    Been downsizing so I can move from the 10x10 unit into a smaller and cheaper storage space. To that end, I reserved a 8x10 and planned the move. Unfortunately, the unit I reserved online that was advertised as 8x10 was barely 6'9" x 8'4" once I showed up to move in. This is much smaller than 8x10 and it's frankly the difference between a comfortable fit or needing to bring boxes back home. The 8x10 they advertise is closer to a 7x8. I brought up this issue with the employees at the desk and they pointed out the fine print that says the size is "approximate." To me, approximate means a few inches, not feet. Overall, the facility is clean and nice, but the customer service needs a lot of work. When moving out of the 10x10, the employee at the desk, the call center, and the location manager all gave me conflicting information about their move-out policy, which ended up costing me approximately $150 because I did not get the refund I was expecting and had to pay for the 8x10 I reserved earlier than necessary. My experience moving out of the 10x10 is detailed in a previous review. This is specifically a review of moving into the advertised 8x10, which is not even close to that size. Do they pick up the phone? Only when there's someone at the desk. Very often there is only 1 employee there, especially on weekends and they will lock up the office if they are busy with another customer or out to lunch. Also, check your invoice! We signed a lease agreement for $206.50. When we got the first invoice, they were charging us $228.50. When I asked to correct it, the property manager said the amount is closer to $240, which I never would have agreed to in the first place. Like what is this bait and switch? He said he would do his best, but it's not guaranteed. I was shocked he couldn't fix it on the spot and that he couldn't guarantee us the price for the lease amount we signed just because he messed up and entered the incorrect amount and never told us. No one wants to take responsibility there. Lastly, when they offer a promo like 50% off the first 2 months, be aware that partial months count as full months. So if you move in the last week of a month, your first month of 50% off is only for a week. They will NOT explain this to you. They will say you get 50% off the first 2 months. When I asked about this and said that's not 2 months, the property manager Landon said "if you don't like it, you can move out."

    do not use this storage facility! my key would not open the required cylinder lock even though im the only one who has the keys and code. without explaining how/why this was possible, they made me pay $50 to open lock and $20 to replace it. site mgr christina was not helpful. i asked that they comp just the replacement lock as a courtesy for the inconvenience but she wouldnt. i must add that ryan in the office was extremely helpful, understanding, and sympathetic. but unfortunately it was not his decision to make.

    They even have a system if you want to donate stuff! The security system only allows you to get off at your unit floor only. Awesome...

    SO awesome! I stopped by spontaneously and there was a truck in front that says "free use" if you rent with them! I just immediately got a unit because: - clean place/office - safe area - free truck use to move stuff!! No need for a uhaul! - great price - super nice staff - the process of signing up was easy I'm actually really thrilled! Super productive this morning!

The insurance is Fraud too, will never respond or payout a claim. They will only take your money. I had a unit with 2 concrete walls and the third wall that is shared with the neighboring unit is made of drywall. Which is actually a very cheap way of doing things, should be metal. Well the first time I found the infestation in 2022 I made a claim and nothing, no response at all. Had to throw out a ton of items. Afterwards I had the unit cleaned and even swept. Well went this weekend to move out of the storage and long and behold another rodent infestation but 100 times worst even now. And the first time I even found a dead mouse. Now this time I had to throw away so many items. But what was upsetting was I had to throw away my blanket I've had since my childhood and I no longer have either one of my parents. Here they charge you a good amount to rent. So when you pay for a facility to store your valuable items you expect your items to be there in the condition you stored them in. You don't expect to come back and have to throw away your items. And when I called them to let them know, the guy in the office tried to gaslight me and somehow blame me. Like we don't know what you store??? Are you serious???? Take responsibility as a business to have the proper maintenance to not have a serious rodent infestation!!!!

People that are not their current customers are sneaking into the facility. They're waiting outside the exit gate and rushing into the premises when customers leave. Sometimes they are in cars, sometimes they are walking/running in. Every once in a while, current customers may have forgotten their access code. Usually, they are at the entry gate waiting to get in when other customers enter. They are not facing the exit gate and rushing to get in. I'm also noticing cars parked in their parking lot that have sitting for weeks. I have belongings in this storage facility and I'm concerned about my own safety and the safety of my belongings. So, I decided to ask one of their employees one fine afternoon - August 6th @ 1:40pm - about this activity. Tall brown haired white guy. Not only was he irritated, agitated and didn't want to answer any of my questions, his rotten attitude was overall unwelcoming and didn't want to be bothered or answer any questions. Instead he was complaining that I was asking him too many questions before he had a chance clock in. He mentioned that Public Storage is renting out parking spaces which might explain some of these people wanting to gain entry. If someone is leasing a parking spot, wouldn't they have an access code? Why are they gate crashing? Bam! He got even more irritated. He decided to reprimand me as if I'm letting these gate crashers in illegally. He cited that current account holders letting any gate crashers in can have their accounts cancelled. I couldn't believe it! I'm trying to get some assurance about my own safety and the security of my belongings that I have in their storage and I get threatened with a reprimand about letting gate crashers in. Isn't it kind of strange that he's getting irritated with my asking questions about these gate crashers? Is he involved with these gate crashers? I've made two calls to their district manager and left a message with their property manager about this incident and my ongoing concerns about the security of this facility. The only thing I wish they gave people the option is to use the trash can and I myself don't mind to paid extra to throw small article of trash. Nothing g really big like a sofa or big items. THEY BROKE THE LAW: I rented a storage unit in January 2025. In June, they sent a letter with a 102% rent increase, effective in 30 days. Per California Civil Code 827(b)(3) , they were supposed to give a 90-day notice because the rate increase was over 10%.  They were reported to the Better Business Bureau and received certified mail with response required. They did not reply in either instance. DO NOT SIGN WITH THESE CON ARTISTS: The contract states you cannot file a class action lawsuit against them, and that you may be responsible for THEIR attorney fees even if you win. When you sign with them, you are giving up your rights to a proper legal defense. They don't want you challenging them, and they think you are a cash-giving sucker. That is extremely unacceptable. THEIR BUILDING IS DIRTY: On my move-out day, there were lots of screws and debris on the parking lot floor, and inside the complex. They probably want you to have flat tires. There were no employees in the main office. I don't trust any business where they lock their doors and don't even try to answer your questions. STAY AWAY FROM GOSTOREIT AND THEIR ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICES!
