Our group was craving paella and this was an experience. It's in a beautiful area near the W hotel. It is a very large venue that can accommodate large groups, and a reservation is highly recommended. They have an open concept kitchen where you can watch them make the paella and there's a stool to take pictures. Our group got the 4 course meal and everything was fantastic, but I absolutely loved the crudo. I would have to say that my favorite paella was the noodle dish because of the texture and how much it soaked up the flavors. This was a good spot! Pretty unassuming from the outside but was able to host ten of us! The Great - The Garlic Shrimp was so good. The roasted veggie platter was delicious too. Oh, and their hummus was excellent. The Good - The Sangria was pretty yummy! The Bad - The tomato toast and plain toast were terrible. The Ugly - NA the meet and cheese tray were also really good! Looking for a place to eat last minute and Yelp guided me to this place nearby our location. We were seated immediately. We beat the rush as 3 or 4 families arrived right after we did. Menu looked traditional spanish. It took a while to get our order in, but the calamari appetizer did come in advance of the entrees. Wife has garlic shrimp. I had chicken paella. They said the paella is for one person, but you could easily share it if you get a couple tapas/appetizers. Paella tasted great. Wine selection by the glass is a bit sparse, but the red wine I ordered tasted great. read more

Best mussel seafood paella Ive ever had!!! DONT TRUST THE LOW YELP STAR REVIEWS, GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE!!! If I had had Internet service i would have been scared to come here based on the poorly written yelp reviews. But thank God my cell reception was down!! I tried a marisco/seafood paella and I asked for EXTRA mussels on it. I told the waitress i would happily pay more for the price of the overloaded meal since the plate is only served normallywith two mussels. The paella was both fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the waitress service and the food. The final bill for two main courses, two appetizers, and two Fresh waters was a very reasonable $35 Euros Plus tip. The only one negative was that once this place got REALLY busy our attentive service went down. But that's to be expected. Now here is my rant about the low star reviews on this business page. I really can't identify with yelpers who write one or two star reviews just because they don't understand the way European restaurants work. Yes table set appetizers (bread, butter, olives, pate) cost money. If you touch it, you bought it. This is how restaurants survive. They are not tourist traps because they charge you for sppetizers. If you dont want or like an appetizer, SEND IT BACK!! Don't finish it. And if you're going to write a bad restaurant'review, base it on either the bad food or the bad service, not because you were too cheap to pay the at the door menu prices. Every restaurant has a outside door menu WITH PRICES (especially this one), so don't be Lazy, read it!!! Finally, these restaurants are family owned businesses. Why do you want to destroy a family business reputation based on a weak interpretation or misunderstanding of what a tourist Trap is? A tourist Trap is a place you can't escape. No one put a gun to your head to go to a restaurant with a public door menu. If I had not tried this place, I would have missed out on the best mussel paella that I ever tasted. read more

Looking for a convenient, traditionally Spanish place right by the Sagrada Familia? Jamón y Vino is your place. The food here is great. A friend & I easily wasted hours here on our last night in Barcelona, drinking wine & indulging in various local dishes that complimented our time in Spain. The paella, served in a large pan, had a nice crust & a generous portion of seafood, while the Iberico Tasting Plate felt decadent & moreish. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Spanish Omelette, a serve of Spanish Sausage & a round of Sangria to finish off our meal. While you could easily walk past this place assuming it to be a tourist trap, I would implore you to give it a go. read more

It's so hard to know in Barcelona which of the thousands of tapas places are a notch above the rest. I'm usually suspicious of places with picture menus or prepared dishes on display as examples. This place has some of that but don't be fooled. The food and atmosphere was great. As the name implies, Iberian ham is the featured item, with whole hams hanging on one side of the restaurant. The patatas bravas were served with a generous amount of spicy sauce, the octopus was fabulous, tender, atop equally tender potatoes and dusted with smoked paprika. Fried salty green chiles were excellent. The calamari were on the larger side, aldente but not rubbery. Pan tamate, mussels, and chicken wings were also superb. The only minor downsides were slightly distracted staff (it took a while and a few tries to get a check) and the grumpy old guy in black who lives above the place. He stared at us throughout our meal from a balcony above outdoor seating looking like the ghost of Dali. I would say 4.5 stars once they exorcise that ghost. read more

Thought we go to a side street from the Sangrada Church to avoid tourist traps. Food was over priced for what you get. For the same price - there are many restaurants way better. The sangria was diluted with some powder & the paella was nothing like the photo. The seafood was not fresh or didn't seemed cooked. I expected more seafood for the price charged. Our first meal in Barcelona was Tapas! We stumbled upon this jem when leaving the Basilica. From the outside it looks quaint so we stopped. We shared some tapas but by far the favorite was the patatas with garlic sauce. The potatoes were cook so well and the sauce had so much flavor. This place caught our eye because of their large screen tv. We wanted to see the soccer game and were running out of options. I ordered something I didn't like at all; vegetable paella. It wasn't my taste. It took about 40 minutes and the manager to finally realize my plate wasn't touched, for someone to acknowledge us. Finally out waitress came over to ask why I didn't eat it. Fantastic experience. Just what I was looking for. The menu is in Espanol and English. I wanted to try as many of the meats for the area so decided on the Mixto Iberica con queso it will run you about 19 euro bread is extra but well worth it...nice crust. As for the wine the suggestion of the light white was perfect. Especially at 4 euro. The staff was very accommodating and the restaurant was very clean You can see I'm not one to post on Yelp but this was worth it. read more

What an outstanding last meal of our time in Barcelona! Do not let the touristy location of this tapas restaurant fool you. Both the food and service were outstanding. Our waiter Mimo was attentive and caring; when my wife started coughing after having sangria go down the wrong pipe, he asked if she was OK and immediately brought over a bottle of water. Speaking of the sangria, it is not to be missed! The best we have had in Barcelona. We dined on patatas bravas, Jamon off the bone (ham), Catalan bread and the grilled pork ribs. Highly recommended.
