Stopped by as a recommendation from our Airbnb host. As a bread lover, this place was 10/10 for me. They have a variety of pastries and if I could, I would have gotten one of everything the pecan cinnamon roll was crispy and tasted light and fresh from the orange. The loving cacao wasn't that sweet and overpowering with the lavender syrup. The inside of the store feels very cozy. Would definitely come back on my next visit. read more

We love coming to Moxie. Their breads, cookies, bakery goods and coffee is very good. Our favorite is the California Sourdough bread. We picked one up every week. We love that they sell the flours they mill and even give out sourdough starter. They also have premade entrees, sides, fresh veges, and soups. Everyone who works there is so nice and helpful. Nice to sit down and sip your coffee while watching the people come by and go. They share the space with a very nice florist that's sells an amazing assortment of plants, flowers and gifts. Definitely a place to check out when in Boulder! read more

Delicious, locally owned bakery. Service was very friendly and accommodating, I just got my wisdom teeth out and they were very considerate when recommending food that wouldn't disrupt the recovery. Rhubarb orange danish thingie was incredible and the king egg was delicious. Very whimsical and grounded vibe, already gone back. read more

I like their croissants, but they are always a shade too dark for perfection. Louisville seems to do a better job of producing their baked goods, nothing is ever burnt or hard as a rock. Also Louisville's pastries are larger all around so a better buy and experience. Wish Boulder Moxie would pull their good out when they are golden and not so dark. I know several people who do not go there bc of the this and it is such a simple fix. Shamane's croissants are the perfect color as a point of comparison. read more

This place is special and their products are worth every penny you spend there. Their raisin bread is worth getting up early to grab a loaf before they sell out, their salads are delicious as are their sandwiches, and they have a ginger cooking and a pecan cinnamon role to die for. The service is friendly, and the ambiance fascinating. I will be doing part of my Christmas shopping there. read more

I have been to Moxie in Louisville a few times, but it is quite a ride from the west side of Boulder. I finally got a chance to go out to the smaller, newer location in North Boulder. Not nearly as close as I would like but definitely easier than Louisville. The tradeoff is that it is a MUCH smaller location so be prepared. If you are, you certainly can find many tasty treats, just a smaller selection and fewer in the case. But they are still wonderful. We went this morning and we each found a perfect choice. I got a kouign amman with lemon curd and my husband got danish with raspberry and lemon and maybe (?) some nuts. It was his, not mine but I got a crumb of taste. In addition to the pastry line, there is a refrigerator case with sandwiches in wait, one that seemed perfect to me at a later date. On another shelf were some salads, again, at least one to be sampled another time. They also have a lot of breads. Since this location is near their grain mill, bags of flour of several different grains are available if you bake your own. There are tools and bowls for making your own and many things that can be gift items for bakers. There is even a small selection of jewelry and fabric items too. No doubt at all, we will be back here again. I will still choose Louisville if I need a bigger volume or selection but for just us, on an ordinary day, this would be my choice. And know, this is one case where the nearby parking is better in Boulder than it is in Louisville! read more

Moxie you are legendary! I'd eagerly frequent this location regularly if you opened a tad earlier... For those of us who begin most our days in the world before 9, it's not do-able to indulge in a King Egg or Kouign-Amann from the NoBo location, ever, unfortunately. I work with a team on remote outdoor sites in Greater Boulder and would happily treat them to your sumptuous goods frequently even if you opened at 8.. food for thought! as cinnamon roll lovers we came for only one thing. a delicious, nutritious, and superstitious spiral of cinnamon sugar and creamy frosting. NGL moxie disappointed us. we came in searching for the secret sauce of boulder and left the building with food on the plate and sadness in our stomachs. the flaky cinnamon roll was akin to boxcars in its croissant like consistency. however, the frosting and the crunchiness was not up to par. the exterior of the roll was subjected to too much heat, creating an overly crunchy barrier to the soft gooey goodness that every cinnamon roll lover seeks. additionally, the frosting played too heavily into its orange peel roots. the bittersweet orange flavor stole the show and detracted from what makes cinnamon rolls great- a delicious, sweet, and balanced bite that keeps you coming back. overall this escapade was not enjoyed as much as expected. to further my point they could not warm up the roll, which could have been its saving grace. unfortunately, they only had a panini press. not suited for someone with a cinnamon roll lifestyle. overall, we are forced to give moxies cinnamon roll a 3.6/10. thank you for your time. read more

Incredible bakery. We tried the molasses cookie, the vegan oats cookie, sourdough loaf and the apple pastry. Everything was excellent (I ended up eating both cookies on the drive back to the city- couldn't wait!). The loaf is quite large and has an excellent crust and soft interior. Service was fast and the employees were friendly. Loved the "order ahead" option. read more

I just saw the worst customer service at Moxie. A woman came back in a snowstorm to tell them that the Reuben she bought for her kids was mostly all fat and not much edible meat at all. And that her kids wouldn't eat it. And brought it in to show them. And the mangers said I'll let them know. I don't know what you want me to do. How about comping her, how about saying I'm sorry? She came back in a damn snowstorm to tell them. Makes me reconsider coming here. read more

I love the new Boulder location and hope they get coffee soon. It's a great stop if you're a cyclist and an exciting addition to the North Boulder neighborhood. Seating would be a nice addition too! read more

Since Moxie has moved into Boulder we are visiting 2 or 3 times a week! I think everyone knows about their amazing pastries but we really appreciate their breads. They have many version of sour dough and their spelt bread is especially loved by my wife as she is wheat sensitive and the spelt bread does not bother her. We also appreciate that the folks working at the front desk are very helpful and know alot about the breads and the grains they use in each of them. So whether it's a great pastry or a healthy loaf of bread your looking for you can't go wrong with Moxie! read more

Hearty healthy bread that is also very crusty which i prefer i do wish their sourdough was more tangy but perhaps that's what most locals prefer since I've tried 4 diff stores and the loaves aren't that tangy either. I love this place! The breads are delicious! And they carry so many different products. I also love the za'atar pita chips as well as the flourless brownies (that are to die for!). If you absolutely need something, it's always best to call ahead and have them hold it for you. read more

I typically do not leave reviews but felt like I needed to provide feedback. I went to the store today and got European dark rye bread. It appeared pretty hard to the touch, they told me that it was supposed to be like that. I asked if they could slice it for me and they refused, stating that it goes against their philosophy. After I got home, I tried cutting a slice and almost broke my knife, that's how hard that bread was. The bread crust looked burned to me and I don't know how they can expect anyone to chew it and not break their teeth. I've tried different types of bread before, including the ones that looked similar to this one and let me tell you that the bread never should look and feel like a brick. I feel it's a big liability to sell bread like that. If someone cuts their finger while trying to slice the bread or breaks their tooth. read more
