came in around 5pm for patatas when it was pretty empty. sat in the main room near the open door which had a nice breeze. we only ordered patatas bravas and it was delicious. there was a slight spicy kick to it. price was very reasonable (6 euros for this plate)

We came here for our first tapas in Barcelona and loved it. It felt very local despite having menus in a few languages. We did see another tourist but it seemed far more of a local spot than anything else and prices were very reasonable. We had three tapas - the aubergine & goat cheese, the meatballs, and the chorizo in cider. The aubergine and goat cheese was delicious. The aubergine could've been grilled a bit more for stronger texture but the goat cheese was amazing. Warm and delicious. The chorizo in cider was good, perhaps a bit standard, but it had a ton of chorizo. And just cuz it's a bit standard doesn't mean it wasn't very tasty. The meatballs were maybe my favourite. They came in a really intersting oniony sauce that had some green herbs, something liek that. It was really good though. Very good and highly recommended.

We were walking around trying to burn off the jet lag and found ourselves in an older part of town. We stopped at a few places and they all asked for reservations so we kept going till we found this place. The service was outstanding. It's not a fancy place but it was old and full of history. The food was delicious and the wine was really good for the price!! I will visit this place again for sure

Bormuth was my favorite tapas restaurant while in Barcelona; it is tucked away in the Gothic District away from tourist traps and serves the best food. My favorite items from Bourmuth was the white sangria and the steak tartar. The white sangria is dangerously delicious and refreshing - everything down to the fruit was perfection. The steak tartare is also amazing - two pretty big pieces of bread perfectly toasted topped with a generous serving of perfectly spiced steak. My friend and I also shared tomato bread, papas bravas, fried peppers and the eggplant with honey dish. Total cost for all this food was ~40€. Highly recommend this place for tapas.

We ate here on a Sunday night and were seated upstairs on the balcony overseeing the dining area. They don't accept the Yelp Check-in anymore which was unfortunate. Most of the costumers seemed to be travelers with a couple of locals mixed in. Overall had a good experience but wasn't blown away with the food. Ambience was nice and the place was packed. Service was fast and the food came quickly. Sangria- tasted good and reasonably priced Manchego and almonds- my friend said the cheese was good. The portion size was very big and was way too much for two people. We should have ordered the manchego and ham instead. Eggplant and Honey- This tapas had a very interesting and unique taste. I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but my friend really enjoyed it. Highly recommend trying this dish! Secreto Iberico- ehh, it was good but only came with 4 small pieces of meat and a couple of roasted peppers. Pan con Tomato - decent but nothing to rave about. Would recommend skipping this dish and try something else!

I really enjoyed this spot for my first tapas in the city. The waitstaff was very friendly. I got the croquettes, aubergine with goat cheese and a local IPA. Everything was delicious and I enjoyed eating in the little balcony area where I could people watch. Price was affordable. A great welcome to Barcelona.

Good food and nice environment. It was nice the they have an English and Spanish menu and waiters do speak English.

Exceeded expectations. The place went from a low hum late afternoon to a pleasant local hubbub within an hour. Great service. Tasty food. I could easily have stayed the night. After checking in I had a pop-up freebie vermut courtesy of Yelp - which just happened to be my drink of choice. Thank you god! I started with the fried patron peppers. Crunchy, salty and savoury. Great appetiser. Followed up with the black pudding and roasted red peppers. Peppers were amazing, I could taste cinnamon and smoke, a perfect compliment to the black pudding. Black pudding was soft and yielded to a fork. Forkable? The highlight of my time here. I gilded the lily with a serve of the cuttlefish grilled. A nice dish, but too much too late. In hindsight I should have tried the breaded eggplant with honey.

Nice little spot that has an extensive beer menu. Most places nearby have one or two max. The coquettes have a nice crunch to them. The gazpacho is a welcome surprise.

The absolute highlight of our trip to Barcelona. We went there 4 times in the span of 6 days. We had several of those warm, fuzzy, near-tearful experiences there that are honestly priceless. Even their €3.1 house wine is painfully better than anything the States has to offer. The calamari, the patatas bravas, and the aubergine with miel had us crawling back like some type of addicts...and on our last day there, we realized how badly we had screwed up by not getting the jamon y queso from the beginning. We hope they will be open the next time we come to Barcelona.

Cyndy's Bottom Line: You get what you pay for..... Stopped in for a drink and tapas. Service non attentive. Help yourself to plates, utensils napkins if you'll like to use them while eating. This is what we ate/drank: Vermouth Beer on tap A glass of Chardonnay *Manchego cheese and almonds - the cheese was a bit dry and the almonds were ok. *Cod fish fritters - tasty but very oily as if it was not drained. *Chorizo - nice and salty.

Eggplant with goat cheese, white sardines with olives, and ham croquettes.

Great recommendation from a local Barceleno. A bit crowded at 1030 pm, but I was accommodated immediately. Warm staff, some English spoken. Authentic tapas. Great taste, reasonable prices and accommodating wait staff. Joyful atmosphere with no "attitude."

    Sangria de cava
    Irina R.

Actually, the food here is really tasty. The portions are generous and you can get full by two tapas. I had peppers with goat cheese, patatas bravas and sangria de cava, which comes in a huge glass with apple and orange slices inside. Everything was great! The place itself is quite cosy and definitely busy during Spanish dinner time which is quite late around 9-10pm. If you come here 6-7 though there is no line or waiting time, so maybe that could be a solution. In general, will be bringing friends here when they are visiting Barcelona!

Excellent traditional tapas and inexpensive to boot! Make sure to try the "berenjena rebozada y miel" (fried breaded eggplant with honey).

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me.
