I've work with many different storage companies throughout the years, but I have to be honest and say that SmartStop Self Storage #6131 in San Gabriel is the best in the business. The place is practically brand new, is always clean, and I never have a problem with entering & leaving the facility. I want to give a special shout out to David, Anna, & especially Eddie. They've all been extremely accommodating & very professional at their jobs. Always very pleasant and courteous when I see them. They are always very willing to help when any issues arise. They are great employees. I feel safe and secure that my things are stored at their facility. Never had any serious issues. I will continue to store my things there because it's close & convenient, the facility is beautiful, but most of all because of the employees. read more

Very clean and bright storage space, bright hallways, free carts (they need to hold your ID). Gate code allows entry everyday of the week (6am to 10pm) with additional hours where they have staff onsite (930am to 6pm Monday thru Friday, sat 9-4pm, 10am to 2pm on sundays). I got an indoor closet like space of 5 x 10 ft for 98/mo, but I did have to add an additional insurance (mandatory unless you can prove you have your own) that covers up to $2000 in the case of fire, flood, etc. they charge an additional $29 to set up initially but I believe they all do that. The staff was very professional. It's local for me so that is the most important. What's great was that the employee even came out with my ID so I didn't even have to park outside the office, get out, and go back into the office to exchange the cart key for my ID. There's a gate code to both enter and exit the lot, enter the building, and use the elevator, so it's good knowing the place is secure. read more

Needed to upgrade my unit, in the middle of my cycle. Wasn't sure what was needed, spoke with Anna to see what my options were. She was super patient with me and showed me a couple of unit. Since I wasn't sure of the size I needed she showed me all the units that might work. Didn't end up making a decision that day so instead of trying to sell me on a unit she just explained what the process would once I did decide. Appreciated the fact that I wasn't pressured into anything ,but instead was shown clearly what my next steps were. Great job Anna!!! read more

Elevator hasn't worked for 6 months and spoke to someone today and it will be down another 6 months. Not sure why they don't get it fixed and pay their bills to get it done faster. I would Not recommend this place due to inefficient management and ownership. read more

Folks, I also want to say how much I love the cleanliness and brightness of the storage facility. My sister and I were looking for our lost phone and reached out to Terressa for help. Steven was incredible and answering all of my questions and concerns. The facility hours is very convenient for my use case. This storage unit is a brand new built so everything works and very clean. The hallway are all well lit. They have very big dolly compared to my previous storage unit and I really like it. I could fit 3 rows of my 27 gallons on it in one go, 6 or 9 empty totes in one trip. I have been with Smartstop for 2 yrs there have been several managers but Teresa by far the newest one is the best. She understand helpful and very professional and always willing to go the extra mile. I recently chose SmartStop to store things and I couldn't be happier with this choice. There are a lot of storage places around but not like this facility in San Gabriel. It's very clean and managed well. The staff is professional. What a breath of fresh air compared to other places I have stored with. Steven was incredibly helpful during the tour and then the contract process. It might sound funny to say about a storage facility, but this place is top tier. read more

This storage is extremely terrible, they punish everybody based on what one person at the storage has done. They keep all of the push carts locked up so when they leave, nobody is able to use them, its extremely inconvenient if you have lots of items to carry up. They also have 2 restrooms but only one restroom has been in service for almost 3 months, so sometimes people have to wait in lines just to use restroom an they know this, but still refuse to open the second restroom to help out their renters.The Good thing about this place is its cheap an has decent deals, thats about it, if they gave us access to push carts without leaving your id, would be much better,because when they leave, no one has access to the carts, they are all chained up smh read more
