Stopped here after seeing Sagrada Familia. Their seafood paella was very tasty. It was nice to have pizza as an option for the kids as well. The tomato bread was flavorful and a simple dish. The two gentlemen running the restaurant are truly Italian, and it shows in the food--amazingly delicious and reasonably priced. My wife and I were by the Sagrada Familia and my wife knew I wanted to try some paella. I thought it might be a little too close to the Basilica, but I was wrong! We got there right when it was opening and our waitress spoke real good English and I ordered a beer and the black ink paella. There were a lot of good looking dishes available though! If we were here longer, I would have tried their regular paella as well, I liked it because you could order a single serving, which seemed a little rare in Barcelona. The dish came out about fifteen minutes later, which is good for paella, because you know they made it fresh. I heard some places just nuke it and bring it out. It comes out in the cool looking pan that looks like a gold mining pan. It is colored deep black and has a huge prawn in the middle and lots of clams and mussels and calamari. The rice was cooked perfectly and the black squid ink sauce was delectable. Great service and my second beer was a great pairing for a lunch that fills you up perfectly. We came in with a large group and they were willing to accommodate us despite it being a small space. They also spoke English and had menus available in English as well, which was very helpful to us. The service was really good. We started with the carpaccio which was just ok. I had the gnocchi in pesto which was delicious and my wife had chicken Milanese which was also really good. They lost significant points because their sangria has almost no alcohol and was glorified fruit punch. We had a full litre and walked away not feeling anything. Food: We ordered the Sautéed Mushrooms and Roast Beef Rolls with Cream Cheese for tapas. They were both tasty nothing special. The roast beef rolls weren't my cup of tea. For our main dishes, I got the spaghetti and meatballs while my boyfriend got the meat and seafood paella. The spaghetti was clearly authentic; the sauce was just boiled tomatoes however it had very minimal spices and herbs and could've used some garlic, pepper, salt, etc. My boyfriend enjoyed the paella; the rice was tangy with small amounts of chicken and beef but lots of seafood. Highly recommend this place! We had been looking for a restaurant with delicious and authentic paella, and read the great reviews associated with Tuscania. For our table of 4, we shared their 4 different paella dishes (classic seafood, squid ink, mixed, and w/ prawns) which did not disappoint in terms of taste and portion size. We wanted to end the evening with some soufflé on their dessert menu (but sadly had run out already that evening) so we opted for the tiramisu which was very creamy.
