cinnamon roll - A person with messy fingers, likely from eating a cinnamon roll, holds the remaining piece of the pastry in a foam container on a wooden table. The person's arms and part of their torso are visible, with a yellow shirt and a bracelet on one wrist. The background shows a wooden floor and furniture.

as cinnamon roll lovers we came for only one thing. a delicious, nutritious, and superstitious spiral of cinnamon sugar and creamy frosting. NGL moxie disappointed us. we came in searching for the secret sauce of boulder and left the building with food on the plate and sadness in our stomachs. the flaky cinnamon roll was akin to boxcars in its croissant like consistency. however, the frosting and the crunchiness was not up to par. the exterior of the roll was subjected to too much heat, creating an overly crunchy barrier to the soft gooey goodness that every cinnamon roll lover seeks. additionally, the frosting played too heavily into its orange peel roots. the bittersweet orange flavor stole the show and detracted from what makes cinnamon rolls great- a delicious, sweet, and balanced bite that keeps you coming back. overall this escapade was not enjoyed as much as expected. to further my point they could not warm up the roll, which could have been its saving grace. unfortunately, they only had a panini press. not suited for someone with a cinnamon roll lifestyle. overall, we are forced to give moxies cinnamon roll a 3.6/10. thank you for your time.

Apple pastry - A pastry featuring a crumbly topping and apple filling is held in a person's hand. The pastry appears baked with a golden-brown crust and visible apple pieces inside. The background is plain and neutral, emphasizing the pastry's texture and appearance.

Incredible bakery. We tried the molasses cookie, the vegan oats cookie, sourdough loaf and the apple pastry. Everything was excellent (I ended up eating both cookies on the drive back to the city- couldn't wait!). The loaf is quite large and has an excellent crust and soft interior. Service was fast and the employees were friendly. Loved the "order ahead" option.

shelves of bread and baskets - The image shows a corner of a rustic interior with wooden flooring and a wooden ceiling. Metal shelves hold brown paper packages, and a guitar is placed on a window ledge. A wooden chair with hanging textiles and a small basket with yarn are present, along with three decorative gourds on the floor near the window. A lantern hangs from the ceiling, adding to the cozy, rustic atmosphere.

We did not realize their sandwiches are pre-made at this location. So we're headed to the one in Louisville.

It's a stand alone building and was originally built as a neighborhood grocery in 1932. It has also been a a convenience store and a short lived food coop. The current us is the best it has been since I moved here 50 years ago. It was such a good model that a second location was built over in Twenty Ninth Street at the end of the pandemic when the Peets coffee space was empty. The nice thing about the Hill location is that most customers come on foot or bicycle since there is only a little street park it. If you just come by car, please be courteous to the local neighbors who must use the street for their own cars too. The coffee bar is extremely popular but they also have teas and some sodas and bottled drinks and casual non alcoholic drinks. The kitchen serves brunch and lunch style foods from classic toasts and eggs , bowls of various sorts but the kitchen closes at 3 pm and the doors close at 4. My favorite item here has always been the blueberry ricotta toast but it was dropped last fall. So sad as I know others should like to see it come back too. But though I had a classic avocado toast with a busing friend yesterday. I went with a bowl today and as u hoped I will get 2 lunches out of it. They have also slimmed the menu this year as the kitchen is really small. They have fine tuned the bowls to include aspects of two. Today I ordered the Green Goddess Grain bowl so the best and healthiest forming of two worlds. I walked down for the takeout so I could eat at home with my own drink. They also have an app so it can be ready when yo arrive. The seating is ample in good weather like today but it can also be crowded as it attracts remote workers as they have phenomenal WiFi here. It's been a real asset to the neighborhood as well as visitors too. Even though the original owner has moved, the current owner has been involved since the beginning.

We ordered a reuben sandwich and that came with a free muffin and an egg-avacado stack - which comes on an open-face toasted bread of your choice, with spread, egg over easy and avacado. Delicious comfort food and quick service. Staff are super friendly. This place gives off an artesnal vibe. They make their own bread right in the shop and sell it fresh everyday... but at $15/loaf we found it to be a bit pricey for a regular loaf of bread.

I was early for a pickup nearby and was so hoping the famous cinnamon roll would still be here…read more It's been sold a few times since Scott and Sally retired. The newer owners had simply not kept it "original" and faultless as it had been since the Creevy's opened in 1983. And yes, I was there then. When I walked in, it felt and smelled like the past. The cinnamon rolls were on a display table right out front and cleanly wrapped. They looked just like they used to. I picked a standard cinnamon as the walnut raisin is a lot more expensive than it used to be ( aside is everything in the world) but often more unpredictable in baked goodness since the store was sold the first time. As soon as I got home, I shared some with my husband though he had not been the cinnamon roll addict, I had been. Unvleievably, it was like stepping back in time. Scott and Sally would be proud of this iteration. It may have actually been their own recipe from those early years where individual stores made the basic breads and then branched out for their local market and personal skills. I'm sure so many of these specialty items which I never saw in the few Great Harvests in other states, I ever tried. It's a 5 star item in a place where I will give the shop a 4 for now until I try some other things. The wonderful brownies are on display here too, as well as so many of the cookies and breads I will sample in the future. I will ask next time if they still make the incredible lemon bars which was also a Creevy recipe I believe. It's definitely worth adding back to my shopping options. I see so many of the negative reviews are just for the sandwich service, not the bakery. I am unlikely to use that for so many other options I encounter across Boulder these days are all so reliably good, I cannot abandon them.
