The add on fees are outrageous, I had been renting a unit here for over 2 1/2 years and every year the rent increased from $50-$70. The property security is great! It's the fees that accumulate whenever and whatever the cost was stressful for me. I was homeless while renting the unit and the staff constantly threatened me with auction and lien fees when the grace period was not even up. Causing confusion and unnecessary stress. I would not recommend anyone to rent here if they don't have a money tree growing in their backyards read more

I don't recommend Public Storage as they are more concerned with price gouging the customer. They have increased my cost each year and even once before the year had expired. And they informed me that they can do that. I will be looking for another location that provides more value than this place. This place is a complete rip off and not a place you ever want to use long term. They will jack up your monthly rental without mercy and punish you for your loyalty. My cost for a 10x10 went from $335 in 11/2021, to $406 in 2/2022, to $491 in 8/2022, and to $624 in 8/2023. I finally moved out today. I am sure these increases were not anywhere justified by their costs, as the same size unit is available on the website today for $186. They will abuse you. Stay away. read more

I'll start off by saying the manager, Chris at PS at this location is always polite and kind. This review is strictly about how a theft was handled at this location when Chris was not there. We had our unit broken into and ransacked in October and didn't find out till February (Note: we would have found out the next day but our business is shut down due to Covid). The thieves stole $6200.00 of our business inventory, they cut a big hole in the metal door but PS didn't feel the need to let us know. PS even repaired the door without telling us and put a new lock on and I repeat, we were never notified. We were never given the opportunity to show up when they put the new lock on or access the damage so we could file a timely police report. We were told that they called my cell phone and that it was 'full'. They say they called 2x the day of the robbery but never again, no VM. I note that I do business on my phone so I can't afford to have it full, I repeat, it was not full more than a few hours. They also do not have security cameras in our section. They have them everywhere else, for some reason, but not where we have our unit. Just beware that PS could really care less about your belongings once they have your contract and your money. They do not go the extra mile and they do not care if your items are stolen. They are nice just not caring and efficient. read more

Do not make a reservation at 888 Fair Oaks PublicStorage facility. They will be calling you to confirm many times until the day you on the reservation. On that day Chris will call to let you know that the unit you reserved has been rented to someone else and ask if you would like to reserve another unit 50 miles out of your way. We selected this storage due to the convenience and easy access most of the time. They do offer plenty of size options. Now we have rented two different units in this facility and both times the rent has been increased 20-30% within a few months of signing the rental aggreement. These are not incremental increases but significant amounts. The remote entry through the gates from the phone app is also spotty at best. More often than not we have to get out of the car to punch in the access code. Clearly the increases in revenue are not put back into the facility. read more

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I've been stressed out with looking for a place to live, moving my belongings, and finding short term storage space, but I must thank Public Storage, specifically Shannon for making this an extremely easy, and enjoyable experience. I submitted my online order, within minutes Shannon was calling me (I was literally still on the website when my phone rang). She pleasantly answered my questions and scheduled an appointment same day. Although Shannon was the only person on duty, I have to giver her kudos for being courteous to all of her customers, and being professional while trying to expedite transactions and juggling walk-ins. If you don't care about the customer service, here are the logistics of my experience. I am leasing a 10' x 10' space for $148/month. I still give this place 5 stars because there is no contract. Payments are made on a monthly basis if you choose to continue leasing storage space. I recommend placing your order online as it saves you $$. The promotional special I received was 50% off my first month. *Note: You will have to pay for a lock (which you keep), an administration fee ($22), and insurance ($11 minimum). read more

Let me start by saying the people that operate this place have no bearing on my opinion. They're ok. Like most employees of places like these, they have no vested interest in the place, and could care less if you come or go. That being said... Buyer beware. The place is not especially clean, damage is not repaired in a timely manner nor is the elevator always functional. If you have home owners insurance, DO NOT purchase theirs. It does NOT cover vermin. I.E. mice, rats, and in this case moths. I opened my unit to discover a cartoon like volume of moths inside. Since I have never had moths, I didn't react right away. Until I saw webbing on the back side of my VERY expensive oriental rugs. They are now ruined. I took my complaint up the food chain only to get. "Sorry". That was it. Sorry. No compensation whatsoever. No couple of months free, no OMG we'll fumigate right away! no help with insurance, no help moving out of my unit to a "new" unit. Just. "Sorry". I know we ALL have to much stuff. I work in the entertainment industry as a Decorater. Believe me! I have too much stuff. But sometimes I need to store things in between projects. If you're place is not up to snuff, I expect a little more than "sorry". read more

My experience with PS, for the 2nd time, has started off very well. I met the manager at the site, Raffi, today and I am really in good hands with him. He is very informative yet succinct in his explanations about the available spaces, size and items for those spaces along with specific plans for each rental. Raffi really gets that each customer has a unique set of circumstances and needs for storage. He is definitely a company person in that he will sell you add-ons, but only those that make sense. Raffi thinks ahead and recommends those accessories that you will/may miss in your move process and and he will put together an excellent package for the client. His sense of urgency and ability to multi-task is very much appreciated. I am in good hands with Raffi and I am very happy about selecting this location to temporarily store my items. Thanks Raffi. BEWARE!!!!!!!! Over 22 break-ins in Building B/2nd Floor in just a few weeks.

I thought the nice young ladies did a fine job of signing me up. THey answered all of my questions and were efficient in their use of my time. A Tip - when you get boxes - five bales of 10 boxes each is the best Quantity price-wise, but that can be a bit daunting to carry. Thread one of those recently despised and - in some places Banned outright - plastic bags under the strapping of two or three bales as they rest on end. Then tie the ends of the threaded bag together in a loose loop and you can easily carry the two bundles (2 bales of 10 in one and 3 bales of 10 in the other). MOve-in day tomorrow - looking forward to having New Carpet AND more room in my condo!! read more

In a pinch needed to get some storage and found a very reasonable deal on their online page. Filled out the space request and early the next morning Chris called to confirm the request. Was willing to hold it for me until I could get down there to check it out and go over it all. I know many have mentioned another manager that was very helpful, Shannon I think, but Chris was also super friendly and helpful. We went over to the storage and checked it out. They actually had a few spots so he let me choose the one I wanted and worked it out. Got a good deal as the first month was free and the second was pro-rated. The price was very good for the size, especially considering other places in Pasadena for the same size. Can't say enough of how nice and professional Chris was and happy to have a place close to me in a good area. read more

The great thing about Raffi, the current manager of this location, is that he's more concerned with the longevity of customer relationships than he is with getting new customers. It's rare and refreshing to encounter someone in his capacity who insists on operating without BS. We have recently experienced maintenance issues with our 2nd floor storage unit. Elevator and hall light are not functioning. Units do not have lighting. Manager could not give a firm commitment as to when issues would be repaired. Rents go up significantly every year. We expect better service for what we pay. read more

I bring this to the attention of the girl at the front desk and she nonchalantly says "Oh yeah, we have ants in the summer. Every summer they come in." A couple of weeks ago I needed to move my previous warehouse and I found a new home at Public Storage 888 S.Fair Oaks Ave in Pasadena. I tried to book my space on line and for some reason I was unable to do so. So I rushed over there, because It was the last large unit left. I met three really great people. Shannon the manager, Ana and Jonathan who were in training. I can not say enough about their professionalism. But what struck me the most that they were kind and cheerful. Shannon honored my attempt to book on line, because we talked by phone. The rental on line is cheaper. Jonathan and Ana processed my application on the computer. It is more involved than one would think. You can easily forget a detail. Shannon the manager was great! So many people micro manage others. She trusted her instinct that learning is best accomplished by doing. All three went with me to my new space and showed me how to open the roll up door and to operated the lock. You may get your first month free, but they will screw you and Jack up your rent in a couple months to recoup it. Nothing is free. Read the fine print in their contract! They can and will, increase rent at any time with no specified amount. I'd never go here again. They send you a letter that they will increase your rent (by 30% in my case). I had 2 customer service reps claim that these are operational costs passed on to the customer. What operation?! A few employees and a prison like building! You can move or stay. They don't care.
