Fortunately, i received a response from the kind people at Storbox the only day I had left before the land lady was going to have everything junked. I feel terrible for forgetting her name but the very courteous, professional woman at Storbox that greeted me was a real life saver. It was late in the day, they were open for 1 more hour and she was able to go over contract details, storage unit sizes/prices and standard grounds procedures/protocols so efficiently that I was still able to return to my new unit within operating hours and achieve my goal of having all my items safely and securely relocated by the days end. There are multiple storage location options in Pasadena but Storbox was the one to come through in my time of need and I can confidently recommend this location without a doubt.

I don't believe I saw any mention of bringing your own lights. The lights in the hallway are not bright enough to light up the storage unit. I struggled for hours trying to build shelves in the light that I could get, but gave up because it was a pain. 2. Bad Support - I realized the 10x15 I picked was too big the same day I got it. Customer support said I can downgrade it in the first 24 hours if I go in and talk to the manager. I drove 1 hour for the person at the front desk to tell me that they cannot transfer to a smaller unit. So either customer support was wrong, or the front desk was wrong. So I wasted 2 hours of driving because I was told it was possible. I have had the unit for under 12 hours since they didn't open until 7am, it should still be possible to change to another unit. The website says 3 other units were available. 3. Unfriendly Service - The woman at the front desk is not friendly. She was unfriendly during all my interactions with her. But the chat support was much more friendly. 4. Inaccurate Storage Size - The 10x15 is more like 9 1/2 by 14 1/2. 5. No Bathrooms - If you are spending hours there unpacking, there is no bathroom to use. 6. Hot Building - The place is hot and there is no air circulation, which sucks if you are building up a sweat in the hot unit. Some pros: - Cheaper than some other options. - Lots of security cameras. - Two dollies available. - Easy sign up process. - Access at 7am Overall I'm left with a bad feeling about this place already. The lack of light made building shelves in the unit extremely hard. I would have brought lights and a fan if the website suggested it. And my interaction with the front desk did not feel welcoming.

I asked if that was the price after the discount, and she said yes. Then I asked what the price was before the discount, and she repeated the same thing again like I was supposed to do the math myself: "$267 with 50% off." Somehow she acted like I was the one giving her an attitude. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't rent here. The place is old and run-down anyway.

When I called the manager to talk about it, she just kept repeating that they were month-to-month, as if that excused it, and that an increase in month 3 and month 8 were normal. That would have been really nice to know before we signed up, especially considering the first time I rented here my rent only increased twice IN SIX YEARS. This has never been their standard business practice until now, and I'm really disgusted to see them pulling this BS on their customers this time around, especially with the economy being so bad and people are barely scraping by. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the male employee who works here is always very kind and helpful, and I genuinely DID love this business as it was run very well in the past and its always been very clean and safe, but they took advantage of me this time around and I just really do not appreciate it, especially having previously been a happy, long-time client with only positive experiences before this. When I was done and trying to manage the elevator which is an old fashioned way to get up and down. It was stuck between floors. I called the front office. The guy that's there only on the weekends stated to yell at me over the phone. Then he tells me he has a customer to take care of. I hung up. I get it if he has a customer but he didn't need to yell at me . I'm walking with a cane. I have a disability. I needed his help and he kept yelling at me that I should come with another person. So I had already called the police to help me get out of the elevator so I could load up my car and leave. I am going to report this to the manager. Was never notified about this increase, nor was I shown anything on an email where invoices are also sent so I emailed them. Never heard back after a week and when I called was told a physical letter was mailed back in May. I also asked for a credit because this was outrageous. Never did I receive a letter because I would have made a quick decision to cancel & find another storage place. Like many writing with the same issue on Yelp, not only is this price hike absurd but also seems illegal. Still waiting to hear back from Management US Storage Centers regarding this matter as I was told.
