Been downsizing so I can move from the 10x10 unit into a smaller and cheaper storage space. To that end, I reserved a 8x10 and planned the move. Unfortunately, the unit I reserved online that was advertised as 8x10 was barely 6'9" x 8'4" once I showed up to move in. This is much smaller than 8x10 and it's frankly the difference between a comfortable fit or needing to bring boxes back home. The 8x10 they advertise is closer to a 7x8. I brought up this issue with the employees at the desk and they pointed out the fine print that says the size is "approximate." To me, approximate means a few inches, not feet. Overall, the facility is clean and nice, but the customer service needs a lot of work. When moving out of the 10x10, the employee at the desk, the call center, and the location manager all gave me conflicting information about their move-out policy, which ended up costing me approximately $150 because I did not get the refund I was expecting and had to pay for the 8x10 I reserved earlier than necessary. My experience moving out of the 10x10 is detailed in a previous review. This is specifically a review of moving into the advertised 8x10, which is not even close to that size. Do they pick up the phone? Only when there's someone at the desk. Very often there is only 1 employee there, especially on weekends and they will lock up the office if they are busy with another customer or out to lunch. Also, check your invoice! We signed a lease agreement for $206.50. When we got the first invoice, they were charging us $228.50. When I asked to correct it, the property manager said the amount is closer to $240, which I never would have agreed to in the first place. Like what is this bait and switch? He said he would do his best, but it's not guaranteed. I was shocked he couldn't fix it on the spot and that he couldn't guarantee us the price for the lease amount we signed just because he messed up and entered the incorrect amount and never told us. No one wants to take responsibility there. Lastly, when they offer a promo like 50% off the first 2 months, be aware that partial months count as full months. So if you move in the last week of a month, your first month of 50% off is only for a week. They will NOT explain this to you. They will say you get 50% off the first 2 months. When I asked about this and said that's not 2 months, the property manager Landon said "if you don't like it, you can move out." read more

Your storage unit is full so they feel safe in demanding more money in six months. Then six months later another increase, then another six months later another increase and so on and so on. Finally took the last remaining items out of storage and closed down all units. Upon closer inspection, tallying up all the amounts, over the last 4-5 years, I've discovered how much I've spent. I had 5 very large units after closing down a business. That left me with 7 desks, 16 office chairs, stools, bookcases, shelving, filing cabinets and more. It was a costly lesson. Take $395 x 12 months = 4,740 X 5 storage units. $23,700. For one year of storage. For 5 ( Five ) Units. Not happy about how I spend money. People, when you close down a business or home. LIQUIDATE !! A-S-A-P !! ! Just save your legal documents. That's it. Take all your emotional attachments to "things" and toss them into the Pacific Ocean ! You are never going to get any $$$ out of those material goods. I was one of the absolute FIRST customers to find this storage facility and I moved everything in right when this facility opened. Cleo couldn't have been kinder, nicer or better to me and helped me deal with my anguish. Remember, The employees that work here at US storage are not your slaves. They are not there to carry your boxes or even help you with running an extension cable. It's on the customer, not US storage staff to take care of YOUR stuff. Just make sure your insurance policy is in place. Inventory and take pictures of everything. Close the Door. Padlock it and walk away. You're in excellent hands regarding the security of your belongings. And oh ... STOP stealing those carts and locking them up in your own units so that no one else can use them.
