As i'm getting ready to move the furniture out of my townhome at 10am, I get a call at 8 from the moving company i hired, saying that their truck yard burned down the night before. So, yeah, that happened. Now I'm scrambling to find someone, anyone, that might be able to help me move today. And as I scour yelp & citysearch i see a couple mover listings, and by far 24 MOVING seems to have the most positive reviews. I call them, and thankfully their schedule is open. They quote me for 2 movers and about 3 hours to complete my move. 24 Moving sends over Victor and Mark, and they do a great job. The two of them pack and load my 2 couches, an ottoman, a dining table + 6 chairs, a drafting table, a bookshelf, a twin bed, a nightstand, a box of clothes and a large dresser drawer. No laziness, no hidden fees, no attitude or complaining about how much stuff I have. They were able to load everything in about an hour, drive it all from Rancho Cucamonga to Duarte in about 40 minutes, and unload it all in about 30 min. or so. I fully expected the moving process to be horrible, that they might try to rip me off somehow. But Victor and Mark did a fantastic job. I made sure to tip them well, and thanked them for a job well done. You would think that with such excellent service that I'd give them 5 stars. Well, for Victor and Mark, they definitely earned 5 stars. I had to knock it down a star for a couple reasons. I understand that all movers charge for materials ($5/roll of tape, boxes, etc.) and also charge double-time for driving. The only issue I had with 24 MOVING was their seemingly over-abundance of 5-star reviews. There were plenty of 5 star reviews on Yelp and CitySearch, but as I actually read through each review, I noticed that a lot of the written reviews were made by reviewers who created their profiles that same month, and only had maybe 1 or 2 other yelp reviews total. Also, many of the reviewers were vague about the details of their move. Not to make false accusations, but I'm curious if some of those reviews were written to bump up their ratings. It's not so obvious on Yelp, but their CitySearch reviews are littered with generic "The movers were great / Very professional / Careful with my things / etc.", but no other details. Just something to be weary of if you read through the reviews. My advice? Ask for Victor and Mark specifically, and you know they'll do a great moving job for you. read more

Ok so I know moving companies can well, suck sometimes. I'm not sure what it is about this industry but there are sooooo many horror stories. I've moved a few times in the last 4 years and my main experiences with 3 different companies has been more or less just decent. I mean never any complaints really but nothing to make me shout for joy at the level of customer satisfaction I was looking to acheive. Well this time, I finally got it. I'm sure this place doesn't fulfill everyones expectations, but it filled mine yesterday. I had both Ilia(I apologize if I spelled that wrong) and Dennis and they were awesome. They were set to arrive between 9am-10am and they got there at 10:00am on the dot and by 11:00am everything was in there truck. My bed GONE, my couch GONE, my dining room table and television GONE!!!! It was like they magically disappeared, but low and behold it was Laprom's exceptional service that was magic. By 12:00pm, a whopping two hours later everything, and I mean everything was in my new apartment, partly cause of a close proximity to my old place, but still it was impressive. Nothing was broken, no damage came to either my new or old place. These two Russians were polite and friendly and it was just a pleasure overall. If there was a way to be VIP and have a Laprom phone service that directly connected me to these guys I would call on them like the Commiss constantly called on the Batman when in need. I mean these guys went up and down a flight of stairs, while handling heavy pieces at both my old and new apartment. Just impressive. These guys were simply EXCEPTIONAL!!!! My only complaint is with Laprom. That 4-hour minimum just seems a bit steep. I think 3 would do suffice it to say with smaller moves like mine. Pink was recommended to me by someone who uses them for office moves at a prestigious local university. I hired Pink to move the equivalent of a two bedroom house out of two locations (old house and storage unit) into a new house. This was done by a team of two men and a truck. The workers were very professional and fast. They took great care to wrap the furniture and large fragile items in blankets to not damage them. The entire job was done in under two hours, even though there were two locations and the storage unit was on a 2nd floor with no elevator! (There was no extra charge for the no elevator situation). I honestly don't understand the reviews that say it took 10+ hours for a simpler move than mine. There was a little damage done to my hardwood floor during the move. Even though the contract I signed with Pink clearly states that they're not responsible for hardwood floors they reimbursed me the cost of the move and then some to cover repair costs. It was very evident that Pink's first priority is the customer. If you have hardwood floors I would advise to let the movers unwrap and move the furniture to its place, in case there is damage done they can't try to say you did it. Another tip is to buy your own rolls of packing tape. There is an allowance of a certain number of rolls per move but they they use so much tape (because they pack so well) that they'll inevitably use them all up and charge extra for additional rolls at an inflated price. They also charge extra for mattress boxes which I declined, but they packed them up well in blankets anyway! All in all Pink did a superb job for me. read more

The actual movers, Alberto and Elmer, were amazing. Fast, professional, and very friendly. Unfortunately, the office personnel left something to be desired thus the 2 star review. Movers Calabasas came highly recommended to me so I was looking forward to obtaining their services. When I contacted the offices, I was given a breakdown on how pricing works, minimums, travel times, etc.. It all sounded good, and after some additional questions about travel times, I scheduled my appointment for the movers. When the movers showed up, the details on travel times (and the charges associated to it) were DOUBLE what I was told. I had even asked specifically about driving charges before I scheduled in order to clarify how much I would be paying. Since it was not Alberto or Elmer's fault, I contacted the offices to inquire about why I was told something different than the actual policy. While speaking to a gentlemen about my concerns, I was not met with an apology that the travel times/pricing were not explained properly to me, or that he understood there might have been some confusion; instead I was met with a few "what don't you understand" and "well, that's what it is" in a condescending voice. At the end of the day, my items were moved by the awesome combination of Alberto and Elmer. However, the company itself could not care less about customer service - that I was provided a quote that was not honored and condescending answers (when all I was looking for was some clarification on the original terms I was provided). It's safe to say that I will not be using Movers Calabasas again, nor will I refer them to anyone else read more

When i first used a moving company back in January 2007, I didn't know that Yelp existed. I hired a company that i thought was worth the money, but in the end they just put a huge hole in my wallet. I've had my fair share of unreliable, inefficient movers in the past and when i was looking for a moving company last month, i thought to myself that it was time for a change. Laprom Moving has changed my view about moving companies, well at least this one. I ended up finding Laprom Moving through a friend of mine who used them before and he told me that they were reasonably priced and professional. So i immediately called them to make an appointment and Jeremy was nice and friendly while dealing with me. He helped me schedule the move on the one day that i had off. With my work schedule being over 40 hours a week, i certainly didn't have the time and energy to pack up my stuff alone. The workers showed up on time and they started to pack my property. They did an amazing job taking care of my things, and made sure they wrapped all my furniture really well. Compared to the first company that I've used, this company made sure that nothing broke! I was very happy when they finished that i tipped the guys extra. Overall, the service was a little more expensive than i had originally thought because i was charged extra for tape and boxes, but everything went smoothly and i saw that the workers worked really hard, so i didn't hesitate about the price. When it comes to moving, I always dread it. I hate the stresses involved with moving such as renting a truck, and then loading all your belongings and unloading them again back into your new place, or even pulling your back and being sore when it's finally over. Simply put, I am lazy when it comes to moving. When the time came to move, I quickly rose to the idea of hiring a moving company. After getting multiple quotes from moving companies that all seemed a little bit shady, I was skeptical about whom I hired. Without a doubt, 24 Moving is the best moving company I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Their customer service on the phone was excellent, and they stuck with their excellence all the way through my move. I was about 1/3 of the way packed, but the 2-man crew I hired was able to get me fully packed, labeled, and moved into my new place in about 6 hours. That was a surprise for the amount of packed boxes wasn't a small amount. These guys took a great care of all my furniture as well. My Refrigerator, bed, couches, dressers and 2 TV's to name some, all arrived into my new apartment in one piece, even without a scratch. These guys were true professionals. Not only were they fast and efficient, they were very friendly and courteous as well. They were the all around package. I was so impressed with their work that I ended up tipping the guys an extra $50 Dollars each. I know I love my new place, but you never know when you will have to move again. These guys were great! They were on time, reliable, safe, cooperative and extremely nice. It is very stressful to be moving and having horrible movers is the last thing a person needs. I know I don't. Luckily Laprom Moving was perfect from the beginning to the end. So anyways, when I found my new apartment in Sherman Oaks, everything was perfect except there was one problem. The whole complex did not have an elevator... just stairs! And I was on the third floor! I knew it was going to be difficult to move everything, especially my refrigerator, up those stairs. Before the move, the staff called me to tell me that they were on the way and might be a little late. I was waiting with my sister for them to arrive at 10, and they got there at 10:10. No big deal. They began packing up all my belongings because I didn't have the time and energy to pack it up myself. Once we were done packing and loading the truck I told them the news about the stairs. Ilya laughed and said we can do this. We arrived at my new apartment and began unloading the truck. Ilya had a plan and his crew stuck to it. I thought that was efficient and professional. They got all the couches and dressers, refrigerator, mirrors, etc. up to my room on the third floor. The whole move took about 5 and a half hours, and I know the guys worked hard. I gave them an extra nice tip and bought them lunch just for their effort. I would so recommend Laprom Moving. They will definitely make your move non-stressful! read more

When Tito and his guys came to my home on Jan 5th, after quick check and discussion, he told me "When you go to sleep tonight, you will say 'Thanks God, what a smooth moving, what awesome guys they are'". He was right. At that night, I did say these words. Our family needs to move and have lots of staff. During the phone quote, they thought it may need two trucks. Johnny came to our house, go through all rooms, list most items. He told me all items could be in one truck. That saved us more than thousand dollars. Although at the end, there were some small staffs left, I had to go back and put them in my car. It took me 5 hours (including 3 and half hours driving) and $30 gas fee, compare with 2nd truck fee, what a good deal. Back to Tito, they are really awesome. Very professional: disassembled all the furniture, unmounts TV, wrap ALL big and expensive items, ARRANGE TRUCK SPACE (very very important for $$$$ saving), and reassembled furniture back. NO DAMEGE, unbelievable High efficient: arriving at 10am, 7 rooms + garage, 6 big furnitures need to be disassembled and reassembled + several other large items, tons boxes, 2 and half hours driving and lunch for 100 mile, leaving at 7:30pm. After leaving, everything was already in desired spots. Very friendly: When they came, we didn't know each other. When they left, all of our family liked these guys. If we need to move again, for moving company, I don't think we need another choice. read more

These guys are simply amazing!! I recently moved from a house in Burbank about 15 miles west into the valley. The people at the office made it easy to schedule and plan my move (with my girlfriend's and my work schedule), and they really helped me prepare for every detail in the moving process. From parking, packing, traffic, to delivery and set-up, Laprom Moving allayed all of my stress. Now on to our fantastic move. Not only did the movers arrive on time, they were here 15 minutes early. I was so impressed to see them lift every item carefully over stairs, around walls, and through the doorways. They showed me that they really cared about our belongings and were there for our satisfaction. Not to mention they worked fast! The crew at my home was so friendly, courteous, and ready to lend a hand. Arriving at our soon to be new home, the crew unloaded and patiently moved my furniture around for my girlfriend until she and I knew where we wanted things to go. After the whole move, I even received a phone call from the office asking me how my move went. This moving company has excellent customer service. I recently moved into an apartment in Sherman oaks with my three friends and we were in need of a great moving company. I thought I could have moved the stuff myself if I had three male roommates, but instead I had two female roommates. I'm not trying to make fun of them, but they did not want to lift a single thing...sigh. One of my friends ended up referring me to this company, after using them for one of his recent moves. These are some of my highlights: From the initial phone call to the end of the whole move, everything went smoothly and just as planned. This moving company was very reasonably priced and I want thank the guy on the phone, Nick, for being so helpful and telling me exactly what to expect. He helped me get the time I wanted (which was in the morning) so we can fix the house around during the evening/night. He also told me that if I had any questions, he was just a phone call away. The movers did a terrific job. They were fast, energetic, very friendly, and extremely professional. They even worked really well with both of my female friends, even though they were a bit annoying about where to put everything in the new apartment. I didn't think it was possible! I didn't think it was possible to find a moving company that offered as good a service as Pink. Seriously, Pink Moving could teach a lot of other companies a thing or two about honest business dealings, treating the customer right, and ensuring the quality of their work. When I first talked to one of the men over at Pink Moving, he assured me that they would do an excellent job for me. I kind of laughed to myself when I heard this, thinking "oh sure, that's what they all say," but lo and behold, he was telling the TRUTH!! The moving guys not only had the consideration to carefully place every single box of my stuff on the floor, but they were also very friendly and chatted with me while they busily lifted and carried things in and out of my old and new home. If I had it to do all over again, the only thing I would do differently is I would have bought a case of beer so I could give them each a couple at the end of the day, to show how much I appreciated the job they did. I wasn't really expecting to even feel good about having to pay them the money I owed them, let alone wanting to give them something as an extra thanks. They rock!! First let me start out by saying I love the Pink truck! It was very vibrant and cute. I helped my parents move last weekend and it was such a success...thanks to Pink Moving! Some of the highlights of this moving company were: 1)They weren't late one bit. They even showed up about 5 minutes prior to the arrival time. 2)They were professional and organized. They had a strict plan and stuck to it throughout the whole move. Nothing was broken and everything showed up at the new house. They told me the hourly rate and didn't charge me anything over the price they originally quoted. The guy on the phone was very clear about charging for any material needed for the move (bubble tape, shrink wrap, etc). 3)They were fairly priced (compared to other companies we've used in the past) 4)They were fast and efficient! They only took one break for lunch, even in this terrible heat. They kept working until we finished our entire move! 5)The movers were very friendly and courteous! They were cute too (I like Russians). And Did I mention? I thought their pink shirts were really cute! They were very nice and understanding of our needs. I recently moved from LA to Santa Cruz with a couple of buddies of mine and I have never, ever been as impressed with a company as I have been with Laprom Moving. First let me say that I wasn't the only one moving out of my parents house; My two other friends were also moving out (1 from his house and 1 from another apartment). That being said, the movers had to go to each of our places before we were able to be on the way to SC. Every single step of the way, they were professional, hard-working, diligent, efficient and friendly. Since my friend was providing the couches, fridge, dinner table, etc (since he was moved out already), I told the movers to go to his apartment first. The movers did an excellent job wrapping each furniture item with moving blankets and were a great help on packing the rest of our belongings. Since they meticulously wrapped everything, everything arrived safe and sound in Santa Cruz without even a scratch! They even helped us unload everything into the proper rooms of our new pad. This company was as legit as it could have been. No surprises and were definitely reasonably priced. They made our first day in our new home a great one. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat to anyone interested in hiring professional movers. read more

I was remodeling my Condo, and during the process, I had to move a lot of furniture around. I was also putting in new appliances in the kitchen, so the old appliances had to be taken out and the new ones brought in. I initially started moving things from room to room myself as the remodelers were working, but I realized that was not a good idea. That's when I called 24 Moving. Two guys came in and everything was moved beautifully. They used blankets and protective covering, they used dollies if things were too heavy, and they did a good job moving things either out of the house or into different rooms, as necessary. Then, I had them come back at the end of the remodeling job to move things back into the house. It took about a week to book things, then they called me the night before to make sure the guys they were sending out were appropriate for the job. For example, I live in a three story house and the move was going to involve heavy lifting, and they made sure to send out people that could handle that kind of work. I thought they were competent and professional, and they really seemed to go that extra step to make things right. Summary: Good people, good movers, I couldn't have done it without them. FYI, this company is apparently affiliated with Pink Movers, which is who I orginally called for the appointment, so you may get them if you search for Pink. I asked for 3 men and a truck, and was told they would arrive between 10 and 11 am, and they showed up perfectly on time at 10:30. Amir and his crew were very friendly, explained to me all services up front, and were very polite and consiencious. Once I signed the order they got to work pronto and moved very efficiently. Try and make sure you wrap up everything yourself -- they will explain to you up front that if they need to wrap anything they will charge you for non-reusable items, but this is a moving industry standard. Also, it definitely kept everything safe, as none of my items were hurt or damaged in the move. There was one small issue with some stuff they forgot to grab (and it was partially my fault for not checking at the end like they asked) but they promptly made it right after I let them know - a VERY nice surprise that I doubt most other moving companies would do. We had our move taken place on april 2nd 2011 from thousand oaks california to winnetka california. It was a very pleasant experience provided by three Russian movers, whose names were ( Ilya, Vlad, Leonid). These guys did a terrific job on moving everything quickly without any hold up or trying to delay as much time as possible like many other scam moving companies out there. These guys completed the move within 4 hours, which were the minimum hours required. These guys didn't take any breaks in between. They wrapped our furniture well and everything was delivered without any damage. They had good attitude, which made the customers feel comfortable and satisfied. I must say it was the best moving experience I've had. Make sure you ask for these three guys. On the side note, they do charge 5 dollars per roll of tape, we had our friend go to office depot to get them by ourselves, it was 4 dollars each, not much of a difference offered by them. Also there would be an additional 5% charge of the bill if paid by credit card. Besides that, these guys really impressed me with their professionalism and politeness. read more

Pink Moving worked nothing short of a miracle when they moved me out of my condo and into my new house. You see, when I moved into my condo, I bought the living room and bedroom furniture from the previous owner who was about to move overseas, but I have no idea how the previous owner managed to get the furniture in the condo! Well, the guys from Pink and I were joking that they must have built the condo around the furniture because it definitely didn't fit through the doors or down the hallways very easily. These poor guys had to try to wedge and push the furniture through so many tight spaces but somehow they managed to do it without any major damages--there was one teeny tiny scratch on the foot of the sofa, but that was it! The Pink moving men really showed me that they are up for any challenge and that they will find a way to make it work. I'm sure other companies would have taken one look at it and said it wasn't possible, so I'm very appreciative of what Pink Moving was able to do. Heaven forbid I have to move again any time soon, but if I had to, I would use 24 Moving again. This moving company exceeded my expectations and really made me realize that some people still believe in old fashioned hard work and helping out their fellow man. I'm on disability and my monthly budget is pretty tight, so when I had to move to a new apartment I was a bit worried about being able to afford movers. My neighbor put me in touch with 24 Moving because they had helped to move her daughter and she said their prices were reasonable. Even though 24 gave me a good quote for the job over the phone, I was still really worried that they would come back later with all sorts of hidden costs. I hear about stuff like that happening all the time and knew that I just wouldn't be able to manage it financially, should they decide to tack on a few extra hundred dollars. Luckily, 24 Moving stuck to their word and my bill was exactly for the amount that I had been quoted. What a relief! I want everyone to know how much I appreciate their integrity and the job they did. It sure meant a lot to me. read more

We had a great experience with these guys. Not sure where the other reviewers were getting their estimates but we were fully informed of all costs up front. Yes, $20 per blanket on top of the $15 wrapping per item to keep our stuff wrapped up while in storage was a bit of sticker shock but we knew we had the option of wrapping it ourselves. All that said, the wrapping job was impeccable and we were comfortable with the fact that all of our stuff was getting moved in the rain. Our two movers, Bernie and Victor, were fantastic and we actually had a great time with them. They moved quickly, efficiently, and treated all of our things with genuine care. We did not witness any "tossing" from the truck. As for Chuck, I only had a positive experience with him as well. I called to ask a few questions about pricing and parking the day before the move and he disclosed all those "hidden" costs of wrapping, etc. Perhaps the other reviewers should be more thorough in their evaluation of the services provided rather than expecting everything for free.
