Disfrutar -- A Masterclass in Playful Fine Dining If you're in Barcelona and want a meal that's not just food but an experience, Disfrutar absolutely delivers. This is one of those rare restaurants where creativity, technique, and storytelling all collide -- and somehow every bite still tastes incredible. Disfrutar is known for avant-garde cuisine, but unlike some experimental places, every dish has soul. Expect surprises, whimsy, and a lot of "wow" moments. Highlights included: * The famous panchino -- an airy brioche with caviar that disappears in your mouth. * The multi-spherical olive, a mind-bending reinvention of a classic. * The cooked ceviche, which flips the idea of ceviche completely on its head. * And of course, the "Disfrutar box" and the playful ending chocolates that make you feel like a kid again. Every course feels like a magic trick you actually get to eat. My favorite part is The Living Table at Disfrutar! THE most memorable parts of the meal. The table literally becomes part of the experience -- drawers open, hidden compartments appear, and the chefs build dishes right in front of you. It feels like a playful culinary performance where the table turns into a stage. It's interactive, surprising, and beautifully executed, perfectly capturing Disfrutar's mix of creativity and incredible flavor.

28 course meal that is good value. Service was pleasant. There was a variety of servers that came to our table to explain the dishes and present the wine pairings. One issue here: Foie gras and sweetcorn multi spherical tatin This dish was first presented in a square shaped box open at the top with two rectangular front and back compartments. In the middle, there is a horizontal mirror that was meant to look like glass and somehow reflects the front compartment onto the back compartment. The real food was in the front compartment. However, it was intended for the guest to see the reflection onto the back compartment and see the middle mirror as see through glass. When this is the case, the guest would think the food is in the back compartment and try to grab the food there. The thing is I could tell that horizontal mirror in the middle was a mirror and not just a glass. So without looking at other guests, I tried to grab the food at the front compartment, which made the seaweed break and the corn and foie gras fall over when I tried to grab it looking at the reflection. The server got frustrated and said I wasn't following instructions with a smirk. I was following instructions (!!) - he said try to grab the food and I did. Note for future: Don't blame your guests for seeing what they see instead of what you intended for them to see. This was my first 3 star Michelin restaurant and I haven't even been to a 2 star. I wasn't able to say what I now hope I did in the moment. I was just stunned at what had happened, how it went from great servers to a rude server. I was questioning whether if it's possible that I didn't make a mistake but the server just couldn't see what I saw. I'm tempted to give the restaurant 5 stars still because of the rest of the amazing servers and the owner. The owner greeted us at the beginning and turned out quite approachable. At the end, he asked us about our experience and if there's anything we wanted to tell him. He also helped up flag down a taxi to take us back to our hotel. However, I couldn't make up my mind about how to present the Foie gras and sweetcorn multi spherical tatin incident without looking like an angry and confused customer. Plus, we were rushing back to the hotel to fly out in the next few hours. For these reasons, I didn't tell the owner I was unsatisfied with Foie gras and sweetcorn multi spherical tatin experience. Now regarding the rest of the food: My favorite dishes were those with truffle or caviar ingredients. Top dishes: Flourless 'coca' bread with truffle and burrata - Plenty of real black truffle slices Panchino filled with caviar and sour cream - Crispy soft shell and tasty interior Crispy egg yolk with warm mushrooms gelatin - You pour the egg yolk over the mushroom gelatin. Both ingredients are incredible. Tomato "polvorón" and arbequina Caviaroli - Isn't for everyone but I unexpectedly enjoyed it. Reminded me of a sour dried tomato. The wine pairings were intentional, meant to agree with or balance the flavors of the food. The dining room was bright and open with screens on the ceiling showing a blue sky.

Number 1 restaurant in the world for 2024 and reservations are ridiculously hard to get. I was waitlisted for a few days while i was in barcelona and thankfully got the call that i was off the waitlist. The main dining area is pretty open, but you get seated pretty closely with other parties. Service was also great - staff was super attentive and kind, as well as welcoming and looked like they were enjoying their job. Didn't feel stiff talking to them or forced politeness Out of the 20+ or so courses, i'd say that i disliked maybe 2 courses, thought 3 courses were meh, 7 courses were good, and 9 courses were absolutely amazing. We ate for around 3.5 hours (and i think we were even the first the finish). Highlights: - Black sesame cormet - Caviar ball - Bubbled butter - Squab This experience was a great balance of delicious taste while also being extremely theatrical and fun. I wouldn't say any of the flavors were extremely complex but they didn't need to be - good flavors overall and the aesthetics and interactive portions were some of the best parts.

Ok ok ok. One of the best experiences, and one of the best restaurants I've ever visited in my life! Food was unreal and outstanding! Just magnificent and magical at the same time. Service was superb on the highest level imaginable. Ambiance is perfect in every way. An absolute must visit to experience something incredible once in your life

Reservations are hot. I got on the waitlist and sent them a personal email of basically begging them lol. I got a call literally a week in advance that I got the reservation. Staff was very attentive and kind. Food was amazing but I think my stomach couldn't handle that many courses. Very unique flavors and with each dish there was a special background story which our group really enjoyed. Once in a lifetime experience.

Disfrutar was on my bucket list for a long time and my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner reservation, WHAT A TREAT! The atmosphere at the place is very pleasant and the service was outstanding. They offered us two pre fixed menu options, the classic and the seasonal, but they suggested us to take the classic since we were first timers. The sommelier also helped us pick a divine white wine that paired perfectly with the meal. We didn't know what to expect but I can only describe the experience as mind-blowing. Every dish was perfectly thought out, presented in the most exquisite way. The food was innovative, creative, but above all very DELICIOUS! 10/10

At some point, a meal completely transcends the words we would normally use to describe it. I don't know what to say, except that Disfrutar is innovative, shocking, theatrical -- but above all, DELICIOUS. I don't want to spoil any of the surprises by describing anything, but it was probably the best meal of my life. The lunch service is the same as dinner, so don't miss the opportunity if an earlier table is available. The alcohol pairing (not just wine!) is definitely worth it, and we appreciated them letting us share it between two people. Two tips: 1) Come starving; you won't regret it. 2) Nothing is as it appears. We laughed, we (nearly) cried, we screamed at the audacity of a dessert centered around hoisin sauce. Truly one of the meals of a lifetime.

"Can we give Disfrutar a 6 out of 5 stars?" - my husband We went to Disfrutar this past summer as it's been on my husband's bucket list for a while, and it did not disappoint. The courses were incredible, and it was an overall 10/10 experience from beginning to end. Truly unforgettable, and we would go back in a heartbeat.

One of the most unforgettable meals I've had. I won't recount all the dishes we've had here, as there were plenty of reviews describing everything already. Disfrutar is now ranked #3 best restaurant in the world, and it well deserved it. If you have the chance to come here, do not hesitate, it will blow your mind. The technique behind every dish and the innovative ideas behind them were unmatched. We had dinner at El Celler de Can Roca the night before. It was a masterpiece. So we were REALLY close to cancelling this dinner because we thought, what can top our experience from previous night?! I'm glad we decided to keep it. It was equally stunning, but a completely different culinary experience. Here's the analogy: if I think El Celler as a movie, it would be the best drama of all time, such as the Godfather, perfectly structured from beginning to end. On the other hand, Disfrutar would be the best comedy of all time (Home Alone anyone?), you'd be laughing from beginning to end and having the greatest FUN time of your life.

Writing an update, after revisiting and re-confirming that this is my favorite dining experience in the world. Everything at Disfrutar seems to just match everything I look for in dining - the food is both delicious, as well as creative, presented beautifully, and fun to eat. The service is warm and staff are able to communicate perfectly in a number of languages. The sommelier provided wonderful recommendations and also explained the wine pairing so well, and this was the best pairing we experienced in 25 michelin stars on this trip. The chefs were there to shake hands upon arriving, and we found them outside after our meal where we thanked them again and again for the experience. The whole experience feels like such a steal compared to our tasting menus in the US, except this one is the current #2 restaurant in the world. I cannot recommend Disfrutar highly enough, and can't wait to return again to hopefully experience the living table. This is the restaurant that I compare all others to - this is the gold standard. For this meal, we opted for the festival menu, and added some highlight courses from our past "classic" meal experience. Favorites included - the tomato polvoron, chinese bun, butter smoked bubbles and caviar, crunchy mushroom, egg yolk tempura, pork broth carbonara, golden egg, corn and foie. Loved the desserts - the waldorf salad with mustard ice cream was out of this world.

After having been exposed to the top restaurants of the world from childhood, raised by extreme foodies, Disfrutar is in a class of its own. This was hands down, the best meal I've ever had in my life. I do not say that lightly. Every dish has you captivated in absolute astonishment, forcing you to question everything that you have ever considered food or a dining experience. Unpretentious, absolute wonder in every bite, simply amazing. Michelin star restaurant after Michelin star restaurant, Disfrutar is on a completely different level FAR above all the rest. It's almost hard to write a review grand enough to properly honor the treasure that is this place. Absolutely extraordinary, culinary genius. Thank you for bringing your art to this world. So grateful to have been there and hope to someday return.

Wow wow wow. Such an amazing experience. We've been to many Michelin starred restaurants and this one is amazingly priced and absolutely breathtaking!! Reminded me of Atelier Crenn in San Francisco but without the poem. We went for lunch and it's the same menu as dinner but that's great because we could get home early. They do a fabulous job presenting the food and explaining the deconstruction and wine and experience. They speak English and can explain what you are being served in English but I feel like I would have preferred the speech in Spanish. We did the wine pairing, but next time we will just get a bottle. We did the traditional menu which was OUTSTANDING, loved everything. We want to go back for the seasonal menu. We lucked out getting a cancellation spot. Otherwise, next available booking is August!

The most creative meal I have ever had! This is truly one of the most amazing food experience! I was only in Barcelona for three days, and I was lucky enough to get off of the waitlist for disfrutar. People usually need make reservation a year in advance. This two Michelin star restaurant offers a 28 course meal with either the classic option or a festive option that is for newer dishes. This restaurant is also ranked number 2 in the world. Absolutely love the whole entire experience, and it is definitely a memorable experience. The whole takes about 4 hours so make sure to leave enough time for the meal. It is very apparent from every dish how much thought goes into it. Every dish is just perfectly executed. Highly recommend everyone to try to snag a reservation if you can when visiting Barcelona! The staff is so professional and explains every dish in detail before serving. I also love how they showcase how some of the ingredients came about. Even though 4 hours is a long time for a meal, but trust me it does not feel like 4 hours with 28 dishes coming at you one after another. Very reasonably priced as well comparing to the two Michelin star restaurants in US. The ambiance is great as well. Before you start dining, they take you to see the kitchen and explain some design elements of the restaurant.

The first day I had the veal and beef sirloin, medium cooked. The veal tastes like it was dry-aged and came with a pleasant flagrant along with the kick from charcoal. It was a bit chewy but every bite on the meat extracts more flavor from it. Beef sirloin usually is a safe choice, and it was a right decision for this restaurant. It was super tender and juicy, satisfying. The second day we went back for more, our friend recommended beef short-rib, and i also added a lamb chop. Unlike other short ribs I had in US, their rib was not as tender, but the more you chew on it, the more flavor came out of it. The lamb chop was surprisingly good, it's tender and juicy, also a bit fatty. I wanted to go back on the third day, but guess we need to try out something different in Barcelona, but I will definitely come back next time I'm there!

I give this place 5 stars for service and 3 stars for food…read more Service was exceptional! The server came out and described all the special of the days and recommended his favorites. There is a menu in English as well. Certain dishes were amazing and some I was very disappointed. Too bad they don't have a special lunch menu because the bill for the two of us was quite expensive. So, if you're going to try this place out, here's what I had: Crispy pig mask - pretty much like bacon but lacking flavor. I believe the garnish in top was peppercinis? Or banana peppers. Not so sure. Iberico ham croquettes - took a bit and it was so crispy and tasty. Definitely get this. Their "special egg of the day" was similar to huevos cabriadios. This one came with asparagus. The portion was really tiny and everything was kind of mushed together. Lacking crunchy texture. Didn't like it at all. Steak tar tar - very nice. Came with 4 pieces of patatas which I didn't think went will with the tar tar. Instead, I spooned it onto the compliments pan con tomatoes they gave us. Patatas bravas - not your usual patatas with aioli. They add a sort of tomato paste to this dish so it makes it unique and interesting. It's good! Scallop on top of pork neck. This was the star dish of the meal. Scallops perfectly cooked on a fatty piece of pork. So much flavor, the right amount of crispness- this is a must have. All this + 2 drink came out to 58.20€.

Even though we did not have reservations, we were welcomed and treated like family instead of American tourists. The staff, particularly Victor, patiently explained the menu and we chatted with him as acquaintances. We dined here two out of the three nights we were in Barcelona because we had such a great dining experience. When we came back for the second time, every staff member remembered us and joked with us. Victor even remembered our order! Bamboral means poppy, and it's named after the city where the owners are from. One of the owners even came over to chat with us and told us about how the food was made. Here's what we had: -Ensaladilla Rusa & bonito tuna (4 euros): I'm not a potato salad fan, but this is a pretty classic tapa so we had to try it. It was just okay to me, but my husband loved it. -Burrata salad (8 euros): The burrata was a good size for sharing, while the asparagus and tomato added a nice contrast to the creaminess of the burrata. -Rice special (7 euros): Oh my gosh, whatever the rice special is, just order it! I ordered it both times, so I had two eye-rolling bowls of rice goodness. If you like the umami flavor of mushrooms, then you will love their rice special. -Scallop with pork jowl & asparagus (13 euros): The scallops were perfectly cooked, and don't be scared of the pork jowl; it's really more like pork belly. -Sweet potato bravas (3.50 euros): I would go back just for this simple, yet fantastic dish. The owner told us that their aioli is special because it's made with roasted garlic and tomatoes that have been braised for hours along with peppers from their garden. You can taste the quality in their aioli because it tasted much more complex than ones from the other tapas bars we went to. -Pork mask (8 euros): Okay, I know the name is rather strange, but this was amazing! Think of bacon that is topped with bits of garlic and vinegar to add some acidity to an otherwise heavy dish. It is a smaller establishment, so make reservations or be okay with sitting at the bar, which is what we did both nights. The atmosphere is friendly with lots of locals dining here. If you're looking for a fine dining experience with white table cloths and room temperature Evian, this is not for you. If you want to have great tapas at a reasonable price with great people, then come here!
