Pineapple cake, nice presentation but the taste wasn't good (in my opinion)
    May H.

Wonderful, friendly staff. This used to be one of my go to places. But unfortunately it has changed. I've given it several chances and the food is just does not have the exquisite flavors I had come to expect from here. Today I had sops de calabaza and the cerdo de secreto. The service was slow. The food was barely warm. The soup was just ok. The pork was dry and burnt at the bottom. The flavor of the sauce was good and so was the zucchini. Although service was a bit slow, it was friendly and efficient. The drinks on their menu del dia here aren't as big as their competitors but when their food was so good, it didn't matter. It used to surprise me every time how excellent their flavors and how well they combined them were but it seems this is no longer the case and With so many good menu del dias, I don't know that I would give it another try.

A highlight of time in Barcelona. Great breakfast and lunch spot although the space is a bit tight if the weather is not cooperating. Be prepared to share tables if you're dining solo or duo. Prices are reasonable and they have good lunch specials that feature salads/soup, entree, dessert, and a drink for about 12 euros. I didn't partake because the entrees featured meat but ordering off the menu (mostly sandwiches) did not leave me wanting. The sandwiches were tasty and heavy on the foccacia-like bread which I enjoyed. Being near the tourist areas, the staff seem to all be able to speak English.

Delicieux! The staff speak French in this quirky restaurant within the Gothic quarter. Their croissant is good. Breakfast was reasonable with the charcuterie upgrade it was 10 euros. I had an orange juice, coffee (Americano) and croissant for about 6 euro which was pretty good. Quality was good. They have free wifi as well.

7:01 am on a fabulous winter morning. A smile and Lattes for all. Juliet had sipping chocolate.

Like the other reviews mentioned, you can get a great deal for breakfast here. We had the breakfast set which comes with a tortilla, tomato toast, assortment of charcuterie, coffee and smoothie for 10 €, a water and small sandwich for another 3.5€ and another full sandwich for another 4€. The food was good and simple. Your typical Spanish breakfast. It was a nice sunny day so we got to sit on the patio, people watching. Service was nice as well.

El Casal is a very nice restaurant with good seating inside and outside. The wait staff was very nice and the food was really good. If you are a meat lover, the charcuteria plate is for you! I thought the tortilla was a little overcooked and the smoothie was watered down. Overall, a nice place with good food and a good atmosphere!

The breakfast platter for €10 is amazing. Get the charcuterie upgrade! The waiters spoke English and everyone was friendly. Would bring friends back here.

Scrambled eggs w/pico & tomato bread-In the back is "cold cuts" Spanish tortilla & cafe American & "smoothie"

Great breakfast spot! Nice Spanish tortilla-good "cold cuts" with breakfast. Fresh smoothie (juice w/blended banana) best tomato bread so far-they bring you olive oil-use lots on the bread & a little S&P-it's so good! Heard their marmalade was good too.

    Tortilla de pattatas.

The other reviews do not lie the food here is excellent. I am a tourist and I think I was the only English speaker here. Which is supposed to be a good sign. The food was simple but very flavorful. I got scrambled eggs with cheese, tomato and bacon. I was not disappointed in what was served to me. My girlfriend ate tortilla de pattatas, that she also loved. I'm very happy I looked up this placed on yelp before I went to eat this morning.

6 euro for tomato toast, tortilla, coffee, and fresh juice? Now that's my kind of breakfast! And to top it off - food is delicious and service was very attentive. It was clear that a lot of the people that come here are regulars. I walked in and sat down near the back, and the waiter walked me through all of my options. I was hungry and got their breakfast menu as mentioned above. The tortilla was my favorite - it tasted home made and fresh. The toast was a little crunchy and could have used more tomato, but it was really good and the olive oil was to die for. Excellent coffee and fresh juice. No complaints! This could easily be one of my regular breakfast spots.

Breakfast Special with charcuterie upgrade for 10€!Great for lunch as well! Very easy to locate. Drinks are very reasonably priced. There are upscale wines, beers on tap, and spirits as well! Will definitely be back!

Rustic and hearty, appears to have a Breton influence. My Spanish is not so good but the waiter spoke French too so we could understand each other. Very pleasant, would recommend if you prefer English menus available and a cozy atmosphere.

Blink and you might miss it!

I got by speaking English with aggressive hand language (pointing at the menu really and making shapes in the air). They have an English menu, not to worry, so you can simply smile and point. The cafe had a very french bistro atmosphere to it - very cute and quaint. The place filled up quickly, and at one point there was only one waitress (so expect slower service). However, as many of the patrons seemed to be locals, I think they didn't require fast service as they were pleasantly chatting away. I, on the other hand, had to go up to the waitress when she was making coffee in order to get my check (which is fine to do if you're in a hurry!) The food was fair - the soup, which was the soup of the day so unfortunately to me is unidentifiable, was sweet and creamy. Very similar to tomato bisque with some chives on top. The app I ordered, tuna belly salad, was okay - the tuna was pre-cooked as it was cold. The entree, salmon with asparagus, was very good as well. Definitely worth a venture, as this shop is fairly close to the popular high-end shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, so it's convenient to go to after a hard days worth of spending money.

This is a great place to come with a group - the interior is large, bustling and a little noisy. They brew their own beer and it's available in several sizes or in flights. I opted for wine because I'm always bringing wine to a beer fight but the men had a pitcher of beer and were good with it. Maestro has a larger menu so most people will be able to find something they like. They also do lots of combos - liked a mixed meat and cheese board or an assortment of montaditos. That let's you try a bunch of different things for a reasonable price, and it's great for sharing as we found out. I liked our bites assortment for sure but nothing stood out as "amazing". It's a different story on their flammekuche - we opted for the traditional ham and onion and liked it so well we ordered another. Good for groups, good for casual bites, good for variety, great for flammekuche.

Be aware: Do NOT waste your money at this restaurant if you are Asians!!!…read more We dined at Disfrutar with high expectations given its 3 Michelin stars, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We were the second party to check in yesterday. However, when several hosts came out, they escorted multiple European groups who arrived after us into the restaurant first, while leaving our party waiting. As an Asian family visiting from the United States, this made us feel uncomfortable and raised concerns about whether we were being treated differently. The situation became even more concerning during the meal. My daughter was holding a glass of orange juice when the glass suddenly broke in her hand and cut her left thumb. A staff member came to clean the table and clearly saw her bleeding finger, yet there was no apology, no concern, and not even a simple "Are you okay?" This lack of basic care and empathy was shocking. At a Michelin 3-star level, service should be attentive, respectful, and consistent for every guest. Unfortunately, our experience made us feel overlooked and unwelcome. At this level, service is not optional--it is a fundamental part of the experience. Being made to feel overlooked and unwelcome, combined with the lack of care in a situation involving a child's injury, made this an experience we cannot recommend. To be fair, the cuisine itself was exceptional--creativity, presentation, wine quality, and overall execution were all at a very high level (close to 10/10). The taste was strong (around 8/10). However, the customer service was extremely poor (1/10), and unfortunately, that overshadowed the entire experience. We hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how all guests are treated. There are many choices when it comes to fine dining, and service matters just as much as the food.
