery dates and unless you are patient and willing to wait 3-4 additional weeks beyond your expected date of delivery, I personally would not use them again. We had 3 people promise us dates of delivery that we planned time off from work around and when they had all of our stuff we were at their mercy. Read carefully the section of the agreement about earliest date of delivery because you'll be shocked at how the fine print completely changes the intent of the sentence that you fill out. The only good thing I can say about the movers was that the actual people handling our furniture were good at what they do. We only had minor losses on our long distance move. SCAM!!! DId I ever get taken when I used these people to move me! I was quoted $400 BUT final tab was $1300! I was so screwed by these guys! DONT USE THEM!!!!! My previous move, two years ago cost $640 at another mover AND the same stuff so when I was looking to move again I figured $650-750 EVEN when I was quoted $400 I figured it was low. What a bad expeirence. Three guys so up (ontime). Everything was packed and ready to go but they took forever!!! By last move took 6 hours with the SAME stuff but they took 11.5 hours! Not to memntion at the end I was charged $104 for tape! There was NO mention I would be charged for this BEFORE. I could have ran to kmart and had my own. They said it took 48 rolls!!! To cover my furniture. Yep I was screwed but it was late and I was tired. Also tIred of watching the lazy asses taking breaks, talking on the cell phone constantly. BUT I SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST! They had the NERVE to ask for a 15% tip EACH!!! Yes EACH. there were 3 guys and I was expected to tip them $168 EACH or and ADDITIONAL $504 dollars for a freaking tip!!!!! I should have kicked them to the road but being a sucker I gave them $50 each $150 total and they acted SO disappionted! Seriously at that point my bill was $1163 dollars when the quote was $400 and I still was figuring $700. NEVER NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE! I used Pink Moving in November and it was one of the WORST experiences of my life. They took 16 hours to move a one bedroom apartment 5 minutes away and yes they charged by the hour.....hmmmm. We are easy going peopleand not overly fussy by any means. What a nightmare! It was an absolutely horrible experience with Pink Moving. We were suppose to have four movers and three showed up. They did not speak English and we're all Russian. We wanted to show our support for the gay community in West Hollywood. These men were farmed out from another moving company. They came in a truck with another moving company's name, not PINK Moving. They did not bring the proper tools to disassemble basic furniture and ended break a few of our pieces. They could not read english and left our place in a shambles. We paid them to get them out of our building even before they had moved everything out. We ended up doing the rest ourselves. These guys had some incredible movers that I have ever seen in my life. I have never seen a mover work so fast and run between trips to the truck. It was hard to believe. The whole team was organized, efficient, fairly priced, and professional and I can tell they take pride in the job that they do. Do not, I repeat do not use this company! Like the other reviews, my husband and I's experience with Laprom Moving was horrible! My husband scheduled a week in advance for the movers to come and help us move out of our small 1 bedroom apartment into our new 2 bedroom town home. The movers were scheduled to come between the hours of 9:00am & 10:00am. My husband had a missed call at about 9:45am. He called back and spoke to Jeremy. Jeremy claimed to not have our information in front of him. My husband had to give all of the details of move all over again (i.e. from address, to address). Jeremy then went on to advise us that the movers won't be to our apartment until between 2:00pm-4:00pm. He advised that they were in a neighboring city like we cared. They weren't helping us move. What was the point of making an appointment? Obviously someone dropped the ball and either lost our information or double booked the movers. I don't know which is worst. I expressed my dissatisfaction and how this was going to seriously inconvenience my husband and I. Jeremy seemed to careless. In the end we ended up cancelling and Jeremy had the nerve to say that we had to pay a $100 cancellation fee as per their contract. Something we never signed. Then they sent us a release for destroying our TV... which never happened. I can give you a extensive list of reasons to NEVER use this company, including showing up late, charging me extra time, also taking their sweet time packing. If all you have is ikea and some boxes from college, these guys are for you. If you have real furniture that you want handled by professionals RUN to another company. They have ZERO moving blankets (even though I was assured they would have them in multiple emails). They also charge $25 for wrapping cardboard around items (basically what professional movers do with blankets, and that's $25 per item). I have a $1,500 headboard with a giant gash in it thanks to a 3 mile move across Los Angeles, and gouged hardwood floors in our new place. They rounded up on hours worked (my wife is livid about this one). Their slogan says specializing in art and antiques; years ago I worked in a museum and I would DEFINITELY NOT let this place handle any real art. This outfit is 3 guys with a truck. These guys SUCK!!! Avoid them at all costs. I booked a move through Pink Moving company based in CA and FL. Apparently they are affiliated with Laprom Moving. Chuck responded by email very quickly with an "estimate" which I immediately responded to asking to proceed with the reservation and to let me know what time they would be coming. Never got a response. I emailed 3 more times. I ended up getting one response saying "We have no reservation for you. Would you like to book one?" I responded saying "YES!!! Please call or email to confirm the time." Again, no response. I ended up calling Pink Moving directly which was answered by a guy named Leon. Leon laughed and said it wasn't the first time that "those California guys screwed up a reservation." He then said he would take care of me. Leon said his crew would come at 9 am to move me. He called the night before at 11 pm saying that it would have to be moved to 2 pm. I said ok, but explained it cannot be later than that. On the day of the move, they didn't show up. It was 2:30 pm when I called Leon ... he answered his phone saying "I'm so glad you called! ... We're stuck in Miami blah blah blah, got in an accident, filing a police report ... blah blah blah." He said he would call me back to confirm he can still make it. Well I never got a call back and ended up at 3:30 pm going to Budget Truck Rental, renting a truck and moving myself!!! But, when I finished loading and drove over to my new condo building at 6:00 pm, the building wouldn't let me move in because move-ins aren't allowed after 5 pm. I had to sleep in the parking lot in my truck. And take another day off work to move the next day. I called Leon and told him that he and his company totally f*cked me over. He said "Oh, I wish you had called me back ..." WTF?!?!?!? NEVER NEVER NEVER work with Laprom Moving or Pink Moving. They are total scams. read more

This company has been a nightmare. I chose them because of their cheap rates, but it was definitely a mistake. We moved two months ago and are still dealing with the repercussions of hiring Laprom. First, I will say that the moving men were nice and efficient. "Corporate" on the other hand, is a completely different story. The truck shows up and it's too small to fit the entire contents of a large 1BR apartment. So they couldn't even complete the move that day and we had to do a whole separate move a week later. Who sends a glorified van to a move?! During our move, a family heirloom wood dining room table was scratched (relatively minor). The moving men took pictures of it so we could make an insurance claim or have it repaired. When we called to have it repaired, the company had no record of (1) the scratch, or (2) the fact that they sent a truck that was too small in the first place. Communication throughout the business is completely nonexistent. Finally we have someone come pick the table up to get it repaired. The Company outsources its repairs to someone who obviously has no idea what they're doing. The repairs are free, but sending our table with them was our second mistake. It was gone for over two weeks and we kept calling asking for our table to be returned. The customer service was so horrible. We were yelled at and belittled on the phone by the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. Some customer service. Turns out, the reason they appeared to be stalling in returning our table was because the repair service made the scratch 1000X worse. There is now a huge black smudge on one side of the table and the only way to fix it now will be to pay a professional a lot of money to sand the whole thing down and refinish it completely. Not to mention the other scratches that appeared all over the surface of the table in the two weeks they had it. Filing the insurance claim has been another nightmare. Every time I call customer service I get someone who sounds like they should be working at the DMV. I'm not just talking unhappy - these people are actually mean and nasty in the backhanded comments they make. BTW the free insurance they offer is $0.60/lb, so if our table is 50 lbs we're only going to get $30 from this failure of a company to right what they wronged. The table is valued at $4,500. Classic. From start to finish, working with this company has been miserable. I first tried to set up a move from onboard a US Navy ship and getting an email from the company (as I couldn't get phone calls) was very difficult. Once the move was scheduled and the pickup of the items made, the service personnel were just miserable. The customer service people would often hang up on me when I called. It took a week of constant calling to get any information on where my stuff was or when it would be moved. I got promised a call back at least a dozen times, and yet I never got one, I had to call back every time. I was overcharged (beware, the estimate you make online is apparently binding, even if your weight is under what you estimated). When the delivery truck did pull up (2 days after I had wanted it there), I was surprised with a '$75 charge per flight of stairs' which forced me to move all of the items up the stairs myself. And now, a whole box is missing, a box that contained a Wii and other electronics. I'm hoping the box is just on the truck and forgotten, but still, this in unacceptable. I'm sorry I found this company, and especially if you are planning a cross country move, I would not use this company. It seems like they have great reviews, and maybe we just got the short end of the stick. But maybe you will too. read more

We hired Laprom movers for our move 1 year ago and it was a bad experience. They were late, and when we looked outside to see if they were coming, they had been pulled over by the police, because their truck had no insignia and was suspicious. Also, their driver had no valid drivers license and he was fined on the spot. I begged the police to let me continue the move that day (because i had no one else!) It was extremely sketchy. I asked one of the guys how long he had been doing this, and he said that it was his first day on the job! Talk about feeling insecure about the company I had chosen. Hello, 1 years ago I did a moving with this company and they are a complete disaster. It took place in Miami Beach. The furniture went to a storage for the last year and I had it recently sent to a new place because one day I went to the warehouse and everything was treated really bad. I told them that they are not caring about it so have them sent to the new place. After receiving it and opening the boxes lot of things were scratched and broken. The insurance that covers the furniture is a joke. Something like 0.6 cents per pound!!! The dinning table cost 1000 dollars to me and they broken it, I will only recieve like 30 $.... Run! First, I was given an estimate of $255 for three hours -- they were finished under three hours and I was presented with a bill of over $850!!! The difference was explained as "tape." I am standing there with no option but to pay it -- what a rip-off. Then, they take my stuff to THEIR storage, and I have it moved to my new place a month later. (I am assured that they will not charge me more than the estimate, and they don't) BUT the largest box, the box that had the things I wrapped in bath towels because they were expensive - and the box I stupidly marked with its contents (mirrors, expensive paintings, etc) was missing. I contacted them, filled out forms, sent them a letter with pictures of items - several times they did not accept certified mail and it was returned. I asked if I could come down to their storage area and look for it, and they said no. I couldn't understand how they lost a box that they moved to their storage area and were supposed to move back to me. Did it fall of the truck? It was ludicrous - it was clear that they (or their employees) saw a box full of expensive stuff, and stole it. They ended up offering me 150 bucks if I signed a waiver not to write a review like this. The value of the contents of the box was over 5000 dollars. I got hooked up with this outfit in Pacoima by going to the 24 moving web site -- I lived in North Hollywood at the time, so I can't say how they decide which location to send you to. The WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had. I would give it a ZERO if I knew how to do so. This company goes by the names Pink Moving or Laprom moving. Aside from the fact that they undersestimated both the time and materials required for the moving (requiring me to make 6 trips on my own - after paying them-to moving my belongs). Further they left 2 pieces unassembled requiring them to return and inconveniencing me further. Finally, and worst of all they used a truck that they knew was leaking oil, soiled the entire driveway, and when I complained they sent 2 movers who had no clue how to fix the issue and ended up discoloring the driveway. Further calls finally prompted the company to send a professional to clean the driveway, but they had waited so long and the damage was so severe that the driveway is now both discolored and pitted from the amount of scrubbing required. The driveway has to be resurfaced and the company made a ridiculously insulting offer without even examining the driveway. I now have to take them to court just to recover the costs from this disaster, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE. YOU WILL HEARTILY REGRET DOING SO. read more

This company should have 0 stars in my opinion. The San Diego location (Laprom's principal address is in the Los Angeles area) conducted our move in July, 2013. After refusing to honor its quote, damaging a number of our articles, charging fees not permitted by law, and breaking a window, this company steadfastly refused to engage in any meaningful claims procedures. They haven't even paid for the window. We finally sued in small claims court for fraud and bad faith. The court entered judgment against Laprom. read more

I used Pinks about a year ago. I like to stop in every now and then and let everyone know that they stink as I am still discovering some of the damage they did to my stuff. The lastest is that they lost the paperwork attached to the back of one of my prints. I was dumb to trust them with a valuable print, but they said they had experience with artwork. Now it is going to cost me $250 to get the artwork apprasied again. Consider yourself warned. read more

OMG!!! The worst move EVER! In the past I have hired day workers for 15-17/hr and rented a truck and we were done within 4-5 hours. I decide to hire 'professionals' to come and pack me this time and someone recommended Pink. I chose the Gold package w/ 2 guys since that was what was recommended by the sales person since I needed help packing and unlimited supplies. $1700 plus later, while estimated was $480.00, they are trying to charge even more. They came late in the day on Sunday and could not finish and had to come back the next day and took even longer even though most was done . This is a ripoff. They offer the service of someone coming out to assess, but don't do so in fear of people not using them after getting a real quote. That's what Jason, the GM told me. When someone says they want storage and all packed up, usually a professional company would send someone out in order to give an accurate quote thus mitigating any surprises, but the sales person never even offered this service. Then they misquoted how much storage costs per month and then held my stuff hostage while adding more and more fees. DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS... IT IS A RIPOFF. Mike, the salesman, was smooth and kind on the phone but definitely did not fully disclose the costs of the move. promising 2 guys at 85/hr, three hour minimum. He did NOT mention that wrapping my TV would be $60 extra then the movers show up 1.5 hours late. No call saying they'd be late. when I called after 45 minutes, the operator said they were15 minutes away, it was 45 minutes later that they showed up. when I asked if they'd hit traffic they said no. one of the movers looked strung out on speed, the other was a true angel. I am sorry that he has to work for Laprom. It was the angel man who took one look at my apartment and said it would cost waaaaaay more than $255. OK, I was ready for some upcharge because I had not boxed everything but this guy pulled out a sheet of paper itemizing everything from wrapping my mattress is plastic ($9) to a roll of tape ($5) to packing my TV ($60) and he went on from there. He could not give me a "not to exceed price" as required by law, he didn't seem to have a clear grasp on the language and he was clearly embarrassed by what he was telling me. the hyper dude was saying we can do it, we can do it.... I called Mike who was a jerk on the phone, saying he'd told me there would be extra charges, that he was going to charge me the $100 cancellation fee per the electronic signature, he didn't even say "hey can I talk to my guy and get you a not to exceed charge?" I cancelled the job because I was concerned it would cost me 5x the original and I had no sense of confidence in their word. Don't even get me started on Ed hanging up on me twice when I tried to get a refund for the $100 charge they made on my account... these guys need serious classes in customer service. read more

Used Laprom in 2011. They were just OK. Showed up on time; packed pretty efficiently; followed me to the new place; unpacked pretty fast. Complaints: broke a couple of peices of furniture, but they were large IKEA units (not really ever meant to be moved), & were still usable so I didn't make an issue of it. Also, our boxes were clearly marked regarding which rooms to put them in the new house. If we had not been watching they would have put them anywhere & left us with a lot of moving to do ourselves. This moving company was not at all professional, courteous nor careful with my personal belongings. When I booked the move, I was 100% clear that the move was 75% wardrobe and some furniture and that I cared very much that my clothing be in the same order while packed. This was not the case and they not only destroyed any semblance of order, but damaged so many things I cannot inventory the list as I am still 3 days after the move going thru boxed they tossed crystal and breakable items in without any measure for the safe delivery of the items. While the truck was half full, they insisted it was best to make two trips to "save me moving cost." That made no sense, but the man started fast talking and going into a shady sales pitch and I figured I preferred the lowest amount of aggravation, so I said do as you please and please do the work well and I will be happy. They arrived in my new place started to unload, I walked one block to my bank to get partial payment for the men. I felt it was fair because part of the job was complete. I did not have a great reaction to the partial payment and the foreman insisted I pay the full sum now when the job was halfway complete. I was not doing this, pulled out a video camera, and asked, so if you have not competed the job and insist full payment. I asked, after they have the total will they finish, what happens? This man then on camera stated he will not be completing the work because the agreed price is low and I would have to increase the # if I want it finished. I let this continue for a few minutes before locking my home. Paying $0 and insisting they do all the work or piss off because I do not accept bullying, will I be neither harassed nor intimidated. I also, thanked the man for his forthright admission of fraud via video, which I would later use in the necessary process of action when I made a claim against this type of illegal practice. I went back to my home where the move began and the company called and said they would return and take the partial pay then finish and I could complete payment at that time. I called an officer in Santa Monica whom I know to see that I was not going to find myself in a situation and he spoke to the three men and said to conclude the job and refrain from further menacing behavior. They were increasingly careless and damaged so many things. I am heartbroken over the family heirlooms they tossed into boxes with zero protection. My experience with Pink movers makes me never want to use or trust another moving company again. The negative issues started by them arriving an hour early while I was still at work. I was unable to leave work early, so I met them at the scheduled time. When I arrived the movers were sleeping in the truck and acted very unhappy that they had to wait an hour for me even though they were early. Throughout the move the two men (late 20's) were moving slower than I would have expected and their unhappy mood never lifted. The company charges by the hour, and I was given a 3 hour estimate to move my 1-bedroom when I made the reservation. My new place was ten miles away from my old place, and it ended up taking the two men more than 6 hours to complete the move (it was taking so long that my b/f went out to their truck and began helping them!). I had everything in a box, so all they had to do was move all of the boxes and furniture (disassembling the bed and kitchen table). After everything was moved out of my old place and in the truck, I said to one of the men how it seemed to be taking a long time to do the move. He answered by saying "you have a lot of stuff for a 1-bedroom". I have no idea what he meant by that. A 1-bedroom is a 1-bedroom. I have a bed, dresser, table, love seat and couch, one tv and some miscellaneous items such as a floor lamp. As soon as I had to sign the papers in the beginning about paying by the hour and how tipping was highly recommended (cash tip!), I had that gut feeling that makes you realize you just did the wrong thing....but since I had made the reservation it was too late to cancel. Well we were only moving across the street. Small two bedroom apt....right across the street. The movers showed up on time and began wrapping our furniture like we were going to transport it across the country. It took about 2 hours to wrap the sofa, our table, a recliner....we knew we were looking at a small fortune since they charge by the hour. As I was moving stuff myself one man was taking two to four boxes at a time on a dolly down to a truck. On my return to the apt to move more stuff myself, the furniture wrapper had changed the channel on my tv to a soccer game!!!!! We fired them after they pittled for four hours costing us over $600. They were rude, dumped the two wardrobe boxes on our living room floor. After four hours we still had to hire movers for all our bedroom furniture and the majority of our boxes. Totally disgusting experience. I would never recommend this company. After we complained to the manager, he totally sided with the movers. He offered to send us a refund of one hour, but since that never happened I decided he deserved the rating I am giving him today. A big fat ZERO! read more
