Daniel was outstanding throughout the initiation process. He was friendly and helpful from beginning to end, providing clear information about how the storage units were rented and the payment procedures. He made the experience smoother by personally guiding me to the storage units, ensuring I was completely satisfied with my choice. Thank you, Daniel! Stephanie was also very supportive and consistently pleasant in her communication and assistance with my storage needs. Thanks, Steph! Sam SakGen Electric & Lighting (Owner). read more

Without question the best storage experience I've ever had. My family has 5 units in the building, and I am looking to rent 2 more. The place is always very clean and Daniel has been more than hospitable when I have asked for various favors. EXAMPLE: he knew that I was buying another space, so he had me wait a few days till a closer one became available. This saved me a whole lot of time. I will always refer people to this storage because of the service. There are cheaper places but you get what you pay for. Go see Daniel. read more

Great service, clean, super easy and helpful. Daniel (Manager) was prompt and efficient and answered all my questions and concerns and appears to run a tight ship. read more

I've never used their storage facility. We came here to rent a U-Haul. The process was easy. While waiting for the paperwork to be completed, I walked around and noticed all the interesting things you can purchase. Didn't realize there was such an art to storing your belongings when moving stuff!! There were several different sizes of U-Hauls. The price is reasonable as long as you bring back the U-Haul in the same gas condition as when you rented it. read more

This is my second time using Allen Avenue Storage. The staff Frank and Stephanie were both very helpful and provided me with a few options regarding the size I needed. They both are very knowledgeable and provided outstanding customer service. Great place to rent, prices are reasonable, facility is clean and staff is outstanding. Thank you read more

We've experienced an odd array of service at this location...and by "odd", I mean, "weird and some times wacky"...and by that, ultimately, I mean that it's has been both entertaining and slightly irritating. Rather than go into the details of various personalities at this storage facility, I'll focus on the straight dirt: Renting a truck to move items was a snap! We are decently happy with our rate given the space (and as happy as one can be paying to store all their crap!) Location and accessibility couldn't be easier (and we've had to make several trips back since getting set up). I like at least 60% of the personalities there. So, two stars missing for: inconsistency of service & never having received our first billing statement. In fact, we were only made aware of the invoice when we received a call to let us know that our payment was woefully LATE! Secondly, we DID receive an invoice, just with someone elses' name and unit #. So, that happened. To make sure that never happens again, I signed up for auto payment online. Sometimes, you just gotta grab the reins. From what I've read about other bigger named companies, I would definitely still recommend them over everyone else! read more

I received awesome customer service from this facility; the staff is superb. Joey and Alex were helpful but Jacey was the best... He handled renting me a uhaul and also guiding me in moving my things. I appreciate how comfortable he made the whole transaction and the ease of mind he gave me, as moving is a headache to begin with...lol. If anyone is looking for a great storage and/or uhaul rental place that is very knowledgeable and simple... you have to use Allen Avenue....they are spectacular.... read more

Allen Ave Self storage is fantastic. My moving company kept messing things up (and stressing me out) so I had to constantly rearrange my plans with Jeremy (mgr) at Allen Ave Self Storage. Not once was anything a problem. Jeremy and his crew made it so easy to move in. I can't thank them enough for making my moving day much easier. read more

I had the best customer service and experience here. I had rented a uhaul then had chose another storage site just based off of deals online but it ended up not being what I hoped. So I hurried back to Allen Avenue to see if they had any available units for a decent price and Melanie the property manager was super helpful and quick to show us the units, inform us of the process/locks, etc. They even didn't overcharge me for returning the uhaul a little late because of the location switch. Super glad I chose them both for uhaul and Storage unit services. read more

Allen avenue storage is a great choice. They have lots of option for you to choose from. The staff is helpful and really accommodating. I was moving my things in and it was closing time and the lady at the desk allowed me to finish even though it was going to be after the cut off time. It's really convenient access just off of the freeway so you can get right in and out quickly. read more

THE WORST SERVICE I've ever had!! Doesn't care about their customers at all!! Stay away from this horrible incompetent place! The manager Melanie is incompetent and unprofessional. Doesn't know how to do her job and asked me how to do her job? What kind of customer service is this! How can this company even be standing and have multiple locations? They need to train their staff and especially their managers better! Don't trust them with holding a storage unit for you because they will give it away in a heart beat as they did to us in the pouring rain. Yes unbelievable that they did that to their customers! How immoral is that, they're money hungry and again don't care about their customers! read more

Allen Avenue SELF STORAGE IS SOOO CONVIENT FOR ME ...I use to live up the street. Ashley is a Sweetheart and very friendly ... and that's not even talking about the efficient and very Handsome Jeremy!!! Allen Avenue Self Storage is the BEST!!! I have used storage areas in different parts of the country. This is by far the best. The place is clean, the location is perfect and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Frank at the front desk provided me with extraordinary service. I highly recommend Allen Ave! read more

We, like N N below, also used Allen Ave Self Storage for our move some time back and we ended up renting a truck from Allen Avenue Self Storage since they were so close. No issues..pretty easy process, pleasant enough service....we were in and out....not too shabby. WAY better than our experience with the Pasadena U-Haul (on Raymond) read more

I've been doing business with Allen Avenue Self Storage for about 2 years now and so far, I have been happy with their services. They provide 3 different services at this location and I have tried all 3 --- they have their storage services (duh), but they are also a U-Haul rental and drop off location and they also have private mailboxes here. Storage Services: Good location and secure facility. When you rent a room, you get your own custom gate code you choose yourself. Call around for prices and they can usually meet the prices with other competitors. I love that they have probably the best hours in the area (7a-7p EVERY day, whereas most locations have shorter hours on the weekends). I have even referred my mother-in-law here, who still rents from them. You can also go to their website and pay your bill online that way, how convenient! U-Haul: Their U-Haul sign is not big so it might be hard to see if that's what you're looking for. Just remember: big, red, brick building! Service here is WAAAY better than the U-Haul on Raymond location. When renting a U-Haul here, you are getting Triple A (AAA) service, while at the Raymond location, you get DMV service :-( No long waits and good selection of cars to choose from. Just make sure that when you are returning something you didn't specifically rent from this location, call in advance because they may not have space and can't take it back. That's happened to me before. Private Mailboxes: Been using their PMB services here for a while now and I am happy with it. Prices are good and if you pay in advance (6 months or 1 year), you get like 1-2 months free. If you get big packages from UPS or FedEx, the staff even calls you and lets you know you have a package :-) Staff: They're great! Friendly and helpful. Must give a shout out to the peeps that gives me extra good service -- Jacey, Marie and Norman are super nice! The others are new so I don't know much about them. read more

The staff aren't very friendly here. Last week, we rented and returned a uhaul from this location. The lady behind the counter tried to claim we hit the metal fence in the front which we did not as proven by the absence of any damage on the fence or to the truck. read more

Most of the Negative Reviews are edited out of this section..I know that for a fact, so don't depend upon the Reviews listed here...Rates here are subject to 15-20% raises at any time, whenever the Parent Company decides they want to raise them..That is a fact too...And if you protest, you will be EVICTED without any reason..and only 10 days Notice..end of the matter...just how they do business..Sorry to say. .The Consumer deserves to be fore warned.. read more

We have come to this location several times, every time we move and need a moving truck and storage. They have excellent service, by far the best! We will continue to come and strongly recommend this place. read more

Allen Avenue Self Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Pasadena, California

I only have praise for employees Brandon and Frank; both very professional and courteous. I rented a cargo van, and Brandon made sure the van was clean. He saw dirt was left by a previous customer, so he immediately swept and wiped the cargo area. When I returned the van, Frank was friendly and showed great integrity. When he saw that I put in a lot more gas more than when I when I first took the van, he gave me a small discount I didn't expect. This makes me want to be a repeat customer and to recommend this place to others. These two employees are top notch. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the parking is extremely limited there on premises. read more

Great location friendly staff and a good selection of vehicles. I will not take my business anywhere else. read more

Clean, good hours, friendly people. All good, so far. Problems arise when things aren't what they expect: like 2 units being paid with one check (took several MONTHS to get that mess straightened out), auto-add insurance, except they call it "protection" so they don't have to register with the commissioner, and very absentee ownership, so if Jaycee can't help you, it's just too bad. When we got the notice that they were upping the rates again this year another 6%, and snuck back in the insurance, we bailed on one unit, and later this summer we'll be out entirely. read more

I was referred by a friend when mentioning that I needed a storage unit to check out Allen Ave Self Storage, am I glad I did! Brandon was my first contact here and he was friendly and showed me a few units, after deciding on a unit he reserved one for me. Frank was also great and friendly, after a couple visits I signed up for the unit Brandon showed me and couldn't be happier. Very clean, great location and 1 stop shop for all of your moving needs. Thank you Ashley for all of your help every time we have a question or concern. The facility is clean and quiet, and very secure. The rental rates are reasonable for both trucks and storage. read more

Allen Avenue was incredibly accommodating of my first time renting a storage space. You're not 'just another paying customer' of a corporate behemoth. It's personalized 'family-like' service. This is my first ever experience with a self storage facility so I have no reference for comparison. Just from the standpoint of meeting my needs I have to give them high marks. We are selling our home and needed some temporary storage on fairly short notice. The facility is a little over a mile from me. The rental process was quick and straightforward. They sell all the moving supplies I need. They have rental trucks on site. Carts are made available for moving items into and out of storage unit. I'm happy with my experience here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the facility. read more

This storage will not let you store food in boxes or bags, but canned food is ok, therefore NO rats! NO bugs! it is very clean! They have airconditioned and un airconditioned units, but those buildings do have automatic fans that come on when the temperature hits 80 degrees. I have had stuff stored in both kinds of units for years and no rat pee or ants in my stuff, ever. They provide hand trucks and dollies for you. Their prices are very reasonable, so if you care about your stuff, store it here Also, their pod prices can't be beat. read more

After a long day of moving, we went to drop off the uhaul here at Allen Storage. The lady behind the counter, Kim said to us, did you guys forget the mattress pads? I said that's right it was us, did you charge us? She wasn't sure but she goes out to inspect the uhaul. She took the miles off the unit and told my sister to park in the back. She came back and said, you guys have hand trucks and moving blankets? I said yes, it's in the back. She walks back out and have my sister go back and get them out. When she came back, I asked her if she can refund us the mattress bag since we never took possession of them. She was rude and said no refunds. I said possession is 9/10 the law. You can't charge someone something if they never took possession. $5 isn't a big deal. It's how you treat someone. What kind of experience one has determines whether someone will go back and do business. She was so rude, funny thing is the office in the back has picture frame with words like success and achieve. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS. $5 is not of value. It's the way a person treats you read more

Left me on hold for 10 minutes then gave me attitude when I called back and complained

In August of 2007, I thoroughly researched storage units close to my home in Eagle Rock. I had sold my house and was going to be traveling quite a bit. I was impressed with Allen Avenue and their commitment to customer service, and their assurances that this was a family company. Two years later, in August of 2009, I discovered moths had eaten through some woolens in one of my garment boxes. I brought this to the attention of the manager. He assured me that the building would be treated by Dewey Pest Control. When I returned to New York, where I am currently living, I followed up and was told that the Pest Control had sprayed. On Tuesday, May 25th, I traveled out to Pasadena with Scott Hill to rearrange my boxes for my upcoming permanent move to New York. I wanted to get the unit in an orderly fashion for the moving company whereupon both myself & Mr. Hill discovered a complete moth infestation in one of my carpets. Upon removal to the outer area to inspect we found the carpet to be completely destroyed. There were moths in my mattresses, the couch and other items. When I complained to Mr. Lawson, he deflected my concern, called the pest control and deemed it my fault - or rather - the fault of the carpet. He told me that the pest control had been limited to the outside of the building. I can honestly say that when I resided in Eagle Rock, I did not have a moth problem. There were no moths present in the first two years of my rental at Allen Avenue Storage. Although I was credited half a month for my lost clothing in August of '09, it now seems that the infestation is my fault. I was won over by the company's pledge for customer service, and now I feel very disappointed in this so called service. This facility has MOTHS. DO NOT STORE YOUR GOODS HERE. read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star. I called to reserve a uhaul truck from here about 4 days in advanced. I asked if they were open on Monday 9-1-14 (Labor Day), the lady said yes, so I made the reservation for 11:30 am that Monday. Went there and the place was closed!!! What the....I called them and no one answered the phone. Not good business, especially when I got a text message AND a call confirming the appointment. I'd love to know what went wrong. That left my boyfriend and I searching for a last minute rental because we had to move the remaining things out of our old place. read more

We rented a truck on Wednesday, April 24th. It was the perfect experience. I made the reservation on line. They called on Tuesday morning to confirm for Wednesday. They thought I wanted the truck at noon and I explained that I needed it at 9. The guy said no problem. We arrived at 9 and the man behind the counter was helping someone else who wanted a truck in the future and he asked him very politely to wait while he helped us. I was impressed with that. We were in and out of there in no time and we had a brand new truck that was a pleasure to drive. All around great experience and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. This is probably the 4th truck we have rented in the last 5 years and we have always been pleased with who we have dealt with. The obviously care about their customers. read more

Very clean facility. Staff are all friendly and helpful. You can rent your U-Haul right there. No complaints.
