Very small, eclectic with an original vibe and ambiance that is one of a kind. The music was a bit strange but added to the ambiance once you got used to it. All food was made to order and very good. Four seasons Sardo was the best and if you're hungry that would be the plate to order. Hummus not available when we went. Grilled eggplant very good as was the tomato appetizer and olives. Ohhh myyyy, talk about a hidden gem with exclusive flavors. Really an adorable hole in the wall with colorful barstools, medieval stone walls, friendly service, and tastes you can Only Get Here. Excellent hummus platter got our mouths watering, but the house-invented Sorda rocked our tastebuds. A mushroom, olive, queso combo with a light flatbread topper, the restaurant described its creation as a crunchy calzone. Much thinner than American-style calzone, and absolutely delightful. A very small (one might even say tiny) bar that we were told was carved out of old Roman ruins. The service was good as one would expect where there can only be about 10 customers. We had a delicious cheese plate and also me tea which was lovely. Kind of cool for the ambiance alone. read more

This place was super cute, very small so you probably don't want to come with a big group, but per for a solo to 4 person party. They have dimmed lights that give that super cozy feel to it. The staff is super nice and attentive, I'm not vegetarian but I'm always open to yummy all veg meals and this, did not disappoint! I loved this place so much, I went three times on my brief visit to Barcelona. It feels like a hidden oasis and has such a cool but relaxed ambience. The tea quality was truly top-notch - and I am very much a tea snob. My father ordered the green tea and mint blend with sugar and I ordered the golden milk. They were both so exquisite in flavor that it felt like we were drinking elixirs. Then came the eggplant salad, the literal best thing I've eaten on my multi-city visit in Spain. It was simple ingredients that when combined, tasted complex and layered and just totally addictive. The roasted eggplant was drizzled with what seemed like tahini, pesto, lemon juice, sesame seeds, and magic. We also ordered the four season sardo and had our minds blown. The cheese was so delicious we just had to ask our waiter what kind it was and he explained it was a special blend of cow, goat, and sheep milk, brought a whole wheel out to show us, and even gave us a small bowl of cheese on the house! On a later visit, we brought my husband and mom, who were both getting over colds and got the remedio, which cleared their noses and chests out dramatically, a true miracle. We found this place just looking for places to eat in Barcelona and oh goodness am I glad we found it! It's a very small hole-in-the-wall tucked away in an alleyway off from the main walking road. If we had just walked past it without knowing, we probably would not have even noticed or stopped to look inside. The inside has mood lighting and is a cozy space. There is a bar and some seats towards the back. Technically, this place is a tea house but neither my husband nor I were in the mood for tea. Instead, we got a half liter of red sangria to share and it was SO good: sweet, tangy, filled with fruit, and enough for about two drinks each. I have never really been a huge olives fan, but I had also never had them in Spain. And many of the menu items had olives, so instead of just avoiding those items or asking them to be made without olives, I took a chance and asked the woman who was helping us if I could just try one olive. She was super sweet and brought a little plate of a few olives for us to try. Now, I'm still not a huge olives fan and that wasn't a life-changing experience, BUT it was much better than I had had before. We ended up getting the eggplant dip appetizer and the sardo cuatro estaciones. The eggplant tapa was good, but didn't knock our socks off. It had large pieces of nicely cooked eggplant with crispy bread/crackers and they paired nicely. I might have added some salt to it. But the sardo WAS a life changing experience and my husband enjoyed it also. It was full of flavor and crispy and creamy at the same time. I almost considered getting another sardo just for myself despite being so full. The whole experience including the sangria, food, and staff was amazing and this will be first on my list should we go back to Barcelona again! read more

We only got sangria, but it was some of the best we've ever had. Strong and juicy with lots of delicious fruit. The place was gorgeous inside and had a really nice homey feel. Plus our server was a really great guy and was very nice. They had a great playlist going in there so he helped me find it on Spotify. Great little hole in the wall spot! Oh my!!! I needed a break from cured meats and traditional Spanish tapas. I was looking for something with vegetables and stumbled across Salterio (so glad I did). I never heard of a Sardo before but I now I can't stop thinking about it now. This is a tiny place so they probably can't accommodate large parties but you must give it a try if you're in Barcelona (gothic district). Fresh, delicious ingredients in a very cozy environment (with great music). You won't regret checking this place out!!! read more

We stumbled upon this place and we're so glad we did! The place is small but it's quite cozy with rustic charm. The staff made us felt very at home despite feeling squished up against the bar. However, the bar seats are the best seats in the house as you get the luxury of watching the staffs' skill and art. My mom who use to own a restaurant was impressed at the effortless cutting skills of the fruit, They would work and talk among each other, without even having to glance at peeling an apple. The magic that went into making the sangria made for an elevated taste. It was quite memorable even months later. We also had a couple of appetizers which came in good portions. Very friendly owner/staff, extremely cozy place, and fresh homemade food. They even have their own chai blend that was heavy on the black pepper and curiously delicious. Staff spoke enough English to make ordering easy. Both English and Spanish/Catalan guests. My husband and I shared some hummus, a salad, and a grilled sandwich. Best meal on my trip. We ordered the Sangria, because we had our fill of Vermouth and people kept saying how great the Sangria was here. It is good. We also ordered a licorice infusion and a classic Sardo. I've tried looking Sardo up online. Honestly I've never heard of it or seen it before. The closest thing I could find in comparison is a Turkish Gozleme or what others called a Mediterranean Quesadilla. This restaurant calls it a Sardo. So as far as I'm concerned that's what it is, a Sardo. Basically it's a cheese "sandwich" filled with vegetables and Mediterranean herbs and spices. The ingredients are filled in to two flatbreads and cooked between two hot plates. Basically a big waffle iron or giant "George Foreman" style grill. Whatever it is it delicious. I highly recommend this place. It has a great atmosphere and a friendly staff. Very affordable and Delicious. read more

Everything is made after ordering so it does take a little time but it is so worth it that we ate here twice during our 6 day visit. The yogi tea and bread with tomato during our stay in Barcelona were what made us come back the second time. I wish I had recipes for both! Found this great hole in the wall place while getting lost in the gothic quarter. It was a hidden gem in between two leaning buildings, with a small alley way that might look like there was nothing there. It was the best find in Barcelona. It was small and quaint but busy. They had mixed matched chairs and decora that gave the space a rustic old timey look. The owners are Italian but the teas and food have some Middle Eastern influence. I'm not a big fan of teas besides green tea and chamomile but I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try a new blend. I had the Remedio ir Remedy tea made with ginger, lemon, Jasmine, cloves, and some other spices. It was heaven. I felt like I was coming down with something so this tea really helped. They make all the tea blends themselves in house so they go to the market and buy the products fresh and make it there to order. They come in little tea pots and cups all mixed matched and cute. The vibe is soothing and calm. I enjoyed my time there that I came back again the next day! I ordered the Sardo, which is a pita bread stuffed with vegetables and some other spices. It was delicious! It's the perfect place for a calm night or an afternoon tea. I highly recommend visiting this gem! read more
