So, I've been hearing about Bosa Donuts at work for awhile now, but as I don't consider myself a donut person and typically try and watch my girlish figure, I haven't given them a whirl.... until... NOW. The Hubs and I happen to be in the Glendale area Saturday afternoon and pass by. As we did, I said, "Bosa Donuts... I hear those are good." He practically insisted we stop that instant, as they really are that good. Ok, so it was Saturday around 2pm. Not sure they had their typical selection out, but I got a coconut cinnamon topped donut and the Hubs got a twisty one. As soon as we got into the car we opened the bag and started stuffing our faces. HOLLY MOLEY! The airy, sweet, fresh, goodness permeated the car. It took everything in my power to save a piece to enjoy later. These babies were so awesome... thank god this place isn't closer to our house... that would be disastrous to my aforementioned girlish figure (which would be nonexistent if I had access to these gems regularly). Delicious donuts! Walked in and got a dozen mixed donuts. They were all fresh and delicious. We especially liked the apple fritters and buttermilk bars. Oh, those buttermilk bars! ...Like no donut I've ever tasted. It's as if a buttermilk biscuit and a glazed cake donut got together and had a giant baby. It is not a light snack. It is a donut entree. So good. It was so refreshing to find donuts with personality and not bland donuts that are sometimes on the stale side like at our local DD. This is the first donut shop I've been too as an adult and I gotta say I am very pleased and satisfied I came here.. WARNING: fresh ,fresh, fresh & yummy donuts!! & Fast friendly service. Feeling sorry for myself, I needed a pick me up & decided to get some donuts. I pulled into Bosa & it was empty, probably because it was noon & normal people usually get donuts in the morning. I loved the lady working behind the counter, she was so sweet! Any way, I got half a dozen donuts, a croissant & small bottle of milk. Total for everything was less than $8. I went home for lunch & my hubby was there so he sampled the donuts with me. His favs were the glazed & sugar coated. My favs were the chocolate long john & cinnamon roll. I like donuts but I rarely eat them, I had decided to get some for a office party and this store was right in my way so I decided to give it a try (seen it for years) instead of going out of my way to dunkin donuts. It's part of a small AZ based chain but this location (like all the others I've noticed) is family owned and that's always a big plus. So the donuts, WOW, so many different varieties, such great low prices and if you're there early and it's still in stock, grab a cinnamon CRUMB donut and donut hole. I've tried another location but this one has better prices and more variety. Their buttermilk donut (cake?) is incredible, it's heavy like a brick and so soft and sweet I've never had more than half and it's so good. I've been coming to this Bosa donuts for years. I not only think that Bosa has the best donuts in town, but I also think that this specific Bosa is better than all the other Bosas, which is really saying something. I've actually driven past other Bosas to come to this specific location at Glendale & 35th. You can't go wrong with their classic glazed donuts or their Boston Creme with just the right proportion of chocolate and custard cream. I came in here originally to prove to my sister that hole-in-the-wall donut shops are far better than processed donuts and after taking her here she was certainly convinced. Bosa is a smaller place and didn't have any other customers when we went. There was your typical choices of donuts here, my personal favorites being their cake donut and their chocolate donut sprinkled with peanuts. The person working there was really nice and inside the shop it was clean and surprisingly not shady, considering the area its located in. This place has its own small parking lot and wasn't hard to access. I would definitely recommend stopping by here if you get a donut craving- only if you're in the area though. Appearance wise, I'd give the donuts a 9 out of 10 but taste wise I was disappointed. I had a glazed buttermilk and cinnamon roll. Glazed buttermilk was very oily on the inside and the glaze was too sweet. The cinnamon roll taste was rather blah. I come here once a week to indulge in a Boston Cream doughnut. Oh, let me tell you...their version is heavenly! The dough is pillowy and fresh. Let me start by saying I have been to the 35th ave and glendale location numerous times without incident. I always prefer to shop local with mom and pop stores, especially now with covid19 putting small businesses in a tough position. I was in the store today getting a peach and cream smoothie. The lady at the counter forgot and had us repeat it back. Tipped $2 for courtesy. When we received the smoothie I noticed it was a dark color which didnt seem like a peach color but I figured she knew what she was doing. Got to my car and tasted it and realized she made a cookies and cream smoothie. I know we repeated the order twice so i was perplexed. I thought, no worriesmistakes happen. Went back into the store to advise I ordered a peach and cream, not a cookies and cream smoothie and she refused to take it back or exchange it. She said since it was already made there is nothing they can do and won't be replacing it. I was dumb founded. So you made a mistake and expect the customer to pay for something they didnt order? Im a very easy person to get along with. I have run businesses and this is in no way a professional or reasonable response. They are willing to lose a long time customer over a mistake they made. They need to take ownership of their error and do the right thing for their customers. It will cost you more in the long run to lose a long time customer than it is to replace the smoothie with was was actually ordered. Very very disappointing.
