Although the atmosphere is there the restaurant was just OK in my opinion. The pros are the quick service and pitchers of sangria. The cons are the just OK food. I got the salad which was good and this rigatoni which was dry and undercooked. I did not finish it. The restaurant was super busy and the staff ran it like a well oiled machine. It is in the middle of a busy area and my friend and I sat there talking for a long time. The staff let us stay a little over closing to finish up.

Loved the decor of La Fonda, it was beautiful inside. We had reservations so we were seated quickly. The food was delicious as well. We ordered the duck, fried shrimp, mushroom risotto, eggs and Cesar salad. For dessert we ordered their crème brûlée.

Recommended by guide the Guell House. Our croquettes were delicious as were the paella. Service was on point & the restaurant was elegant & lovely.

Disappointed! After seeing a raving review on TikTok I decided to take a gamble and a gamble it was. The veggie paella...NO, the seafood paella was better but not great. I was mixing the seafood rice into the veggie because the veggie was so flavorless. The service was not great. Then the dessert...if a restaurant is blah if they can win me over with a awesome dessert then I can increase the stars. Well this was a FAIL. I ordered my favorite which is the tiramisu. The tiramisu here is a glass container with one ladyfinger at the bottom and a custard that is flavorless. I did not enjoy it AT ALL. Also a good sangria could win me over and that was not a winner either. In my opinion pass this spot.

Seafood Paella for 2 people

Visited Barcelona with the girlfriend. We wanted to try the paella in Spain. This place was recommended by a local where we picked up our Travel WiFi device. We were advised to avoid large menu restaurants and if it has a lot of pictures, it's a tourist trap and/or frozen, not fresh, paella. Trust the locals! Nice restaurant when we stepped inside. Tables were pretty close to each other. Some were separated by plexiglass. Noise was average and waiters were attentive. Seafood Paella for two was amazing. Tasted fresh and flavorful. Dish presentation for the Red shrimp croquettes was clever. I'm a sucker for croquettes. Sangria was on the sweeter side.

Would not recommend at all. The restaurant looks very nice and has pretty good reviews, but my experience was completely different. Our waiter was very rude. Any time we asked a question he said no. The food is mediocre/bad as well as the sangria. There is even no cocktail menu. Barcelona has so many good restaurants, and this is NOT one of them.

While wandering the streets of Barcelona we ended up at La Fonda without any expectations or idea really what it was. Us Americans loved every dish we had there and the prices were amazing for the quality of food. Pasta in parmesan cheese wheel, burrata with mango, duck, vegetable gyoza...all delicious! The restaurant was gorgeous with a classy atmosphere.

Sea Bream - excellent and NOT fishy!!

2 adult Wisconsin USA Travelers. White tablecloths, great ambiance, reasonable prices. I had the Sea Bream which is a non-fishy whitefish with excellent flavor (note, comes with head on). Hubby had the steak (medium rare is more like rare in USA). Excellent flavor. We enjoyed Brut Cava (Spanish equivalent of champagne) The aubergine appretizer had amazing flavors with all the toppings - the Aubergine tasted and had consistency of like a cross between an artichoke and Portabella mushroom. Save room for the Tim Baon dessert and a espresso! Best meal we have had so far in both Madrid and Barcelona and we have been in Spain 9 days!

This place was recommended to us by our tour guide and it did not disappoint! Service was a bit slow but we were not in a rush, the place is beautifully decorated with a great vibe. We ordered the sangria pitcher for the table and it was delicious and refreshing. For lunch we had the seafood paella and shared the bravas and croquetas de gambas. Everything was delicious! We will definitely visit again during our next stay in Barcelona.

Nice dining restaurant in Barcelona. Inexpensive price even though it looks like a high class restaurant. Paella was very good! And the starter combo platter is good for 4 people even it says it's only for 2 people. I've been eating paella 7 days in a row in Barcelona. I'm a paella monster lol. La Fonda and Les Quinze Nits are the 2 of the best out of all the restaurant I've tried in Barcelona.

When: Tuesday night at 10:30pm Party Size: 2 Tapas Sampler: 9/10 Amazing tapas. Most of it was fried but delicious all around. Croquettes were the best all trip. Calamari was very tender and fresh. Prawns were meaty. Hummus was smooth. Tomato bread was also best I had this trip. Paella: 7/10 We got the seafood without the shells paella. This was loaded with fresh seafood, not skimped. For 2 people, paella would fill you up by itself. Nice and creamy texture. Service: 7/10 A little slow but this could be culture. Waited a good 15 minutes before being greeted by a waitress at the table. Ambiance: 10/10 This place looks so fancy yet the prices are down to earth and very affordable. Value: 10/10 Great bang for your buck. Overall: 9/10 Will definitely come back here.

Walked by during lunch time and it was packed. So we came here for dinner instead. We had the pan with tomato, duck confit and grilled squid. They were all excellent. Service was good and will be back.

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.

The service was very attentive, and our waiter, a fellow Ecuadorian...was very professional and friendly. We ordered staple tapas and dessert, and the food was very delicious. I had no idea how huge and elegant the restaurant was until I went inside to use the bathroom before leaving. We were there just after 7 pm so it wasn't as busy as I imagine it will get later, because in Barcelona, people don't have dinner until 9 or 10 PM. We ordered fresh salmon with dill, coroquetas de jamón iberico, a cod fritter, and chicken cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle sauce. We also ordered the pan with tomate, of course to soak up the truffle sauce. The cannelloni was amazing! I mean it melted in your mouth amazing!! After our snacks... We ordered dessert. We ordered their homemade Belgian chocolate ice cream, which is hands-down, the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten. And we also ordered their version of a crème brûlée called crema Catalonya! Both desserts were amazing, however, I highly recommend the Belgian chocolate ice cream. Overall, the experience was amazing and I hope to pop in again before we leave. Enjoy!

Both my son and I are very picky about Lebanese food having been spoiled by the excellent Lebanese in our home town Los Angeles, so we ordered with trepidation. The very first must-try dish immediately set our minds at ease: please, do yourselves a favor and order their Fatoush salad. It's done so right, juicy tangy, bursting with flavors and the pita in the salad is made into a curly flower and gives a delicious crunch. We liked the dish of garbanzo and yogurt a bit less, as it was quite heavy and lacked flavor. My son was very pleased with shish tavouk with chicken, and I loved my halloumi dish. The service was slow (as everywhere in Barcelona) but it was efficient, and our Egyptian waiter had good recommendations for everything. He was funny and personable.
