My girlfriend and I had a few tapas here and they were very good. We had a wonderful server named Cielo and she made our experience even better. We had the potato salad, sour dough bread with a trio of sauces, the tar tar and some other things. We definitely recommend this place as the setting was very nice, staff was pleasant, wmd food was delicious
Located near the Casa Batlló, designed by Antonio Gaudi. French/Spanish inspired menu. We opted for delicious tapas: red shrimp nigiri, raw sweet shrimp on a croquette. The oyster on the half shell flight was very tasty: natural (briny), caviar, and passion fruit. The suckling pig was a savory, juicy shank on a raspberry sauce. Lastly, we ordered the king crab pasta, which was presented in the head of the crab, and topped with king crab meat.
This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at my hotel. The name of the restaurant is an ode to the number of kilometers between Palermo and Barcelona. We ordered a few tapas and one main dish to share. The standouts were the pork taco, oxtail dumpling, and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was the best I've ever tasted to date! It is something I love to order, however, I'm usually never wowed. This tiramisu wowed. The king crab spaghetti was ok, I'd order something different next time. Our server was Iman and she was nice. After the second tapas things moved a little slow bit it was still a nice experience. The restaurant was well lit and nicely decorated.
The front desk of our hotel recommended this spot for good tapas. We didn't have reservations and they just opened about a half hour before we arrived. Many free tables so I don't understand why the host told us we could have a table at 8 or 10 pm. It was 10 minutes to 8pm?! When we chose 8 pm and she then asked if we wanted a table? That did not make any sense. She could have just seated us. ***OUR PICKS*** CHEESE CROQUETTE ~ you only get one, but I felt it was good enough to share. Crispy on the outside with melted cheese on the inside. If you're hungry, order more. The texture was pretty good and memorable. 4.5/5 ARTICHOKE ~ soft artichoke with sauce and corn nuts. Pretty tasty. 4/5 OCTOPUS ~ octopus texture was ok but the sauce was a bit salty. Not my fave out of what we ordered. They didn't do much to the octopus and relied on the sauce. 3/5 FRIED CALAMARI ~ I enjoyed the batter which wasn't thick and heavy. This was a generous size of calamari too. Nice with lemon juice. 5/5 RIGATONI PISTACHIO PESTO BURRATA ~ this dish was good though pasta did not taste house-made. The pesto tasted a little different using pistachios instead of pine nuts. Burrata cheese was nice to balance the flavors. 4/5 SANGRIA ~ not too sweet but still sweetened by the fruit. Refreshing! 5/5 The waiter never smiled. I thought it was because we were tourists, but it seemed he was like that to locals as well. If the service was warmer, I'd give this place a 5.
Spanish Italian restaurant. It was walking distance from our hotel, by the Passeig de Gracia. The name refers to the 2254 Km that separate Palermo and Barcelona on the road, which is the route the owner took that inspired him. Most of the dishes are tapas, but the pastas are large plates. No pizza. Hip vibes, pleasant service. Our server, Luis, was awesome. I can't say there was a bad items ordered. The mochi and truffle, sardines, dumplings, and tagliatelle allá carbonara were the favorites, but everything was a crowd pleaser. Definitely worth checking out. Reservations recommended as this is a popular restaurant.
When in Barcelona, searching for great, Tapas is definitely a top goal of mine and 2254 was recommended to us, and I would definitely have to say I absolutely agree. We were greeted immediately and we sat inside. The service was excellent and allowed me to the different lines to make the right decision. The food was spectacular. I would define the food to be an elevated cuisine. We ordered Papa brava, sardines, tomato bread and artichoke. I could not rave enough about the food and the interior was absolutely adorable. A definite must went in Barcelona.
We've been here 3 times in the last 4 days. They are located close to where we are staying so it's become our local watering hole. Staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor is cute, the outdoor seating is a great vibe. The food is tasty- everything we have tried has been 10/10. The oxtail dumplings, the veal stew tacos, the Iberian ham, their version of papas bravas and the foie gras apple and vanilla doughnut They have Alhambra beer on tap and it's my new favorite beer. Definitely worth a visit.
So good! Great tapas Amazing food. Quiet little secret spot. Service is great and the ambiance was perfect. Quiet with Italian flair. We ordered 4-5 tapas and it was great. The bikini coppa, the artichoke the mochis bravos and the calamari. All were very tasty.
Loved this place! Very nice service and excellent food. The potato mochi was interesting- I've never seen that anywhere before, and I got to have the real pasta made in a melted cheese wheel experience. The view outside was delightful and the wine was great quality for the price.
I originally had my eye on the restaurant next door but the wait for two was over an hour! We were lucky enough to land a bar seat on Mother's Day as a walk-in and were later offered a table instead. The food was amazing and well crafted along with the cocktails and wine selections. Service was impeccable! The pasta cooked in the wheel of cheese was an entertaining dish full of flavor.

All of the food we ordered was great and the service was good. My favorite was the veal tacos which had a great flavor. Depending on what you order it can start to get pricy though. read more

This is a fusion type high end tapas restaurant. However, the tapas are not the traditional Spanish tapas you may readily think about. The portion sizes are also quite large to be considered traditional tapas. Each plate if big enough, in my opinion, to be a singular entree for one individual. Out of everything I tried I think the Taco de Carrillera and the Tuna wrapped in bacon dish were my two favorites. Another honorable mention would be the cannelloni's. There were some dishes that I was not a fan of, but I can't think of their names now. Overall, yummy and fun place to try. Ambiance and service were average and nothing to especially rave about. read more

Best creative tapas ! We are here 3 times during our stay in Barcelona and tried almost everything on the menu! We went to a couple of other tapas places recommended by Concierge, but concluded this place is the best ! There is always something extra to surprise and impress here. The final stop on our three stop Food Lovers tapas tour, 2254 was the fanciest of the three. And definitely some creative offerings for tapas to our party of ten. We had at least seven amazing tapas courses. I don't remember them all and some of the photos didn't come out well. Stuffed green olives, which came with a squeeze bottle of some sort of liquor. Campari? Eat the olive, squeeze the tube and enjoy. An interesting concept. Gazpacho, made with strawberries and beets and horseradish and vinegar. Strange looking, but fantastically wonderful. I'd have eaten another bowl of this yummy stuff. Smoked herring served on top of guacamole. There was a bit of a show here, as it came to the table under smoke-filled glass. Yeah, that's different and entertaining! Wok-fried shrimp that were dusted in a corn meal curry powder. Oh, wow! Flame grilled octopus with a green bean paste and white beans. This was my favorite. Very delicious, great texture, very nicely done and well plated. Oxtail tacos. Yes, Mexican-style with shredded oxtail, cabbage and greens, served with a wedge of lime. Tasty goodness but you can't dally. Mine fell apart halfway through because I was too busy talking about the taste! Final course, dessert. A mini hazelnut cake with vanilla ice cream. Perfect. Lots of wine consumed. Four or five bottles of a non-vintage local red. Very good stuff that probably goes for less than €5 locally but would be at least $30 a bottle back in the States. Service was great. The restaurant was lovely. And the food was incredible. If you're here, have that octopus! read more

Wanted to go to the place next door but ended up here and enjoyed a nice Tapas chef selection (ie omakase style). Favorite was smoked sardine by FAR!!! Everything about this particular tapa was awesome. The scallop tapas with iberico ham, avocado, mashed peas and togarashi was surprisingly tasty. Normally I'm not into mixing meat and seafood, but I enjoyed this! The seafood cappuccino went well beyond my expectation. To be honest it should be renamed "Uni Cappuccino" instead since it's served in a 1/2 sea urchin shell. If I had to be picky, the only dish that weren't quite 100% was the oyster. Presentation was beautiful, but I found this tapa had a little too much vinegar/sour note, definitely a bit overpowering. I would preferred more natural oyster juice, and maybe a hint of parsley/cucumber to balance things out. And the razors were a little much on the sweet side - I'm old fashioned and prefer my razors the traditional way, sorry. Service was outstanding, House wine very tasty. It's been 3 months since I visited, still remember everything! read more

A few things fails: #1. It seems this country does not understand how to cook beef. It was overcooked and dry and basically inedible. #2. The spare ribs took a looong time to cook and there was no warning about it when we ordered. When I say slow, I meant we finished the first round of 6 dishes, then ordered and finished a second round of 4 more dishes, and was still waiting for the ribs. #3. The oysters were attached to the shell. Hmm, what am I supposed to do with that? That said, there was a handful of tasty dishes. The razor clam was nice. Lobster was not bad either. I can't decide whether I like the seafood cappuccino or not. At the end, won't recommend. read more

We had a nice dinner. We liked everything in general. My son and husband said the tortilla and the chicken and shrimps were ok, but not great. They liked all of the other tapas - the calamari, the rolled sea bass, the spare ribs, the goat cheese salad, and the chorizo. I had the burrata & piquillo pepper (a cheese and gazpacho salad) as well as a lamb shank. That was quite good. The chef is from Polermo and did a great job. read more

My friends and I originally wanted to go to the restaurant next door, and so did everyone else apparently. The wait was way too long. Walked right in to 2254 and got a table immediately. I am SO GLAD we ended up here. The food and service were amazing! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nicer meal in the city. ps I much preferred the classic sangria over the sparkling sangria. :) read more

2254 was the restaurant highlight of my 2+ week trip to Italy and Spain. My mom and I went to 2254 three nights in a row when we were in Barcelona as we loved the food and service. I knew 2254 was a must-visit for us as I read a few reviews that had mentioned that 2254 is well on its way to receive a Michelin star(s). I was very pleasantly surprised to see that despite the quality of its food, stellar artistic presentation, and wonderful service, it wasn't expensive. This restaurant offers incredibly innovative tapas with Italian, Catalan, and French influence. Each dish we had was not only delightful in its presentation, but absolutely delicious as well. Each dish we ordered was extremely well thought out -- creative, unique, yet each ingredient went so well together. Some of my favorite tapas included the mochi and truffle, chef's nuncio cona garden (the presentation literally looks like a beautiful garden!), and smoked sardines with guacamole, soya and ito togarashi. The desserts are not to be missed. The hazelnut coulant is worth the wait -- it's the best dessert I've ever had at any restaurant in the world (!). I'm a huge hazelnut fan and if you are too, you can't miss this one! It's similar to molten chocolate cake, but with hazelnut. I tried to savor the hazelnut coulant for as long as I could. I told our waiter Gustavo how much I loved the hazelnut coulant and he said that it's also the favorite dessert of all the restaurant staff. I also really enjoyed the catalan cream -- Catalan bread pudding with a twist. On top of the amazing food and delightful presentation of the dishes, I must mention how wonderful the service was. Gustavo (the host and waiter), May (waitress), and David (manager) all took such good care of my mom and me. All three were so lovely to talk to and so warm and friendly. They made my mom and I want to come back again and again not just for the quality of the food, but because they made us feel so welcome, too. Thank you so much, David, Gustavo, and May for giving us such a great experience!! 2254 is one of the highlights of my Italy & Spain trip with my mom and an experience I'll never forget. I can't wait to return to 2254 on a future return trip to Barcelona. Highly recommended -- don't miss this restaurant and experience! 2254 by the way is extremely central in the Eixample district and is just off Passeig de Gracia. read more
