Boulder Baked is my go-to comfort food place. Their Veggie Chilli and Cheese Head sandwiches are perfect for any mood, any weather, any occasion. Topped with a delicious cupcake or a warm cookie dessert. Perfect place to drop by for the late night munchies after some drinks in the bars around. Even though they close at midnight, they have served as late as 12.45 to me, which I really appreciated on that cold night! The owners are pretty chilled out too. Nothing special for the price. More flavorless cupcakes and the gluten free ones taste like hummus. I really don't think anyone knows what good food tastes like anymore. I grew up in the south with my Mom, Grandma and Aunts all making everything from scratch and lots of old fashioned cakes included! Bakeries these days are just sad in comparison. read more

This place was recommended by the locals but they failed to tell us the cookies are baked to order, which was a pleasant surprise! I ordered a shake over the phone and was there in about 5-7 mins to pick it up. Boulder Baked was packed (as usual on any Saturday night). I paid and waited, because being in the food service industry myself, I know it can be a little bit for all of the staff to all get on the same footing and unfluster themselves in a rush. I waited about 30 mins..still no shake. I told a tall blonde guy that I had been waiting a while, and to his surprise, nobody had told him I was there to begin with. He apologized, gave me a credit for half a shake for next time, AND a free brownie along with my shake. Me and my sister were walking around Boulder the other day. I had already known about Tee & Cakes but never got to try it...this trip I did and...was not impressed. After walking around for awhile we headed back to the car and out of the corner of my eye I saw "cupcakes" on a window. I immediately went in and was a little surprised because it was definitely not the prettiest of places but I went for it anways. Man am I glad I did. We got the red velvet cupcake and omg it was AWESOME!! I have been to many cupcakes shops in Colorado and I have to say this was on of the best cupcakes I have had!! Moist and great frosting.... Some of the worst service I've ever received in Boulder. Ordered a box of 16 and over an hour later called to ask what the ETA was. Staff member on the phone was rude and said that the error was our fault and on us and said she was looking at the order and we failed to put in a complex number for housing. this was incorrect because when I looked at the email their delivery services sent to me, all information was properly listed. Each number on each building is clearly labeled and I believe Boulder baked is too incompetent and to lazy to actually look for an apartment (they are clearly labeled). Never ordering from here again. This is the 3rd time we've had an issue in 6 month. Incredibly rude and lazy staff. read more

The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because they used to have chicken pot pie, apple pie, and chicken noodle soup on the menu - but no longer!! Why?? Cupcakes are $2.50 and are worth the delivery time wait or the hop down near Pearl Street. Their delivery order minimum is $10 with at least $6 in baked goods. And the delivery fee is only $1 They deliver until at least 1 am every night of the week and are perfect for late night chocolate cravings! The cookies are great. Sometimes a little skimpy on ingredients, for instance if you have a white choc macadamia nut then there might not be a lot of nuts or white chocolate. That's 1-star off. The other star removal is for delivery. I've ordered delivery twice, and both times it takes them over an hour to deliver a dozen cookies a 3 minute drive from their location. It's not the driver, it's the time from order to sending them out, it takes them an hour from order until sending out the cookies. That's ridiculously slow, so they will be losing my business when I can't make it up there myself because waiting over an hour for cookies is pathetic speed of service. read more

My only complaint is that they aren't open until four which is problematic when combined with the addictive qualities of their delicious products. The cupcakes and cookies are pretty good when they are stocked. I much as I liked to order cookies from here I will not again. While waiting in line to get cookies I saw an employee drop an unbaked cookie on the ground and stick it in the oven bake it for a young girl's order. I also saw employees use the cash register, take money, and then proceeded to make cookies without washing their hands. I ordered a delivery of a sandwich and a drink, the delivery driver showed up 3 hours later (yes 3!) with only my drink. It was too late for him to go back and get it since he took so long to deliver, so he said I would be credited the sandwich for a later date. The next day I called and asked them to deliver my sandwich but they said they couldnt deliver without an additional purchase since it was a free sandwich. Legitimately the worst delivery service in town. Expect at the very least to be waiting for an hour and a half. I'm 2 blocks from them, I received an email notifying me that the food was on its way (an hour after I ordered), and the food arrived cold 40 minutes after that, and part of it wasn't at all what I had ordered but something I was allergic too, AWESOME SERVICE!!! They were completely incapable of handling my complaint when I called (no way am I waiting another hour for them to send the replacement). Wish they would close. read more
