Very nice place for letting the day come to an end. We felt very welcome, when we got to our tables. Not a minute later, we got the menu and were ask what we would like to drink. The waiter spoke perfect english. We got our drinks in shortly after and ordered our lunch. Paella Vegetal and Spaghetti Bologenese. Both tasted very good. Thank you for the a nice evening.

The food is amazing . If you want to try real Spanish food is delicious. The decoration is amazing, really different and cool place. The music is amazing, nice and warm. The atmosphere is outstanding and nice . They have a free WiFi. The service is okey. We waited for long time till someone came and order. I guess they forgot about our table. We waited another 40 minutes till food came around . We wanted to order some salad and drink but our waiter did not even checked with us once. At the end they did not ask if we want to order dessert or anything else. They left me bill and kept smiling but not take the bill like had to wait for long till someone shows up to take a bill finally! They also have an offer in yelp which they did not take it and said they are not using it for 5 years.

This is us with our waiter Sylvestre. He's in the back on the left. He's an amazing person. We love him.

We looked all over Barcelona for a good restaurant with good paella. 4 days into our trip, we were in low spirits and just disappointed with the food here. We wondered how the restaurants here could have such terrible food despite having such fresh produce at the super market. Nogal was actually right by our apartment where we stayed. I read good reviews on yelp about it. This restaurant is definitely not 4/5. It's 5/5 for sure. Compared to the first day, when we fell into a tourist trap and ate at this place that served the worst paella possible, had the blades fried chicken wings and the weirdest chicken on skewers, plus a roach, this place has turned around our opinion of food here. We even went to a fancy restaurant at this place close to the piers and it cannot even be compared to Nogal. The ambience was perfect. Music was just right with some French songs which we enjoyed. They didn't rush us... we got there at 9:30pm and pretty much closed the restaurant. We left at 12:30am so happy and full. The portions were huge. The food was finally delicious. Our server, Sylvestre was amazing. He have us some tips about restaurants in Barcelona. Helped us celebrate our friend's birthday and even gave us a bottle of cava free and grilled peppers of charge. We even asked him if he would be here again if we come back the next night. Unfortunately he said no. But we'll be going back for the food again... last night here but no point trying other food because no place has been able to compare.

Rice and lobster is a MUST! Great environment with excellent service! Would definitely come back when in Barcelona again.

Black ink rice. Very authentic and we recommended.

We found this restaurant when we finished our tour at Sagrada Familia. The place looks very authentic on google and yelp so we decided to give their seafood rice a try. We order the black ink rice and the traditional Spanish seafood rice. The menu was a little confusing because we thought that we had to make at least two orders of the same dish. The reality is that the dish was single order enough to feed two person. We double ordered the tradition Spanish rice so we ended up with a 5 people portion for the three of us. Nevertheless, the food was very good. The shrimp and squid were fresh, and the squid ink really stood out for us. also ordered two bottles of sparking water, and we finished both before the food arrive. The baking time was about 45 minutes so that can be improved if possible.

We got here just by coincidence. The exterior does not say much but don't let that fool you. We tried various dishes, from grilled vegetables to cochinillo all of it was well done with very authentic flavors. Highly recommended.

Recommended by the man who works at the hostel we are staying at. Good paella it did not disappoint although my friend got the mixed paella and she kept adding salt to it. I however got the black paella and thought the garlic sauce on top was delicious, only wish it came with more!

Could have used some salt. But still good.

Solid place. Ate here twice in Barcelona because it was close to our apartment. Service was pretty slow but that seems to be the norm in Spain. Had the squid ink paella, seafood paella and both were really good. The shrimp "scampi" appetizer was amazing. Sautéed shrimp in garlic, olive oil with bay leaves. Highly recommend. We had the goat cheese salad and we all agreed it was possibly the best salad we'd ever had. Warm goat cheese, fresh greens and an amazing thick balsamic. Would definitely go back.

So far, 3 days in Barcelona and 3 times eating here. Excellent tapas, home style food, nice staff, great ambience. Don't expect fancy but pure Spanish style. We tried the Paella, Onion soup, Escalopa de lomo, canelones rellenos, even the bolonegse spaghetti my kids ordered was so good!!! And the Sangria!! Excellent. Going back for the Paella con Sepia (black paella). Sunday is a full house over there. Coffee is really good (and I only drink very good coffee) Desserts are very traditional: crema catalana (very similar to creme brûlée ), cheese cake (nothing like the American version. This is lighter and I bet it contains gelatin. It was delicious) Pudin (contains bread, more like bread pudding but less sweet) And they serve the best Jamón Ibérico de Bellota brand you can find in Barcelona.

Paella made with squid ink. Yummy!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it.
