The food was good - it's a great lunch stop. Their terrace is a great vibe. Good service, great wine.

If you're looking for a tapas place where the locals go La Bodegueta is the place. Located on the busiest of streets, Rambla Catalunya, there is indoor and outdoor seating. Both seatings are great for people watching, mingling with strangers and tasting quaint and unique tapas. There are numerous options from patata bravas, tuna sandwich, cockles, stuffed olives, cured meats and nice varieties of cheeses. I love the vibe inside: small cute tables and the mix of locals with tourists is quite great. My first time dining here I met some great folks from London who visited Brooklyn! Talk about six degrees of separation! We talked and drank and laughed.. this is what makes a great experience: good food, wine and conversation. The space is small so you are bound to start conversing with neighbors. Here's what I tried: -Patata Bravas: nice portion of potato chunks with sides of Mayo and spicy sauce. Mix the two together and it's quite delicious. - Russian Salad: tuna, potatoes, eggs and carrots served with halved breadsticks was quite tasty. I was expecting a fishy texture but it wasn't at all. -Chicken Croquettes: small fried bites that go well with cheese.. -Sheep's Cheese: delicious and mild, nicely paired with croquettes - House White: Sauvignon Blanc @3.5, euros cheap and great. Waiters had a heavy pour. All in all a great place to wind down from a busy day from work or touring! Very popular place so expect to wait a bit...

We arrived in Barcelona this am, rested for a bit and headed towards La Rambla. We stopped and ate a few tapas at La Bodegueta had a glass of Vermouth which was refreshing. The food was absolutely delicious, definitely recommend.

Came here based on a YouTube review I watched and it did not disappoint. However, I Would have given it a 5 stars if it was the first tapas place we visited, but unfortunately, since we went to Ciudad Condal first, we had to give this place a 4 stars only. Ciudad Condal was recommended by the taxi driver as he drove us to our hotel and so it was our first tapas experience in Barcelona. It is also a 4 stars in my books but for different reasons, that review I will leave under Ciudad Condal. So, we came here late at night since they close at 130-2am. And We ordered a LOT !! It has a very subtle entrance, no neon signs, no lights, just a dim plaque on the wall and that's it. We walked in, feels like place is packed with locals which is always a good sign. We sat ourselves down and the waiter quickly came over. He was super friendly and speaks some English, luckily I speak some Spanish so we are got it rolling. We ordered : fried pepper, fried cuttlefish strip, tomato bread, 2 different type of anchovies, clams in wine sauce, grilled Razor clams, potato corquettes, vermouth and grilled prawns. The anchovies was amazing (if you like that kind of stuff as it's very fishY). The razor clams is a MUST order, it was sooooo good. The clam special was also delicious and the vermouth was yummy. Also, although the cuttlefish is not my normal favorite, this place made it so well I thoroughly enjoyed it and almost finished the entire plate by myself! So, place is local, food is great so far and staff is super friendly, you may ask: "why only the 4 stars?" Well, it is also due to the foods. although most foods were delicious, it wasn't all great. The fried pepper was drenched in oil, we are used to have fried pepper somewhat drained of oil before served but this was just soggy peppers soaked with oil.... The tomato bread was lacking....flavor. It was just soggy, blend and nonexistent. The tomato bread I had at Ciudad Condor was 100 times better. It was also very light in flavor but the bread had its own unique flavor and the Tomato sauce also had a light, subtle taste. This in comparison, for me, was a disappointment. Lastly, the grilled shrimp knocked out the star. Although it says grilled it was service cold-Ishly. It was small, doesn't taste fresh and feels pre-made. Compared to Ciudad it was night and day!!!! And I mean it. So would I come back here? Absolutely, I don't know if it's the best in town as I only had two tapas restaurant so far. But I would go for the friendly staff, the rustic and local atmosphere any day over those tourist trap that draws you in with lights like moth to fire. Deliciousness: 4/5 Friendliness: 5/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 Price: 1.5/5

    All round good tapas.

Solidly, good tapas. It's not a fancy place and you wont have tourists lining up outside, but you will find many locals and regulars here which is always a good sign. The menu is simple and the service quick, though not the friendliest. We ordered an assortment of tapas - croquettes, anchovies, peppers, tortilla, pan con tomate, etc. Everything was great, particularly the croquettes. We ordered two serves of them! I know in Barcelona, people get caught up with the more popular tapas spots and sadly many don't deliver and are mostly filled with tourists. Try somewhere like this and you won't be disappointed.

    Great patatas bravas

We stumbled upon this looking for a cute place to grab some cava and chill. We ended up have several glasses of cava and had to order the patatas bravas with all that cava. The patatas bravas was among the best that we had in Barcelona. We very much enjoyed the bodegueta to sit inside among a delightful crowd, enjoy the tapas, the cava and the lively staff. I highly recommend stopping in for just a drink or tapas too. Great experience! Cava on...

Feels like the real deal: an easy-to-miss tapas bar filled with locals. The staff knew almost no English but it didn't matter. Great food, friendly staff, authentic space.

octopus - texture was soft like fish, very interesting

Very casual, old atmosphere. Their refrigerator was really cool and unique and antique. Sitting indoors had an old vibe to it, I enjoyed the atmosphere but the service seemed rushed and all over the place. One stars for the service, five stars for the food. And by service I don't mean how nice they are, it's about how they perform their jobs. And prices were a little pricey. I didn't order water but they gave me water, 1.70€ for 33cl which is about 1/3 of a liter, the same brand costs .80€ for 1L so they basically charged 6x the price. I'm just a little salty they gave me water when I never ordered it because I had my own water. Sangria is a little less than 3€ at which point, you might as well get a glass of sangria because it's double the price of water. They also served us our tapas first instead of jamon??? Like did they forget or something... The tapas itself was delicious. The fried potatoes were super flavorful and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend. The octopus was really interesting, I've never had anything like it before. Definitely try! normally, octopus is too chewy for me but the way this was cooked was almost like the texture of fish, I've never experienced something like that before. Flavor wise, it was a bit salty. The foie gras potatoes with eggs was also very good but slightly heavy, but it was to be expected. They didn't cut it up like they are supposed to, he just handed me two knives and did a hand motion for us to cut it up. Like wtf, if I had never gotten this type of dish before, I wouldn't know what to do. Lastly they served us our assorted cure meats with tomato bread. Keep in mind they served it LAST. By then we had no appetite for cured meats, that should be eaten first. We also never seen cured veal meat so we got one plate of those and it was drenched in olive oil. Personally I didn't mind too much but my friends felt kind of sick to eat it like that. The jamon iberica was my favorite, I didn't care much for the other meats.

prix-fixe lunch: steak and fries (first course: I chose fideua)
    Emmy M.

Very tasty, efficient place to have lunch in the Eixample in between visits to the Gaudí sites like La Pedrera or Casa Battló! I read about this place in a Rick Steves guide to Barcelona, and we were glad we heeded his advice. We stopped in here on a rainy day around 14:00 and enjoyed their straightforward prix-fixe lunch menu, with a couple of choices for each course. Both of us started with the fideua, which was an extremely flavorful, delicious noodle dish with seafood. For my main dish, I ordered the steak and fries while my boyfriend opted for rabbit, which was also served with fries. The prix-fixe included a drink and dessert, so we both ordered a caña (local draft beer) and flan. Service was prompt and friendly, although I was very glad to know passable Spanish for ordering food, since it seemed like our server didn't know any English (which is of course fine). Overall, a great value.

It looked like it was a favorite with the locals and was insanely crowded, but was worth the wait! We got the grilled prawn (comes with the shell), meat croquettes (can't stop eating them), the sheep cured cheese, the vermouth and the cava. All delicious to bits! Wouldn't go here for the service, but definitely for the food and the cosy, lost in time atmosphere.

    The patatas bravas was delicious!
    Linus L.

Alright place, the service was ok and the food was good. Had some really good patatas bravas. The seating was pretty limited and didn't offer any space to put your jacket. However, it's definitely a tapas place! So don't expect to get a burger here. Worth a visit.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.
