Group of 7 friends out for a birthday lunch. The location is picturesque, great for impressing out of town visitors. Food is good, but very pricy. We all had an amazing lunch and kept the celebration going after. Special meal, for a special friend. Good times and great experience.

While in Barcelona, our driver called this restaurant for us and got us a 10:15 pm reservation. Our party included my husband, my two year old, and me. I wasn't sure what to except because there were a mix of 5-star as well as 1-star reviews, so it was hard to gauge what to expect. 1. Service was great. I was stressed out about eating dinner so late with a jet-lagged toddler at a restaurant where he seemed to be the only child. They brought him colored pencils and coloring pages. The staff spoke directly to him and engaged him. Thank you! 2. We ordered the seafood paella and tuna tartare to share. The food came out in about 15-20 minutes. The tuna tartare was fresh, seasoned well, and delicious. The paella was great! My two-year-old gobbled it up and kept asking for "more rice!!". I was worried it would be too fishy, but it wasn't. I'm not even that big of a seafood fan, but I ate/tasted everything. We got to sit near the kitchen area, and this was great for my son. He enjoyed watching the cooks. I was pleased with my experience. According to our driver, the restaurant patrons are a mix of tourists and locals. I'd recommend this restaurant to others.

Nothing was bad, just so bland. Nothing standout. It's a super busy popular restaurant with a lovely location, but everything lacked flavor and seasoning. I had a sole fish, which looked beautiful, but it looks like they cut open a fish and heated it and voila. Just boring. Tasty, well cooked, but nothing memorable. Even the veggies on the side tasted like they just came out of the oven from the freezer. Store bought. Nice ambiance. Amazing that the place does so well.

Found this place from a referral from a local photographer in Barcelona. It's a beautiful restaurant hidden in the corner next to the sea with a view of the sea (though the sea is virtually pitch black if you come at night albeit with nice fires at the balcony). Indeed, it felt as if we were the only non-Spanish speaking party at the restaurant. It was filled with local families and couples. The inside is absolutely gorgeous with an open view of the professional kitchen and staff running around. The service was excellent as well. As for the food, the seafood dishes are presented in a great way that brings out the natural flavors of the fish if that's what you like. Most of the dishes don't have much seasoning/salt, which we greatly enjoyed. The Galician-style octopus (Pulpo) was really unique and had a nice, fatty texture that reminded me of pork tongue/ear. As a referral for a great paella restaurant, Barceloneta unfortunately lost its 5-star for me because the paella was a minor letdown. While the rice and seafood were cooked well in texture, the flavor was overly salty contrary to the other dishes we had. It tasted like too much XO seafood sauce was poured into the rice which made it incredibly salty and masking of the natural seafood flavors (you can tell just by looking at the dish). Overall, I would come back for the seafood and beautiful interior of Barceloneta. While I wouldn't come here specifically for the paella, it was still enjoyable and a lot of the other seafood dishes were all memorably delicious.

Love this place!! One of my local friends recommended me here and the food was fabulous! The Jamón ibérico is the best I've ever eaten in my life. And great polite service and atmosphere is perfect!! Words aren't enough but it's just a brilliant atmosphere. Must try it and you will like it here too!

A good food with terrible service, not even knowledge over the most basic drinks ( old fashioned) , service out of the protocolar order.. vast wine list.. poor fool bar... Now the food.. fish good, paella not too good, appetizer a decent experience.. but not great... the side order ( espárragos ) never came.. Any way, if you leave Barcelona not visiting this place you haven't lose anything.. by the way order the salt the humidity has every salt dispenser not working. By the way pricey for nothing exceptional.. maybe someone show to bring me the check

The interior of this spot is incredible, both design and architecture. Makes the space feel very elevated. Loved the mango spring rolls, very unique. I got the curry dish for entree. It was decent, could've used more spice and flavor.

In April 7th 2024 at 2:50pm I was sit together with my family and my bother's family (4 adults 4 kids). The first thing I will say is that the food it's ok but definitely not worth the price, it was 4:30pm and and still waiting for everyone's food when I told them that I had a place to be at 5:00pm the only thing they say was "the food is coming", when the food finally came it was 4:45pm and 10 minutes later I told them that we are still waiting on my wife's paella. At 5:00pm I couldn't wait no more and ask for the check which I was given in less than 10 seconds. The bill was 350 euro and my wife never got to eat her paella. Was in a rush and never put a formal complaint to the manager but glad that I'm doing it now. Only good thing was the drinks but 1 star anyway.

Epic seafood worth every penny. Great atmosphere and he service was next level. If you want an authentic Catalan seafood experience in a restaurant that can host large parties this is the one.

We came here off a local recommendation for good seafood but to be honest the food wasn't particularly memorable. I wouldn't say it was explicitly bad or great, just kind of coasting somewhere in between. The service, however, was excellent. In fact, I enjoyed our waiter more than anything else. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they were great about accommodating our large group

Had dinner here tonight for my 60th birthday. No special acknowledgment was made after my husband told them when making the reservation. Dinner was very good. Service was not very attentive. Long period of time passed between courses and had to request additional wine and water. I will say it was the best tiramisu I have ever eaten !!

Just waiting for these clowns to figure out what they are doing.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We arrived just after lunch opening and were the first customers. The guy at the counter was... efficient. He simply told us to pick what we wanted, tossed it in a bin, and that was that. No explanation of pricing or preparation methods. When we asked how they'd cook it, he casually offered "fried or grilled." Obviously, we chose grilled--why fry fresh seafood? We picked two giant prawns, two octopus tentacles, and two fish (since hubby can't have shellfish). He asked if we wanted salad or soup--reviews hyped the soup, so we went with that. Then he handed us a receipt, told us we were order #3, and sent us to the bar. At the bar, we ordered two sangrias and a water. The bartender asked if we wanted bread and sauce. Sure, why not? We assumed they were included. Surprise! The tiny baguettes cost €0.50 each, and the mystery "house sauce" (a questionable mix of thousand island and horseradish) was an extra €1. We only realized the charge when we saw the total: €73. Oh well, too late now. Then came the food pickup experience--chaotic, to say the least. The server practically barked at us to bring our receipt, aggressively crossed off items, and handed over soups and octopus, crammed onto a greasy tray. No effort at plating, just food haphazardly dumped onto plates. The second round--grilled fish and prawns--was more of the same. Now, the verdict: Soup (5/5) - Delicious and reasonably priced at €6. Would order again. Bread & Sauce (0/5) - Not free, not worth it. Hard pass. Octopus (€31.80 for two tentacles, 1/5) - Overpriced, greasy, and drowning in molten salt. Basically, eating a sodium bomb. Grilled Fish (€10.50 & €8.50, 3/5) - Decent, but unnecessarily oily. Grilled Prawns (€5.59, 0/5) - Mushy, not fresh, and borderline inedible. Final thoughts? Not worth it. With so many incredible food spots in Barcelona, why waste your meal quota here? If you want quality seafood, go to Cervecería Catalana--we spent €5 more, but a meal a thousand times better. Spend wisely and eat like a king.

Two of us picked 5 types of seafood, a salad and a fish soup. We tried the sangria as our drinks. Everything is beyond fantastic! We would highly recommend this seafood gem to all our friends. Here are a few tips for the first timers: 1) The workers at the order area don't understand English well. We pointed at the seafood for ordering. 2) Recommended to have the fish soup over mixed salad as an appetizer. The fish soup is made with lots of fish and ginger; and it carries so much flavor. 3) The mussels are a must-have and are so cheap (Under 10 Euros for huge portions). It's recommended to prepare in two ways: white wine and tomato sauce 4) The La Paradeta sauce (I e. A green basil sauce) goes very well with shrimps and razor clams. 5) The fried calamari was so delicious and perfectly paired with drizzles of lemon juice. Yet, it's so expensive (24 Euros for a very small portion). It doesn't feel as worth it as compared to something like lobsters (29 Euros/single lobster). 6) I noticed many people ordered a bottle of wine instead of Sangria. Will need to try next time!
